Describing my immediate surroundings towards the beginning and a twist to the tale or possible solutions to issues towards the end of some blogs and how they relate to my expectations of the world at large.

  • Navigating your blog

Wow! Last night, I was thinking about updating my customized Menus modeled after a Premium Theme: Shelf to show: Aside, Gallery, Image and Quote. But this theme and like most WordPress.com themes (including WordPress.org) do NOT seem to include my favorite time stamp in a readable text version. Their version is a hover/mouse over “title” attribute to the date/time stamps.

So last night, I’ve set my primary weblog to “Privacy” many times. I was “retagging” old posts as “Asides” for entries done via my cellphones. I could tell because the “Excerpt” view during the “BULK EDIT” does NOT have prompts for “Continue reading—>” and the “word count” is around 140 characters with spaces.

Further, I made use of the new “Post format” via “BULK EDIT” and (again) “retagged” old blogs to reflect “Gallery” for more than one “Images”. I did general searches of my post with “wpid” attachments, including files for “.jpg”, “.png“, “.jpeg“, “.pdf”, and “.gif“.

“Audio” files of just “.wav” and “.mp3” were also “retagged”. As for the “Video”, that didn’t work.

“How can I add posts to pages on my blog?

  • Blogging for the long haul…

I am most produtive at night when all the house chores and other activities have been completed. I can realistically write very few thoughts nowadays. My notes via the “Memo” apps of my cellphone help to remind me of mundane events but the inspiration to blog about anything worthwhile has lost its spark, magic, enthusiasm — almost like going through a mid-life crisis.

Ask yourself, when am I most productive? And how much can I realistically write? Get a blogging buddykeep a notebook with you and jot down ideas, phrases, story lines the old school waydon’t force it.

  • 20111113-Bored Again

Hallelujah! I’m bored again. Instead of blogging, I decided to watch videos on YouTube. So I trolled a site on classic toys, then the front page for human/alien hybrids to beautiful eyes. Then I saw gross stuff about extraction of cysts and spider bites! Yuch! If it were not for the media outlets like blogging, videos, gaming, and yes porno, I’m sure people — the 99% — that are mostly dummies, would express themselves outdoors. Now I’m not suggesting they’d harm/hurt themselves and others. But computers do society a favor — by keeping the criminals preoccupied with whatever interests them online! (That was an old topic of an OPEN forum discussion board on the largest conspiracy site, by the way.)

  • 20111031-Tweaking Again

I’m addicted to blogging! I now have FOUR (4) registered WordPress.com weblog sites! I realize most of my material are RANTS, which is 89% (or a total of 9134 before exporting/importing the other 11% to the other two new sites)!

So I’ll have to review my mind-set and figure out the direction of my path, love and/or life. So far, I see another four more years of “hidden help”. Hehehe!

One blog is for “My Daily Posts” from Plinky.com and dailyposts.wordpress.com.

One blog is for my “dreams, poems, prayers and more”.

The other blog is dead and has to do with “gifting and healing the environment”.

This primary blog, once again, is mixed up — politics, relationships, religion, conspiracy and paranormal! I’m having a difficult time trying to categorized each blog entry. I realize that the overlapping of thoughts, topics, and issues is not good for blogging.

Oh! And I was trying to tweak my blog via the Full Site and I noticed that the right Scrollbar to the Categories section via the “post.php” edit page doesn’t work!!! So I had to sneak back upstairs and leave Maw for a bit with the trick or treaters. But I can hear if there are people/noises, thanks to my EXPENSIVE 32-channel hearing aide!

  • About page…

I’ve deleted two more pages: FAQ and FLYNN. These two pages were combined into the About page. Page one is a short introduction and does not have an image to set it off from the rest of the content. Page two is the FAQ page; while Page three is the FLYNN page. Former pages are in the “frequently asked questions” format. The total number of STATIC pages of this weblog site is now four: Home, About, Contact and Notice.

  • A static page…

Okay. I think I’m temporarily happy with the Twenty-Eleven theme of dark gray background and hot pink fonts.

A few minutes ago, my VERY sleepy mind has come up with a compromise/solution:

    • Set the “About” page as a “FRONT/Home/static page”;
    • Allow the “weekly” Nom-Noms to serve as the “POSTS/Archives/static page”;
    • Set the “About” page as “Showcase Template” for the Ephemera widget of my precious Posts (which were formerly Pages) and Recent posts; and
    • Set the Layout to “Content on left” to allow for the display of “Sidebar” widgets on the right while viewing the “Content” in either the “index/archive” view, not possible in the “single page” view with the Twenty-Eleven theme at this time.

    Voila!

  • 20111026-Tweaking Again

So, I’ve tweaked my “PATHETIC” blog site by trying different themes and color schemes. I came up with dark gray background and pink fonts based on a Premium Theme, which I was tempted to purchase. But since I couldn’t make up my mind and I know that doing multiple refunds is NOT good business practice and downright dishonest/troublesome, I’ll try to keep the Eight theme by Automattic until something prettier comes up (hopefully before the 30 days).

What I noticed with this theme is the glowing Gravatar. When the mouse is placed over the Gravatar (and as long as the Hovercard feature is turned”on”), you will notice a faint glow around the perimeter of the “profile card”. This “glow” is especially noticeable when the background color is dark.

  • 20111026-Tweaking Again

I’ve tweaked and I’ve tweaked and I’ve tweaked so more pages from my “Living with Orgone” site. There are 14 published pages and two private posts. There are no sidebars on this site.

There is definitely something wrong with the Blog Stats: It keeps recording my OWN activities! And there was delay to show 119 views in one day! That was from editing my pages several times! I give up! Something is not right with WordPress.com.

The “Links” page of that orgone site has five of the six links, which can be found in the sidebar widget as “blogroll”, instead of my other Categories, such as “pals” or “links”. It doesn’t make sense to make a long list.

As for my main blog site, the sidebar element almost lines up with the content element (or front/home page). Again, I must strive for keeping my site and entries, short and simple, spic and span, clean and cleaner. Whatever.

  • Publishing site again…

Well, I will re-publish my other registered WordPress.com weblog site at midnight because the Blog Stats is ruined!

For whatever reason, each time I clicked on my OWN pages while signed on my account as administrator, the page view is counted and that’s not right! I wonder if the Support will fix this bug!

My OWN activities appear “live” since last month even though that site has remained on “PRIVATE” mode. I feel blogging has lost meaning because of all these hard coding changes.

The contents will be the old stuff of mostly pages instead of daily post entries, which can be found here in my primary weblog site.

Okay. I changed my mind about the Privacy Settings. I will go ahead and change the Site Visibility from ” I would like my site to be private, visible only to users I choose” to “Allow search engines to index this site.”

    It’s Living with Orgone.

  • 20111024-Tweaking Again

For the past few minutes to an hour or so, I’ve been trying out different names for the Site Title and Tagline.

I wanted to keep “The Blogging Path” with/out the credit “by Flynn” as part of the Site Title. But because the credit already appears after the Site Title when viewing the posts for Mobile Site users, I had to create a new Site Title.

So I trolled the various online dictionaries and found that the word “Path” looks like “Pathetic”! And that sums up my overall experience with blogging online as the word perfectly describes as “Pathetic”!

I tried “The Pathetic Blog of Life” but the line wraps around to next/third line within the small box of the Eight theme by Automattic. So I tried “The Blogging Pathetic’s Life” but it was too long (winded). Now it’s back to “The Blogging Path” but with “A Memoir” attached with a dash.

As for the Tagline, it reads as: “Topics on Alternative Notions and Random Rants”. Again, I had to look up the meaning of notions but keep thinking about sewing notions, such as pins, needles, buttons, threads, etc.

I may change the names later on (again).

  • More traffic wanted…

I noticed that there is a feature which would help to INCREASE my blog stats, a personal gauge on the health of my weblog. It is found under the Extras section of the Appearance in the Dashboard. I am still NOT sure if I should uncheck the second item but will test it out for a while after the Support team fixes how blog stats are recorded (as per my many suggestions).

    “Extras

    Extras updated

These are general extras that you can enable for your entire blog.

    • Display a mobile theme when this blog is viewed with a mobile browser
    • Hide related links on this blog, which means this blog won’t show up on other blogs or get traffic that way”
  • A tip on syndication feeds…

I just saw the following message on my dashboard. It reads as:

“Tip: Your syndication feeds are set to show the most recent 60 posts. Change it to 10 or 15 posts to make your feed load faster.”

I guess I’d better set both blog pages and/or syndication fees to 15. But I’d like my “contents” section to fill up/match the left side/sidebars to the right.

    • Blog pages show at most [enter number here] posts
    • Syndication feeds show the most recent [enter number here] items
