For the first time, my parents and I sat inside the Flint Center in Cupertino, CA. We saw Jackie Evancho for the first time, too. When I saw Jackie dressed in a long gown of baby-blue with sequins on top, I cried! I cried at least four more times throughout the show. I don’t remember what songs moved me. I can’t believe PROFESSIONAL orchestration and performance made me! My well-folded tissue paper was soaked.
We used the rest room twice – once prior to the opening and again during the intermission from 08:40 PM to 09:00 PM. Kindly old/thick folks with canes allowed us to pass in front of them. They complimented Maw on her home-made stretched dress of black/gold leaves. Paw and I wore normal clothes – business attire. Other people wore jeans and cotton.
My few complaints would be the narrow lots marked “STAFF PARKING” for handicaps; my right bunion getting “caught” in the tight strap of the sandals; the compact seating of red cushions and light-colored wooden baking; and not bringing bottled water, breath mints, and a hand-held fan.
Overall, Jackie hit the high notes beautifully. She wore two long flowing gowns – one baby blue with sequins on top and a chocolate space of starry glitters everywhere. She sang Impossible Dream, When You Dream Upon A Star, My Heart Will Go On, and of course, The Lords Prayer.
The St. Patrick orchestra played the “Bohemian Rhapsody” by Queen with the conductor (De Santos?) leading on the black/baby/grand piano. The vertical backdrops were tied to reveal three upright triangles. Later the backdrops were loosened to appear metallic with colorful shades, some of which looked like green bamboo and red/orange/yellow flames.
The second woman to my right said “Bravo” once after the finale, which was at 2252. I sat in BB 25, Mom in BB 27, and Dad in BB 29. As we left upward the sloped ramp (with hand-rails attached to the right side of the: walls), I had a deja vu. In one of my blogged dreams, I was in a similar “auditorium”. Anyway, I noticed two computer geeks/gaffers/whatever were talking at the back-most wall, next to the disabled section of WIDE/comfortable blue-cushioned chairs. One of the guy reminded me of my ex-boyfriend. Sheesh.

The three of us decided to “scout out” two unfamiliar locations. Although we have lived in the Bay Area for most of our lives, we don’t get too far because of our doubt/fear in traveling. I’m the driver and I do get anxiety attacks just trying to locate/visit new places.
Anyway, we went to locate Flint Center. I did a short round-about counter-clockwise. Then Maw noticed the Flint Garage to the left. Great! We turned incorrectly to the right/away from the handicapped parking but eventually encircled the lower level counter-clockwise and parked at the second handicapped slot.
I got out and smelled cigarette and saw a bunch of students hanging out at a circular table nearby. I made my way across the short cross-walk and saw up ahead “Vic Lee” from KGO-TV with his cameraman to his right and a woman dress in black. I walked passed the three of them and the cameraman turned off/lowered the shoulder cam. I was wearing a long-sleeved, pink-hoodie over my head, by the way.
I took the photo of the directory, went to the right of the expansive cemented area, took another photo of the Flint Center, jiggled the lock door, peered into the lobby, and saw a sign with arrows pointed “odd numbered tickets to the left” and “even numbered tickets to the right”.
Then I went back across the short cross-walk and saw the KGO-TV van parked off to the right. The kids were still hanging out at the circular table smoking and talking and laughing out loud.
Then we went shopping at the DeCA. Afterwards, we got lost locating another unfamiliar place where we will attend a wedding reception. I took the photo of the sign. The place is past a school and next to a zoo. The parking lot is small and I expect the event to be small.
If y’all know who I am, please shut-up the fuck up! I’m anonymous for good reason. Please read my “Notice” page and the three other “About” pages. If y’all don’t believe me now, then y’all will have one of many doors closed flat upon your faces and y’all will live a blissful and ignorant life of doing normal “things”, such as working and earning money, traveling and enjoying money, eating, sleeping and being merry.
Anyway, it’s past 1235 AM Saturday morning as I listen to Maw inhaling deeply through the CPAP machine and to the Music Choice Soundscapes channel while blogging.
Here are my photos showing “gabi” (or taro roots). They have brown barks with appears to be hair, like a human and/or dog! Hehe. So I used the peelers to remove its bark-like skin/hair and Maw cut those in half to be boiled in soup later on. The texture/taste is like a softened baked potato but with a smoother “starchy” taste.
One photo shows a BIG taro root, which Maw didn’t want me to peel with gusto. Another photo showed a partially peeled “gabi” with a “face”.
Here are two photos showing a “jackfruit” with its husk; contents; and “peanuts” – good for eating as snack!
Could these photos showing what appears to be mutated tomatoes (from our garden) indicate the effects of radiation sickness (from Fukushima, Japan)? Hmm.
Here are photos of two and one-half days worth of effort. Paw did the harvesting; while Maw did the dehydrating. I helped sort (with my weighing scale) 2 oz, 3 oz, 4 oz, and 5 oz; wash; peel; and slice the pieces. We all washed the tools and stored the fruits in freezer bags. And on the third day, we delivered bags to relatives and friends. (Only the ungrateful Twit wifey did NOT personally call the main land-line to thank us for the persimmons and chayote squash.)
Before storing and ultimately cooking your chayote squash in a chicken-base soup of garlic, onion, ginger, and flavored with fish sauce, salt, pepper, whatever; harvest, peel, cut, and wash the green veggies.
Here are the weights in ounces: 28.6, 23.6, 23.3, 22.8, 22.7, and 18.9.
