  • 20090923-Tweaking Again

    Well, I’m back to the free theme here at WordPress.com: Dusk by Becca Wei. It’s new and improved. Check it out! I’m tired of changing themes and will [probably] stay with this one.

    For details, here is a list of the latest tweaks to my weblog:

    • Lightened background color to gray, a neutral shade.
    • Adjusted margins and paddings for both sidebar and content.
    • Used six widgets.
      • Text widget of table containing a tagline, an image with caption, a simple greeting and two links to the feeds for both the posts and comments.
      • Text widget of main menu containing nine parent pages, complete with brief descriptions in italic and in mouse over.
      • Search form widget for inquiries within my weblog.
      • Flickr widget of  current three images from maximum display of ten for `Orgone and Orgonite` administered by MessiahMews.
      • Text widget of table containing an image of four books authored by Don Bradley linking to a hosted site by MessiahMews.
      • Text widget of five links to donate, link, translate, disclaimer and copyright.

    Personal PROs:

    • Customer header of a cloud formation featuring an image of a sylph.
    • Wrapper width of 780px to accommodate screen resolutions of 800 by 600 pixels.
    • Two columns with the sidebar floating left and the content floating right.
    • Full visibility of posts in archives mode.
    • Ordered and listed elements perfect.
    • Automatic adjustments for browser zooms.
    • Time/date stamp and meta data underneath the post title.

  • 20090810-Death Imagery

    While I almost finished with the most recent article to `No More Fake News`, I suddenly remembered something that has been bothering for a long time. People moving along in pews to receive the Eucharist remind me of cattle being corralled to meet their death in an abattoir!

    On Saturday, there was a brief conversation with the bio-units while driving home from errands. I told the old timers of a movie, Soylent Green, in which people who reached a ripe age of adulthood would be put out to green pastures in a celebration of death. In reality, the people were processed as foodstuff to feed an already overpopulated society.

  • 20090806-UFO Shapes

    After trying to search online for a particular photo unsuccessfully, my prayers were answered! After mass, there were reading materials on the oak wooden table against the wall near the women’s bathroom of the lobby to the church. Maw wanted a `Our Lady in Art 2010 Calendar` from Basilica of the National Shrine of the Immaculate Conception.

    But I spotted and got a copy of the Vol. 10, No. 4, April 2009 edition to the `Living with Christ – Your Daily Companion For Praying & Living The Eucharist`. In the middle of this Italian painting, there appears to be two trees in the shape of UFO’s, which is similar to the shape of a Mexican sombrero. Further, the closest resemblance between the trees and a hat is a UFO as seen in the Mojave Desert, CA in 1952.

    I believe UFO’s have been around for a long time as portrayed in art and clothing.

  • 20070414-Feathered Cleaner

    Notice how the lime-green color and general roundish shape compare to the late big Budgie with a Miele brand vacuum cleaner, which I bought from John (an Italiano who is married to a Filipino residing in the Philippines with children) on April 14, 2007 because it reminds me of her.

    She was purchased from a pet store full of reptiles (now closed and replaced by West Coast Karate in Saratoga, CA) as a companion to Percy (or Persimmon), the parakeet. The pet store girl wore big leather gloves, meant for larger parrots as she crushed Budgie against the glass enclosure to get a grip. Later, we visited the same shop and saw possibly her sister among her siblings flying down and happily eating a fruit. I wanted to purchase all of them but knew I cannot afford or house them properly.

  • 20050224-Feathered Storm

    Notice the eerie similarities of the names of Percy the parakeet, who was found by a persimmon tree in our backyard and Cyclone Percy, which affected the areas of abominations: American Samoa, Tokelau and Cook Islands.

    One day during their bird bath, the top of the cage came open when Maw mistakenly grabbed the top, thinking it was a handle. Out came Percy and his second born chick, Pimon. Both flew away to our Persimmon tree, only Pimon came back without his dad. Both Maw and Paw attempted to retrieve him in the same small cage, which he climbed into himself and probably out of hunger years ago.

    This was the the same time the cyclone appeared, symbolizing our profound grief and loss of a beloved pet. Maw cried for days. I too cried too and perhaps that storm was manifested from my most deep seated sadness, if not anger, towards TPTB who reside in and around those islands, including Hawaii, by the way.

    Notice how similar the Star Trek Communicator is to my PCS Vision Picture Phone VGA1000 by Samsung. Both are lightweight, hand-held communication devices, except my cellphone is smaller in size plus it has internet access!

  • 20090616-Prayer Journal

    Maw was cleaning out one of her drawer (center) from her mirrored furniture, a first as a newly wed long ago, and pulled out a handkerchief, which her late eldest sister, Nita, gave to her many years ago. Nita told Maw to keep it in her handbag; for it is supposed to protect her. It is currently laying on a white, plastic table for viewing later on in the living room. It’s mostly in Filipino (or specifically Tagalog). Only Paw seemed to be able to interpret the words.

    I remember listening to a lovely song entitled `El Shaddai` as sung by Amy Grant and always wanted to know the lyrics to this song and hear it in its entirety. So, tonight was the time to find out, which I did by a quick search.

    While watching the video, I just cried, which usually means something this beautiful has TRUTH and touched my heart with her soothing voice, the piano playing softly in the background and the strong visual aides. Below are the lyrics per video:

    Long ago while shopping @ farmers’ market (Milpitas, CA) with Maw, we were approached by a white guy with gray hair. He seemed to look at Maw and asked her: ‘What language do you speak’?

    Of course, I remembered a quote by ‘Al Bundy’ from the American sitcom, televised show entitled: ‘Married With Children‘. I loved that show and responded with a wide grin:

    Why? We speak AMERICAN!

    He looked down at his handful of coins and smiled while deciding which ones to hand to us. He handed us this circular-shaped object, probably said something and walked away as we took the our coin with thanks.
