  • 20090622-Neverending Hairdo

    I loved the 1984 fantasy film `The NeverEnding Story` when it first came out long ago. It features a bunch of creepy characters, puppets and lots of action. The main character, Atreyu, is totally cute, though.

    Below is a downloaded copy of the YouTube.com by rubysohogirl: The NeverEnding Story.

    I also loved the theme song to this American film, saw the lyrics saved to my personal computer and decided to download a copy of this YouTube.com video. And for the first time I saw who performed this beautiful song.

    However, I can’t get enough of the hair-do. I laughed and remembered how the 1980’s style later influnced bands such as Chicago and an American television series Miami Vice.

    I love the lyrics by `Neil Peart` for the Canadian rock band  `Rush`. The meanings are very deep, philosophical and down-right creepy in a science fiction, esoteric sense. I had to search high and low just to find the lyrics three years ago.

    Maw was cleaning out one of her drawer (center) from her mirrored furniture, a first as a newly wed long ago, and pulled out a handkerchief, which her late eldest sister, Nita, gave to her many years ago. Nita told Maw to keep it in her handbag; for it is supposed to protect her. It is currently laying on a white, plastic table for viewing later on in the living room. It’s mostly in Filipino (or specifically Tagalog). Only Paw seemed to be able to interpret the words.

    I remember listening to a lovely song entitled `El Shaddai` as sung by Amy Grant and always wanted to know the lyrics to this song and hear it in its entirety. So, tonight was the time to find out, which I did by a quick search.

  • 20090201-Greek Chorus

    I clicked on an article about ‘Perfect Love‘ via the WM website. And my small mind came up with the perfect title to this blog entry, in which I offer my interpretation of the meaning behind this perfect ‘LOVE’, which is really ‘EVOL’ (or evil) spelled backwards, in this imperfect world.

    So I looked up the definition of ‘agape’ and really had my mouth wide open. It’s loaded with Christian influences. I don’t understand how ‘love’ cannot be made in the flesh between different blood lines.

    Agape

    1. (Christian theology) the love of God or Christ for mankind
    2. selfless love of one person for another without sexual implications (especially love that is spiritual in nature)
    3. a religious meal shared as a sign of love and fellowship
    4. 1607, from Gk. agapan “greet with affection, love” (used by early Christians for their “love feast” held in connection with the Lord’s Supper), from agapan “to love,” of unknown origin. In modern use, often in simpler sense of “Christian love” (1856, frequently opposed to eros as “carnal or sensual love”).

    Then I remembered one of the readings regarding ‘love’ during a wedding. To this date, I know more about their relationship than those fooled by mere photo-ops. And fighting prior to dating falls far from the following definition of ‘love’.

    1If I speak in the tongues[a] of men and of angels, but have not love, I am only a resounding gong or a clanging cymbal. 2If I have the gift of prophecy and can fathom all mysteries and all knowledge, and if I have a faith that can move mountains, but have not love, I am nothing. 3If I give all I possess to the poor and surrender my body to the flames,[b] but have not love, I gain nothing.

    4Love is patient, love is kind.     Now, unity means everyone is equal, right? Andm ‘holding hands’ mean none will fall from grace, right? Well, I just thought of a perfect song that goes well with people who believe wholeheartedly in perfect ‘love’. Wouldn’t y’all go nuts after hearing the lyrics play over and over again until you ears bleed and your brain blows up into pieces?

    In summary, I don’t know if love is something that exists already without us trying hard to comprehend or if we are all acting in a big play: either tragic (when someone takes person’s livelihood on the hopes that his release from hostages would be met) or comical (when there was nothing to loose by a few drops of precious tears caused by nefarious agents with a very sick sense of humor).

    I would suppose that love means many things from sunny days, clear blue skies, fresh air and water to reliable cars, happy parakeets chirping, calm and relaxed people. My main question is: who designed ‘love’? And how is ‘love’ supposed to help humanity? And why does ‘love’ exist?

    Greetings, Comrades!

    If y’all want to help the American economy, I suppose it is ‘okay’ to ‘socialize’ the American economy and pass that ‘financial bailout’. After all, it is as above (where the rich shall share) and so as below (where the poor will not be left behind). There will be no class distinction. We shall all be partakers (or investors), hold hands with each other and lift ourselves to the great nation, nay, unifying us towards the ‘New World Order’.

    It was originally aired on the Glen Beck Show on Wednesday, August 20, 2008. The song is based on the Russian National Anthem. It was the first time I’ve heard the melody in its entirty and I loved the feeling it gives off as progressive and far-reaching. I was not entirely humored with the lyrics comparing ‘Barry’ to the ‘Messiah’ or the use of a female celebrity, which doesn’t make sense.
