Topic # 34 – Prompted January 22, 2009: Name three songs you’d put on a road trip mix tape.

Topic #33: Name a movie character who reminded you of yourself or someone you know. Where’s the parallel between this character and you (or someone you know)?

Well, I’ve never watched the movie titled `Ugly Betty`. From the photo of the main character, Betty Suarez, her rather unattractiveness of silver-colored braces, dark long hair, small black-framed eyeglasses and comedic personality reminded me or myself — lack of fashion sense and always feeling awkward around people. Plus, my stupid cousin Bobby F. from Monterey, CA responded to my Facebook message with a rather UGLY message. So, yeah I look and feel ugly.

Topic #32: Name three songs you could be convinced to sing at a karaoke bar.

Topic #31: Name a book you started reading but never finished. Why did you stop? What would it take for you to finish it?
I had to ask for `The Book of Mormon` from two elder but young WHITE brothers, who offered kindly their assistance to Dad and me in cleaning up the street of dried leaves.

I gave up reading the entire book because there were too many questions that go unanswered, such as “What is a Nephi? Are those really the Nephilims, the giant fallen angels of abomination so long ago?”

In addition, the language has some Old English in it, such as `Thou`, `Shalt`, `Ye`, `Thine`, `Art`, etc. Further, the print is TOO small to read. I get easily distracted if the reading material in not engaging enough to tell a nice story with at least a happy ending.

I would try to finish it if there was at least a clue to how the world and everything was created and if there would be an end to creation. If there is ABSOLUTE truth in human versions of reading `The Book of Mormon`, then I would `read between the lines` and figure out what the passages are trying to tell all of us.

Topic #30: Recommend a movie for a friend stuck on the couch with a cold. Why is this movie perfect for convalescing?

I love the movie titled `Forrest Gump`. This was the only movie that felt `normal` in the sense that one person went through all those situations in life and still have the conviction of a sincere walnut. Depending how the viewer with a cold reacts to the movie, one could shed a tear or at least cry, clearing out the cold through the eyes and nose, too! For me the movie was touching.

Topic #29: Have you gone a day without your cell phone? Questions: Isn't it awful? Describe how you got by (or didn't).

I've actually gone without my cell phone for a couple of months. Why? It's because I'm trying to avoid the collections from six unpaid credit cards, thanks in part to TPTB.

I don't like my old cellphone. It has an antenna and warms on the ear due to radiation. So I avoid that health hazard like a bane. I want to keep my brain cells, by the way.

My moniker is `Flynn`! It was derived from Lyn among my relatives. I have two pendants made of sterling silver and gold spelling out `Lyn`. My real first name is spelled with a letter `F`. By combining the letter `F` to my nickname `Lyn` and adding an extra letter `N` for appearance sake, I'm also known as `Flynn`.
