  • 20111022-Trying Theme

Tonight and for $55.00 (a double-digit numerical value), I purchased a Premium Theme! That’s right! I’ve got 30 days to try out my new WordPress theme.

The layout of this theme is VERY simple. And this time I like reading SMALLER fonts. I noticed LARGER fonts make reading MUCH slower. More spaces in between lines/paragraphs and contents/sidebars tend to distract me.

The meta data  underneath the post title: “Written on [datetime stamp] by [author]” section for the ONE and ONLY excerpt found on the “index/front/home” page, followed by links for Edit, Categories, Tags and Comments section for the “single view” page.

The content is to the left of the sidebar widget. Five of my main/parent pages fit VERY nicely on the top navigation bar. But the “Site Title” feels too bulky for the small box on the upper right hand corner and on the lower left hand section of the footer. The “Search” form is located on the upper right hand corner.

The footer has the “Tagline” and default fields for RSS Posts and RSS Comments. Credit for the theme designer is given as usual here.

The most recent post entry is shown as an excerpt. The same goes for “Sticky Posts”. “Rate This” is shown on this excerpt.

“Recent Entries” show only the Post title; the meta and comments. “Recent Entries” can be changed via the “Reading Settings” of the Dashboard. A maximum of five “Recent Comments” is shown as excerpts.

  • Fix Site Stats…

Since the WordPress.com Support cannot be contacted until October 29: Can you please fix my site stats?

    • My other registered WordPress.com weblog (Private) has activities done on September and October 2011 while I’m still logged as admin.
    • Why are there 204 View from Today’s “Referrers”: WordPress.com?
    • Will NON-permalinks EVER be captured as part of the Site Stats?
    • Can you capture Site Stats to differentiate/include visits done via WordPress apps, such as Android, etc?
  • New Zemanta image settings…

A few minutes ago, I noticed three things as I was trying to insert a Recommended Image from Zemanta. And I saw the following message:

Hey! This is important. We changed the way images are inserted with Zemanta. Read more at our blog.

    • Images get inserted to blinking cursor position:
    • More than one image:

  • 20111020-Tweaking Again

Yeah. I think I better stop editing my posts too often. I noticed my online reader showed the updates of my OLD post and that’s not good, especially when subscribers get a dump on their emails.

So yesterday, I’ve set my Blog Site to “Private“; while I “Published” old posts that were temporarily set to “Private”, which I should have NOT done. Hopefully, this technique will allow for Bulk Actions of editing without the emails of my latest/updated blog entries emailed en masses.

Instead of using all Three Footer Areas, I placed all my widgets into the Main Sidebar, which is only visible when viewing the “index/front/home” page of my most recent posts. Of course, when viewing in the “single view” post, the Twenty-Eleven theme doesn’t show the Main Sidebar widgets.

So far, I have 26 posts set “Aside” and those appear as part of the “Ephemera” widget on the very top of the Main Sidebar; followed by the “static” widgets and then the “variable” widgets.

Some of these posts were originally saves as “Pages”, which are now five pages — About, FAQ, Flynn, Contact, and Notice. Only the “About” page show a “Showcase Template” of Recent posts and sidebar widgets.

  • Assuming call to help (again)…

Usually, I like to read feeds of bloggers if I have the time. But today, I Unsubscribed from blog sites via my online reader. So I’m down to a handful of the ones that appeal to my topics of interest: conspiracy and paranormal.

Sometimes, I would view unfortunate blog entries. And my heart goes out to them. For example, I see two “Clicks” to a dedicated blogger in my Site Stats. This sort of activity could mean something. But I am not sure.

Further as mentioned in my previous blog entry, the appearances of chemtrail-like clouds are but reminders/calling cards to people like me. But I do NOT understand the visual representations.

Honestly, I still have no income and have no luck looking for a job. I am worried about paying next year’s income tax and I still have to repay the old farts because the fat bastard has leaders who refuse to do the right things.

So I cannot help at this time. I think that is enough for now. Have a good evening!

  • Where did [my] future go?

After eleven slong years of hoping, planning and waiting, all that I had imagined in my small mind and kept to myself in thoughts have been misguided. Apparently, whatever was supposed to have been “promised and guaranteed” on signed “pieces of papers” never seemed to have manifested in my preferred reality. As a result, my credit has been ruined while I’m allowed to blog freely without much retribution for “keeping the peace” (or quiet of all matters by not whistleblower or tooting my/Satan’s horns ).

Instead, the truth as to the whereabouts of my darn hard work is not being made known to me. I don’t understand why the leaders continue to mock my intentions and why I cannot control whatever is due to me (and others, by the way). And I didn’t expect my retirement to be up in the air without first being informed of how my darn hard work is to be handled.

Who told these people that’s how I wanted things to be done? All that I’ve verbally expressed was just part of a “stream of consciousness” that didn’t have to ruin other people’s lives! Did I agree to be part of their shenanigans other than what I expected based on what was written? What are these people waiting for? It’s all there!

Being FED up won’t do much because TPTB and pals are being FED with lots of fear.

  • Want more better…

While trolling my Site Stats, there are zero views today. All-time views are 70,733. “There were 371 views on [my] busiest day, August 20, 2011.” And the dramatic reduction in blog stats is due to changing the Privacy Settings from a Site Visibility of “Allow search engines to index this site” to “Ask search engines not to index this site.” (Note: Neither of these options blocks access to your site — it is up to search engines to honor your request.)

And so it is: the death of my blogging addiction. Begone and behold the following grim data:

I want my money and freedom back from TPTB and pals! Blogging today is no better than it was before the internet ruined my life!

  • 20111016-Daily Stuff

At 12:37am, I’ve finished 41 more Plinky.com prompts rather quickly. Earlier this evening for about two hours or so, I’ve shared 345 old prompts in my other registered WordPress.com weblog.

Earlier this morning and prior to attending this evening’s mass, I’ve archived old posts. I learned that fifty items per bulk action is a good number to work with when pressed for time.

I figured that blogging too much is not good. It just makes archiving that much harder. So I’ll try to create one BIG post per day. But I don’t think that will work well because a generic post title doesn’t tell the readers much.

The usual three course meals were eaten and hair cuts were done (Maw to Paw, Moi to Maw and Maw to Moi). Parakeets were overfed and sluggish, too. Maw completed her “embroidered” stiches using her Brother’s sewing machinge. Now my two long-sleeve sweat shirt has pretty designs.

The day was filled with wispy clouds, popcorn clouds (like yesterday) and HAARP clouds, too. The sunshine was its usual bright and white self but the winds blew cool with this evenings air being that much colder.

  • Last two pages…

I’ve deleted four more pages and now I’m down to two static pages: About and Contact. Logically, I have placed the About page as a parent page to two children — FAQ and Flynn. The About page could also serve as a Table of Contents or Sitemap page, too. The Contact page is also a parent page with no children. I guess I had too much to say and no one has the time or care to read through ALL my content. It is much better to keep everything short and simple. I found out first hand how impatient a person I AM, not that it means anything self-fulfilling but that’s how I should or any blogger should present their content — one liners and a photo — and that’s all it takes for those who like to take quick glances at each blog entry.

  • Inactive sidebar…

So I’m cleaning up my other registered WordPress.com blog and met the following message:

    Inactive Sidebar (from previous theme)

This is a left over sidebar from an old theme and does not show anywhere on your site

It was a an old RSS Links widget with Large, Orange Texts & Image Links for both Posts & Comments. And after I deleted that widget and refreshed that webpage, this middle section disappeared altogether!

  • Six pages left..

So after doing the yard work and after four hours of blogging, I’ve reduced my static pages to only six:

The decision to create a new “Main Menu” was made out of frustration. I needed to streamline my blog. And so the old pages were moved to posts, which I could tag and attach images! Besides, the sidebar widgets will pick up the Archives, Links and other pages I’ve deleted, like Stats. I am hoping for more SHORTCODES!
