I’ve changed my mind again. Instead of displaying latest entries as the “front/home” page, the “blog” page will be for the “posts” and the “contents” page will be for “front page”:

The “table of contents” is really not a page of pages because there is a sidebar widget for “Page”. Rather, this “front/home” page is to show where/how to navigate around my weblog site.

Unlike the long introduction(s), such as the “Welcome” page, which has been renamed to the “Dedication” page, this “contents” page is short and sweet. And this is for those who doesn’t have the patience to read everything.

Instead of taking my mid-afternoon nap, I decided to tweak my pages. I ended up creating two “parent” pages because I want the logical placement of each page.

So there really should only be three parent pages: about, Flynn and book.

Because my brain doesn’t under English well, it tried to force the “contents” page to stand alone when it really should belong as part of the “preliminaries” as found in a “real book”.

As for the “welcome” page, that is now titled the “dedication” page. Now this, along with the “contents’ page is place properly in the “front” of the “book”.

The “topics” page had to be created as a parent to my other pages of topics, which could be found under “categories” or “tags”. I didn’t want to delete these “orphans” and now they have a home.

The two main pages: “About” and “Flynn” have links to its sub-pages. So there was no need for me to created menus for each one.

Here is a run-down of my tweaks under “Appearance”:

• Themes — “Twenty Eleven” because it’s 2011.
• Widgets — “static” on the right footer, “variable” on the left footer.
• Menus — seven basic menus. May have to redo/delete “contents”.
• Color scheme — light background with dark fonts, not the other way around.
• Link color — bloody red to contrast the dark background and header.
• Layout — One-column, no sidebar.
• Custom background — all black, all the time.
• Custom header — black, white and gray to compliment black background.

The “front/home page” has been streamlined further to show an EXTRA LARGE image; to correct for “proper” grammar and spelling; and to improve “dedication”. ‘Showcase Template” has been used for this page only. Three widgets are used here, too.

The Links have been updated. I’m still not sure about the rest and will keep those set to “private” until I change my mind.

I may delete more pages and media, too. Heck! I feel like deleting my blog forever!

Bahaha! I guess FireFox doesn’t like my CSS code “overflow: “hidden” for the “body element”. It’s looks okay when I use IE Version 7.0. But according to a snapshot from one of my favorite contacts, I guess I’d better stop playing around with the layout and appearance of my weblog.

After last’s night “black screen of death”, I had to switch my WordPress.com theme to something that should load faster for my slow computer and DIAL-UP internet connection.

As a result, I had to set my “Blog pages show at most to 3 posts”; remove the “Welcome” page as a “front page” display and set the two sidebars to default — pages and archives on the left sidebar and search form and blogroll links on the right sidebar.

A few minutes ago, I generated a web-safe, yellow color (# FFFFCC) for the background of the Sandbox 0.6.1 theme. This buttery color is a contrast of the default, link color of electric blue (unvisited) and mute purple (visited).

Out of sheer boredom at work and for the fact that “new orders” for my “arm” and his “leg” is only around two dozen on average, I’ve resorted to blogging! That’s right! I’m trying to keep sane here!

So last night I’ve switched WordPress.com themes again. This time it’s:

It’s very clean and I really don’t need to use my paid CSS upgrades and Typekit fonts. All I need is a TIMESTAMP for each blog AND and the ability to remove the default RSS feed and/or add an RSS feed for my comments. I miss some sidebar widgets!

Furthermore, I’ve edited two pages: Welcome and Sitemap. To increase load speed for slower computers and internet connects for those who click on my main page, I’ve removed images from the Welcome page and left two religious images for show.

The links to my Sitemap page used to be sorted alphabetically. It was very easy to view. But I wanted to differentiate each page under a primary yet logical list, such as About, Author, Blog, Book, Contents, Notice and Topics. I like how this page looks now.

After posting earlier this morning, I received a WordPress.com Announcement:

For a one-time price of $45 and $68, respectively, the user could tweak their new WordPress.com theme.

There is a preview mode via Dashboard >> Appearance >> Theme. But there is no way to see how the hardcodes behave because, for example, the “Shelf” theme doesn’t show a preview of the many features. Only the “Headlines” theme gives me an idea whether or not there is TIME-STAMP somewhere for each of my blog entries.

In the meantime, I’ll stick to my paid CSS upgrade.

Whoo! Hooo! I’m thinking about purchasing a WordPress.com upgrade called “Site Redirect”. Since a domain, which I registered here via WordPress.com was eaten up by someone over in South Carolina (the last time I check), I wanted to change my blog name to a singular form. I already have another domain name, which is currently set to “private” mode. I may use this one instead but can’t feel or “taste” the WordPress.com upgrade just yet.

Then I came across “WordPress.com Blog/Site Address Change”. Now, I’ll sleep on it and hopefully in my dream state there will be a revelation brought unto me and a perfectly nice blog name would reflect moi upon which I could purchase a nice domain name via WordPress.com again. I cannot decide. I need to brainstorm some more. There are many ways to make weblogging useful!

Earlier during work I was online and Tuan came by and hopefully Hoan and him didn’t accidentally see my “site title”. But I was on the administration screen. I wonder if team Automattic could make a “fake screen” so no one knows I’m blogging.

As a result, I’ve reverted my “site title” to “Just Another WordPress Weblog” with a “tagline” reading “Posts by Flynn”. It’s straightforward until I figure out something that was catchy like “Free Writer’s Blog” or “Flynnism’s Blog” or something of that nature.

I don’t want my “junk” duplicated during a general search online or “infringe” upon someone else’s “blog title”. It’s annoying, really because I want a domain name that describes my rant perfectly. So far, I’m stumped!
