    While cleaning out more drawers, I found the following framed photo sporting an image of Hula dancer with outstretched arms and looking up from the lower left hand corner at a white crucifix on the upper right hand corner from © Lamb and Lion Marketing, P.O. Box 261, Haleiwa, HI 96712, (808) 637-7115.

    The Lord’s Prayer

    In Hawaiian and English

    E ko makou makua iloko o ka lani,

    Our Father who is in heaven,

    E hoanoia kou inoa . E hiki mai kou aupuni;

    Hallowed by your name. Your kingdom come;

    E malamaia kou makemake ma ka honua nei,

    Your will be done one earth,

    E like me ia i malamaia ma ka lani la.

    As it is in heaven.

    E haawi mai ia makou i keia la, i ai na mokou na neia la.

    Give us this day our daily bread.

    E kala mai hoi ia makou, i ka makou lahala ana,

    And forgive us our debts,

    Me makou e kala nei i ka poe i lawhala i ka makou.

    As we forgive our debtors.

    Mai hookuu oe ia makou i ka hoowalewale,

    And lead us not into temptation,

    E hoopakele no nae ia makou i ka ino;

    But deliver us from evil;

    No ha mea, nou ke aupuni

    For Yours is the kindom

    A me ka mana, a me ka hoonaniia, a mau loa, aku, Amene.

    And the power, and the glory, forever, Amen.

    I checked my email a few minutes ago and noticed how personal emails were forwarded and shared from other personal emails. The original email showed 13 “Paintings of Christ” and an easy message: “If you are ashamed of me, I will be ashamed of you before my Father.

    Here is a 22-word prayer meant to be shared with your family and friends:

    “FATHER,

    WALK THROUGH MY HOUSE

    AND

    TAKE AWAY ALL MY WORRIES

    AND

    ILLNESSES;

    AND

    PLEASE WATCH OVER

    AND

    HEAL MY FAMILY.

    AMEN.”

    Concentrate on this sentence: “‘To get something you never had, you have to do something you never did.” Interpretation: When God takes something from your grasp, He’s not punishing you, but merely opening your hands to receive something better.

    Concentrate on this sentence: “The will of God will never take you where the Grace of God will not protect you.” Interpretation: Something good will happen to you today; something that you have been waiting to hear.

    The test really is not what is coming to you but what is coming from you. Again, the world operates in the reverse.

    In one of my Askimet spam, there was this following Biblical quote in response to one of my prayer journals:

    Knowledge is power. (Proverbs 24:5)

    I disagree. Who wants power? Isn’t power a temptation by Satan? Isn’t that what is happening to the Facebook CEO? I’ve read somewhere there’s lots of stress in trying to keep up with the tides of users and their complaints of privacy issues. Isn’t that what we are seeing in the entertainment industry in which several successful celebrities admitted to selling their souls to the devil for the chance of temporary (and temporal) fame and fortune?

    It is truly sad to that the Bible would encourage people to use knowledge to their advantage and exploit the meek by controlling their minds and “what to think” through the media — a powerful tool of visual symbolism and other Satanic influences. It is no wonder “cool” and “hip” kids are more prone to violence and, yes, angry at traditional standards of a family unit and marriage and at wisdom from family and friends of old.

    What’s the use of knowledge if not enough people would care to rise up and fight back for what they believe in? What’s the use of power when people refuse to take up arms and kill others who in turn refuse to see it their way? What’s the use of the Bible, the Koran, the Torah and other the religious dogmas and to higher authorities, if people at ground level simply cannot get along because of race, ideologue, religion, cultural heritage and resolve their problems by themselves?

    I fail to see how “knowledge is power”. I personally know too much for my own good and I truly feel empowered. But when I try to share my knowledge and in my hope to “empower” the clueless drones of hard-working, tax-paying, compliant American citizens, I get poop — a plain disregard of validity or their look of insanity on my part.

    So while knowledge is indeed power, I only have this to say: Do not seek credit for your existence. Don’t expect others to agree with you all the time. Only you know what is best for yourself.

    As Paw would always tell us about the boy:

    “He knows all the answers.”

    This is a profound truth from a man who has a difficult time expressing his thoughts in a basic sentence structure. Take it from Paw. There is no use trying to talk to stubborn people who refuse to listen truth. Each person will wake up eventually — drip by drip.

    At around 4:40pm, I felt a missing earring on my right earlobe while seated at my desk at work! I usually wear four pieces — two in each ear.

    I went downstairs and asked the security if anyone turned in a missing GOLD earring. That’s right! It’s real gold — 22 karats! This time I felt very concerned because no one turned in my missing bling!

    I went outdoors where the cameras were located and wondered if it might have fallen to the cement when I removed my black, knitted hat (by Maw, of course). My eyeglasses were caught inside the knitted material. There was nothing!

    I went to my car to exchange shoes and to see if it fell there. There was nothing either! I went back indoors and the secuirty guard, who asked if I found it but I replied in the negative.

    I went upstairs and looked through my black, knitted hat, the pockets of my black leather jacket and my gloves. I even felt my shirt and turtle neck collar. There was nothing there, too!

    Then I retraced my steps back to the bathroom where I went to remove my long sleeve shirt and replace my turtle neck vest. I looked downward at the floors and thank goodness I found it!

    I went back downstairs to tell the security guards (including the cute Chicano) where I found it.

    You see, my birthday present was the four gold earrings from my parental units. I felt bad that I couldn’t find it earlier. But I continued to pray to St. Anthony in the hopes of finding something:

    “Something is lost and cannot be found.
    Oh! Dear St. Anthony, Are you around?”

    ~Jean Sh#ldon (Maw’s co-worker from long ago)…

    Here is another version on “How to Find Something by Praying to St. Anthony“:

    “St. Anthony, St. Anthony, please come around.
    Something’s been lost and cannot be found.”

    I really believe in prayer and in St. Anthony. He has helped my family and me many times in the past. Once again, I’d like to thank St. Anthony for helping find my precious jewelry: It means alot because my parental units loved and gifted me.

    I really believe materialization does happen or in this case, it was where it had fallen. Somehow I just picked up a thought that perhaps it was in “invisible mode” until I came back to retrieve my missing piece, which was the larger size of the two matching types.

    Today is supposed to be the day of St. Nicholas (aka Santa Claus), known for his generosity. Anyway, during this morning’s sermon, Fr. Michael talked about why he was wearing a white robe instead of a purple robe during Advent:

    “A fast mover is when a jet plane does a fly-by overhead, ready to drop whatever below. A slow mover is when a soldier does not move fast enough for not feeling well or doing so hot.”

    Today I’ve received an email for a settlement, which is more like a lump-sum on my head and my curse to TPTB for taking so long for justice. Personally, the amount is not quite so generous, although 62% is still a lot after FINANCE CHARGES/FEES! So go figure who still owes a lot, regardless of karmic or financial debt.

    In light of my distress and to give thanks to the generosity of my parental units, here is a:

    Prayer to Saint Michael

    Saint Michael the Archangel,
    defend us in battle;
    be our protection against the wickedness and snares of the devil.
    May God rebuke him, we humbly pray:
    and do thou, O Prince of the heavenly host,
    by the power of God,
    thrust into hell Satan and all the evil spirits
    who prowl about the world seeking the ruin of souls.
    Amen.[5]

    Evening Prayer

    Saturday, October 2, 2010

    O my guardian angel!
    Let my soul be placed in your charge,
    and when it has gone forth
    from the prison of this body,
    deliver it into the hands
    of its creator and redeemer,
    that with you and all the saints,
    it may gaze upon God in the bliss of heaven,
    love God perfectly and find its blessedness
    in God throughout eternity. Amen.

  • Pimon Dying

    Well, Pimon is dying. I went downstairs a few minutes ago to check up on the laundry. I found Pimon on the bottom of his `death cage`, which was Bugsy purple-colored transport cage to our house.

    It appears that is left leg hurts and stand with his right leg mostly. He would bring that leg up against his body and tuck his head to sleep for most of the day. He has been fluffed up ever since the two baby birds were born last year and this year.

    Pray for him. Because Maw said that once the birds go down on the bottom of the cage, their time is up.

    I just watched a VERY inspirational YouTube.com video titled:

    You won’t believe whats at the center of the Bible! (by killuminatiAFF)

    [youtube=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=z5qgHtIlD0w]

    The video starts out with questions and then presents its findings: the shortest chapter is Psalm 117 while the longest chapter is Psalm 119. And in between those two chapters is Psalm 118. There are 594 chapters before AND after Psalm 118. And when both numbers are added together the sum total is 1188!

    At the center of the Bible is the following chapter:

    Psalm 118:8 (King James Version)

    It is better to trust in the LORD than to put confidence in man.

    The center of everyone’s heart should contain: IN GOD WE TRUST.

    Allen B. and Yesenia L. got married today. Here is a prayer in Spanish as printed on a blue-colored book marker with blue fonts and a white ribbon on the top:

    Oracion de los Esposos
    Señor: Haz de nuestro hogar un sitio de tu amor.
    Que no haya injuria porque Tú nos das comprensión.
    Que no haya amargura porque Tú nos bendices.
    Que no haya egoísmo porque Tú nos alientas.
    Que no haya rencor porque Tú nos das el perdón.
    Que no haya abandono porque Tú estás con nosotros.
    Que sepamos marchar hacia Ti en nuestro diario vivir.
    Que cada mañana amanezca un día más de entrega y sacrificio.
    Que cada noche nos encuentre con más amor de esposos.
    Haz, Señor, de nuestras vidas que quisiste unir
    una página llena de Ti.
    Haz, Señor, de nuestros hijos lo que Tú anhelas:
    ayúdanos a educarles y orientarles por el camino.
    Que nos esforcemos en el consuelo mutuo.
    Que hagamos del amor un motivo para amarte más.
    Que demos lo mejor de nosotros para ser felices en el hogar.
    Que cuando amanezca el gran día de ir a tu encuentro
    nos concedas el hallarnos unidos para siempre en Ti.
    Amén.

    `Rescue me from my enemies, O Lord; for I’ve sinned for being a helpful idiot. I ask for forgiveness, too, for offending you. Only you know what I want. I need your guidance, protection and faith in your will to do better. Thank you.`

    ~Moi in distress

    Psalm 35 (NIV) – Of David.

    1. Contend, O LORD, with those who contend with me; fight against those who fight against me.

    2. Take up shield and buckler;  rise and come to my aid.

    3. Brandish spear and javelin [a] against those who pursue me. Say to my soul, “I am your salvation.”

    4. May those who seek my life be disgraced and put to shame; may those who plot my ruin be turned back in dismay.

    5. May they be like chaff before the wind, with the angel of the LORD driving them away;

    6. may their path be dark and slippery, with the angel of the LORD pursuing them.

    7. Since they hid their net for me without cause and without cause dug a pit for me,

    8. may ruin overtake them by surprise—may the net they hid entangle them, may they fall into the pit, to their ruin.

    9. Then my soul will rejoice in the LORD and delight in his salvation.

    10. My whole being will exclaim, “Who is like you, O LORD ? You rescue the poor from those too strong for them, the poor and needy from those who rob them.”

    11. Ruthless witnesses come forward; they question me on things I know nothing about.

    12. They repay me evil for good and leave my soul forlorn.

    13. Yet when they were ill, I put on sackcloth and humbled myself with fasting. When my prayers returned to me unanswered,

    14. I went about mourning as though for my friend or brother. I bowed my head in grief as though weeping for my mother.

    15. But when I stumbled, they gathered in glee; attackers gathered against me when I was unaware. They slandered me without ceasing.

    16. Like the ungodly they maliciously mocked [b] ; they gnashed their teeth at me.

    17. O Lord, how long will you look on? Rescue my life from their ravages, my precious life from these lions.

    18. I will give you thanks in the great assembly; among throngs of people I will praise you.

    19. Let not those gloat over me who are my enemies without cause; let not those who hate me without reason maliciously wink the eye.

    20. They do not speak peaceably, but devise false accusations against those who live quietly in the land.

    21. They gape at me and say, “Aha! Aha! With our own eyes we have seen it.”

    22. O LORD, you have seen this; be not silent. Do not be far from me, O Lord.

    23. Awake, and rise to my defense! Contend for me, my God and Lord.

    24. Vindicate me in your righteousness, O LORD my God; do not let them gloat over me.

    25. Do not let them think, “Aha, just what we wanted!” or say, “We have swallowed him up.”

    26. May all who gloat over my distress be put to shame and confusion; may all who exalt themselves over me be clothed with shame and disgrace.

    27. May those who delight in my vindication shout for joy and gladness; may they always say, “The LORD be exalted, who delights in the well-being of his servant.”

    28. My tongue will speak of your righteousness and of your praises all day long.

    From our parish bulletin and via http://www.oremus.org/hymnal/w/w165.html, here is a hymnal prayer:

    We walk by faith, and not by sight;
    no gracious words we hear from him
    who spoke as none e’er spoke;
    but we believe him near.

    We may not touch his hands and side,
    nor follow where he trod;
    but in his promise we rejoice;
    and cry, “My Lord and God!”

    Help then, O Lord, our unbelief;
    and may our faith abound,
    to call on you when you are near,
    and seek where you are found:

    that, when our life of faith is done,
    in realms of clearer light
    we may behold you as you are,
    with full and endless sight.

    While waiting for this morning’s mass to begin, Maw share with me a prayer from her `Prayers For All Occasions` booklet (Edited by Rev. Francis Evans © 198 Catholic Book Publishing Co., N.Y. Printed in the U.S.A.):

    Prayer In Time of Success (p. 60)

    Dear Lord,

    You have been gracious enough to allow me to score a great success. I humbly thank You for Your help and I hope that I will continue to receive it. Let me never forget that without You I would never have achieved anything. True, I made use of my talents but they were given to me by You, and so was the drive to use them. May I always strive to utilize all my talents to the very best of my ability — whether I achieve success or not. For I will in this way be achieving the goal that You have set out for me and become the person You want me to be.

    But I also saw two more prayers that appear to apply to my current situation. I’ve also made key words in bold type that mean something to me.

    Prayer for the Virtue of Temperance (pp. 60-61)

    Lord Jesus Christ,

    I tend to overdo almost anything. When I am involved in something I plunge into it so that I am oblivious of everything else. Give me a spirit of temperance to maintain my balance in all things — whether it be sleeping, thinking, or working, playing, visiting, or partying. Let me realize that whatever I do I should do for You — and I should do it in moderation.

    Prayer in Time of Weariness (p. 61)

    Lord God,

    I am overcome with weariness and fatigue both of body and of spirit. I have been working doubly hard for a long time and I am beginning to feel the effects. Let me take this as a sign from myself that I must slow down, cut down my pet projects, and eliminate superfluous details. Help me not to wait till it is too late. Teach me how to continue to serve You with a less hectic schedule and a more sheltered life.
