Arg! Sorry folks! I had to change my theme again. I really preferred the meta data underneath the post entry title. It’s similar to the layout of Yahoo! News: Title, source, time/date stamp, followed by the excerpt and/or article itself.

I tried the new Lucian E. Marin theme for WordPress (Andrea) but prefer the old one (Journalist v1.9). The custom image of a beach background has  enough `darkness` from the sky to read the dark fonts and enough `movement` from the seas brighten the blog. Plus, this old theme has my TIME STAMPS for both `front/home page views` and `single page views`.

I’ve been switching themes and decided to use: Inuit Types by BizzArtic.

I discovered the best widget to use for the `Front Page Intro – Use a Text Widget in this widget area to add an introduction to your front page` is the `Gravatar` widget, which I titled as `Howdy!`

This made sense because of:

`Text displayed after Gravatar. This is optional and can be used to describe yourself or what your blog is about.`

I used the page titled `About` as the:

`Gravatar link. This is an optional URL that will be used when anyone clicks on your Gravatar: `http://thebloggingpath.wordpress.com/about/`.

For the Gravatar image itself, I’ve set the following to reflect:

• Size. Extra Large (256) pixels.
• Alignment: Center.

Once again, I like this theme because the `Theme Options` provides six `Color Schemes` of which I chose `6-dark-black` and a selection to `Show sidebar content on the left`, which I checked off.

Plus the posts are featured as excerpts as two columns for the `front/home page` and as a single column for successive pages displaying `older posts`.

Well, I’m trying `Dusk by Becca Wei` again. I used the original `purple` color to build around the baby blue and gray colors. I feel like spanking this weblog. I’m not feeling the pizazz, the oomph! It’s a bad  boy, indeed!

Late last night, I’ve been switching WordPress.com themes again. This time it’s back to:

Andreas09 by Andreas Viklund and Ainslie Johnson

A three-column theme with customizable colors and sidebars on the left and right.

PROs:

• Theme Options:  Image Colour Settings: Striped Orange. It matches the color of my gravatar, which is a golden orange sun, perfectly.
• Three columns. Good for adding more widgets on either side of the contents elements.
• Time/date stamp on single view mode.
• Smaller than normal fonts.
• Auto width for smaller screen resolutions at 800 by 600 pixels and those using ZOOM-IN feature of their web browsers.
• Top navigation bar, no drop-down menu, though.
• Blog description (or tagline) underneath blog title: Both appear on upper left hand corner of weblog.

CONs:

• Still wanted cleaner meta data all bunched up together underneath post entry title.

A light and simple two-column theme graced with greens and oranges.

In order to accommodate different screen resolutions and for those using the ZOOM-in feature of their web browsers, the `width elements` have been adjusted:

• wrapper is `auto`;
• content is `65%`; and
• sidebar is `30%`.

In addition and in consideration of those cultures (such as Hebrew and Japanese, for examples only) that read from right to left, I’ve set the `sidebar element`of introductions to the `right` with the `content element` of reading materials to the `left`.

Ack! I’ve switched WordPress.com themes again! This time it’s:

ChaosTheory by Anonymous

A dark single-column monster developed exclusively for WordPress.com.

All I did was move the `entry-meta` element to the left and give it a minimum height. This is to give the effect of a time-date stamp, located nicely underneath the post entry title! Is that too hard to ask without having to edit my paid CSS upgrade?

And the other meta elements, such as categories, tags (or topics), comments, and edits appear hidden. But when one copies and pastes the data onto a document file, the meta element is still intact.

Then the font sizes and font styles were changed. The blockquote had to be adjusted. And a couple of width elements were set to `auto`. I’ve centered the blog title and the blog description. The global navigation bar is floating to the left, too.

AND the original dark color scheme of black and blue is the combination of an ode to my hurt feelings thanks in part by TPTB and pals, including the FEDs. Plus, it should be easier on more sensitive eyes.

Oh, neat! I discovered only a few things when using the 2010 default theme – Twenty Ten – for WordPress.com:

• The RSS feed (when viewed using Windows Internet Explorer) shows ‘Continue reading →` at the end of each posts set on `Excerpt view`.
• The list type for  unordered list (when adding new `posts` or `pages`) shows a large square.
• The text size (when adding new `posts` and `pages`) is larger than normal.

While I like the `Enterprise Theme` by StudioPress, I like `Magazine Theme` by StudioPress better. This is EXACTLY the layout I want – a box-like, squared-off weblog:

• Main highlight stuff somewhere in the middle.
• More boxed-off highlights off the sides and bottom.
• One side bar.
• Search bar on top.
• RSS feeds on top (and/or bottom).
• Top navigation bar as tabs.
• A return to top links somewhere on the bottom.
• Credits nicely cornered off at the bottom.

I just hope the Theme Team here at WordPress.com could find a theme with my much preferred TIME stamps, too. Waaahhh
