You are on a mission to Mars. Because of the length of of the journey, you will never be able to return to Earth. What about our blue planet will you miss the most?(Thank you for the wonderful prompt suggestion, K. Renae P.!)

    Source: Longing for Gravity

Flynn: I’ll miss nature, the birds and the bees, wild herds and majestic trees, the foaming surf and the cool summer breeze. I’ll miss family and friends, the beginning of love and how it ends. I’ll miss everything material and spiritual. But most of all I’ll miss being human under the warm whitish sunshine.

Kitty: I’ll miss the birds and mice and the pond full of goldfish koi. We used to get monarch butterflies and its baby catepillars upon tall milkweed but not any more. I’ll miss the neighborhood cats and dogs, too. But most of all I’ll miss the earthling air and its crispy clear blue skies and fluffy puffy clouds of white.

A lively group discussion, an intimate tête-à-tête, an inner monologue — in your view, when it comes to a good conversation, what’s the ideal number of people?

    Source: Counting Voices

Flynn: One voice is enough and that’s mine. I have my opinions via incoming thoughts, which are mostly imaginative by the way. I must have my way but because the mistress feed me, I must comply and listen to her conversation, which is mostly logical and highly critical. This is on a daily basis.

Kitty: Your voice doesn’t matter in hiss. When I’m hungry, you come and serve me foodstuff. I don’t want to hear your reasons and definitely not your excuses. Noises by humanz are annoying, especially your machines, except the tin can opener. I’m sure Tabby would agree. Now, I’ve trigger my hunger response and require your assistance. Fetch me food, human!

If you could slow down an action that usually zooms by, or speed up an event that normally drags on, which would you choose, and why?

    Source: Pace Oddity

Flynn: If I could sleep-in a little bit longer this morning, I wouldn’t feel so groggy or foggy-brained. This morning I had awakened around two o’clock after two hours of sleep and then had a difficult time getting back to sleep. This has been going on for awhile since I started sharing room with my elderly mother.

Kitty: Flynn, this is one time that I’d agree with you. Did you know that she awoke four-thirty this morning and took a nap sitting upright in the leather sofa of the living room? She almost sat on me! Now, I must catch my cat nap. It’s been a long morning.

Tell someone you’re proud of just how proud you are.

    Source: Pat on the Back

Flynn: I’m proud of y’all for being alive and well! Actually, last night Mom hugged and thanked me for being there for her. Her failing health has worried my father and brother, more so, since men seem to be more emotional than women.

Kitty: Like Tabby, I’m proud to be a feline who can control the situation. Our appreciate can be displayed as markings, scratches, and furballs. Occasional, meows and hisses are warranted after humanz feed and clean us properly, or not, respectively. We’re eternally proud you humanz serve us felines.

Most of us are excellent at being self-deprecating, and are not so good at the opposite. Tell us your favorite thing about yourself.

    Source: Toot Your Horn

Flynn: Besides barely learning how to sing loud and strong from the diaphragm, I can cuss up a storm when irked. Three days ago, I forgot to turn off the front porch light after two Asian American boys handed me a black and white letter sized paper flyer of a Vietnamese guy running for council member. After early Sunday mass, Dad turned off that rare overnight light. That same day, I went to turn on one of four lights from the same electrical panel near the front door. My angered electro static fingertip short circuited the “foyer” lightbulb, which Dad replaced while Mom and I finished lunch halfway yesterday. Yeah, so I’m NOT too proud in zapping lightbulbs dead when pissed off.

Kitty: Huh. That’s nothing. I can use up nine lives and still can’t remember how many lives remain. The other day I panicked after hearing your NutriBullet blender. I was atop the tall wooden, cabinet of unused but expensive dishes, waiting for the parakeets to land nearby, so that I could pounce and play with them, when suddenly I found myself on all fours upon the wooden floor. I then ran fast away and hid inside the linen closet full of comforting fabric material. I’m not too proud of being afraid of loud noises but as a cat my nine lives can be useful in unknown situations.

When was the last time [you] walked away from a discussion, only to think of The Perfect Comeback hours later? Recreate the scene for us, and use your winning line.

    Source: Drawing a Blank

Flynn: Last night, the swollen one got angry about my aches and pain. After breakfast this morning, the slow one wondered why I don’t take advantage of my Medi-Cal. Comeback: Hey, I don’t care! Why go to the doctor, if I feel fine?

Kitty: That’s not a comeback until you follow-up with a hiss and a scratch. That’s how toms settle their differences. Although if there’s a large canine patrolling the neighborhood, I’d simply run away. It’s better than the risk of injury from unprovoked confrontations.

Pinpoint a moment in your past where you had to make a big decision. Write about that other alternate life that could have unfolded.

    Source: The Road Less Traveled

Flynn: Well, I could have kept a temp job from hell, had I not complained about that purple crayon. Y’all see, I’m a yellow crayon. And mixing purple and yellow colors together would result in a brownish crayon. So, the Native HR gal said that was my last day. Huh.

Kitty: Well, besides your delayed response to The Daily Prompt, you could have asked Bastet if you could incarnate as a feline and then you won’t have those humananized problems. My only big bad decision was choosing to incarnate as a pet cat to a human who neglects her responsibility in the care and maintenance unto moi! Hiss!

Write a letter to the personality trait you like least, convincing it to shape up or ship out. Be as threatening, theatrical, or thoroughly charming as is necessary to get the job done. Thanks for the great idea, Iam Who Iam.

Source: Shape Up or Ship Out

Flynn: Dear Gullible, have you learned your lesson about talking to strangers? You’ve been told not to trust anyone. Next time, please verify your contacts through reliable sources. You can’t continue on any path without someone covering your back. Sincerely, Flynn.

Kitty: Dear Goddess, have you fully appreciated your assignment among earthlings? You’ve been fed and cleaned minimally and yet your humanz have not gifted you at least a diamond studded heart pendant. Your immortal patience is astounding. Sincerely, Kitty.

Reincarnation: do you believe in it?

    Source: Karma Chameleon

Flynn: In viewing stories about ghosts and past lives by humanz, I would tend to believe that reincarnation is NOT illusory, yet temporary, regardless of good karma, or any karmic debt. Until I remember at least one of my past life, I don’t believe in reincarnation.

Kitty: I just read a blog about Nera visiting Tabby from the eternal corn chambers and Mrs Human fainting after seeing glowing green furballs screaming for theirs lives from the toilet. I wouldn’t mind a visit from Nera or any feline living its tenth life. I guess those experiencing reincarnation is as real to those with extra sensory whiskers.

Turn to your co-workers, kids, Facebook friends, family — anyone who’s accessible — and ask them to suggest an article, an adjective, and a noun. There’s your post title! Now write.

    Source: Mad Libs

Flynn: Paws. That was simple. Paws is a noun and an animal’s appendages, specifically a mammal known as a cat. While the word pause is a verb and a human’s momentary brain fart, especially during times of foggy brain episodes. At times, I’d like to think that I’m a feline meowing and that you’re my human giving me all the love and attention that I seek.

Kitty: I should swipe your face with my paws and send you a cease and desist letter. Must I remind you to feed and clean me? And don’t bother trying to assuage me with vacuuming my fur. What kind of human are you? I can call you a liar and sue you on grounds of defamation for labeling me as Evil Kitty. I’m the nice one, you know! But I digress. That bullying technique didn’t work with the BIGGEST and scariest terrorist living next door to us. She was rendered absolutely insane from rolling around in catnip. The other cats said so. They could only laugh.

What’s the most significant secret you’ve ever kept? Did the truth ever come out?

    Source: Evasive Action

Flynn: Well, now that won’t be a secret once revealed, eh? Honestly, I thought I was worth lots on pieces of paper. Now, I’ve barely anything saved for retirement, thanks to those banksters, err, TBTP and pals. Eventually, I’ll have to be open and honest and transparent to my family and that being under and unemployed for this long period of time is getting me nowhere.

Kitty: I secretly wished to be a human; so I could open those tin cans of tuna on demand. Then I won’t need humanz to feed and clean me, and no vets to give me those nasty shots. For once, I’d like to eat fresh mice and birds. But humanz don’t seem to play with prior to consumption.

You’ve been granted magical engineering skills, but you can only use them to build one gadget or machine. What do you build?

    Source: World’s Best Widget

Flynn: I’d create a teleportation device to de-materialize objects into emergency rooms or other safe havens. For example, if a poacher wanna shoot an endangered species, I’d dial the locations and press the button found on my wrist watch.

Kitty: I want one of Tabby’s invention that would allow cats to open tin cans of tuna fish. But we are stuck with humanz to assist in processing our food and waste. Honestly, I want one of your teleportation wrist watch, so I could send myself outta the vet exam room!
