  • Bought Typekit Fonts

Tonight I bought an “Upgrade from Trial plan to Personal plan” for $25.99 per year for five fonts per one weblog.

    I’m currently using:

    Mahalia by Insigne Design

    About this font

Mahalia draws inspiration from vintage hand-lettering, but adds a modern, European twist. Strongly slanted at a 25 degree angle, Mahalia draws immediate interest, but is still graceful. More about Mahalia…

It will be harder to read my weblog with this font. But I love the cursive writing. It’s smooth and makes my weblog a bit more feminine through the more masculine colors. I tried the Baroque Text by Veer, but that one was washed out my narrowly-spaced fonts.

The only way to my Typekit work is to purchase a CSS upgrade via WordPress.com AND to upgrade your Typekit, too.

  • R.I.P Simon

A few minutes ago Paw and Maw called. They will bury my Simon now while the rain is not pouring. The boy had suggested to bury the little parakeet now because he cannot attend the burial.

    R.I.P. my trinket-head.

  • Simon Dead

Maw just called around 2:04pm and reported that Simon has died . She found him on the floor with blood in his mouth. She said that Simon was eating a lot last night and had played with him – shaking hands. She told the boy that of Simon’s passing. R.I.P.

  • 20101208-Weathery Ways

Yesterday was high-altitude, pop-corn clouds. During my afternoon walk, I saw how the sun filtered through these clouds. The halo around the sun was diffused in appearance. The air was calm and sometimes the winds blew icy cold.

Today, it’s raining! Lots of white clouds cover the skies. I don’t see dark gray clouds. The front and side parking lots to our local parish was stuffed full. Fortunately for the twosome, they found a parking stall in the front; while I circled three times around the front, once off the side and parked in the back.

    Today is the Immaculate Conception.

  • Simon Seizure

Simon, the third of four siblings, has had seizures for most his life. The little olive-colored, yellow-speckled parakeet probably had a severe seizure last night (or perhaps a mini-stroke). Maw said Simon might have caught his foot on the swing.

But I witnessed how his right foot had gotten a severe cramp. His little pink foot wouldn’t open as he struggled to regain a footing on the swing while he gripped for dear life with his left foot on the cage. I yelloed for the boy to grab him or at least catch him in case Simon fell down.

The bird flew around in the cage in fright and then settled down on a swing. I had to grab his tail to make sure he doesn’t fall off the swing while the boy tried to feed him water, which Simon wouldn’t take. The bird’s eyes were wide, like Binky his daughter, whom he doesn’t recognize.

I sent the boy a message to not come over the house when his energy signature is too restless. But the baffoon doesn’t get it and continues to push is pre-diabetic body by jogging during lunch. His presence already caused Maw a severe cramping on her right thigh.

People like him hurt other people, including parakeets. It may also have been the concentrated vitamin liquid supplement I placed in the birds’ water container. I do not know.

  • I’m trying to enter this “Blog Post” …

I’m trying to enter this “Blog Post” via P2 by Automattic. I’ve entered a “Tag” called blogging. Next I’m trying a “Citation” or “Quote” by moi, such as “Help me!”. You can view this sample “Blog Posts” via http://thebloggingpath.wordpress.com/blog/. The “Link” button doesn’t seem to work. I don’t know what the “Status Update” does.

    Help me!

  • 20101207-Trying Theme

After one day (or night) with Theme: Sandbox 1.6.2., I gave up trying to play around with my paid CSS upgrade. My employer’s web browser is still IE7! And the “drop-down” feature of my precious “Custom Menu” on the top/navigation bar does NOT work!

As a result, I’m trying P2 by Automattic without the sidebars. The “home page” is now front and center and sports an image of Satan falling down. The friggin’ “Custom Menu” is below the image and is really HTML codes and links! There are features, such as “Header” and “Background” and a group functionality of posting.

So I got my wish again – the appearance of a webpage with the engine of a weblog and the time/date stamps. There are no templates for “Archives” and “Links”.

Addendum-Last edited by FLYNN on 20101208 at 07:00:09 AM UTC: Bah! I’ve switch theme back to Tarski by Benedict Eastaugh and Chris Sternal-Johnson. Nice and neat!

    “If I did a good job, [I wouldn’t kiss your @ss!]”
~Tess with the new guy just right pass my desk…

    “Oh! Look at the skies!”
~Charissa at the printer to moi around 5:00pm…

“you both are doing a great job!”
    ~Emal from blob at 1:57pm…

Comments like these are unwarranted. Go f^ck yourselves!

If there is a job better paying than this crap, then it’s good!

If I didn’t make loud typing noises for the past one hour, I would be outdoors where the nice pink clouds are!

If we did such as great job, you wouldn’t be the assumed cheer-“leader” of the team!

  • Double Worded

I’ve been tweaking my prettier blog for the past few hours! It’s got happier colors. It’s my internet addiction, really.

My weblog has mostly double words and that’s just for convention of showing a brief description with one noun and one adjective or one verb of the link.

Notice the following examples taken from my “front/home page”:

    • Word(s) Press – New Search form featuring editing for “Title” and “Button Text”.
    • Read on! – Custom menu show blogs to display at most as three.

The rest, too, can be figured out easily, such as:

    • “About site”;
    • “Meet Flynn”; and
    • “Contact Flynn”.
  • Oh, Plan!

    In recent news:

Republicans achieve top goal in Obama tax-cut plan
By CHARLES BABINGTON, Associated Press Charles Babington, Associated Press – 8 mins ago

WASHINGTON – Republicans control neither the House nor the Senate — and certainly not the White House.

Republicans prevailed on their biggest demand: continuing Bush administration tax cuts for the wealthiest Americans, despite Obama’s 2008 campaign promise to let them expire for households earning more than $250,000 a year. Obama, while acknowledging Democratic unrest, agreed to extend the tax breaks for two years, whereas Republicans wanted a permanent extension.

His plan also would renew jobless benefits for the long-term unemployed, and grant a one-year reduction in Social Security taxes paid by workers but not by employers.

The proposed Social Security tax cut would apply to virtually every working American. For one year they would pay 4.2 percent of their income, instead of 6.2 percent, to the government retirement program, fattening U.S. paychecks by $120 billion in 2011.

Obama said he reluctantly made another concession to Republicans, concerning the estate tax. It would tax estates worth more than $5 million at a rate of 35 percent, a GOP goal. Democrats favored a $3.5 million threshold, with a 45 percent tax on anything higher.

Under his plan, unemployment benefits would remain in effect through the end of next year for workers who have been laid off for more than 26 weeks and less than 99 weeks. Without an extension, 2 million individuals would have lost their benefits over the holidays, the White House said, and 7 million would have done so by the end of next year.

Looks good to me. Any problems? Let me know because I’m seriously clueless on all levels of operation. Bahahaha!

  • Prettier Blog

Finally! I’ve made my blog prettier! But I still need to refine certain ELEMENTS via my paid CSS upgrade! The most recently added theme has done me justice.

I’ve got what I wanted in a blog: site title/tagline, custom menus, date/time stamps, templates for “Archives” and “Links”, etc. The colors are reminiscent of seabreeze – cool blue, hot pink and creamy whites. Bahahaha!

However, the theme lacked features for “Header” or more “Theme Options”, such as default layouts and asides. I give up! Maybe this isn’t the best WordPress.com theme for moi. Whatever! Waahh!

  • 20101206-Trying Theme

Yippie! I’m happy again! Really? Hell no! Why? I’m not satisfied! Dammit! What’s wrong with you? I can’t help it! I don’t know CSS all that well.

    Tonight, I’m trying:

Sandbox 1.6.2 by Andy Skelton & Scott Allan Wallick

Rich with powerful and dynamic semantic class selectors, Sandbox is a canvas for CSS artists

I can’t seem to code the “auto width”; the “entry meta” and the “access” elements perfected to my preference! Sheesh!
