  • 20061021-Frustrated Bored

I’ve been blogging in private mode because certain people have nothing better to do but make a big deal with my expressed opinions via these blogs. I may decide to make each blog public later. I am hoping Yahoo! could add a selection button for certain blogs to remain private while some public. But right now I don’t feel like revealing too much ‘sensitive’ material to ‘sensitive’ souls – boo hoo!

There is nothing much to blog since I used my ‘time’ reading long head articles online and thought I lost my writer’s skills. I notice there are three ‘hits’ tonight and assumed one happens to be a certain person who doesn’t know how to behave; to quiet the mind and to keep the status quo – which was once my peace.

Pumpkin season is almost upon us – two weeks from now. The spot lights from the pumpkin patch about a quarter of a mile up north from my road is and has been for the past few days showing a double line fixed directly over our house with a left line on a few angles away from center point and an array of other moving but dimly lit ones. I think the angle may measure approximately 33 degrees but unfortunately I do not have a protractor on hand to do scientific research.

I tried taking pictures of these spotlights with first my cellphone and then my digital camera. This was attempted from the stairways through the upstairs windows and I had no success but total darkness from the viewable screens. I need to find a good camera that will take night time scenes for those weird moments in life.

I have composed two more blogs because I need to be heard by my invisible public. My blogs have to be ‘nice’ and ‘pretty’ now because this person and others from higher levels of the world have been reading. Those that choose to read further have also tagged and listed like me. For those who know better, I’m still alive too.

P.S. I really would like Yahoo! to add a feature whereby the bloggers could select which individual blogs are private from public.

  • 20060611-Silently Busy

My day has been very slow but productive as I kept busy around the house. At 10:30AM I heard the garage door slam downstairs. This signaled that my bio-units are out of the house. I did my usual morning routine.

My body did not feel like responding to any movement at all and thought I was low on energy. So I drank a small amount of coffee drink, which didn’t work, and then orange juice from the fridge.

I waited for a boost as I lay on my bed. I craned my head upward to look outside my window and saw the nice blue skies. This was another refreshing day as the cool wind blows through my window. Later in the afternoon, there were pop corn clouds. In the evening, wispy vertical clouds came forth in the western horizon.

There was little hope of any recovery as the lethargy of blogging in the morning until 04:30PM continues to weigh upon me. So I lay on my computer bed and did the same as I wait for any motivation.

I sighed and went downstairs and started removing items from my bio-unit’s closet that belonged to the linen and storage closets upstairs. After bagging almost a dozen pairs of old eyeglasses and cases and stuffed away in another cabinet, I proceeded to organize smaller plastic drawers for Maws sewing and medical supplies.

The items were illogically organized. Buttons were in the thread compartment; splinters were mixed in with bandages and leftover garters and scraps materials had no place. The mess made me frustrated as I did my best to make sure this won’t happen again. But I know my efforts will be temporary.

I have placed Maws personally knitted wears, her sweaters and some shirts haphazardly to the original shelves where I removed boxed items, such as baby and christening clothes, an old childhood vaporizer which is now in the garage with other rarely used appliances, and a box of figurines meant to be gifted as junk.

Then the pain of transferring between two cleared closets upstairs began. I could not decide how to start and had to stop my brain from thinking and meditated for an answer. Nothing inspirational came to mind as I debated between the ‘electronic’ closet and the ‘paper’ closet.

Two old computers and one monitor were already sitting in my computer closet. So this would be the ‘electronic’ closet, which now contains Paw old projector; projector screen and other electronic goods, such as an old Atari system with game cartridges; old negatives of photos; and more of Paws accessories to photography.

The ‘paper’ closet is already loaded with toilet paper and paper towels which were brought from the parking lot sale of a military facility. Old hangers made of wood, wires, plastics and of various shapes and sized hang here. Some holiday figurines; decorations; gift wrapping accessories from downstairs and the garage have been stored in this closet.

I had to move four carry on downstairs to be stored underneath the stairs with the rest of the luggage. I had Paw throw a useless one without its leather handle. I found three more of Brats property but have stored the Atari cartridges with the unit and dumped the two in the garage for later pick up.

Nearby was the front door closet, which is directly in front of the main door. I kept this door open to aerate the odor from Paws’ leather jackets while I placed my snowboard from underneath the stairs to the closet on the right. I had to move the jackets over and hang three long umbrellas to the right.

My next closet was the linen. But I had to eat lunch and feed Maw who had walked around the backyard. She is beginning to look at our fluffy white clouds above. This is encouraging her to see pictures in the clouds too. I love taking pictures and show her what I see from my camera.

Paw was ironing his new clothes. It seems that he also bought a new pair of slippers earlier this morning. Since he couldn’t find some nice cotton pairs, he opted for the leather ones. He likes the open toes and not the kinds that strap between the toes.

I don’t like those painful straps either. My toes are already spaced far apart. While on this subject, tight shoes and high heels are eliminated from my wardrobe. I am down to the same ugly pair of fake black leather pumps and my white rubber shoes for running.

So upstairs I went and cleaned up the small hallway cabinet. This one is designated for holiday table clothes and napkins. I couldn’t believe I found leftover materials with red trucks and two styles of kitchen window coverings. I found a white oblong napkin with green embroidery all by itself and placed it on our alter space nearby.

I vacuumed more spider webs from the closets and from the shelves. The linen closet was confusing because we have more miss matches than necessary. There was enough space for two more hampers. I found a plastic caddy with four small shelves from the kitchen and requested Maw to buy me the same one in lime green color to match.

So I stuffed washcloths and hand towels here and left the bottom shelf to the large towels. I do not understand the logic for having too many towels for so few people living in this house. Maybe this is for emergency or flooding purposes or for guests that never seem to come by.

The middle shelf remained for bed sheets and bed spreads. The top shelf smelled moldy as I stuffed the four ruffled bed skirts; replaced two boxes of blankets from the ‘paper’ closet; and folded two bed liners and a blanket. The remaining blankets are either currently in use or remain downstairs in my bio-units’ closet.

By 05:00PM, the day slowed down to feeding the ailing TC by hand with oat groats and taking my much needed shower. Later I found Maw coming upstairs to remove and replace the pillow case from Brat’s purple pillow to mine. We didn’t deliver this one and three other items to the boy because Paw felt the boy would come by to pick up later on. We then ate dinner.

Maw seemed lonely and came upstairs. She requested I help her exercise her left leg by leaning on her bend leg towards her front. Later she wanted to hear a Filipino favorite on cassette tape but I had to retrieve her boom box from her bedroom. The heavy stereo looked great on Brats’ armoire.

I didn’t realize she would stay this long upstairs. We soon danced to two musics and I found that we synchronized our dance steps towards the end of the second tune. She, like Grandma Val, is very graceful. I, on the other hand, am too stiff and my steps are not light. I do leave heavy print marks behind, by the way.

I tried to entertain her some more by measuring the distance from and between the walls of the armoire and the dresser. The vacuum couldn’t clear one side and had to take out all the drawers of one piece and move a bit to the right each time. I used my middle finger to measure the distance of exactly two inches from the wall. My middle finger is exactly three inches to the knuckle.

I was getting a headache from her loud music and the closed windows. Earlier Maw wanted my windows closed because she felt cold. I felt suffocated and wanted to get out the same room because of the heat and her smell. There was also this pressure head ache as I lighted my two candles before my make shift alter upstairs for the night.

By 08:30PM, Maw claimed that she needed to use the bathroom downstairs. And I finally could rest. I tried to blog but the different one was being serviced. So I decided to meditate until 09:20PM. I felt some tummy ache as I thought of the events of today; how to improve our harmony together and to stop thinking too much.

With that said, I’ve accomplished much today. I did receive some appreciation for today’s work from Maw, who, in return, received her compliments from her friend ‘Any Season’, who had left a phone message last Friday claiming that the very sound of Maws voice or encouraging words healed the old lady. I have yet to hear the heartfelt and sincere thanks from Brats but silence is golden, right?

  • 20060430-Merry Moving

Today, I’ve helped Brat move his property from this house into his new one. Twit was also there and was amazingly strong to have picked up boxes I would consider heavy for me. Both have careers in the IT departments so they are used to handling the computers at work.

I went downstairs and greeted my bio-units but silence was forthcoming. I drank two cups of hot coffee brewed by Maw from downstairs. This silent treatment does not bother me one bit because, by nature, my personality is to say little and to stay quiet most of the time.

The twosome left unannounced to an unknown location. This is very unusual and shows how manipulative old timers could be especially when their old worlds are being undone by a couple of spoiled children of theirs, who want freedom.

I refuse their playing victims of not being respected during the couple’s first move together. I could be wrong and maybe should have asked Brat if he requested their assistance.

I was already wrapping the coins of Brat when he asked me in angry tone to help him move some of his boxed up property downstairs around 11:00AM. I could not understand why he glared at me for not sounding too co-operative initially.

I should have stopped him right there and told him off with that kind of attitude. But I knew this was yet another opportunity to lose my weight and raise my heartbeat, which should flush out stagnant blood throughout my sedentary system.

So I grumbled to myself as usual and forced myself to offer whatever time I had today. I was feeling grimy and had to take a quick shower prior to exerting my precious effort and energy to make their move smoother.

Brat, however, did notice that I was already out of breath within five minutes after going up and down the stairs to bring down the lightest boxes. At least, I was neither seeing stars, yellow spots or sparkling dots in the front of my eyes nor feeling dizzy.

The first trip included his boxes of clothes and other essential; while the second trip included his gadgets for hobbies. A third trip to include his two kayaks of plastic (to take) and Greenland (to leave) and his three remaining bicycles, which he will bike one for each week from here to his house, would have been nice.

I was hoping to go back the second time immediately after unloading the first batch but had to stay to bring the rest upstairs at Brat’s request. This took another one hour or so and wasn’t feeling comfortable being there without Twits approval too.

I had a stomach ache from eating the ice cream from the ice cream truck, which mysteriously appeared in front of their new house while the song ‘Fur Elise’ played at 11:55AM. ‘Namaste’! I said to the driver (or one of my many ‘watchers’) after Brat and I got our sweets.

The second trip was much faster. Because I felt stronger after the initial flush of ice cream, bottled water and a carbonated drink afterward. Also, I felt little pain of exertion due to doing my simple stretches and exercises, which helps to keep the flabby skin under control and to strengthen my muscles.

Afterward, we dropped off the extra boxes at the trash section of her condominium. We then ate at a Vietnamese restaurant. We each ate US8.00 notes worth of meal. And since I am elder sister to the couple, I offered to pay. My first credit card maxed out and had to use my second of six cards to pay a total of US43.00 notes.

This is my expression of hard work well done. Together we could make happiness possible. Although Brat had sentiment that my bio-units were not there to help with the physical move, I mentioned that the old timers cannot be there all the time.

That is why my role is the middle person, who would give them my blessing on behalf of these old fashioned people. I would support Brat, who seems to really want the bio-units to participate more in his new life.

Today was a merry move for new beginnings on another clear blue sky and crispy fresh air. I am currently playing on my laptop one of Vaihi‘s album of mostly Tahitian words, which I cannot understand. The other foreign languages I could understand are Tagalog and very basic Japanese and French.

The palm trees surrounding my neighborhood seem to sway and beacon me to come back to my past incarnate home somewhere in the Pacific and away from the place I existed for three long decades with the strong figure head of Paw and the hot headed likes of Maw.

  • 20060308-Sun Arise

On your mark, get set, go! That’s how everyone should start every morning, like the race cars that start up fast and speed even faster around each turn of the race track. When the feeling is right and the energy level is high, there is much to do in so little time as part of the daily routine to get ready for work.

I quickly decided to get up, make my bed, open the wooden blinds of the second floor to allow the Sun indoors (for good luck as passed on by Maw from Gigolo), take my shower, brush my teeth, gurgle the stinging mouthwash and put air into my tires inside the garage. I debated whether to buy batteries for my digital camera but decided to blog while my mind is still fresh and alert instead.

Today, I woke up early at 06:30AM because I couldn’t drift back to sleep. My bedroom window is facing in the northern direction while the foot of my bed is facing towards the east. I do not need to use the alarm clock because the Sun happens to shine brightly through the ‘Hunter Douglas’ wooden blinds and my system wakes up automatically.

Sometimes I could tell myself to wake up on a desired time by visualizing the face of the clock and my body synchronizing at the same time. My body is already used to getting up around this time in the morning not unless I ruin the sleeping pattern by blogging into the next morning.

During my growing years in California, I used to feel groggy and sleepy all the time. I slept an average of ten to fourteen hours, like Paw. My system was charging its batteries during those emotional times.

I didn’t cry much after sobbing hysterically at the dinner table that one night after Brat teased me. I had my period then and realized that I had to control my emotions from then on to avoid upsetting other family units.

I was lazy, jobless and had nothing productive to do in my life. I didn’t make my bed, shower, exercise nor did anything that mattered to family units that were much cleaner than me. I left all the cleaning up to my parents because this was their house and wanted to be left alone.

Currently, I find myself going to bed later and sometimes past midnight. This is due to the passions of blogging my memoirs and in poetry, which I never knew I could do before my awakening on V-Day of 02-14-2006.

Drifting off to sleep has not been easy recently because I still have so much to share to the world. Waking up early is now important as I look forward to more stories to compose. It’s almost springtime too and that is significant to someone who likes to arise bright and early in the morning.

  • 20060307-Stand Stills

Here we go again, it’s time to blog. I try to practice my novice writing skills by blogging at least once a day. My brain is currently at a standstill and had to sit in front of this computer for a good thirty minutes while waiting for the cogwheels in my mind to start spinning.

This almost feels like being stuck in a gridlock during rush hour and not using the restroom prior to leaving work. That is what happened when a car is not used for a long time. The engine, like my writing brain, takes longer to start. I remember dark black smoke coming out of the exhaust pipe of one of our cars due to not using it for two weeks.

Over the years my bio-units paid off in cash a total of seven vehicles and are currently down to two now. It’s all about working hard and saving. Donating these vehicles came from their hearts, of course. And that’s how we are.

I prefer to be the minimalist in the family and let Brat have the headache of paying for the maintenance and repair of these two cars once they are his, if he wants. I already have my gray colored 1996 Ford Mustang and it runs fine except that I have to be careful not to accelerate too fast or I’d start smelling smoke from underneath the hood.

I already spent too much on that car with new tires and its major tune ups at those expensive dealerships, which have the parts anyways. I think my brakes are feeling squishy and it’s making a squeaking noise each time I press the brake pedal. I don’t like my car breaking down on me.

I should utilize the public transportations like VTA buses and BART train system more often instead of looking “cool” in a fast car. I could avoid these harrowing experiences of being stranded, costly repairs, these high auto insurances costs and rising gasoline prices.

We do have these VTA bus stops that are approximately a quarter a mile or so apart. The closest is fifteen minutes away from our house and have traveled that distance on foot while attending high school.

It was when I reached age eighteen that I actually started using a car for attending college. As for the BART system, I use that to go up to San Francisco once in awhile. Next, I’ll learn how to ride the local trains here for fun to found out what it is like.

There is still the option of selling my paid-off, six-cylinders Mustang for a more fuel efficient Hybrid vehicle instead. I may either opt to take the public transportation, buying that Hybrid version for the sake of our environment, carpooling with no real friends, cycling with worn out knees or walking five miles to work on aching feet.

Wouldn’t that be nice if we all could ride on mini hovercrafts that are totally stealthier and sleeker in design and didn’t need the likes of oil or oil derivatives to run the advanced anti-gravity engine? I think this profitable and futuristic opportunity would be much cleaner for our atmosphere and the air we breathe.

I love breathing fresh air. We may be able to avoid these worrisome standstills when there are parts and fuel that never need to be replaced. Oh, but I must be thinking way ahead of our current intelligence because the general populace don’t have access to those transporters or star gates or time-travel technologies. Darn!

  • 20060304-Breaking Straws

“Peace is with you, Maw.” My little brat (old soul) said to my Maw (insecure child). Nothing but silence lingered in the air. Then the heated arguments would ensue with the child throwing her tantrums of kicking, screaming and crying at the founded soul of old wisdom.

Whatever has been transpiring between these two recently has escalated to the final battle of hearts. I do not know who will win. Both parties are expected to end their stage act soon enough. And I am excited to find out how this tragic play will end.

The evolution of anyone person is tremendous and I see great things about to happen. brat will move onward towards better days with his heart’s desire and a new house. Maw will be more restful knowing the boy has proved himself to be better. Paw will remain the same calm figurehead of the family.

And, as for me, well, my purpose as I have known for the past six years is to be the anchor that holds the vast cargo ship from a drifting beyond its limits. I’ve been dragging together my hopes and fears knowing some ‘Moron’ will pull through with love and hope for all of us. My will is no longer their betrayals of my heart.

The past few months have been a great test for us here so far. I feel springtime is almost upon us. I do hope the higher realms are not laughing too much at us. For we have all come a long way to figure out that there must be answers as to why we break each others’ backs over three dimensional efforts instead of breaking bread in peace.

There have been many moments of despair and disappointments with Maw. Laughing with us during this battle of wits among the likes of us Twits is helpful. For this same laughter within us paves the sincere purpose to be better than our current selves. I would prefer a comedic ending in this play by the way.

It’s not funny when Maw has claimed prior to the arrival of brat one hour and a half ago that I have no compassion or understanding. I almost lost my voice in choked up tears from being brought into the level of their playing fields. Yes, I’ll admit I am lazy woman. I do not like vacuuming, dusting, cooking, gardening or taking care of others’ businesses.

I prefer not getting close to people who instill fear-based thinking into others like brat and myself and suck our energies dry. There is still hope for the few who wish to be free from the daily chores that are no fun either.

This Maw may experience many lifetimes to learn from past mistakes and wrongs that she still today denies to have ever committed. I find that anyone self-proclaiming no sin whatsoever and that the heavens would embrace them when the time comes has wishful thinking and may have hit the wall themselves without their knowledge. I have observed this in other relatives who have lost loved ones and they too self-proclaim to have been sinless in their own minds. Broken hearts do have wild imaginations, I’m afraid.

What I have learned during the one hour discussion with brat is how much philosophical bent I’ve bestowed on this already enlightened soul. I merely reflected and discussed with him what I’ve gained from reading articles online. I’ve learned there is no room for dishonesty and hurtful conversations anymore.

I did my job well because I seem to have acted as a catalyst for this cleansing process of healing the emotional baggage between brat (for now) and Maw (later on). My hope is to make sure brat continues forward towards well-being and more children to reflect his happiness.

Oh, I can’t wait for the blessed events of many smaller feet versions of myself through the children, if any, of brat. Hey, my turn in producing at least one heir should be next, if possible at all.

For the meantime, I am caught in the middle. Both Paw and Maw downstairs will be taken cared of by me in their old age (if my future husband, if any, doesn’t mind). I will try to balance my devotions to both my parents of old outdated patterns of a Filipino culture not befitting today’s enlightened adults and brat who provides the kindred spirit of renewed hope in me from this caged-in box of an upstairs bedroom that has comforted me all this time.

I hope that this bag full of warm pandisal, a much larger and tastier Filipino version of dinner rolls, would suffice in as I fling said items with gusto towards any straw man that crosses my path ever again. Maybe then my aching back won’t hurt so much from being stepped on mercilessly or back stabbed unknowingly.
