Okay, I think I’ve burned myself out with editing my paid CSS upgrade with the recent WordPress.com theme: Sandbox 1.6.2.

I wanted a narrow, “one-column” layout to my weblog, had to review my old stylesheets for clues and finally found two useful CSS codes for the “#wrapper element”:

• width:740px;
• margin:0 auto;

The rest are learned from other WordPress.com themes.

Sorry, folks! I’m crazed creative, web designer! I’m an internet addict! I’ve switch back to theme Dusck by Beccary because the theme’s HTML hard-codes are stable for my purpose – one content element and one sidebar element! Bam! I still care about my other elements: custom menus, templates for “Archives” and “Links” and date/time stamps for both index and post pages.

I couldn’t get the elements for the Theme Sandbox 1.6.2. to work for me. I was previewing and saving stylesheet many times over! I don’t understand CSS coding all that well.

After upgrading my Typekit fonts late last night, I made use of my paid CSS upgrade here at WordPress.com. Now my weblog is still prettier with cursive, handwriting fonts: Mahalia for the headers and “Comic Sans MS, sans-serif” for the body element.

The static “front/home page” now shows at most eight post entries on the left, along with the LONG sidebar on the right.

This weblog has taken on many looks! Why? There are websites archiving my weblogs and each one will have a different appearance. So that should piss off the spooks who would dare “copy” my writings in that manner.

Okay, I’ve switched WordPress.com themes again. Since late last night (Friday), I noticed two new features added for certain WordPress.com themes: “background” and “header”. For example, Theme: Day Dream by Jim Whimpey, now sports a “background”, which I changed the color to match the pink rose. It’s really pretty now! I think WordPress.com is getting closer to my expectations of an “ideal weblog”.

So last night, I switched WordPress.com themes and went back to theme Journalist by Lucian E. Marin. Since no one reads my precious pages and with millions of other blogs out there, I’ve stream-lined the sidebar and placed only three widgets:

• Search (a search form)
• Custom Menu (Main menu)
• Text (Custom CSS)

I like this theme because of:

• the date/time stamps for both “posts” and “pages” and
• the templates for both “Archives” and “Links”.

I expect to get easily bored with plainess of basic white and black colors and would prefer colors and more sidebar widgets with my precious images, which no one clicks.

Hmm. I should register a new WordPress.com weblog and find a catchy url name and later purchase a domain name. I already have one in private mode. Maybe I’ll keep that one but it won’t have the high count for the stat blogs.

Bah!

Just when I thought I could hide behind privacy settings, I’ve decided to tweak my weblog again and make it visible to the public. I really wanted a static front page but couldn’t decide which page to use. I didn’t like how the embedded YouTube.com video kept loading up. I needed a page that explained what the readers are getting themselves into – loads of fun (or crap for more negative mind-sets).

So from “Howdy” to “Welcome”, my weblog is normal for now. To read the most recent blog entries, just type in “blog/” after my url. It’s that simple, if you subscribe, which is more preferable. That way you read the excerpt and decide if you really want to continue reading by clicking on the link via the RSS feed.

I’ve switched WordPress.com themes and tweaked my weblog with the paid CSS upgrade. The “front/home page” now displays the “Howdy” page, which features the introduction, a Youtube.com video, my quote to support the video, my sites, the various date/time stamp, and the three-paged “Notice”.

If you want to read my blog (set to display at most 15 posts), you’d have to type thebloggingpath.wordpress.com/blog. It’s similar to the set-up for newbies with websites registered via Yahoo! Small Business.

For the meantime, I’m switching WordPress.com themes until I get my own website, learn HTML codes and be my own web designer! So bear with me until I keep finding the ideal “appearance”, which my paid CSS upgrade can only do so far.

My “Front page displays” a page properly instead of my “latest posts”. Get it? It’s supposed to be a static “page” and not a changing “post”. This is one of my many slowness – the logic test:- What would make “common sense” for readers to see when they view my “home page”.

To achieve a “webpage” layout”, simply change the “Reading Settings” from the “latest posts” to a “static page”. The “Front page” is definitely “mostly posts” but really a “static page” called “posts”. Get it?

Further, the “Post page” is also a “static page” called “blog”, which is “published” as a blank page with no text. But it will have “Blog pages to show at most – 3 pages”. Get it?

Not really? Too bad!

Then go to the “Dashboard >> Reading” and set the following to:

• Front page displays
  • A Static page
    • Front page: Posts
    • Post page: Blog

With my paid CSS upgrade, I centered the sitename, removed the hover padding of images with links and added discs to listed items with links, located in the sidebars

The “Image Colour Settings” is “Striped Purple”. And the top navigation bar is limited to “home” of mostly posts and “contents” of mostly pages. It’s logical and simple. Either the readers will take time to read more or not care at all!

The sidebars sport my favorite widgets of both “Gravatar” and “Welcome back!” They are on the topmost part of the left and right sidebars, respectively. The “Sticky posts” for my “Howdy” post and its YouTube video and for the “DST disabled” notification are back where they belong – front and center!

I like this theme because it has timestamps for single views only, two sidebar columns for more widgets, and templates for “Archives” and “Links”. The font size may be small but at least the font color is darker against a lighter background.

Shall I stay with this theme until something prettier comes along? For now, that’s the plan until I get bored again!

Well, it’s almost midnight (PST) and I’m still wide awake after having napped twice during the mid-day and mid-afternoon because it was rainy the whole day.

After lurking online and sampling CLEANER weblog sites, I’ve switched themes again. This time it’s:

Albeo by Elena G. – A light and colorful two-column theme. Read more about Albeo →.

I’ve cleaned up the sidebar to include only three widgets: Albeo Search, Albeo Top/Latest/Tags and “Recent posts”. This theme includes templates for “Archives” and “Links”.

Also, I’ve added two new pages to streamline the look to my new weblog.

The “About” page includes two word definitions: “Flynnism” and “webloggerism”.  Both essentially and perfectly describes my weblog, which has a supplemental page, “FAQ” for those readers who prefer to read on!

The “Author” page include one word definition about “Flynn”, followed by yet another supplemental page called “Author” for those who like to read more details.
