    Stories:
Fell both forward and backward on my wings.
Landed twice on my back at work, it seems
Helping hands helped without my full knowing.
Thank them many times for always showing.

Fell on roller skates up the stairs back east.
Had flowers, cried for my mom at least.
Fell on rear ends by granny one time.
Fell from snowboard by me and mine.

Fell while moving mattresses at our home.
Faced into closing garage door of bone.
    Didn’t break my expensive eyeglasses.
Stuck head with baseball in PE classes.

Looked upward to the western orange sky.
In October, oh five saw Ra’s right eye.
Questioned what I saw but let out a sigh.
Didn’t have camera as I drove by.

    Status:
The snow has fallen, the rain is falling.
The warm sunny days has been forestalling.
The clouds above are whiter and fluffy.
My small world spins and my nose gets stuffy.

I read and learn and practice at slow pace.
How does one overcome falling from grace?
My strange dreams are vivid recently.
I can’t fit in with much futility.

Opinions matter as the likes of mine.
I rant and rave for each and every time.
Where do bloggers go? Who will ever show?
I’ll ask tonight’s full moon maybe it knows.

Tonight’s lunar eclipse, I expect the best.
Everyone join hands once again in this test.
Who will prevail without panic and mayhem?
Raise good intentions with a great, Amen!

  • 20060313-Onions Cry

Tomorrow, my cavities will be filled.
There will be sounds of teeth being well drilled.
It will be resin and not garlic bread.
I won’t be eating mercury or lead.

My cavities start to throb in such pain.
My one hundred dollars is paid in shame.
The dentist will say, “This won’t hurt one bit!”
“I’ll numb your nerves with this fine needle tip.”

With my mouth open, the work will begin.
The smell of smoke is expected within.
Waiting is more painful than I could bear.
An embarrassing drool is what I’ll wear.

I brush my teeth and floss everyday.
Brushing more than once is enough, I’d say.

I grind my teeth at night from daily stress.
These would wear my teeth from more to less.
I do not chew on hard food or hard ice.
My teeth are not quite pearly white but nice.

I have my parents to thank for straight teeth.
I wore these steel braces wrapped like a wreath.
Both under bite and crooked teeth are fine.
These TMJ clicks will always be mine.

I never smoked and I never will.
A kiss from a smoker may be a thrill.
If your have false teeth, I won’t you ask why.
Please don’t smell of onions or I will cry.

The taste of sugar or sweetened desserts
is better than smelling that really hurts.

  • 20060312-Mother Earth

My dream worlds are many and even had one of my vivid dreams of Kiev in Mother Russia. I do not remember much from the dream itself but I’ve heard a few minutes ago on a local publicly supported station on cable the most moving and beautiful song ever, Russian National Anthem. The singer is full of pride as he sings in front of the Red Square in Moscow. And the event for him is similar in pride to an American singing in front of the White House. I had goose flesh from hearing the presentation tonight and the singer is quite handsome too.

I enjoyed other public televised presentations like ballets, operas, symphonies and documentaries of all kinds. Nothing could compare to the talents of solo artists that play in concert halls in front of audience or outside near historical landmarks. Some productions present the cultural backgrounds of people and history while the songs are playing in the background.

The solo performances of guitarists and violinists accompanied by orchestrations and singers in the background have gained my interest over the years. I grew up with the sounds of music from playing the piano at home and from listening to the soothing sounds of guitars and violins. The stringed instruments are more familiar and relaxing to me.

Singing is by far the most versatile instrument any human could have. We could sing alone in the shower or together in a choir. One could sing softly of romantic preludes or loudly of racial prejudices. The voice of one person could sing praises of glory for overcoming social injustice or mourn loses in honor of fighting for freedom. The voice of unified people is powerful and calms the savage beasts that promote war, famine, disease and death.

Now that the Cold War is over between these two great and powerful nations, I feel the connection of spirit through the love of song, dance and cultural ideals being shared across different parts of the world. The cultural presentation tonight has inspired this writer to know that we the people on this earth have learned of each other’s hopes for a better future.

Mother Earth has come a long way too of uniting everyone no matter where they live. There is only one world and the talent of each individual from each country has but to bring these hearts together through music and arts. My personal hope is to learn from other countries that have much to offer in peace.

  • 20060312-Sun Dried

Laundry is being done on this Sunday, the day of rest. Rest is not practical in today’s working class suburban. There are chores to do, bills to pay and blogging to compose. Outside is a blistery cold and blue sky peeking from behind the puffy clouds that seem more frequent in the past year. The mockingbirds sound their mating calls in the morning and late at nights.

The day is quite relaxing as I try to digest Maw’s overly big version of hamburger patties, which she mashed with her bare hands last night to get the seasonings well blended. The taste did not jive with my diminishing lack of smell. And I had to eat my chewable papaya enzyme tables to aid in the digestion of this foodstuff.

Paw did a good job cooking and not burning the meat outside on the char broiler, which still has enough propane left in the still somewhat heavy tank. Paw is now enjoying his afternoon walk around back after meticulously cleaning up the grill and placing the equipment back under the open, wooden patio attached as part of the main house.

His healthy lifestyle has been to eat apples and oranges every morning with at least one toast or plain bagel and warmed milk from the microwave. Then he takes his medication and vitamins religiously and on the designated hours. And though he has a large appetite, he still manages to maintain his medium build.

It’s us women that tend to pack on the pounds and don’t know why this seems to be the case. We love to eat, hardly exercise but do take our vitamin supplements whenever we choose to remember. Walking is what we do around the house, outside the backyard and within the newly interior decorated shopping mall of the Great Mall in Milpitas, CA. We used to walk around parks and our neighborhood but that aggravated our allergies.

Allergies have been in our lives. Brat and Maw have breathing ailments and coughing spells that don’t seem to go away. I get skin ailments that don’t want to heal and Paw seems to not get affected by anything at all except the occasional sniffles in the morning from being awaken too early. I wonder if Paw daily regime for physical fitness is an area we have overlooked.

I’d look over the pages to find the answers of many health articles and still am curious as to why people would go to such extreme means to stay fit by working out at gyms, look years younger by getting plastic surgery and to live longer by jumping into the band wagons of various advertised products and services.

Sure, I’ve struggled to fit into those tight jeans cutting off the circulations to my legs, the light blue eye shadows clashing with my dark brown eyes and feathered hair cuts sprayed upwards in hair-bear fashion.

Working out at gyms made me sick inhaling these stinky smelly people who look like they rather date and eat meat that happen to be friendly enough to talk. Exercising at home didn’t do much to motivate my already blogging habit. And taking breaks and lunches at work wouldn’t make working any less enjoyable.

It’s worth having a life knowing that the simple activities such as doing the laundry is exercise enough. Unloading the basketful of damp clothes and hanging outside to dry under the radiant Sun is almost like doing a workout. Bending down repeatedly to pick up the clothes and standing on the toes to reach the clothes line takes but a few minutes.

Plus I get a farmer’s tan with my hairy forearms being darker than the rest of my paleness due in part for being a mixed breed of Asian, European and aboriginal Filipino of all sorts. So I don’t need to go to the tanning parlor, which I’ve done in the past with no success other than getting a red face.

I feel more Asian and this is from the looks of my epicanthic fold of the eye and overall yellow toned paleness of the skin, European from my strong and wide, militaristic jaw line (of Paw’s side) and testy and suspicious nature (of both sides) bred from years under the Jesuit inquisition and Filipino from my somewhat kinky, hairy darkness, lack of a high bridged nose (with the exception of the males on Maw’s side) and attunement to nature.

Nature is where I would find my niche. I’d take pictures of flowers and animals, walk among the tall grasses and weeds and drink the rays of the Sun behind my dark shades as I sit on a reclining plastic chair. Here is where I’d eat my sun dried tomato pizza while hanging the clothes to dry under the Sun. I love the smell of freshly sun dried laundry. It’s paradise where money doesn’t get washed or interferes with my blogs.

  • 20060311-Feeling Full

Calmly I walk downstairs expecting the worse to happen after not attending a family function last night. All I got was calm and peace knowing whatever sacrifices I made didn’t matter. Everything didn’t seem to fit anymore the way that normally would on a fine cloudy and rainy morning.

Last night upon return home from work on 05:30PM, I sang happy anniversary to the familiar tune of happy birthday. It was their anniversary and my birthday. And we all should have been happy. I told them I had eaten a big lunch and will take a nap before going out to dinner.

Mysteriously, my energy started to diminish around 02:00PM after eating that sandwich as I sluggishly tried to work at my desk with half-opened eyes. As always in my diligent ways, I managed to finish the daily lockbox work from the bank and applied whatever cash receipt payments towards the customers’ accounts in our newly upgraded accounting system. I don’t like the way the system is set up but that’s typical of any company where nothing is ever perfect. I shut down my computers at work and carefully drove home.

My system shut down around 06:00PM and did not fully recover until 07:30PM local times. My sleep was restless as I tossed and turned a bit before drifting to this state of half consciousness. I couldn’t move a muscle and didn’t know what was happening. I decided to let the sleepiness over come me. I decided to let my bio-units down.

It was a time for celebrating and I imaged the four (my bio-units, Brat and Twit) were having fun without me. My lack of enthusiasm didn’t phase their enjoyment together. I’ve always been the extra body of any even numbered parties all this time. Couples were seen side by side; I watched alone.

And there I was. I was alone again only this time on the comfort of my bed in the security of my bedroom. The logic was I had too much to eat during lunch worth over six dollars in cash. And I didn’t feel the need to sit at a dinner while others ate moderately expensive meals. I’d be sitting alone again for not participating in the feeding frenzy.

I felt I’ve eaten enough for that one day. I felt’s I’ve had my fill of togetherness. I wanted to be left alone and apart from people that seems nice and friendly. They were not angry but calm, understanding and forgiving. Usually there would be loudness and proof of encouragement to get up and go outside to have fun. That time was a sign of discouragement that all is not well.

I was filling myself up with every notion of escaping, of leaving a place of comfort and joy, of moving on to experience true freedom in friendship and of exploring different surroundings wherever true love and peace may be. I was seeking to leave everything I cherish behind – a home where parakeet friends and family live and laugh and a work where friends and strangers alike annoy and cajole.

I am full of high hopes and great expectations. Finding other like myself and living in family units to understand my life’s purpose has been pointless. I have my family here and now but something else is missing and that is the void in my life.

It’s not the having of the millions in assets, rearing of many children, nurturing of family members or showing off to friends and relatives. It’s not the temporary high of laughter from snorting milk through one’s nose or of glucose from eating carbohydrates like mounds of spaghetti drowned in marinara sauce. But it’s the responsibility of feeling fulfilled.

I needed to be fulfilled. My basic needs have been met only if I behave to the norms set by society, which is to do as I am told so that people like me won’t get hurt now or in the future. I know something beyond me is waiting and I keep asking myself, “What’s next?” The vision is currently blurry but may have already found my calling which is to blog for fun.

My small public that may reading this current blog know that there have been trials along the way for this past month. I’ve posted over forty blogs so far and have tried to imagine that all my readers have learned that my ranting and ravings are pretty much true to real life. I’ve made up some names to avoid hurting the ones I love but the essence of each blog is to shed some light to my public what could happen to anyone.

Many things could happen to anyone. And that’s why I choose to blog my memoirs in this manner before I go flying off somewhere.

Anyone has a story to tell and blogging everyday allows the writer to share the small world of a simple person. Story writing is creative. And once that creative aspect in a person’s being has been accessed, there is no stopping the ball from rolling. My mind would fly far off to discover all the beauty the universe could hold and then come back to report the many findings that have occurred in a par second.

Nothing could ever been hidden from the eyes of the public. Only a caged hamster has a way of hiding its droppings. Everyone in the future may be able to read each others mind and when that happens no one could ever hide from the truth. Although my blogs may be revealing at times, that is me and my experiences no matter how subjective.

If my readers have not yet been feeling the full effects of my beautiful stories by now, please continue to tune in to more of my funny blogging. I enjoy knowing there are still some fans of mine flying somewhere out there above this great big ball we call Earth.

  • 20060311-Chocolate Chips

Chocolate chips is best enjoyed in my desserts of vanilla or mocha ice cream drenched in hot fudge, of cookies melted and still hot from the oven and of granola bars all sticky and glued together with oats.

Chocolate chips are dark, sugary and crunchy and it’s softer to bite down on every scrumptious morsels compared to the snack foods like nuts, chips and dips. I prefer chocolate chips over chocolate bars because it’s smaller and as satisfying when it melts in my mouth.

These little delights have been my favorite comfort and serotonin producers all my life. They ease the times of being sad during romantic movies and miserable for not having company. And the reward is the small satisfaction of being filled from a sugar high. For I have also gained some fat cells singing praise of incoming tidings and some cavities hailing the widening holes in my teeth.

Chocolate chips may look like dark droppings made by hamsters but its true form is revealed in the bitter sweet taste. That is what happened to my family units last night. Their reconciliation efforts with each other paid off. After having lowered themselves to baser emotions for too long, that night brought them closer together and raised the spiritual vibration back to normal. Whether this is due in part to my disappearance from their lives last night is but a piece of the puzzle that I cannot explain.

My presence has been to listen and council the two opposing forces to the best of my abilities. These interventions also included my personal prayers to allow these forces to gain enough understanding of themselves and the clearing of the surrounding property with orgonite, ceremonial smudging and holy water, which I also sprinkled on Brat due to some gremlins making noises in the gutter outside his bedroom on 03-06-2006.

After only five days, the results were clear. The good intentions of everyone uplifted their sensibilities and got them back on track. And the train is going forward for them all. There is no going back to their old selves.

I know in my heart they have overcome this most recent and major obstacle at this point in time. Instead of ramming head onto the blockage that continued to harm them, both have merely found a way around. And that was how these two united.

Brat understood that Maws anger is for his own good. With that primary affirmation, Maw promised to never get angry at him again. Her renewed strength has been described as the burden that flew upward (with both arms flung out and hands flared opened) and away from her shoulders. Her voice, once stifled with little air due to asthma, is much clearer and calmer now. Everyone at the dinner last night changed.

I am truly thankful that somehow the bitter sweet relationship between Brat and Maw has always been the perfect lesson to me. I only wished that I could have been there to share the dark chocolate cake that came with the dinner last night. Unfortunately, the cake wasn’t made with my favorite chocolate chips.

  • 20060311-Spinning Gurus

Tonight I tried to create my own webpage. After only fifteen minutes, I gave up. I salute the graphic designers and other creative artists who are more computer savvy in this area.

My patience to create another extension of myself beyond this blogging has been dealt this small disappointment. The time to sit down and think about how to connect with the outside world is not worth the trouble and may have to invest in this area sometime in the future if business opportunities knock at my door.

When we had our first computer, it was an Apple IIE with the color printer. The flimsy floppy disks were black in color while this bulky drive made these chucking noises as it fed data into the computer. The monitor had these green characters that glowed too small to be read by a myopic person. The dot matrix printer was loud and slow as it scooted left and right line by line.

I remember having to type ASCE codes to get my homework done in bold, italic, underline or super- or sub-scripted. The work was tedious and got me nowhere during my high school days.

I remember enjoying a mystery game that could never be solved because it got stuck somewhere in the middle. All I typed were simple No or Yes answers. That was no fun.

Soon I bought my first `real` computer and used a telephone to place this order. Those order by phone days are now over. I didn`t know much about computers or the internet back then.

I moved files around on my computer to get it more organized and prettier because that`s how I liked it. I ended up having to reinstall the operating system because I corrupted the files.

I got online and didn`t have anti-virus soft wares and had to get that installed. I ended up having to reinstall the operating system again because my computer got infected.

Soon there were softwares that taught me about people, places and thing and that gave me headaches from playing 3-D games. Some were never used because they were part of the package that came with the computer. Those were a waste of money.

I needed to upgrade my computer because the operating system was fast becoming obsolete and the updates would no longer be supported. So I bought not only my second computer but a laptop both from the same company. I still have both computers and have the desire to purchase a more compact design with all the full features meant for gamers.

I wanted to upgrade my computer furniture but there is no space in this small bedroom. My computer desks are the white furniture with gold like trimmings from my childhood for the primary and currently this adjustable plastic table that was advertised on television for my laptop. My computer chair is this hard wooden back breaker that matches the white computer desk. Maybe I could upgrade my chair with one of those recliners that support the neck while typing.

My eyesight is not all that great and perhaps owning those larger flat screens would be another nice investment. My ultra white painted walls are bare; so I could try mounting a monitor to save space on that computer desk. It`s not really meant for computers but for writing. And who writes by hand nowadays?

Working with computers is essential and the old timers that don`t know how better learn now or be left behind. It`s a pity that some still don`t know how to program the VCR or work the simple remote controls for their televisions. Technology is more efficient but complicated for most. Some learn to stay ahead.

The engineers, programmers and designers really need make everything as simple as possible and less complicated and confusing by design. But the world is not simple and simply by making everything easier for everyone is not in this current reality, I`m afraid.

We should learn from the simple spider spinning its simple web. The web itself is many times the tensile strength of steel. Yet the spider, depending on what kind, could create delicate circular patterns that ride the winds in undulating waves or those random deliberate messes that disguises as trap doors below.

Like the spider that spins different types of webs for its own purpose, the web designer has the opportunity create the unique designs, however simple or complicated like our spider web example earlier, on the webpages to grab the attention of the readers.

This is where responsibility for the bio-units must control the activities of unwary children and the contents being viewed online. The internet is like a web enticing browsers to spend hours in front of the computer, the new black box. And no one could leave once addicted to the many webpages offered online for people to enjoy for the rest of their lives.

We the readers, the bloggers and other computer and internet gurus are the creative force that artfully entraps (or enlightens) only the few in this endless overload of information. So how do we get ourselves out from in front of the monitor and stop being stuck like a bunch of helpless flies on the web?

I would recommend taking a spinning class to burn off lots of calories and to reduce those unsightly bulges that ooze out from the thighs and buttocks for most and from the backs and arms for some. I rest my case. Now, if you`ll excuse me, I have more blogging to do.

  • 20060310-In Conceivables

A small hand held booklet had hurt in my hands and it was about abortion. The small Christian gift shop had many items to sell like rosary beads, statues of reverence and lots of media like cassettes, videos and books. I bought this little booklet and wanted to find out why people abort their unborn babies.

As much as I recall, it talks about spiritual beings wanting to serve on earth with a choice to live as humans and start out their lives with bio-units. There are those who remember their past lives while others live in blissful amnesia to start over and make their current lifetime better.

Some have been dismayed for not being able to fulfill their missions and may return in other forms in a later life as another bio-unit or relative. Abortion is considered a sin according to this Christian booklet and the cover showed an up close face of an angry person. Other organizations believe that abortion is justified if the mother’s health is in danger; the fetus has medical problems or has been conceived out of unwanted incidences.

Today, I live not to dwell on my near death experience at birth (due to medical problems) but to celebrate my conception as a sovereign being born as a loving human and a funny blogger with novice writing skills. Today is my bio-unit’s 38th wedding anniversary. So this means Happy Birthday to me. For Asian, we give ourselves an extra year so this would make me 39. I need another year to join the forty something crowd.

The blessed event occurred some thirty eight years ago when my parents made their vows to each other by getting married in St. Vincent de Paul Church on San Marcelino in the Philippines on March 10, 1968. There are some old newspaper clippings showing my parents smiling while each held in their hands two snow white doves. The newspaper clipping said that they would make their homes in Naples, Italy where Paw would have been stationed. Those times were truly innocent and happy moments.

Their intentions to marry each other and raise bio-units together were made with love. Paw worked very hard and saved enough money (without the help from his siblings) to get married because Maw came from dirt poor bio-units. It’s inconceivable to think that nothing could result without love in the first place. They were in love then and still love each other much like older couples do in their special ways now. I am impressed with couples that stick together through tough times and stay married together for this long like my bio-units.

Those who don’t stay long in any relationship are equally blessed for cherishing their new found freedom. They may not always come out of the old ones without some bitterness but once again there are always opportunities for the conception of love in many forms. From out of the old antiquated thinking of eternal marriage vows comes the birth of eternal spiritual families full of life and love, a new beginning.

  • 20060310-Enuf Said

Un oeuf is an egg. Enough is enough.
Eggs become chicken. We need to grow up.
We can stop these egg biters with our best.
We can defeat them with Love in our nest.

We will hold our hands of winged intent
and shower golden auras as our strength.
We will fly right into their cold hearts of stone.
The predators and parasites will groan.

We can say no more and can act some more.
NOW we can raise earth’s light through open door.
We can send harm back to the land beyond.
NOW we can lock them up where they were spawned.

We have heard your call and we have the shield.
NOW we go forth with Love for our fate is sealed.

  • 20060310-Winds Hush

The wind is blowing outside and I see snow on the hills of Mt. Hamilton, CA. I have taken a picture and will upload this one after having dinner tonite with my parental units, whose 38th wedding anniversary marks another year of my existence on this earth plane.

My blogs, like myself, exist to share what wisdom and knowledge I may have acquired along the way. There seems to be chasing of the wind in all this futile effort of blogging and I’m left wondering if hanging to every thought, word, action and deed would make sense to those who seek to define their realities through mine as I struggle to define my realities through my readers.

Sharing information is useful as a tool for coaching one’s path in life. These blogs have paved a way for me to show how limited the words I could use to describe exactly what could possibly happen in moment in time. Silence may be an option to exercise. (And I don’t mean selling my company stock options which is currently worth three times its value now).

The wind continues to blow outside and is heard through the rustling of leave on ground and in trees; through the howling of the vinyl windows and through my ear holes and it passes the locks of raven black hair past my shoulder blades. I put my hair up in a scrunchy hair band of dark blue to match it darkness as it cascades around and downward like waterfall mists spraying its tendrils into the moonlight of an island beyond.

Wind is really noiseless and doesn’t have voice. I try and listen to what the wind says, “Hush.” This is what I hear. There is nothing but my own heart beating and being in perfect tune to the love frequency of the universe. I look through me, with me and become only the truth in me. I meditate everyday of myself and these fall on deaf ears. Silence is golden.

  • 20060309-Not Annoying

Dark heavy rain clouds of gray and black colors started brewing over Mt. Hamilton when I left work tonight at 17:00PM Pacific Time. The rain has not yet fallen as I came home around 17:30PM Pacific Time.

I saw lots of white specks of flying objects against these huge purple masses of puff. These birds are too far away to been seen by me as I drove home in my Mustang. These are birds, perhaps seagulls, and they ride the cold air.

The definite smell of rain was in the air. And later about and hour or so, the rain fell. Here is my take on how anything unusual or out of the ordinary in my reality should not be so annoying. These events are real and are in no particular order. And action!

    Road Warriors-Take One:

Blue station wagon: The only unusual sight tonight was this broken down blue station wagon without at least one hubcap that didn’t belong to my neighborhood. The driver was fat and was driving very slowly past a cul-de-sac. I had to go around to its left to avoid hitting that car because I thought the car was not working properly. Then after two minutes from getting out of my car to stepping indoors to my home, he sped off fast in the opposite direction towards the railway intersection.

Light tan van: Last weekend, I saw a light tan colored van parked at that yellow fire hydrant and with a guy holding up his camera from the driver seat. He was about to take my picture from my second story bedroom window but I smiled to him, closed the blinds and mentally said, ‘No, Thank you.’ He sped off fast towards the railway intersection.

Small white car: This occurred on 11-24-2004 at 08:00AM. There was one small white car with a white man wearing sunglasses and sitting inside while reading a newspaper. Brat and I were about to leave for work in the morning. So I ran upstairs to grab my camera and noticed from my bedroom window upstairs that he tilted his head ever so slightly to his left in a kind of sideways fashion as if listening. I went outdoors to take a closer look but didn’t take a quick picture of his license plate holder with the word Oakland written on top. He sped off fast northbound after Brat opened up the automatic garage door.

Various: Dramas viewed from inside our house occur such as: lovers fighting and brawling loudly at the same intersection; domestic disputes across and next door to us; the big red fire engine sounding off a celebration of someone’s birthday (right after the September event years ago; parked cars with people inside looking at kids play (sickos) or watching other peoples’ houses (weirdos); big trailer rigs being moved every 48 hours along different parts of this stretch of road; numerous cars going in and out of this other cul-de-sac for over ten years now and accidents occurring as we look outside from our windows in amazement.

Noisy ones: Strange vehicles seem to want to make their mark in the world by making circles with their on my road during full moons. I saw one that drove a blue car and he looked Asian. Others are the artistic vehicles, such as cycles, riders and rockets, are museum quality and should be presented at those shiny car shows.

Sitting ducks: People inside their vehicles would park along my normal or other routes to work. They would pull out from their original position immediately leaving dust in their wake or slowly after my passing approximately one block away. They would follow not too far behind me, of course. I change lanes; they change lanes. They tailgate; I brake somewhat hard. It’s like a cat and mouse game. And I still wonder why they do that to me.

Other ducks: Workers on the road provide clear signals as I pass by their location. They’d flash their oranges services lights, blink their intention to move into faster moving traffic or eve put out their orange construction cones on the road. This would be fun to image that I’m popular without having to try. Maybe my Mustang is bugged over and needs a good car wash soon.

    Air Waves-Part Two:

Jet planes: Jet planes are flying over way in the distance somewhere is heard and has been going on for the past fifteen minutes now. The lions roar from these engines is very distinct. These military activities happen when there are dark rain clouds above. I do not know why they would practice at night. And I’m not aware of any air show. They stopped their fly-bys around 07:47PM Pacific Time.

Passenger planes: Passenger planes operate almost directly overhead everyday. The closed windows provide some relief against the noise. SJC currently has noise-based curfew hours from 23:00PM to 07:00PM Pacific Time (for FAR 36 Stage II aircraft). This noise reduction curfew is good for the sake of both sleeping residents indoors and denizens outdoors.

Light Planes: Light planes operate almost everyday. These would fly over rain clouds and the distinct smell of metal would linger in the air. The humming noise of light planes reminds me of the Malathion spraying done by these planes over our neighborhood and other places during that fruit fly epidemic back in the 1980’s. That’s when these mysterious flu-like symptoms started appearing.

Helicopters: Flying black helicopters appear occasionally. The rotary noise is distracting but the new models could switch to silent mode. Sometimes these copters would hover over our house or pause about a block away. Usually these would fly around the neighborhood with their search lights at night looking for whatever or whoever was below the area.

Helicopter lights: Sometimes helicopters would acknowledge my location by flashing their bright light in my direction (without blinding me, of course). But I don’t recall getting their attention by jumping up and down in foolish excitement outdoors or by waving to them from our windows.

    Passing By-Part Three:

Spare change: During our first few years here, we had a person come to our door asking for help and didn’t know what to do. I think he was lost too. It was daylight. My bio-units gave him some change and he was never seen again.

Two thugs: Brat and I were young and playing at night in the living room. Then all of the sudden we heard the doorknob rattle and some knocking. We stopped knowing Maw won’t be home until later past midnight. I looked out the window and to the right saw two white men in beards. I was scared and called Maw at work. Brat stuck his tongue out at them as I made the call. She called the neighbor and they came over. The two men were never seen again.

Smoking guy: Years ago-almost twice, I noticed this one guy walking towards the railway intersection. Each time he would light up his cigarette under this now blinking on and off streetlight next to the house across from us. The second time was at 03:00AM Pacific Time and this time there was a dog walking with him. I stopped to look down from the top of the stairways out the window and he looked up after successfully he lit that cigarette. The lights were off from inside the house because that is the only way I could see clearly outside into the darkness without the three light bulbs from the ceiling reflecting back from the upstairs window. There was no way he could have noticed as I stared from up there. He was never seen again.

Lost lady: A few years ago, there was this brunette-haired lady. It was daylight. My bio-units came home and had the garage door open. Maw came inside to the kitchen after talking to the lady and told me the lady was lost and the bus didn’t arrive. The nearest bus stop that I know at that time was a good fifteen minute walk. Maw said that the lady needed a taxi cab; so I call one and told the operator that this lady walked a quarter mile and ended up asking us for help. We waited for the cab. I “waved” my right hand at her and she seemed to have buckled forward as if she was about to fall. She got in the cab and was never seen again.

    Epilogue:

I feel like a mother hen roosting on her nest of eggs as she watches out for any possible sign of potential danger in and around her neighborhood. Being a neighbor is a responsibility and called the emergency a few times when I could have called the information line instead. I get annoyed at myself for not knowing how to better handle situations that don’t always happen. It’s not so annoying though knowing we as helpers are always watching each other and the neighborhoods we live.

Sleeping is naturally good for the body and mind; allows the subconscious mind to dream and feels refreshing after a hard day’s work. For some, insomnia is a problem and cannot be avoided. Plain laziness is sleeping too much and doing nothing afterward.

I’ve shut the door to people who knocked at my front door, peered with their hands held near their faces through the screen door and wanted to listen to my piano echoing into the air. Now I welcome anyone who happens to come by and visit.

I’ve shut out Brat, who knocked at my bedroom door, called out to me to play and wanted be a friend and confidant. Now I actively get up from my chair, step away from the computer and join his activities.

I’ve shut out my bio-units who knocked on my head, taught me well about life’s lessons and wanted to me to be a better person. Now I thrive on their wisdom and will pass mine on as well.

I was sleeping all my life and now realize that I shut out some goodness that could have inspired this writer to be more open and giving. These events will continue to be made available if I only open my eyes and listen.
