  • Music Choice | Classic Country

For the past two days or so, Maw and I have listened to “Classic Country“, provided by AT&T. We tried “True Country” and “Today’s Country” but I’ve feel like I’m getting high blood pressure from the fast, rock-like beat of these two channels.

We both agreed that the CLEAR lyrics, slow tempo and overall “feel” of the “classical” version is the best. The story telling is usually about family, the hardship of life on the farm, coal mine and such, and the gratitude and thanks to the Lord, the parents and other who made their lives and success possible, like that nice and good-looking boy Brad Paisley (who stammered a bit/didn’t interview well with Greta the other night).

Maw learned some history from the header and footer of each song artist, such as Loretta Lynn, Emmylou Harris, Kenny Rogers, Roni Milsap, George Jones, Crystal Gayle, Dolly Parton, Willie Nelson, Waylon Jennings, etc. (Yes, I’ve listed the ones from the TOP OF MY HEAD and forgot the rest after Waylon).

I do recognize their songs, by the way. I must be OLD in order to appreciate this musical genre. (On a side note, Maw and I were watching a commercial on television for “Teen Years”, offered by Time. Neil Sedaka (now fatter but still talented) was a co-host for this commercial. Again, I do recognize these “doo-wop” style. And I was tempted to buy the 10 CD set for a mere $160 or so.

As for rock music, I still like to listen to the noise but have since “donated” ALL CD’s earlier this summer as part of my anti-hoarding, minimalistic philosophy. So beside watching the noise on recent uploads via YouTube, I still enjoy my old favorites, like classical musics but even Beethoven’s fast-paced, loud piano music can give me high blood pressure.

  • Releasing critters…

After a late breakfast, we starting the Halloween decoration on our front porch only. We were slow throughout the activity. By tuning into the AT&T channel 5129, we listened to Solid Gold Oldies and danced to Fats Domini, Chuck Berry, Elvis, Everly Brothers, and more songs from the mid-1960’s. We read some historical facts to each songs and giggled to the YOUNG photos of these song artists.

Afterwards, I swept up dried leaves from the back yard and saw that the old aluminum garbage can had to go. So I stomped on it lightly to flatten it, causing the bar from the top perimeter to slipt. So I grabbed a plier and proceeded to rip the bar for recycling. Then Paw helped to hammer the rest to fit nicely into the current recycling bin (or hard plastic).

Of course, two pale baby spiders appeared from underneath the top areas of the bar. They probably belonged to the BLACK WINDOW spider. All three were safely released from the old aluminum garbage can into the persimmon tree. The BIG spider is so smart that it tucked itself nicely into the bottom crevices when I tried to gently coached it out with an old persimmon tree branch.

Later, I saw a baby daddy long leg spider appear from near an old watermelon pit, which I wiped away from behind a countertop item. I scooped up the pale baby spider onto the same sponge and released it onto a leaf our fruit tree out back.

At 3:478pm, I saw the same black fly early this afternoon/morning. It kept looking at me as it perched on one of the wooden blinds upstairs in the computer bedroom. I telepathically told it to go to the opened window to the left so that I could release it through the closed screen. I sensed that it was ready and got up. And sure enough it went behind the blinds and paniced as I coached it to go towards freedom and into the outdoors upon my quick/jittery hands of opening the screen.

So you see folks. Look, listen and act. You are your own god. When an animal and critter stares, relax and the answers will manifest. Then act quicklyand sure footedly without panicking. And hopefully all will be well.

The weather is pleasant. The skies are crispy, clear and blue. One chemtrail appeared at 10:53am as Paw hooked up my lighted pumpkin and ghost decorations of the upstairs window above the landing. He barely reached the top hooks. The chemtrail went from north to south. Light-weight sylphs appeared and the chemtrail did not stick in the skies.

  • Playing piano slowly…

“Why don’t you play piano?” ~Maw while I strummed my cellphone guitar.

Fingers were VERY rusty and had to play slow to “strike” chords properly. Most songs are from the early 20th century and “allegro”, “presto”, “vivace” – or super fast. But I chose the slower songs at “level three”, my comfortable speed. I sight read, by the way.

  • Music Choice | Smooth Jazz

Walking as post-dinner exercise to the non-stop sounds of smooth jazz with mostly instrumentation, just the way I like it. Saxophone, classic/electrical guitar, keyboard, percussion and the walking, easy-listening beat, perfect for a warm night. Hehehe!

  • Toodle loo!

Skip to my Lou, my darlin’.”

    I take that queue
    from you
    as something meant
    for the loo.

Perhaps, it wasn’t enough, God knows.
    Until next time, “a tout a l’heure”.

  • One bread, one body…

After pooping, I saw a brief news segment about the. gay marriage debate and had an inspiration of a religious song: “One bread, one body” (or in Spanish, “Un pan, un cuerpo”. Here are a few lines of my lyrics:

    One man, one woman,
    One blessed vow.
    We are one couple
    in God’s own eyes.
    Though we are different,
    We can produce,
    One child to many
    In this one – world.

  • Army songs…

Just a couple of “incoming” thoughts to the Mews and her “Bert”: Keep up the punches and go with the flow. TPTB and the butt kissing pals are also in the “pipeline”; so there is much confusion going on and they truly believe in “faith”. I will need to concentrate on intentions better to help reduce the “noise”. If you can’t stand your purposes set before you, you have the right to refuse and others will take over where you left. Sounds familiar? Here are inspiring songs (based on your most recent blog title for the first tune and the solutions contained in the second set of tunes) that I hope the both of you and others will learn to take in stride.

US Army commercial ‘Be All That You Can Be’ – tanks (1987)” (by VideoWayback)

    ARMY.
BE ALL THAT YOU CAN BE.
    1-800-USA-ARMY
PAID FOR BY THE U.S. ARMY.

This particular video was dated around 1987 and was shown to my classmates and me inside the roll up van. Then the recruiters asked what they liked and disliked. One raised his hand: “Change the music”. All the recruiter could do was smile and offer an affirmative. It was close to graduation time in high school when that event and the following occurred: A recruiter called my home and I thought that it was going to be my first summer job. I actually made an appointment to visit the recruiters off McKee Rd. and they asked me series of questions and showed me videos. I had my chance to be part of the military but didn’t know WTF I wanted to do in life. As it stands, I’m going nowhere. Maybe I should have fired off some bullets, cause some blood to drain from the fleshy bodies of the “enemies” and die a martyr or at least a hero for doing a dirty “job”.

  • 20110415-Donating Away

Well, I found some old picture frames — either metallic or wooden, hanging or standing, from one wooden cabinet and in another hexagon-shaped cabinet I see some old piano/guitar books and sheet music! I feel like throwing all those away! But I cannot seem to throw away one memento from a former piano teacher. In this one book she wrote the following on the inside front cover:

    Oct 1, 1976

    Dear Fxxxxxx,

    I have enjoyed teaching you.
Indeed – it was a pleasure.
Go on! Continue! You have the
    gift not given to all.
    Sight read this book.
Wish to hear you sometime again.
    Good luck —

    Always,

    Mrs. Ibarra

  • 20110321-Random Thought

While mocking my sickness in coughs, more creative thoughts came to mind a few seconds ago. I had an imagery of my favorite ice cream: Vanilla with Chocolate Chip! That’s right! The “Dark Side” are the chips; while the “Light Side” is the cream.

Last week or so and as per “feedback” from a WM feed, yes, my thoughts include those with missing “heart chakras”. And for whatever reason they do have “souls” and serve to test those who dare to “mistreat” them. I’ve been sending these “lost tribes” several reminders that their hearts can be “changed”.

As per another form of communication, Saturday’s evening mass included a song #663: “Change our Hearts (lyrics by Rory Cooney)“.

  • Pharos Beacon

Beacon of Light, Beacon of Light!
Why do you shine so bright?
I cannot see your smiling face.
But your pinkest, sunshine rays. Oh!
Beacon of Light, Beacon of Light!
What do you want from me?
Do you need my help? Do you need my love?
You know I’ll be there for you.

Beacon of Light, Beacon of Light!
When can we meet at last?
Oh, take my hand. Let us walk on the sand.
To the sea of love, so vast. Oh!
Beacon of Light, Beacon of Light!
How do you know my thoughts?
Take my heart and my soul.
    Let me wiggle my toes,
Upon your foamy and watery shores.

Author’s note: Inspiration was from a photo of a sunrise at a beach and a gospel song. It almost sounds like a marriage proposal. Bah!

Below is the original lyrics to the song.

MOTHER OF CHRIST, MOTHER OF CHRIST
WHAT SHALL I ASK OF THEE?
I DO NOT SIGH FOR THE WEALTH OF EARTH
FOR THE JOYS THAT FADE AND FLEE, BUT…
MOTHER OF CHRIST, MOTHER OF CHRIST
THIS DO I LONG TO SEE
THE BLISS UNTOLD WHICH YOUR ARMS ENFOLD
    THE TREASURE UPON YOUR KNEE

MOTHER OF CHRIST, MOTHER OF CHRIST
I TOSS ON A STORMY SEA
OH LIFT YOUR CHILD AS A BEACON LIGHT
TO THE PORT WHERE I FAIN WOULD BE, AND…
MOTHER OF CHRIST, MOTHER OF CHRIST
THIS DO I ASK OF THEE
    WHEN THE VOYAGE IS O’ER
    OH STAND ON THE SHORE
AND SHOW HIM AT LAST TO ME

  • Bouncing Bored

OMG! I’m so bored at work that I’m literally bouncing up and down to imaginary trance (or house) music. `Boing! Boing! Boing!` I’m so lazy that the coffee is not strong enough to hit my system just yet as I slowly try to wake up. Maybe this morning’s banana had too much sugar.

  • The Rose

I remember singing the following old song during choir class back in my awkward high school days. I was wearing a retainer after getting my braces out. It ruined the sounds of my singing. Bette Midler and I share the same birth date, by the way.

The Rose Lyrics (sung by Bette Midler)

Some say love, it is a river
    That drowns the tender reed
Some say love, it is a razor
That leaves your soul to bleed

Some say love, it is a hunger
    An endless aching need
I say love, it is a flower
    And you, its only seed

It’s the heart, afraid of breaking
    That never learns to dance
It’s the dream, afraid of waking
    That never takes the chance

It’s the one who won’t be taken
    Who cannot seem to give
And the soul, afraid of dying
    That never learns to live

When the night has been too lonely
And the road has been too long
And you think that love is only
for the lucky and the strong

    Just remember in the winter
    Far beneath the bitter snow
    Lies the seed
    That with the sun’s love,
    in the spring
    Becomes the rose
