  • Steamed squid…

    image

Here is a simple recipe for squid steaming inside a large wok of:

    ~Well washed WHOLE squid.
~Brown mashed whole garlic cloves and chopped onions in vegetable oil.
~Add salt, ground black pepper, rice vinegar, soy sauce and some bay leaves.
~Cover and let stream until shrunken and cooked.
~Reduce extra water to preference. I like some sauce left over for my rice.
~Serve warm. Tentacle eaters enjoy! The more squeemish ones, like me, will opt for the calamari (or body only).

    Flaming red, Burning spot
    Capsaicin bullets, Tabasco shot
Into my eyes, not watering nose
    Batons flaying, and Taser® hose
    Pistols drawn, Miranda rights
No use crying, read my last rites
Into the ground for stealing food
Leaving behind my family and hood

Author’s note: Instead of taking my own photo for Matt’s weekly photo challenge on “hot“, I’ve decided to write poetry on his photo.

  • Jumping spider…

    image

Here is a photo showing a jumping spider on my blue T-shirt (from Michaels’ Arts and Crafts). The spider was located over heart area and I noticed it while trying to mix up Maw’s cup of “Edible Earth”. It wouldn’t get off my shirt when I tried to place it into a plant and I panicked when it moved off somewhere else. I don’t know where it went.

  • Scrambled eggs made easy…

    image

Here is an easy recipe for scrambled eggs for breakfast:

-Scramble six eggs (that’s two eggs per person). Optional: remove embryo sacks if you have issues eating unborn baby chickens.
-Chop onions and tomatoes. Optional ingredients: bell peppers, straw mushrooms, etc.
-Fry onion until cooked and slightly brown.
    -Fry your other ingredients.
-Pour your eggs into the NON-STICK pan for better result. (Use wide, baking spatula to scrap/squeegie ALL egg from sides of your BIG bowl.)
-Let eggs cover bottom of pan entirely for three seconds.
-Use your WIDE, flat-top wooden spoon to gently scoop eggs off to one side of the pan and let remaining liquids cover bottom of pan and cook three seconds each time.
-Use rounded-tip, wooden spatular to gather cooked egg remnants from side of pan and back into eggs.
-Slide the cooked eggs into a container and serve while warm.

Tip: This technique is for those who like their scambled eggs in big chunks and moist, not crushed and dried. We had this for breakfast yesterday.

  • Weekly Photo Challenge: Old Fashioned

    Old fashioned

    —

    In those days,
    the hustle and bustle of
    entering journals,
    filing contacts,
    setting appointments,
    sharpening pencils,
    correcting errors, and
    typing thoughts
    meant shuffling papers.

    In these days,
    meeting deadlines,
    can be done
in a blink of an eye
    electronically and
in the palm of your hand.

If only I know how to operate
    this latest technology,
    remember where I left off,
    could see the screens and
    move my fingers fast enough,
    then maybe change wouldn’t
    be so bad, after all.

Here is a photo showing the new light gray skin of Hangar One.

Went shopping at the DeCA in Moffett Field, CA, after dropping two HEAVY plastic bags of plums and Romaine lettuce (from our garden) with Caroline for Maw’s endocrinologist.

VERY clear blue skies allow sunshine to warm the earth and help dry my laundry. Winds cool upon skin and head as I hung the laundry of slippers and rugs to dry.

  • Hawaiian Tropicals Pancakes Breakfast

Went to Dennys restaurant for breakfast and with parental units. Had pancakes with peanuts inside, topped with coconut whipped cream and three pieces of pineapple. Notice how the bacon formed a smiley face with two sunny side rugs for eyes.

    If angels can fly,
    against the cripsy blue,
    Can you tell me why,
    how this can be true?

    They take life so lightly
    Leaving chemtrails behind
    They take love so highly
    Giving hope to mankind.

    Look into the skies
    you can hear them roar,
    See the lion’s military flies
    God’s fire swords war.

  • Got MicroTech?

    image

    image

Got two AXIO ST 32 CIC with Impulse Technology (www.mthearing.com) for both ears. Took 30 minutes to dispense from C.H.A.C. by Mr. Rios. Here are two photos showing the smiling faces to my hearing instruments.

“Designed for vibrant lifestyles, includes 16 channels and 16 bands for optimal high-resolution sound imaging. Includes premium noise cancellation and speech preservation system that provides unprecedented sound quality, ease of listening, and intelligibility of speech noise. Features include: best-in-class feedback canceller, Live 3D Speech Mapping, T2 Remote, Music Processing, Voice Indicators, Appointment Reminder, Touchless Telephone Solutions and Television Processing.”

The Hearing Aid is set to “Best Fit”. The Reminder feature is set to come back after two months. The visit should take 15 to 30 minutes. The T2 is disabled. There are four memories: Normal, Crowd, Restaurant/Party and Touchless Telephone. He combined the second and third setting.

    —

“It sounds like the bathroom.” I said with my new hearing aid.

“I can hear the bird singing!” I exclaimed to my parents as we stepped out into the heavy rain.

Everything sounds louder and crispier. I heard the rain splashing on the road, the vents and signal clicker. Even the parakeets are too loud. I heard the scaping sounds from my jeans against my skin. The crunchy sounds from chewing brocolli was too loud. Maw’s voice is booming and the television sounds normal.

But this volume is set slightly softer for now until the specialist adjusts it in two months.

A few minutes ago, I passed by the white, plastic colander of kumkwat fruit. Here is a photo showing a heart-shaped, burn mark on its orange skin.
