  • 20060704-Freedom Love

    Greetings:
Happy Fourth everyone and welcome back to my long-winded attempt at creative writing. My apology is to my readers for not providing feedback of my boring and simple life. The recovery of my flare-ups has been painfully slow and now I am able to sit longer hours in front of the computer.

During my downtime, I find composing poems more enjoyable and challenging than storytelling via my blogs, which may at times be more revealing than necessary to the billions of souls. My recent discovery of different poetry schemes, or types, has allowed me to create better ones by revising my original masterpieces, which are now deleted from this blogging service.

    Future Choice:
So far, this long weekend holiday helped me relax more and sleeping is all I did. I was with my bio-units by walking around the mall and doing various errands. After much chatting with this older guy, I have realized that I cannot live with my bio-units forever. I may have to take a big risk and move, say, over to Florida where better opportunities await me.

There are several reasons why I should choose to decide to leave my home of over three decades and build a new life elsewhere. One is that I’m not happy being single and would like to get married and raise a family. Two is that I have business endeavors that I’d like to pursue with a business minded man that I’ve met via a chatting service.

With my wanderlust attitude and global ideals, my choice would be perfect in this case. Traveling would be nice at least in the early part of the relationship and then I could start popping out those brats to see them through their adult lives. I’d make a great head of the house, which is the default for any ‘normal’ bio-unit.

I’d cook, clean and garden like a good mother and I’d kick, scream and cry like any normal postpartum and menopausal wife. I’d brave the storm of heated arguments with my spouse and relish the calm of romance with my love. As an idealist, I expect my long-term earth mate to behave to my every bidding and conform to my desires.

The fireworks of today were watched at the comfort of my home on televised programming as I made two batches of crepe dough. The dough is best strained to remove those lumps. While Maw and Paw cleaned up the dinner table and did the dishes and trash, I proceeded to make about two dozen wraps for Maw to stuff with her vegetables. A copter buzzed our house at 09:30PM.

    Stupid Letter:
And as I blog, Maw continues to talk long distance with Cling, her sister-in-law, about a letter we received from that uncle Dead from the East Bay. Maw has revealed what a bunch of idiots my relatives are for allowing their lack of motivation to help each other in times of need. It seems that Malnorm needs a driver and Dead, who lives the closest to this sister, expects the rest of his siblings and other relatives to take turns in the responsibilities.

The siblings, of course, have their own lives to live and none is completely close to each other to care for the other; since there is no monetary compensation either to motivate anyone to volunteer their time or effort. The letter was simply unwarranted and shows how unintelligent and selfish some people are, no matter how tiring or altruistic the driving efforts may be to some people.

The point is that the couple, Malnorm and that deceased Allbutt, did not prepare for their old age. Now this is plain dumb and anyone reading this blog better go to their legal or financial representative and discuss their future before death comes knocking at the doors. The ‘loved ones’ will not have to suffer much because the documents drafted would be handled by professionals, by the way.

While sitting at the McDonald’s place this morning with my bio-units and while other ‘watchers’ heard our conversation, my most obvious opinion would be for the old hag to sell her house, which she refuses. This would allow her to spend the money, find a living assistance community to avoid being scared in her now empty house and avoid depending on her siblings for free rides to visit the dead man’s grave and the doctor’s appointments or to attend parties or masses.

The worse case scenario is to stick the old hag into a nursing home just as the three daughters have done to their old mother, whom we visited this Monday evening. This is karma well deserved for the eldest daughter who mistreated the old lady. Now that the old hag has no where else to turn, this is what is coming to her. The siblings may mistreat her just as she has done to her own mother.

    Visiting Granny on 07-02-2006:
We visited old Granny from 06:15PM to 08:00PM. I awoke her with a snapshot of her sleeping form underneath a candy cane striped bed cover of red and white color. She smiled with her nice grin and tufted up white hair, which I later combed after finding it somewhere in the small drawer underneath the television.

She ate our fried chicken, fried fish, steamed rice and watermelon immediately and I took pictures of this event. I gave her my green tea, pear flavored breath mint which she did not seem to like. I took her picture again which shows the mint through her grin. There was another snapshot of her making the L@!n#z trademark ‘fish face’ by puckering up the lips towards the nose.

I am disgusted with my aunties and I know Granny is going to die there soon because nursing homes only watch, feed and assist the residents, unlike the hospitals where there is medical treatment available when necessary. I’ve heard that her kidneys may be failing and may be the cause for her swollen foot.

She has a swollen left foot and, according to the nurse, no one addressed the problem. Granny doesn’t remember how she got it but flinched from pain when Maw touched the inside ankle in front of the nurse, who later gave old Granny two over the counter pain killers.

As a matter of fact, all her toenails have not been trimmed or polished! This is disgusting! Only her fingernails were painted with this fuchsia color so people could see how presentable she looks. I took several pictures of her feet too for my archive.

Furthermore, Granny has edema, which is excessive fluid, around her swollen ankles. Maw pushed in the area beneath the left calf and the imprints of her fingers stayed on the flesh. Also, Granny smelled of urine, especially in the hair. I am not happy about the condition of this woman and wonder if the daughters have time for her anymore.

She is not completely with dementia and does retain some long term memories. For several times, she recalls from long ago in her province that a batoo, or stone, landed on her right index toe, which she tried to explain as being twice its size and that Brat is taking classes in the escuela, or school.

More pictures were taken, including the words I wrote on the Mother’s Day card. This picture has been uploaded to my blog around that time. I am sure the people who taped up that big card on Granny’s wall understood my message of the underlined words of ‘remember.’

As we escorted the old woman out the lobby, we were intercepted by a couple who does prayers and gives communions. They are in league with my other nasty auntie, Mallow. We left old Granny with the couple. The wife is a known chismosa, or gossiper, and we left right away.

The stupid part is the minds of both Granny and another old lady is not there. Both old people are hard of hearing and that is sad because the words of the Lord sure fell on deaf ears on these two that day!

    Summary:
Freedom is always there ringing in my ears during the past month with head pressures being very unbearable and stuffy as I try to live normal life in front of the computer at work as a pod person and at home as a novice poet and writer. I am hopeful for better days ahead.

Freedom is always there for the smart people who know how to live their lives independently without the assistance of others. Being nice is good only up to a certain point before the welcome disappears. There is still a chance for people to prepare for the worse.

Freedom is always for the young at heart and we made old Granny laugh in spite of her sentiment of not being to leave the nursing home and live with her eldest daughter, Malnorm. The chance of being loved by the few is priceless and this is true freedom.

  • 20060620-Help Heal

Tonight there was little done and said. After my arrival from work, I immediately went upstairs and sat down in front of my computer and read more articles online to further confuse my worldview. I only know that when I’m still there can only be peace. Maw came by a few minutes later to inquire if I will eat dinner.

We ate our dinner of chicken soup with green mustard leaves; small gabi potatoes and carrots. We discussed the attitudes of selfish people and how hurtful their words could be in spite of our being helpful and nice. We concluded that, no matter how much we try to be there for the people we had hope to return our love, the efforts are never enough to satisfy the hard-headed and cold-hearted folks.

Our other distraction for the night was watching the Fat Budgie flirt with Simon, who shares BooBoo’s affection with the more aggressive and younger Bugsy. She jumps more frequently from one swing to the other one on the far end and from one perch to another. I fed some oat groats to my spoiled brats. Bugsy is getting more comfortable with hand feeding. I talked to them with Pimon bobbing his head up and down in front of me and kissing my nose in affection through the cage bars.

After throwing Paw’s recyclables only, Maw wanted me to cut her hair. My skills are not that great but I managed to trim the hairline at the nape and around the ears with the electric shaver. The shaver is by far easier to handle than with ordinary scissors. Then I vacuumed up the fallen hair particles from off of Maw, the floor and the equipment. As a matter of fact, I seemed to have forgotten to replace the container and plastic hair catcher back into its storing place as I enter this blog.

Later, Maw limped towards me and requested that I work on her left knee. She said there were clicking noises and pain inside the joint. So I told her to lie down on her bed and started to work my hands as they seem to know what do to next. There is really no thinking involved as I stretched and bended her knee and kneecap. After only five minutes and around 08:43PM, my job was accomplished. Maw saved money on therapy and time with strangers.

As usual and to her astonishment, she claimed there is no longer the pinching pain when she walked. Today, she had walked around the mall in her effort to stay fit even though both her knees won’t allow much motion. The knee area did look shiny and swollen though. And I suggested placing an ice pack over the affected area. She is currently relaxing in front of her television inside her room and with the ice pack on her knee.

With practice, helping and healing can come as easy as putting on clothes. Once again, my intention to do work of good has been possible with friendly beings and is much easier than trying to pretend. Each one of us has at least a unique ability that does not need feedback from others. Moreover, a clear conscience and the connection to one’s personal God are more effective without religious dogmas and with unconditional love.

  • 20060619-Boxes Air

The sound of silence was in the air today at work. Both temps were quiet and well behaved and I do not miss their noise. The other noise came from co-workers who greeted me briefly. I felt stuffy from the warm air inside building while wearing my long sleeve and was not at all willing to participate in their noise. I hate noise because that means I have to stay awake and actually work hard all day. I don’t like to work, which explains my indifference towards this ‘team work’ attitude.

As a loner and boring person, there is nothing more annoying than people working close together towards a common goal. This serves the selfish behavior to earn more money via the profit or revenue for the company. The logic is that as a whole we all benefit from a company that does well. If that were true, I should not be sitting down the whole day and work the normal eight hour shift with less pay. There should not have to be more people than necessary to accomplish what one person could do alone.

I should be working at home with more pay and less hours. I should not answer phones, emails or replay to help desk tickets. The work should literally pay for itself. This is my ideal work and perhaps I see myself as an entrepreneur. I should live up to that capitalistic expectation and earn my bogus bucks that way from the comfort of my home. The obstacle happens to be the lack of resources to make this dream of mine happen.

My dreams could be self fulfilling. I could buy all the luxury goods to show off to family or friends. I perhaps could donate my time and energy towards charity work and find peace with those in the most need. I’d readily dismiss any religious or spiritual endeavors or ministries because I’ve had enough confusion in this lifetime already. There are, of course, the vacations I could take to nowhere and everywhere and meet people this way.

Going on long vacations is what I’d like to do more frequently. Mini-vacations usually leave me exhausted than relaxed. The longer ones allow my system adjust to the air, food, water and into the overall ambiance of the places. If I stayed long enough, I could learn to speak foreign languages. Unfortunately, the comfort of my bed is more important than living a dream. I believe this is what is referred to as sleeping people.

People who sleep too much don’t seem to want to wake up and are at best lazy. They dream mostly in their sleep and for them that is as good as a vacation. Some might as well have a television in their bedroom and tune into adventures as a form of mental vacation. The physical part could be done with someone special and in bed. And that is almost as good as taking off into oblivion without ever leaving the bedroom, a virtual box.

Another box involved today’s chat online at work. This brought two strangers together in the mental sphere of amusement. I knew that the chatter was only interested in relieving himself by finding a date he could never find in the normal way. I knew I wanted nothing more than to helpt me use time at work to know this person online as a safer version of dating. Once again, the process of elimination for potential dating material is easy because I could tell if the person is sincere in their friendship.

The second box was tonight’s visit at ‘Squirrel-Ling’s’ house. This brought us siblings together with the united effort of hugs. I said very little and was not excited. Initially, he argued his ground of being too tired from hiking almost five hours to answer the door for a couple of minutes to greet me one weekend and as an uninvited guest. His attitude has been selfish and his learning to behave properly has not improved by much. We left knowing our delivery of his dinner into his house was his cunning guise so we could see his new bedroom and dining set.

Both events were temporary and left a behind some bitterness in my efforts to connect with selfish people. People, like the temps, make noise to be heard and seen. People, like me, share themselves to be liked and admired. People, like the chatter and ‘Squirrel-Ling,’ continue to believe they are right no matter how annoying their behaviors or unrelenting their prides.

Overall, everyone loves to be loved in return. And this is all we need without wanting to ask. For those who do ask to be acknowledged and loved, one needs to look within as the first step.

  • 20060618-Father’s Day

Today is Father’s Day. All three of us attended the 07:00AM mass with Brat coming a bit later on his own. That was all that mattered when all four of us are together under the same roof of our church. I continued to suffer in silence as I sat for one long hour on the hard wooden pew.

On our way out, we met our elementary school teacher, ‘Mrs. Esber’. She remembered my full name and couldn’t recognize Brat who was noted for being quiet then and is taller now than expected.

Maw was proud and talked about her son’s success in purchasing a new home and without any co-signers. We then confirmed that the children have been greedier and that the school uniforms reduce envy and violence.

In the parking lot, Brat was told by my bio-units to go home. The couple was waiting for the arrival of their new dining set. The hour of delivery at 07:30AM seemed too early and from our experience the time would be much later. We all left separate ways.

After using the bathroom and changing into our comfortable outfits, Paw drove the Benz to a restaurant. I was in pain and couldn’t drive well after coming home from church and requested he try his best to get there. He needed to be told where to exit. And I ended up raising my voice at my Paw and in apprehension from the back seat because I was no longer the driver.

We enjoyed our breakfast meal. My bio-units got the power breakfast and I ordered for them. Two scrambled eggs, white toast, potatoes and meat. I got the oatmeal with four toasts and fruits, which I shared with Paw. Both Maw and I got second coffee refills while Paw got only half the liquid on his hot chocolate because the whip cream occupied most of the mug.

Paw wanted to go see a movie but had to be told my butt hole was still aching and recovery was slower than expected partially due to sitting down at work. I suggested we go walk around the nearby mall after Paw made a right turn from the restaurant.

Maw remembered the flea market a few blocks down and we found our way to the place after making a U-turn from this road. The narrow opening of the parking lot didn’t allow the Benz to clear the right side and Paw had to reverse a little to avoid scratching his car.

We got out and the flea market was smaller than expected. We bought a bunch of fresh bitter melon leaves and one bunch of gabi with its potato at the end of the stalks both US1.00 notes each.

Later this one guy was selling three strawberry shortcakes freshly baked and without the strawberries for US5.00 notes. Although he bargained lower by one dollar, we didn’t buy because the taste was too sweet even for diabetics. I threw away the sample he gave to me.

So we went home and I slept until 12:30PM and we ate lunch outdoors under the open patio. Lunch was the steamed leaves of the bitter melon; mixed in with chopped tomatoes, onions and drowned with stinky fish sauce. The fried tilapia fish tasted great with this salad.

I tried to think of cleaning activities and discovered drawers from the plastic caddy of the front closet. I pulled those out and swept the dust bunnies from off the floor of the closet. I tried to discard the dust outside but two bunnies escaped into the wind.

The drawers were organized as I sat on the second step of the stairways. I threw out old apartment guides since my house is mine for the meantime; old stereo wiring, one television cable; one rice cooker plug and an old electric thermostat for the heater.

Later I organized the bookcase and didn’t throw out anything out except the old paper bag storing the receipts for the music books in maroon colored leather bind and the accompanying records for each song. I was tempted to throw away older material, which do not belong to me.

I did some laundry and slept some more until 07:30PM. The whole day and some past days were mostly clear blue skies. Today was much cooler as I slept with the windows open and my freshly scented blankets. Yesterday’s hot weather left me all sweaty from throwing out old Christmas cards into the night after dinner.

Paw thanked me for the card with a hug. He wondered why I crossed off some words from the last sentence and replaced with better words that made sense to me. I overlooked the wording when I originally purchased the card and later realized this morning that this card was meant for someone who is close to heart like a dad.

Then the boy called and spoke with both my bio-units and told stories of his new furniture and his being happy to own a house. Everyone knows that after paying off the house the property taxes exists as a form of ‘rent.’ After missing a few payments of this ‘rent,’ there are possible penalties and the potential for foreclosures.

I am proud that Brat called and was able to speak with Maw after what had transpired between him and me; that he would carry on the genes of more brats; and that today has been simple and relaxing with dinner of noodle soup; tofu, baby boks and ginger closing my day.

  • 20060617-Friendly Lessons

Friends may come and go. Good friends show their kindness in special ways and reciprocate with sincere appreciation. Those that teach us lessons the hard ways are not meant to be kind and not at all thankful.

One co-worker has a good heart and habit of offering treats fresh fruits, chocolates or other sweets. She sometimes throws these on my desk. I don’t mind these kind gestures and have shared her lunch during days when I felt hungry or too lazy to get up from my desk to go downstairs to the cafeteria to feed myself. I have repaid her by buying her lunch one time. My boss sometimes covers for my lunch which I repay later with whatever cash withdrawal I have left from my bank.

On 06-15-2006, I’ve received two food surprises. The first one was a free strawberry parfait sitting on my desk that morning. I’ve eaten that one for breakfast and don’t know who gave me that treat. Later on and in another vain attempt to interrupt my cross training with the brat, the other temp had given me a hard boiled egg with a pink stamp imprinted: ‘Best eaten before July 4, 2006’. I ate that one for lunch and without salt, which I could not locate in the mini lunch room.

On 06-16-2006, I’ve received a surprise greeting from a chatter named ‘Regret Jackboot’. We met through a forum earlier this year. We chatted for thirty minutes until 06:15PM. There was little to say because this was his only time to get online. We talked about the weather and how his area reached 115 degrees. I described my area as being cool and breezy. Both our skies looked clear and blue.

I learned that he was trying to land a new teaching job and to find relief from his ‘frustrated’ condition and that his Mom is doing fine after a dental appointment. For whatever reason, I knew he would suggest a visit to California. That’s not a bad idea but I wouldn’t know how to be good enough host to strangers. At least his webcam showed to me that he is not scary looking but a bit fleshy, which is fine by me.

On 06-17-2006, we received a surprise visit from the airheads at 12:30PM. Brat claimed to need a map for Frisco. But we knew that this was an attempt was to invite Paw to a dim-sum meal, which Paw immediately refused and demanded only a hug prior to their leaving. The couple will attend tomorrow’s 07:00AM mass as a result.

Maw clearly did not speak with Brat and pulled Twit upstairs to express her views that Brat was spending too much on unnecessary items and that they should save for their old age. And she showed Twit how I cleaned the upstairs to reduce the clutters created by Brat by packing up his remaining property. Maw has received reassurance from Twit who will take care of Brat.

At least Brat, picked up his mail, two boxes of old models, one bag of stuffed animals and three brown paper bags of paints and varnishes. He has yet to pick up the expensive framed picture of a squirrel I gave to him as a gift; his punching bag and other items. He has picked up the message that we do not take kindly from the likes of his attitude and he wondered why I look like I am preoccupied with something.

The lessons from friends are these little surprises. The lessons from enemies are of little surprise. Today as we ate our hot soup lunch of veggies and fish outdoors under the open patio and with the cool breeze blowing on the bright sunny day, we learned that people are teaching us how to be friends without conditions.

  • 20060611-Silently Busy

My day has been very slow but productive as I kept busy around the house. At 10:30AM I heard the garage door slam downstairs. This signaled that my bio-units are out of the house. I did my usual morning routine.

My body did not feel like responding to any movement at all and thought I was low on energy. So I drank a small amount of coffee drink, which didn’t work, and then orange juice from the fridge.

I waited for a boost as I lay on my bed. I craned my head upward to look outside my window and saw the nice blue skies. This was another refreshing day as the cool wind blows through my window. Later in the afternoon, there were pop corn clouds. In the evening, wispy vertical clouds came forth in the western horizon.

There was little hope of any recovery as the lethargy of blogging in the morning until 04:30PM continues to weigh upon me. So I lay on my computer bed and did the same as I wait for any motivation.

I sighed and went downstairs and started removing items from my bio-unit’s closet that belonged to the linen and storage closets upstairs. After bagging almost a dozen pairs of old eyeglasses and cases and stuffed away in another cabinet, I proceeded to organize smaller plastic drawers for Maws sewing and medical supplies.

The items were illogically organized. Buttons were in the thread compartment; splinters were mixed in with bandages and leftover garters and scraps materials had no place. The mess made me frustrated as I did my best to make sure this won’t happen again. But I know my efforts will be temporary.

I have placed Maws personally knitted wears, her sweaters and some shirts haphazardly to the original shelves where I removed boxed items, such as baby and christening clothes, an old childhood vaporizer which is now in the garage with other rarely used appliances, and a box of figurines meant to be gifted as junk.

Then the pain of transferring between two cleared closets upstairs began. I could not decide how to start and had to stop my brain from thinking and meditated for an answer. Nothing inspirational came to mind as I debated between the ‘electronic’ closet and the ‘paper’ closet.

Two old computers and one monitor were already sitting in my computer closet. So this would be the ‘electronic’ closet, which now contains Paw old projector; projector screen and other electronic goods, such as an old Atari system with game cartridges; old negatives of photos; and more of Paws accessories to photography.

The ‘paper’ closet is already loaded with toilet paper and paper towels which were brought from the parking lot sale of a military facility. Old hangers made of wood, wires, plastics and of various shapes and sized hang here. Some holiday figurines; decorations; gift wrapping accessories from downstairs and the garage have been stored in this closet.

I had to move four carry on downstairs to be stored underneath the stairs with the rest of the luggage. I had Paw throw a useless one without its leather handle. I found three more of Brats property but have stored the Atari cartridges with the unit and dumped the two in the garage for later pick up.

Nearby was the front door closet, which is directly in front of the main door. I kept this door open to aerate the odor from Paws’ leather jackets while I placed my snowboard from underneath the stairs to the closet on the right. I had to move the jackets over and hang three long umbrellas to the right.

My next closet was the linen. But I had to eat lunch and feed Maw who had walked around the backyard. She is beginning to look at our fluffy white clouds above. This is encouraging her to see pictures in the clouds too. I love taking pictures and show her what I see from my camera.

Paw was ironing his new clothes. It seems that he also bought a new pair of slippers earlier this morning. Since he couldn’t find some nice cotton pairs, he opted for the leather ones. He likes the open toes and not the kinds that strap between the toes.

I don’t like those painful straps either. My toes are already spaced far apart. While on this subject, tight shoes and high heels are eliminated from my wardrobe. I am down to the same ugly pair of fake black leather pumps and my white rubber shoes for running.

So upstairs I went and cleaned up the small hallway cabinet. This one is designated for holiday table clothes and napkins. I couldn’t believe I found leftover materials with red trucks and two styles of kitchen window coverings. I found a white oblong napkin with green embroidery all by itself and placed it on our alter space nearby.

I vacuumed more spider webs from the closets and from the shelves. The linen closet was confusing because we have more miss matches than necessary. There was enough space for two more hampers. I found a plastic caddy with four small shelves from the kitchen and requested Maw to buy me the same one in lime green color to match.

So I stuffed washcloths and hand towels here and left the bottom shelf to the large towels. I do not understand the logic for having too many towels for so few people living in this house. Maybe this is for emergency or flooding purposes or for guests that never seem to come by.

The middle shelf remained for bed sheets and bed spreads. The top shelf smelled moldy as I stuffed the four ruffled bed skirts; replaced two boxes of blankets from the ‘paper’ closet; and folded two bed liners and a blanket. The remaining blankets are either currently in use or remain downstairs in my bio-units’ closet.

By 05:00PM, the day slowed down to feeding the ailing TC by hand with oat groats and taking my much needed shower. Later I found Maw coming upstairs to remove and replace the pillow case from Brat’s purple pillow to mine. We didn’t deliver this one and three other items to the boy because Paw felt the boy would come by to pick up later on. We then ate dinner.

Maw seemed lonely and came upstairs. She requested I help her exercise her left leg by leaning on her bend leg towards her front. Later she wanted to hear a Filipino favorite on cassette tape but I had to retrieve her boom box from her bedroom. The heavy stereo looked great on Brats’ armoire.

I didn’t realize she would stay this long upstairs. We soon danced to two musics and I found that we synchronized our dance steps towards the end of the second tune. She, like Grandma Val, is very graceful. I, on the other hand, am too stiff and my steps are not light. I do leave heavy print marks behind, by the way.

I tried to entertain her some more by measuring the distance from and between the walls of the armoire and the dresser. The vacuum couldn’t clear one side and had to take out all the drawers of one piece and move a bit to the right each time. I used my middle finger to measure the distance of exactly two inches from the wall. My middle finger is exactly three inches to the knuckle.

I was getting a headache from her loud music and the closed windows. Earlier Maw wanted my windows closed because she felt cold. I felt suffocated and wanted to get out the same room because of the heat and her smell. There was also this pressure head ache as I lighted my two candles before my make shift alter upstairs for the night.

By 08:30PM, Maw claimed that she needed to use the bathroom downstairs. And I finally could rest. I tried to blog but the different one was being serviced. So I decided to meditate until 09:20PM. I felt some tummy ache as I thought of the events of today; how to improve our harmony together and to stop thinking too much.

With that said, I’ve accomplished much today. I did receive some appreciation for today’s work from Maw, who, in return, received her compliments from her friend ‘Any Season’, who had left a phone message last Friday claiming that the very sound of Maws voice or encouraging words healed the old lady. I have yet to hear the heartfelt and sincere thanks from Brats but silence is golden, right?

  • 20060609-Flare Ups

There is nothing left but lots but rest and relaxation, which I’ve done by sleeping almost two-thirds of a twenty-four hour cycle. The pain seems so severe that I feel like dying and might as well have an early funeral.

No one would attend my funeral because I have no friends and my relatives are ungrateful. Flare ups that burn, sting and throb the whole day are no joke. I’ve not work for three days and can’t blog while sitting. I’m afraid of using the toilet but still eat. This is my oxymoron lifestyle.

Nothing spectacular happened today except my sleeping almost the whole day and waking up around 05:00PM. I did some laundry. Later, while still in much pain, we went shopping for house slippers, which Paw did not find as usual. I bought two more packs of under wears.

These are boys briefs made for women and do not cut my circulation like those high cuts or bikini cuts. These kinds I could wear indoors as if I were wearing shorts. Unfortunately, I did not shave my legs and I could only hope no one walks in to see my excessive hairiness.

Maw and I struggled to straighten this one green colored, Batik styled bed cover. One edge was lower by four inches and I cut the extra while Maw measured fourteen inches from the main design; so she could sew the edges. There were two more loads of laundry before I could place this cover back on the bed behind me.

The pain has subsided but continues to burn into my being. I kneel once again before you, my audience, and the computer to blog further. There has to be a way for bed ridden folks to work on the computer. Besides, this is better than sitting straight up on a backbreaking chair like mine.

I bid you all to take care of your behind because this area is very sensitive and does not heal the fastest like the cornea or liver. My diet will now be nothing but baby food consistency for I must loose lots of weight and take care of my health, if I want to continue to live a pain free lifestyle.

  • 20060607-Poos Puus

Poos-puus, is a Filipino rice porridge. This taste best with saffron flowers, some sliced garlic and ginger and may include meat. This morning I’ve dragged myself out of bed with a worse condition originally from Monday morning. I couldn’t believe this would happen to me at this young age.

This morning at 08:00AM I felt too much pain that I had to message my boss a sick call. I did manage to help Maw cook us some porridge because she too was still reeling from a nauseous sickness from yesterday’s pain killers during the mass and at the polls.

We slowly worked together with Maw being the cook. I didn’t know how to start but got the usual instructions from Maw and started chopping garlic and ginger. I accidentally poured the entire content of the sweet rice, which would fill this big pot to almost halfway.

We had three pots boiling: one for the beef tripe; one for the chicken parts and one for the sweet rice. The beef tripe had to cook the longest outdoors to avoid smelling the house; while the chicken wings were boiled in with the sauteed ingredients. Later we mixed both into the cooked rice.

Breakfast was calm as the very cool day did nothing to alleviate my condition. I cleaned up and went straight to bed from 11:00AM to 07:30PM. I heard Brat walk upstairs to get his tugboat model during lunch time. We greeted each other. Instead of sympathy to get well, I got ‘Good!’ joke as a response.

I later got up somewhere prior 02:30PM to eat more Poos-puus and then went back to sleep. At almost on every half hour, I would wake up to see the clear blue skies from my bedroom window through the slits of the blinds. The refreshing wind would billow in through my opened windows as I drifted off to sleep each time.

This porridge is supposed to aid in the digestion of the sick. Maw and I had filled ourselves by eating this home cooked meal and remedy. This porridge increased Maw’s energy but this allowed some nourishment from this soft food.

Instead of letting my limited mobility affect my sense of humor, I organized the kitchen drawers late at night. I started out with the mugs and cups and found three shelves were taken up by this one cabinet. Two cabinets on either side of the stove stored food stuff; while the third adjacent one to the left stored appliances and other household items.

Besides my laughable condition, Paw’s shopping yesterday was more humorous. According to Maw who waited in the car, Paw purchased two asparagus heads instead of broccoli, which was clearly printed in his hand writing on the grocery list. This event added up to my flare ups and signals more challenges in the years to come.

Another current challenge is to have Paw switch back to the original formula which smells better. This lemon scented cleaner stinks to high heaven each time he uses this to clean the bathrooms. I do no know how he breathes this stuff at all. The windows must be open to avoid the suffocating smell.

I should not feel so suffocated with old timers such as my parents prematurely. But what does frustrates me is not being able to spend my hard earned pennies with my kinds but not being able to sit comfortably knowing that others have or are suffering worse fates than my flare ups and without the comfort of poos-puus.

  • 20060604-Consider Kindness

Tonight, I like to discuss the likes of airheads that my bio-units have encountered today. The airheads I’d like to present are mostly the kinds that show-off in spite of their background. These people like to present themselves as being inconsiderate as well.

The first example is an old lady by the name of ‘Any Season’. She is some seventy-five years old and a former co-worker of Maw. ‘Any Season’ has called my bio-units this morning that she had called the paramedics. My bio-units had to stop their breakfast and I saw Paws cup of warm milk mysteriously sitting inside the refrigerator.

Upon my bio-units’ arrival over at her house, the paramedics whispered to my bio-units that the old lady’s blood pressure was normal. The old lady has a crazed habit of taking her BP frequently everday when her sugar level of over 200 is, in my opinion, of higher importance.

So my ignorant bio-units offered to drive the old lady to a local store so she could buy a new BP apparatus. Maw caught the con artist earlier that she didn’t replace the batteries when originally inquired. Maybe the machine was still accurate but was thrown away to be sure.

From 09:00AM to 04:30PM, Maw had the opportunity to tell her stories of struggling about the past and how she came to America by working hard and without the help of friends or relatives. The old lady refused to leave our house until the son got back from work.

Now it seems that the old lady had a son and we had wondered why the son was not first at the scene to assist his own mother. Our speculation is the old lady didn’t want the son to take time off because that would mean less pay. Another is that her son is not willing to be there at 02:00PM when the old lady called him.

After two free meals (of breakfast and lunch) were offered by my ignorant bio-units and after several free pickings of an Asian pear fruit from our tree growing in the backyard, the old lady left. Maw came upstairs to complain about the long stay of ‘Any Season’ and promptly slept on my bed in exhaustion as I cleaned all three rooms upstairs.

The second example is Brat who could not pick up his mail and other items leftover from the house; since he lives two minutes away. I called him this evening and he claimed he would out for an evening walk. I offered to drop off his stuff to his house but he would pick up tomorrow.

He then spoke to Maw. Brats plan was to stop by our house during lunchtime. Maw said he could warm up his own food for lunch because Paw and she would be out walking around the mall. I certainly don’t have time to visit him during lunchtime.

The third example is Maws former co-worker by the name of ‘Liar Lunatic’. This person called Maw about a televised program showing watered down medicine. Then the gossips about an airhead by the name of ‘Anger-Sin’ or ‘Hell-Lie’ went on.

This forth example of ‘Hell-Lie’ tends to over exaggerate her status of being wealthy to her stupid friends who would believe her in the first place. They do no know it’s the dead man’s money. If she were indeed wealthy, she wouldn’t be working three days of the week or asking the same stupid friends for free rides instead of the affordable taxi cabs.

This con artist has operated like this all her life of wanting to be on top. The whole town back in the Philippines knows she is not that good looking either. Her attitude is not nice and too over bearing that my dead uncle couldn’t defend himself or his four children from this highly tempered person.

Maw challenged this mouth piece to the test the airhead. ‘Liar Lunatic’ and ‘Hell-Lie’ are buddies since their daughters by the name of ‘Sin-Die Lunatic’ and ‘Anal-Sin’ are friends, respectively. ‘Hell-Lie’ has been asking ‘Liar Lunatic’ for free rides and that’s how the old hag gets around town, by being nice.

This airhead bragged about a two-week cruise and brought two luggages full of formal gowns to wear each day. So ‘Liar Lunatic’, who would believe this person, doesn’t have a clue why ‘Hell-Lie’ has been being so nice recently. The known fact is the other drivers are running away from the airhead.

I have nothing against people who lack some rather descent consideration that my bio-units have only kindness to show to people who have, in turn, taught my bio-units that inconsiderate personalities exist in some people. My bio-units will have learned to avoid the folks who take advantage of their ignorance as well, going forward.

I will express, however, that some Filipino that come to America become totally spoiled once they experience the great abundance of spending for food and clothings. It’s great that sponsors like us have allowed their likes the opportunity to know the great joy of being free.

Their being free to believe they are rich and act like they are somebody saddens us because they forgot to look back and remember they once came from poor backgrounds. This has happened to most of my relatives who come to American, by the way.

The American-born children do not seem to act like they are rich, I believe. I know because I am born and raised on American soil and as fine Christian brethren. This is because I’ve earned my pennies the hard way, I reckon.

My bio-units worked hard to be kind to people in need. They learned that some have not considered being kind in return and only take advantage of any opportunity to get sympathy, a free lunch or a free ride, by being nice.

  • 20060603-Cleaning Clutter

Finally, I will enter today’s blog regarding our cleaning the backyard. I awoke several times during the morning but did not actually get out of bed until around 09:05AM. As I opened the blinds to let in the sunlight, I did smell Maw’s cooking downstairs.

We had expected Brat to visit us today as soon as Twit left to work on Saturday. But I told my bio-units he is inconsistent. And Twit has already expressed this truth. He did not show up at all and we were not surprised but perhaps disappointed; since he does live only two minutes away.

We finished breakfast in our calmer manner now that Brat has moved away and on with his life. By 10:00AM, we were not sure how to begin the day. We opted to either walk around the mall in Milpitas, CA or start with more cleaning of clutter from over the years. I messaged Brat to come pick up more of his junk later on.

Maw’s suggestion started out with the old bird cages sitting under the patio of our backyard. So afterward and in my leisurely pace, I washed and dried the biggest black cage. The bars on this one cage is spaced smaller for the feet of these parakeets but the interior seemed to cramp for these fat ones.

Then the matter of figuring out how to store the golden cage of medium size and three smaller ones of two green and one purple remained. I had difficulty finding big enough plastic bags that would fit over the golden cage, which once housed out beloved, late JoJo of thirteen years old. Then my big brain found a thirty-nine gallon hefty sized plastic bag that worked its miracle.

The other cages had already been bundled nicely. All that was left was replacing the dusty ones with fresh plastic bags. I had found a nice empty wall near the Benz and proceeded to stuff the purple and green cages inside this black cage and the golden cage placed below the open iron cabinet. The loose wires were placed below also.

Paw accomplishment today was cleaning out the fish cabinet of iron. There were old equipment of charcoal filters; two lamps and other items. He wiped down this cabinet that we assembled on 02-19-1984 for $32.25. He found my hand written date stamp painted underneath Paws self assembled wooden piece to the iron structure.

He swept the dustiness and dried leaves from behind where the cabinet was once located and he moved my plastic tool holder back where I originally had installed this under the patio. After Brat moved his junk out from underneath the patio, the place is cleaner and more livable.

Maw did the cooking and some other smaller tasks due to her deteriorating health condition and old age. She cleaned the parakeet containers and swept more debris from off the cemented floor of the patio. She screamed out in her normal frustration; blamed both Paw and me for the habit of saying ‘No’; and accused us of not appreciating her hard work.

Today, after over three decades, the three of us sat down together for an outdoor picnic. We pulled out the white table, which was hand made from a left over door during one of the many house remodeling projects; set the table for a two course meal of fish head soup with asparagus and lug-lug noodles; and waited for Paw to come over after five minutes of cleaning himself up.

My stomach ached probably from all the exertion of cleaning the clutter out back. But I knew my system had to use the toilet but didn’t feel any need. So after my eating up almost all the noodles and my bio-units eating up the fish soup; we cleaned up some more and felt better.

The day is beautiful; the sky is clean; and the air is warm. The refreshing day has brought us together to clean up more clutter from the backyard and to enjoy each others company with our first picnic of lunch under the open patio.

  • 20060601-Saw Sausage

A sausage is a meaty, edible treat found in a small can; while a saw is a tool with serrated edges like a mountain range. The imagery of these objects not only reminds me of my surnames but of a carrot-and-stick approach of today’s meeting regarding a particular program by one country.

History tells us that the effects of nuclear activities are very damaging to the planet and its inhabitants. Yet the powerful nations won’t stop using this advanced technology. And now these same nations expect the emerging ones to give up their efforts on this form of energy.

Any meeting that does not add more fuel to the fire of extremes has succeeded. And I have yet to observe anything positive resulting from today’s meeting. My expectation is for both sides of the mess to resolve their differences.

My primary concern is the elimination of the proverbial wool, which is fear. The fear of waging war; of utilizing nuclear arms or of losing power to the general populace of awakening people are not to be rewarded. Rewarding bad behavior is nonsense and does not advance the world in this manner.

A better reward is actually utilizing renewable forms of energy on a global scale. I’m sure there would be jobs everywhere for everyone and no one could get hurt from refueling their vehicles with water, for example. The air, soil and water would be much cleaner without the stains of oil or radiation.

Another example is for everyone to stop eating anything which lives or moves. And I mean all plants and animals. I could image having dinner by ingesting honey flavored pills and still feel full. That would free up any contracts between species of having to eat each other to survive.

As I digress, pooping would be less difficult and time spent on the toilet would be reduced. There would be no more laxatives as a result. The sewers, the rivers and the great ocean would be in better condition too.

People should know by now that anything could be easily destroyed in an instance. A building could come crashing down with demolition, a car could be totaled in an accident and a relationship could end from misunderstanding.

What took many years for the ancient forests (with its little owls inhabiting therein) to grow very tall could be destroyed in minutes by these computer controlled tools of destruction. The recovery is slow to the ecosystem.

So we all could assuage the insecurity of each other with tasty morsels of sausages or conquer and divide ourselves as each other’s enemy with the almighty saw, such as by admitting that you are right and I am wrong.
