U.S. Senate Approves Biggest Food-Safety Overhaul in 70 Years
By Molly Peterson – Nov 30, 2010 11:06 AM PT

The biggest U.S. food-safety overhaul in more than 70 years won Senate passage as lawmakers sought to curb food-borne illnesses that cost the nation an estimated $152 billion a year.

The U.S. Food and Drug Administration would gain more power to police food companies under the bill that passed today in a 73-25 vote. The measure, backed by the food industry, public- health groups and consumer advocates, adds inspections and lets the FDA force recalls, rather than relying on companies to voluntarily remove contaminated foods from store shelves.

Maybe, now we would be able to eat less (abused and dying) meat and become more healthy by eating fresh, organic food like vegans, eh? For crying out loud folks! There’s “protein in a pill” without resorting to killing animals as foodstuff.

Anyway, I want to make sure food is “natural”; grown and harvested with love and care; and labeled properly; so we hungry American consumers can make the right choices to keep our beer bellies from ever expanding and our arteries clear of clogging materials.

As long as “big brother” doesn’t knock down our front door and “inspect” our vegetable gardens grown from GMO seeds, then I’m sure we won’t be malnourished from relying too much on other “agri-businesses” overseas.

  • 20101130-Divorced Nutter

Today while Paw put up the Christmas lights along the gutter of the first level to the house, the divorced nutter kept coming out to watch. Her sisters, Aida and Luz, no longer speak with the crazy one. Maw had told them long ago that Juan and her were laughing and having a good time, while they were getting sick. This morning, she hosed the car again and checked the mailbox. Mail is NOT delivered until 2:00pm from Monday through Saturday.

On Sunday at around 8:45am, L0l!nd@ came out at the same time we did. She started her white, Honda CR-V and started hosing down the car, just like what I would do in the morning. But thanks to Paw, he has extra time to use one bucket of HOT water to remove the ice crystals to the my parked car on the driveway. The nutter checked her mailbox again. There is no mail delivery on Sunday!

To the SJPD, she needs to move or we will when justice is served. And you will have “nicer neighbors” on that zone.

  • Snow Blog

Hahaha! The WordPress.com has snowflakes cascading downward now! Neat and just in time prior to my anniversary day of being an over-weight bio-unit, stuck in this temp job from hell, near the back door and waiting for nothing!

    In recent news,

Pentagon study dismisses risk of openly gay troops

By ANNE FLAHERTY, Associated Press Anne Flaherty, Associated Press – 31 mins ago

WASHINGTON – Defense Secretary Robert Gates told Pentagon reporters on Tuesday that existing policies such as housing and spousal benefits for military service members “can and should be applied equally to homosexuals as well as heterosexuals.”

    —

Okay, if the military is going to “tolerate” gays serving OPENLY, make sure ALL personnel (especially the “straights”) get equal protection from “sexual harassment” by criminal offenders. I don’t want any fraternizing among those who are supposed to defend their country.

The distraction of making love can be better handled with a good BACKGROUND CHECK! That’s right! We don’t want nutballs killing innocent civilians either!

Anyway, gays can be just as violent as heterosexual when it comes to being “jilted” by their lovers. (Although I cannot see how they can produce children with the same sex, love is evil when not reciprocated by the intended target, err, I meant, victim, no, “love interest”.)

So yeah, afford equality for benefits but damn those gays if they start screwing around with each other among more traditionally trained military personnel. Quit being so blantantly nasty in public! Some are not used to seeing the same sex make out – for crying out loud!

  • 20101130-Weathery Ways

This morning was serene. The horizontal clouds and a few sylphs had pink coloration from the sunrise. Some blue skies were seen. Now there is a haziness from sylphs overhead. It’s cold but not freezing. Yesterday was freezing but the skies were amazing crispy, clear and blue.

After my 30 minute was from 12:30pm to 1:00pm, I had to rest inside my car for another half hour. I felt winded out but knew my third eye chakra was being activated again. I know because when I close my eyes I saw the faint buttery brown or golden flashburn of concentric circle(s).

After recharging my batteries, I peeked behind my sunshades and through the open windows. I see how deep azure blue the skies were and how pleasantly blistery calm the air of freshness. Truly, this is a blessing and a peaceful one.

Then I started ranting under my breath about going back to the temp job from hell.

  • Stylin’ Chaps

A while ago, there were photo-ops of two Russian leaders – Putin and Medvedev – enjoying what was an outing together. They were well-dressed and looking cool behind their dark sunglasses. If I recollect, Medvedev as wearing a black outfit, which was form-fitting and tight against his thin form. Putin too was in light-colored style but I cannot remember.

What I do recall was their cup of tea (or coffee, whatever). They were drinking from expensive-looking cups, which had very dark yellow-gold decorations. What caught my attention was how they were sitting relaxed at a small table and taking their sips of liquid with style behind their shades! They looked so hot – thuggish, powerful, yet refined and suave.

Then they hopped on board their golf cart to have more fun under the sun. Yeah, they should date (or marry) models. I didn’t mean to cap on Putin about getting involved with younger chicks via an OPEN forum discussion board this year (or last, I cannot remember). He should get busy.

  • Trimming Time

In a few more months, my temp job from hell will be over. If I were the company, I’d do a mini-trim starting with Nam, then Lucas and maybe Steve. How long have these people been here? It’s not good. They may be smart but there’s nothing more they can do but maintain what JenJen could pick up if hired full-time. These old timers are sucking up the benefits of the company. Raise your voice at me just and start talking too fast for my own good because I was thinking too slow for you impatient old farts and you are out! I swear go farg off!!

  • No Concern

“China and its people don’t care about others.”

    ~Maw last night during dinner…

    —

This is true. Although they appear harmless and friendly, they continue their traditional ways of annoying others. We can see in their behaviors. I’ve got a few examples:

  • 20101129-Noticing Numbers

At 10:11am, I saw the count of 33,433 from a spreadsheet. This morning my odometer showed lots of double digits. I’m getting too lazy to log those nice numbers recently, too.

  • Fantasy Matchmaking

I’m a failure in love and light. What could have been a happy-ever-after has brought me here: Blogging about other people’s lives. A thought occurred to moi a few minutes ago: The new guy and little Charissa (assuming she likes “men”) would be perfect together if not a nice match! I’m feeling giggly inside again! Why? Their heights would be perfect! Their smiling eyes and nice attitudes would match! Brouhaha! Seriously, if she wants to make kids, hey, there is this Irish guy waiting for her! I’m assuming he’s not taken, of course. And you know how cute guys are ALWAYS taken! Hahaha! Neat!

  • Zapping Neck

Since my sickness started on All Hallows Day, I’ve had this itchy feeling behind the back flap of my left nostril and somewhere on top where the Eustachian tube is located.

So, last night, I used DC’s zapper, which I placed on my neck on the left side – vertically to maximize coverage of the throat area. In a few minutes and thank goodness the batter was weaker so as to not cause severe burns, my itchy, dry feeling in that area is gone!

However, I’ve experienced post nasal drip during this morning’s 9:15am mass. The air was circulating downwind to my left nostril and I had to counteract the coughing spell with a Peppermint Lifesaver.

The mass was made more horrible in part by the singers (i.e. the old church lady with a high beehive of blond hair). She’s a VERY nasty German. Ack! And her singing is not the best. The microphone needs to be turned down or at least used to club the singers over the head for loud music!

I had to plug my ears during the ordeal. I wasn’t embarrassed to express my displeasure around tall, white folks. They were scary. Their skull structures are weird. Their hair styles are weird.

The whole place was teaming with un-singing, non-responsive robots (i.e. a group of Filipino with blond and red dye jobs.) Maw had informed them of donuts in the chapel and the tall teenagers seemed spaced-out. There was a darker-skinned Pinoy with solemn look behind a dark hooded sweat shirt waiting elsewhere in a solitary way.

Once again, the parish is teaming with reptoids and other crazy nutballs who are religious fanatics.

But I digress. I feel much better after zapping the cooties away. If only I could find a more powerful orgone device that would cause these entities to shape-shift, I’d be all the merrier. Maybe for once, the place will be made more “serene”.

  • 20101128-Trying Theme

Gosh darn it! I’ve switched WordPress.com themes again! This time it’s:

DePo Masthead by Derek Powazek/Noel Jackson — A classy template that draws on classic magazine design design for a simple, bold style. Read more about DePo Masthead →

    —
    The header:

Since my “Site Title” — “The Blogging Path” — was really big, I changed it back to “Flynn’s Blog” without the letter “s” – a plural form. I made use of the Theme Options (Author Box Text: Leaving this field blank will insert the blog author’s name.) It’s supposed to be for the “author’s name” but used the longer “Site Title” instead. By using the mouse/hover over “The Blogging Path,” one could see the “Tagline” read as “Alternative topics and other rants”. The header portion now looks “logical”.

Since this theme doesn’t have a “custom menu” I had to redo the pages and make five pages parents with the rest children under the “Contents” page. The “front/home page” is now a static page – “Howdy!” And the “posts page” is called “blog”.

The sidebar widgets are placed logically in the three bottom bars as usual – links, archives and other crap.
