  • Day 21: Write about your best friend (not significant other) and what makes them special.

Day 21: Write about your best friend (not significant other) and what makes them special.

My best friend is invisible. That’s right! That friend is imaginary and I’ve created “him” from my mind. Therefore, my best friend is my own inner voice that gets mad at me, puts me in place, and makes me think and ask questions, which cannot be fully answered or satisfied entirely.

“He” is my worse enemy, a comforter and someone who makes me laugh. This “best friend” can be critical, sarcastic, loving and even emotionally vindictive to the point of getting angry. “He” knows how to get on my nerves and knows how to sooth my worries away.

“He” is always observing my activities and reminds me to be mindful of my thoughts, actions and deed. It’s almost as if “he” is my teacher without lecturing, although my imagination does create lots of inner conversation that seems to go nowhere.

Am I nuts? Nope! Tell me if your best friend can stay with you for these many years with your bad habits, bad breath and odors and bad attitude and not go nuts at your imaginary perfection — you. That being said, my best friend is really me!

  • Day 20: Discuss your favorite movie and why it’s so special to you.

Day 20: Discuss your favorite movie and why it’s so special to you.

Since I’m not an avid movie goer, the only favorite movie that I could recall was “Forest Gump” (starring Tom Hanks). He reminds me of Paw, who may not say much, think fast enough or be appreciated but can carry out lots in his own pace and special ways.

The movie teaches us that those people with some compromised brain power can function normally in society. These special folks are good souls, who have some sense of moral consciousness, knowing the difference between right and wrong, and the feelings of sentimental values, protecting their loved ones from harm and danger and cherishing gifts of appreciations and souvenirs.

When called to action, they are there. When being human, they are there. I just love heart-warming stories of people telling stories about themselves, their life’s experience and other funny things that could happen while still alive on this planet.

  • Day 19: Something that shook your belief system to its core (a big disappointment in your life).

Day 19: Something that shook your belief system to its core (a big disappointment in your life).

Well, I met a few “aliens”. They looked, acted and sounded human but their eyes gave away their true identity. That means we are not alone on this planet and that highly advanced beings exist among us.

They could have been mistaken as “gods” and wrongfully worshiped by various religious organizations. And because of their advanced technology and science, people feared these entities and the potential pain and heinous harm from their wondrous weapons of massive destruction from HAARP to vaccination.

  • Day 18: Someone you met randomly that’s made an impact on your life.

Day 18: Someone you met randomly that’s made an impact on your life.

It’s a fat bastard and his pals: They have revealed, who they really are and how they operate in this world. They are a group of “singularity” and work in unison. They know all that is about a person as if reading the “book of life”. They are givers of life and destroyers, too. They come and go as they please through “wormholes” and astrally. They are one of many with “special gifts”. In their “special ways”, they believe they are doing the work of “God” and appear as human or not. They have both ruined and blessed my life. In return, I pray for them.

  • Day 17: Someone with whom you shared a friendship/relationship that simply drifted out of your life.

Day 17: Someone with whom you shared a friendship/relationship that simply drifted out of your life.

Let’s see. There is no particular “someone” that I’ve befriended or established a long-term relationships that simply drifted out of my life. Many such people are strangers, if not acquaintances at best, that know my name and where I live. So far I don’t really care to mention anyone because that’s how my life has been with people — mostly temporary and nothing dramatic to say the least.

  • Day 16: A book you’ve read that changed your views on something.

Day 16: A book you’ve read that changed your views on something.

Most of the books I’ve read has to be easy-to-read and no more than a couple of hundred of pages and in normal to large fonts. My impatient nature requires that I find how the book ends and hopefully the understand the whole book without looking up complicated words in the dictionary for their meanings.

A New Age book called “Common Sense and the Ageless Wisdom” by Don Bradley changed my views on something. In my previous blog entry, I briefly explained why everything happens for a reason, which is mostly for the better good, not that it is supposed to be a collective stream of consciousness of synchronous events but for individual lessons to be learned and taught to others who might benefit by sharing personal experiences through and by examples.

I learned that “just being there” for each other out of empathy, though in hindsight seems also to serve self (or one’s ego), is necessary for the whole as the very nature of sharing (not necessarily spreading the wealth) of knowledge, if not financially supporting a relationship to show one cares, is in the face of reality serving the “Lord”, our “God”, Allah, Buddha, Rama, etc.

There were many clues in this book that pointed out the golden rule: do good to others and in return others will (hopefully in some way, shape and form) will do good to you. It’s in the knowing and not the expecting that this rule does apply on this planet, a temporary ride full of ups and downs and meant to turn everyone all around in the hopes of getting people to wake up, be happy and enjoy each others’ company and life’s challenges until death do us part for another round or not in the afterlife. Cheers!

  • Day 15: A band/musical artist whose music impacted your life.

Day 15: A band/musical artist whose music impacted your life.

There was no particular group that impacted my life because my musical genre varied from classical to hard rock. I didn’t care to follow the crowd and buy their products to belong to their groups. I simply had no care to allow any artist make a difference in my life. Why would I have sounds affect how I dress or think or act? Sure, I’d get excited temporarily and found simple pleasures from the strong beats to soothing ones. Then I’d get bored and move on to different types of audio sensations.

  • Day 14: Someone who has made your life worth living.

Day 14: Someone who has made your life worth living.

I don’t know any one particular person that kept me going except Maw. She has given birth to me, nursed and fed me, taught me how to drive and the ways of life and told me stories about her life and others. Out of curiosity, I’d continue living to see how we age together.

  • Day 13: Discuss some of the things on your bucket list.

Day 13: Discuss some of the things on your bucket list.

If I made up a bucket list, I don’t remember. There is nothing in my bucket list. Whatever happens or not is meant to be or not. I did have plans ranging from getting married, raising children and buying a house. But for whatever reason, I guess I wasn’t ready. There were other lesser goals, which were not yet achieved and probably because I refused to work hard for those particular hopes and dreams or maybe whatever I would have desired or wanted was not quite heartfelt or necessary.

Had it not been for the “snag” or “delay” in my bucket list, my visions would have been primarily selfish. For you see, I’m indeed a greedy person who really desires notoriety, fortune and fame. But I see now those qualities are childish notions and do nothing to my heart and soul. And now instead of filling my bucket list with things left undone or not said, I now have a clearer path to pave — for others as per my prayerful intention would hopefully manifest this year. Then again, that pursuit is also being greedy if the other party does NOT appreciate the help.

    “Your “help” is not “needed”.”

Okay, then if that’s the case, you are free to suffer your fate and enjoy whatever destiny YOU choose for yourself and your family. I’m learning how the dedicated blogger perceives relationships: Talk about being kicked into the gutter for over ten slong years.

  • Day 12: Something you hope to change about yourself and why.

Day 12: Something you hope to change about yourself and why.

I hope to change my attitude. But since my DNA is too strong (stubborn and willful), I have to change my behavior first. And that goes without saying how important it is for anyone to “lift a finger” and “get the job done” at work or at home, no matter how difficult and challenging a task or how lazy or sick a person: There should be no excuse for not making an effort to assist others, too.

By extending your service beyond your normal routine, that’s how I envision everyone to behave. Of course that’s my suggestion and not to impose how helpful it would be for those with extra time on their hands to wash the dishes, to do the laundry, to pick up the food or children, to caring for the disabled or elderly.

My goal, for example, is to communicate my wants and needs and really mean it. Usually that is reduced by not having the courage to speak up loud enough and clearly enough to be heard and understood by those who love me to improve.

So I hope this year to improve my communications and listening skills by interacting more with weird people and getting a couple of hearing aids. Other than that, I’ll continue to blog my thoughts as if I were talking to people — my unseen readers. Creepy.

  • Day 11: Something about which people seem to compliment you.

Day 11: Something about which people seem to compliment you.

Recently, I’ve been trying to go on a diet, followed by some low-impact exercise such as walking briskly and stretching slowly after each meal, which is still the usual three-course, home-cooked meals by Maw for us big-boned women.

Parishioners especially would notice how I lost weight. It’s true because my skin does not feel tight or stretched taut. And I feel somewhat lighter and less exhausted, too. My speed is faster and pain is under control with a few seconds of massage on my toes and feet, for example.

  • Day 10: Something at which you’ve been a champion or the best.

Day 10: Something at which you’ve been a champion or the best.

I’m good at fooling myself, not that I’m delusional (grandiose or otherwise), but pretending I’m all that important and more! I’ve been reading articles online and books about self-empowerment. That’s a bunch of horse-sh^t from New Agers to “Little Grandmother”.

All I had to see were their “forked tongues” flicking out the same recurring words of “love and light” and any color related to purple. The followers of these gurus and the elders of these fakers have the right to know the truth — that not all is not “sugar and spice” and evil leaders to exist.

Like lost sheep, I too lack guidance and seek the assistance of a shepherd or teacher to a greener path. For I am easily vulnerable to those authorities of common sense and timeless wisdom and my own gullibility to nice words of flattery and praise.

As a fool who fools others with my words and is fooled into believing anything that catches my attention, I am my own worst enemy who cannot find peace within and without much luck. I’m afraid I’ll be adrift in an unforgiving ocean of information overload.
