Why my hip-hop posse would include LL Cool J
Topic # 8 – Prompted January 23, 2009: If you were a famous rapper, who would be in your posse? If you’re already a famous rapper, good for you! If not, list the members of your posse below.
LL Cool J
LL Cool J was the first rapper, well, actually, Run DMC, that popped into my mind. He just looks so posse and not nasty or thuggish looking like other gangster-like music artists. I’m not into rapping but he’s got some cool, old school lyrics. Thank you. -
My favorite place to hear music: San Jose Jazz Festival
Topic # 18 – Prompted January 20, 2009: What’s your favorite live music venue? First, what’s the venue’s name? In which city & state is it? Describe what you like about it, or the first or last time you were there. Any quirks?
I don’t remember much about it because that was long ago. Generically speaking, the food, wine and band were good. The people are all crowded and it was hard to not walk over them. The heat was too much to bear. So plan on bringing the usual hat, shades and lots of water to cool off.

20090830-Love Music
While friggin’ tweaking my paid CSS stylesheet upgrade to an old theme – ChaosTheory, I’m listening to this Spanish station on AM radio. It’s upbeat with mariachi bands and romantic songs playing, too. Unfortunately, I do NOT understand a word of Spanish.

Like Elvis, King Of Rock & Roll, Michael, King Of Pop, died leaving fans in tears & money makers richer. Barack Obama, King Of Fools, are you next to de-throne?

20090707-Celebrating Death
Listened to Jermaine Jackson sing ‘Smile’ very slowly. He wore that white glitter glove on his right hand. Love that song but shed a tear or two. Smile always..

20090707-Celebrating Death
Listening to Lionel Richie sing ‘Jesus Is Love’. Love country voice of past song better than gospel noise. Recall songs of white mistress. Beaten up by wife-911

20090707-Celebrating Death
Listening to Mariah Carey & pal singing ‘I’ll Be There’. Prefer festivity of releasing souls into heaven instead of morbid, depressing version. Still snickering

Born free, as free as the wind blows
As free as the grass grows
Born free to follow your heartLive free and beauty surrounds you
The world still astounds you
Each time you look at a starStay free, where no walls divide you
You’re free as the roaring tide
So there’s no need to hideBorn free, and life is worth living
But only worth living
’cause you’re born free(Stay free, where no walls divide you)
You’re free as the roaring tide
So there’s no need to hideBorn free, and life is worth living
But only worth living
’cause you’re born freeAuthor’s note: Since it is MLK day, my big brain came up with this lyric for today’s event. It’s from one of my favorite 33-record by Andy Williams from my childhood.
