  • 20060606-Amen Signs

Although my time as been spent inside this building that is similar to being locked inside a jail, nothing but another beautiful day existed for me. The sun was warm to feel and the air was refreshing to breathe. Some wispy clouds have made their majestic presence too.

Today is 06-06-06. This is suppose to indicate something is about to happen. I didn’t like seeing all those white prints against the black background plastered high up on billboards to commercialize this movie. The movie does no justice for a boy named ‘Damien’ with special gifts.

I especially do not appreciate how they would demonize this little spit ball of fire. People should not be programmed to be afraid of this one person because of who he is or what he is capable. There are ways to lovingly manage an angry child of non-human ancestry.

‘Omen’ is to be defined as either bad or good. So far in spite of the ominous movie, the cool weather has been fine. Moreover, I found a recent headline of positive steps towards peace, which is supposed to be rare between two countries

Today’s auspicious omen shows that the barrier of fear is being torn down and that the fruit of peace is being planted together. Once again, nuclear programs may seem scary and risky. But when more advanced and unknown technology exists, that is something else to reckon.

After watching the first movie, I am no longer programmed to believe that anything associated with ominous signs are to be regarded as bad. But today, the fear for those that do not understand love, life and laughter and today’s positive steps towards peace is their ill omen. Amen!

  • 20060604-Treasured Junk

The liner goes that ‘one person’s junk is another person’s treasure’. I’ve got lots of junk but hold on to a few as treasure. Today, I tried to get rid of some hard covered books that are recently written and will donate these to a local library after this blog.

I’ve also tried to thin my closet to no avail. All these years I’ve seen my family and I accumulate lots of nice stuff to keep as treasures. As the years go by, the value of these treasures seem to loose their value. And these end up as junk to our eyes.

The reasons are not the total lack of interest or time to recoup the memories behind each token of appreciation or each moment of togetherness. We simply have to let some items go. And the memories would soon fade in time anyway.

The limited amount of space in any one household is a primary reason to sell or donate these treasures. Most of what we have are not souvenirs of foreign places but of local wares from stores conveniently located.

When we have the urge to purchase trivial items, the build up of these goodies can and have happened. Then the matter of finding the right spot to place these eye candies do little to keep our interest going eventually.

Now that the boy moved out, clean up has been possible in one month’s time. The garage has been emptied as much as possible. Some junk that once was stored inside our closets to stink up and collect dust has been donated. Other clutters in the backyard have been drastically thrown away.

I know the cycle of treasure to junk would never cease. This is almost like eating and then pooping. In comes the new stuff and out goes the old stuff. I wonder where these items really end up.

Treasures could be kept alive by one’s memories of loving events. These could be antique furnitures, old photos, my blogs, or other people’s treasures of divine books and other inspired tidbits. This is only if the holders of these new acquired treasures do not loose their memories to pass one to others.

Real treasures could be the fostering of loving descendants. Messing around with anyone’s genetic makeup is almost next to impossible. Anyone could loose their minds or memories; but the one truth that will always emain is the children who carry on the treasured legacy of their ancestors.

  • 20060601-Saw Sausage

A sausage is a meaty, edible treat found in a small can; while a saw is a tool with serrated edges like a mountain range. The imagery of these objects not only reminds me of my surnames but of a carrot-and-stick approach of today’s meeting regarding a particular program by one country.

History tells us that the effects of nuclear activities are very damaging to the planet and its inhabitants. Yet the powerful nations won’t stop using this advanced technology. And now these same nations expect the emerging ones to give up their efforts on this form of energy.

Any meeting that does not add more fuel to the fire of extremes has succeeded. And I have yet to observe anything positive resulting from today’s meeting. My expectation is for both sides of the mess to resolve their differences.

My primary concern is the elimination of the proverbial wool, which is fear. The fear of waging war; of utilizing nuclear arms or of losing power to the general populace of awakening people are not to be rewarded. Rewarding bad behavior is nonsense and does not advance the world in this manner.

A better reward is actually utilizing renewable forms of energy on a global scale. I’m sure there would be jobs everywhere for everyone and no one could get hurt from refueling their vehicles with water, for example. The air, soil and water would be much cleaner without the stains of oil or radiation.

Another example is for everyone to stop eating anything which lives or moves. And I mean all plants and animals. I could image having dinner by ingesting honey flavored pills and still feel full. That would free up any contracts between species of having to eat each other to survive.

As I digress, pooping would be less difficult and time spent on the toilet would be reduced. There would be no more laxatives as a result. The sewers, the rivers and the great ocean would be in better condition too.

People should know by now that anything could be easily destroyed in an instance. A building could come crashing down with demolition, a car could be totaled in an accident and a relationship could end from misunderstanding.

What took many years for the ancient forests (with its little owls inhabiting therein) to grow very tall could be destroyed in minutes by these computer controlled tools of destruction. The recovery is slow to the ecosystem.

So we all could assuage the insecurity of each other with tasty morsels of sausages or conquer and divide ourselves as each other’s enemy with the almighty saw, such as by admitting that you are right and I am wrong.

  • 20060520-Friendly Brat

Today has been mostly gray clouds over the whole Bay Area and not a single drop of rain fell. The air is cold and crispy as I looked above to see the Sun with its nice halo. There are some wispy clouds behind and that is enough to convince me that today will be another fine Saturday.

We are frying fish outside the char broiler and the propane tank has enough fuel for many more fun filled days. The first one is catfish and the second one is tilapia, a popular Asian fish. I prefer tilapia because it’s meatier compared to the smelly catfish, which reminds me of old men with whiskers. There are three green chili peppers and a slab of meat being cooked also.

At around 10:29AM, there were two black colored copters that flew from a southwest direction towards a northeast direction into the distance of Mt. Hamilton, CA. I do not know why they would make their presence known DIRECTLY over my home or my parents’ house.

Yesterday and today, there were lots of light planes making their presence known in my airspace also. I never flew inside a light plane before and would assume that it’s too loud inside. Besides, I did mention in my previous blogs that my tummy doesn’t like the feeling of free falling.

I took pictures of both copters; the gray clouds; the Sun’s halo and some birds with my CB in the background. This goes to show that my life as a novice writer and warrior, a dedicated hard worker and slave and a simple person and human, could be described as being none other than a Friendly Brat.

My purpose in this lifetime is to observe the events unfolding in my immediate surroundings and learn all that I could and to take all the trials and errors that I could possibly encounter and make life both fun and enjoyable.

Today should be another example of how there seems to be lots of wool being pulled over everyone’s eyes. The wool, in my opinion, could be fear, which I felt as my hand shook from excitement when I messaged Brat about the two copters flying above.

The increase in police activities on the roads and in the skies and in spectacular headlines that seem to focus on negativity are examples of more wool that should not make us feel cold from fear like ice cold tea or lemonade but should keep us warm like sweaters knitted by loved ones.

I would like to remind everyone that the mundane events have many positive outcomes on a daily basis that do not always make the headlines. This brat wants to make sure that the senses of new and old thinking in each and everyone are being tickled in a friendly manner.

Once again, I would like to subscribe to the great comedy of life and allow everyone to discover that laughter is the best medicine. Besides, if we all want to one day meet our Maker, I would prefer to know that many great smiles have resulted from people who could make a difference in all that is good.

  • 20060508-Sacred Zoo

To visit animals in zoos allows ordinary people the opportunity to learn of many different kinds of consumers living on this plant. This promotes the interaction between species that we would not otherwise have a chance to meet in the wild.

Zoos are fine for our viewing pleasures and educational purposes yet confining to those who live behind enclosures that mimic their natural habitats. Although attempts are made to ensure the well being and comfort of our animal friends, I wonder if we are aware of any form of zoo larger than us.

A white Beemer was in front of me for about half my traveling distance from home to work before it exited off of De La Cruz Blvd. at around 09:30AM. I interpreted its license plate and thought to myself that life is but a comedy in spite of all the bombardment of negativity from the mainstream media. I am sure that there are countless deeds of goodness that don’t make headlines.

I imagined myself being much like an animal being exhibited for other’s amusment. I have much to offer from my simple and boring life as a novice writer. There is nothing to hide and fear is but a small factor to promote lack of trust among each other. All I could do is be myself and do the best with whatever I’ve learned from others.

Once again, this morning’s event serves as a reminder to me of how blessed I am to be safe and sound from any harm and danger. I believe that we create in our minds some sort of protection for our sense of self and three dimensional properties and from unknown enemies and threats to our security.

  • 20060428-Heaven’s Hell

A little white car passed in front of me with a license plate that took me awhile to decipher. After a couple of minutes of mouthing the letters slowly, my brain finally realized what the message meant. I smiled and thought of preferring heaven over hell anytime. While in my car, I knew this would make another masterpiece in blog.

Although the traffic was slow as usual around 08:22AM and on my way to work along northbound Highway 101, I came to believe that this little sign of hope crossed my path to prod me onward with only good thoughts and positive attitudes. The partially cloudy morning did indicate that I have better work on making today another smooth one.

Upon arrival at work at 08:35AM, there were little donuts and bagels leftover. Usually there should be more remaining around 09:00AM but at least I’ve gotten a half portion of dry donuts, which I will wash down with the brown coffee of yuck later on from work. This should start the day out fine with some sweets.

I sat down at my cubicle; immediately whipped out my passwords and logged online to process my credit card payments, which are all close to being maxed out. I have a total of six credit cards that I hope to one day bring down to zero balance and close out altogether. Living on credit is no fun and dwelling on cash is only an illusion.

Hoping for lots of money is hell when there is none to be found. Experiencing anger and betrayal continues to challenge any prospective recipient of any good deal. The feeling could be similar to a practical joke I saw on television where people thought they won the lottery on fake numbers given by family members.

Living without lots of money is hell after wealth has been enjoyed. Personally, if I worked hard to earn my place in society and suddenly fell off the ladder of success, I would feel very depressed and perhaps quite vengeful. I do not know anyone who would expect death as the next means to salvation of soul or peace of mind.

Today, my little piece of heaven was feeling the euphoric buzz from drinking the US5.95 note worth of a tall frosty sized mug of margarita with salt and lime, which I did not squeeze into my beverage for extra flavor. For lunch, my co-workers and I walked a few blocks at a Mexican restaurant where I had my fill of the chicken wrap for around US8.95 notes.

The day once again was filled with high hopes, cool breezes, clear blue skies and good company. Walking on ugly, yet comfortable low heel shoes of fake leather, black color has made my brief trips between the restaurant and the twelve story building tolerable. There were nice flowering bushes that lined the side walks and very small orange blossoms from low ground covers of which I wanted to take pictures.

Heaven is further expanded when I got a chance to chat with a new twenty year old, Yahoo! Member, who happens to play guitar. I do not understand why people mostly of Middle Eastern or South Asian Indian descent and younger lads ten years or more my junior would want to chat with me. My astrological reports indicated my future mate, if any, is an older guy by the way.

Maybe it’s my black hair or my aura that attracts certain would be perpetrators. I do not consider any Yahoo! chatters my general public but rather curious strangers in need to connect with potential friends, like me. I love chatting and the fact that this service is available allows me to further practice my writing skills.

I was feeling good from the alcohol and that reflected on my chatting messages, which I could archive and retrieve later on for documentation during my down times. According to this member, my personality was shown as humorous, outgoing and more positive. This is who I am deep inside without the need for alcohol, which would have allowed him to take advantage of me.

Since my ego, like my already big head, is larger than life, I tend burn the candle at both ends and leave people to their own devices. Later I started to show no interest with this guy who, like most Yahoo! chatters, is out for only one thing. If they wanted to really get to know me, my Yahoo! 360 blogs are available for viewing and e-mailing is another option to track these members.

Heaven is nice weather and nice people. Hell is evil money driven by bad people. If I were to choose between heaven and hell, I’d be a happy woman among people who could enjoy life with all its natural simplicity without depending on money, alcohol or other sinful experiences to further degrade the human souls.

  • 20060424-Calm Reflection

I love calm, stillness and quiet. There is nothing more serene than to be able to think clearly when there is no noise, distraction or worry. My performance is enhanced when I’m especially able to tune into my inner guidance for my blogs.

Yesterday’s hysterical performances by both Brat and Maw would be considered the storm. Each had their versions of how their own worlds should operate and why those opinions stood firm and unmovable. Both got loud inside the new house and later on outside the front garden.

The stupid Twit stood nearby either looking clueless or gloating happily. I find their heated arguments can never be reconciled due to the fact that neither would give each other the chance to be heard. Both do not listen to what the other is saying and right there is the problem.

Their behavior is as strong as a storm. Storms are weathers of hail, rain, snow, thunder and lightening but also of very fast winds. Their anger is like lots of hot air being blown out of their mouths with imaginary steam escaping from their ears.

Arguments, like storms, are ferocious at first. The pent up energy has nowhere to go but to find the targets. Unfortunately, the destructive forces leave behind a mess and sometimes hurt those caught in its wake.

But the mechanism for storms is always cleansing. Without these movements causing the destruction, there is no room for creation. There seems to be life after devastation and renewal after damage.

After all that has been done and said, I have learned that no one could avoid at least one hard lesson in life. Maw especially had a rude awakening yesterday and felt she did the best for her children. She cried to me knowing that her days are over as a bio-unit.

This is sad to know that someone so strong in fighting spirit could be so vulnerable in being alone. I tried to hold my tongue lashings as I listened to her sobbing of dejection and betrayal. This is not new to me because I have had my share of awakening to my weird world.

Her forgiveness was given to me for whatever hurtful comments she may have overheard last night from upstairs while eavesdropping on my conversation with Brat. As a matter of fact, I do not recall the details of my conversation because my memory bank does not store unessential data well.

An apology to Maw is still pending. My help to my bio-units is still available while living at home. I hope she understands that the dinner plate, which she put out on the counter for me tonight, is greatly appreciated. This is a sign to show that she cares in spite of the hurt she has experienced from both her bio-units and relatives.

The day after the storm that had hit our lives is calmer and I reflect upon the events that lead up to the disagreements among us humans. We are not perfect and have been patient to learn all that we could about each other. There are many times that I could have given up fighting for any cause and gone my separate way to live happily ever after.

I am still waiting to be a happy woman as a matter of fact. I have yet to conquer not the world in all its failings or my shortcomings of being human but to take by storm the lower based entities that dare to worm their way through my bio-units and friends.

After thought: I wonder if the airheads would come to their senses after Sunday’s storm and offer an apology soon for those who cleaned their new house and cleared their front garden. After all, taking the first step to put one’s pride down is always the hardest and this couple has a long way to go.

  • 20060423-Completely Confused

I have good news and bad news. Good news is I am still me. Bad news is I am confused.

Am I really free to choose my own path in this lifetime? Or has everything in my life been planned out from the beginning? I am stuck the middle once again and do not know how to begin!

First, I believe that everyone has been given the ability to choose which path to take in any one lifetime. I think this is called free-will. Second, I believe that everyone has been placed in a perfect position to learn from each other. I think this is called pre-destination. Which one is correct?

I cannot believe one or the other and may believe that both concepts co-exist. There is this strange balance that is very hard for me to achieve. And I’ve been tested so many times that I think my brain could explode!

I have tried to find solutions by thinking with my head and by feeling with my heart. Yet, neither method could come to any clear conclusion. I think I do not fully understand my purpose and I feel my small voice is not heard as a result.

‘What am I to do next?’ I ask myself. I stand at another cross road and may consider doing nothing once again and letting the events all around me fall into their nice places. There are too many weird things happening recently and I cannot find my own answers.

Today there have been two cries for help. One was by Brat and the other one was by Maw I wish to be there for both of them. I tried to help both and failed each time in their eyes. Or have I failed but myself?

This morning my bio-units and I helped to clean the new house and garden of Brat. We worked together fine for four hours straight from 11:00AM to 03:00PM. The disappointment was that Brat denied ever requesting our help when Paw spoke with him over the phone. No wonder Twit was surprised to see us three over at her house.

This evening my bio-units realized that children are meant to be set free. We four have lived together fine for over three decade. The disappointment was that Maw realized providing help to her children is no longer needed. No wonder both Brat and I are not too happy living this long at this house.

Both events that have crossed my path today indicated that help was clearly needed. Based on my inner guidance, I would conclude that the only solution to both events is to help whenever requested and with unconditional love. This ideal would have a happy ending.

However, when the request for help is unwanted, the choice is clear. There is no need to provide further help to people who do no seek or ask due to the fact that the appreciation won’t always be reciprocated to the giver of kindness, compassion or understanding.

The main conflict of interests is between the Self and the outside world. Each person is allowed the opportunity to choose between being nice or mean or between generous and selfish. The results are then weighed in the end.

My conclusion for the meantime may be this: There is no perfect solution. I hate that neutral answer but this is the best that I could offer. And as each event presents itself to any one person, there is only hope that peace prevails no matter what happens to me or anyone else.

  • 20060422-Playing Plastic

Yesterday, we encountered more plastic visages from our relatives. They do seem behaved on the outside; yet I often wonder what mean spirits possessed their insides. There is definitely something wrong but cannot tune into the lack of nice qualities I expect from pod peoples.

The faces of certain relatives are deeply filled with pock marks, weird wrinkles and puffiness filled underneath the cheekbone areas. The twinkles in their eyes are unnervingly insincere and sometimes bug eyed like monsters. Their smiles are etched into their faces and have little or no warmth through their opaque white teeth.

Maw and I had discussed yesterday evening around 06:00PM about the inner workings of how our East Bay relatives behaved. I have offered my best explanation that we are very territorial and will defend ourselves against others or from our very own kin folks to the very end. Finding fault for the slightest error made at any one time is unforgettable.

This means that in-laws would be blamed regardless for trifle matters, such as who attended which parties and how frequently one would show face in spite of the back biting that has been going on up to this point in time. There seems to be a general burden that in-laws have to carry for the term of any relationship.

My presumption is that being in America allows some to forget where they originated. They probably forgot the hierarchy of respecting older people, who are more sensitive and perhaps more traditional than Americanized Filipinos. They freely chose to ‘just ignore’ the protocol of properly greeting and leaving.

My ‘real’ life experience taught me that certain nasty creatures could tune out or just ignore a friendly gesture of waving goodbye. I have a feeling those people are using their gang, unity or togetherness technique to include only preferred members in their close minded boxes.

There has been some basic kindness with a simple smile or kind word from certain people, though. Little has been said as the norm except two male first cousins who bothered to have a small conversation of a couple of minutes each with me.

Maw’s belief that only good exists is opposite of what she expected from her in-laws, who had exposed her further to the harsh realities in life. She truly believes her peace is found with her prayers and within her own God. Her face is remarkably youthful as noticed yesterday by the other curious onlookers.

Once again I have no other recourse but to take the middle ground between the betrayal of innocence and the trust in love. I cannot ‘just ignore’ the existence of my paternal relatives; yet I cannot ‘just ignore’ the existence of my true being. I prefer freedom over security anytime; forward looking statements over backward thinking attitudes; and embracing enemies over ignoring love.

My simple life may become more exposed to the world of my future in-laws, if any, and have saved my sense of self by being alone. If stopping my smiling or giggling inappropriately would turn my face plastic, my inner guidance would refuse to be downplayed among more professional players in the game of life.

  • 20060326-Outpace Life

The change of pace is what I need the most by walking past the doors of my home and towards the outdoors anywhere for starters. Going to work does not count as being outside the house, because I’d end up sitting down all over again and stuck in a cubicle. I know I’ll need to go on a vacation soon for I’ve not traveled outside of the Bay Area.

Cycling on the streets where people, sun, trees and birds abound or hiking on the hill overlooking the bay or sleeping under the stars and moons a few times are two outdoor activities that seem simple enough to enjoy. I’ve not roughed the outdoors and camping for once seems like a good early retirement option to undertake.

Exploring during a mini-vacation is what my senses could do like: wiggling toes into surf and sand; listening to the sea gulls above head or children at play with sand castles or smelling someone’s barbecue beef bones and smoking pots of corn burning nearby.

Singing is fun in front of strangers. My voice, according to my relatives in Chicago, has a unique high and airy sound when I impressed them during an entertainment on their karaoke over there. Most Filipinos have a least one karaoke at home. I never did own one of those noise makers.

Dancing is fun to the beat of deafening music under the glaring laser lights all around, while trying to act cool as an intoxicated person at the bar scene and pretending to like the smell of cigarettes blowing into my face when the more refined scent of cigars is more preferable to kiss, did not do me any justice. I, however, do not look graceful enough on the floor.

Outdoor life seems full of adventure. And I wonder if I already missed out on too much in life while wondering if there is an audience who would care about what I have to say let alone what a picture of me could paint. I am perplexed that faceless strangers especially with online chatters barely have anything important to share.

There seems to be the ability to empower oneself to expand the potential of human conditions outside the confines of indoor living or of inward musings but to know actual freedom from want and desire, from anger and pain, from fear and prejudice towards unconditional love.

I tend to idealize and believe practicing unconditional love means living and sharing this truth every moment with others whether indoor or outdoors. There are different tools and techniques that are useful to improve one’s personal sphere and people who guide and who have been guided along this path of becoming nicer and of being wiser.

Perhaps being indoors is as good as being outdoors because each one of us creates a comfort zone and a reality that others may share. I find that blogging is my first step in building self confidence and that finding a good travel agent and destination package is the next step; so I could take pictures of people and places outdoors and further blog about my experiences indoors.

  • 20060309-Shutting Eyes

Sleeping is naturally good for the body and mind; allows the subconscious mind to dream and feels refreshing after a hard day’s work. For some, insomnia is a problem and cannot be avoided. Plain laziness is sleeping too much and doing nothing afterward.

I’ve shut the door to people who knocked at my front door, peered with their hands held near their faces through the screen door and wanted to listen to my piano echoing into the air. Now I welcome anyone who happens to come by and visit.

I’ve shut out Brat, who knocked at my bedroom door, called out to me to play and wanted be a friend and confidant. Now I actively get up from my chair, step away from the computer and join his activities.

I’ve shut out my bio-units who knocked on my head, taught me well about life’s lessons and wanted to me to be a better person. Now I thrive on their wisdom and will pass mine on as well.

I was sleeping all my life and now realize that I shut out some goodness that could have inspired this writer to be more open and giving. These events will continue to be made available if I only open my eyes and listen.

  • 20060308-Sun Arise

On your mark, get set, go! That’s how everyone should start every morning, like the race cars that start up fast and speed even faster around each turn of the race track. When the feeling is right and the energy level is high, there is much to do in so little time as part of the daily routine to get ready for work.

I quickly decided to get up, make my bed, open the wooden blinds of the second floor to allow the Sun indoors (for good luck as passed on by Maw from Gigolo), take my shower, brush my teeth, gurgle the stinging mouthwash and put air into my tires inside the garage. I debated whether to buy batteries for my digital camera but decided to blog while my mind is still fresh and alert instead.

Today, I woke up early at 06:30AM because I couldn’t drift back to sleep. My bedroom window is facing in the northern direction while the foot of my bed is facing towards the east. I do not need to use the alarm clock because the Sun happens to shine brightly through the ‘Hunter Douglas’ wooden blinds and my system wakes up automatically.

Sometimes I could tell myself to wake up on a desired time by visualizing the face of the clock and my body synchronizing at the same time. My body is already used to getting up around this time in the morning not unless I ruin the sleeping pattern by blogging into the next morning.

During my growing years in California, I used to feel groggy and sleepy all the time. I slept an average of ten to fourteen hours, like Paw. My system was charging its batteries during those emotional times.

I didn’t cry much after sobbing hysterically at the dinner table that one night after Brat teased me. I had my period then and realized that I had to control my emotions from then on to avoid upsetting other family units.

I was lazy, jobless and had nothing productive to do in my life. I didn’t make my bed, shower, exercise nor did anything that mattered to family units that were much cleaner than me. I left all the cleaning up to my parents because this was their house and wanted to be left alone.

Currently, I find myself going to bed later and sometimes past midnight. This is due to the passions of blogging my memoirs and in poetry, which I never knew I could do before my awakening on V-Day of 02-14-2006.

Drifting off to sleep has not been easy recently because I still have so much to share to the world. Waking up early is now important as I look forward to more stories to compose. It’s almost springtime too and that is significant to someone who likes to arise bright and early in the morning.
