  • Crafted and updated new Site Profile

20250111-2127. I did NOT like FLYNNSPAWS as my domain name. Back in 2001, I registered a Yahoo! email “flynnspaws”. Fast forward, I still use “flynnspaws” in most of my social media presence.

Tonight, I wanna change my Site Title from “FLYNN’S PAWS” or “FLYNNSPAWS” to “Your Daily Pause”, similar to that YouTube user Your Daily Dose (of the Internet).

Originally, one of my old sites was “A Daily Pause in Life”. But I felt that sounded like some home and garden variety show, like Home Shopping Network and the like.

The words “Pause” and “Paws”, which are homophones or words that sound similar but are spelled differently, always stuck with me. But I could NEVER figure out how to best use these two words as my weblog profile.

Comparatively speaking, Flynn “pauses” briefly in life or take time out to blog; while Flynn’s doppelgänger, her Evil Kitty, “paws” annoying at the keyboard, hence rants is typed-out as blogs. Get it?

I give up. So here is the newest Site Title: “Your Daily “Pause”, followed by the newest Site Tagline: “Small Thoughts from Big Brains: Blogs and Rants by Flynn’s “Paws”. I put the parenthesis around the two homophones, if y’all catch my drift. Never mind.

That’s all. End status report 2218 PST.

  • Crafting new Site Title and Tagline

20250111-2200. I queried AI LEO to create some Site Taglines and Site Titles. The Taglines proved to be longer than the Site Titles, which is usually at least three words.

So far this is the Site Title: Your Daily “Pause” of a Blogger’s “Paws”. Originally, its was supposed to have been “A Daily Pause in Life”.

For my Site Tagline, I got “Small Thoughts from Big Brains: A Blogging Path of Rants by FLYNN”

Both are still too long. I need to do more brain-storming to shorten the length, because the Site Title doesn’t fit inside the top of the left sidebar of my website’s Dashboard.

That’s all. End of status report 2204 PST.

  • Tweaking theme Brute

20250111-1620. So last night and way into the whole of early morning, I kept tweaking theme Brute. Now I’m trying out the four different colors: black, charcoal, cement and marble. I tried marble and then cement. But when I tried black and charcoal, I had to edit the Duotone each time because one image wouldn’t self-adjust to these two different colors.

I added a Jump Link to my Footer because my Front page (homepage) is quite long and so by clicking the “link” labeled “To the top” just like theme Twenty Twenty by the WordPress team, scrolling all the way back up from the Footer way down below is easier by NOT as fast as pressing the “Home” button on any regular computer keyboard.

I think that’s all for now. End status report 1625 PST.

  • Trying theme Brute

20250111-0234. Voila! I think I like theme Brute by team Automattic! I liked the wide open spaces and the “homonymous” vibes of neutral colors, such as Black, Cement, Charcoal and Marble, which I tried but the brightness hurt my eyes. The Black and Charcoal colors rendered one of my front page/Homepage image invisible. So I’ve opted for cement which is the color of grays and NOT the aliens knowns as Greys.

I pretty much kept the entire Front Page layout the same and simply added my own text and images. This worked out wonderfully! And I might really keep this theme. But for how long, Flynn? That’s a good question! I do NOT know until I get bored again, basically!

I’ve been struggling with designing and as y’all can see, I really do NOT have any creativity! What I do have is some ability in that “plug-and-play” concept of just plugging in my own stuff and playing around with the elements! Voila! Again I say this is probably a keeper this time!

The header has four columns for my Site title, Tagline and my two navigations: follow me and following.

The footer has two columns, which worked our VERY well. I was able to “squeeze in” the Social Icons block and my credit in the right column. For the first time, I’ve placed my location on the left column.

The top middle group has lots of columns, groups and stacks.

The first group contains four columns. I was able to use my lighter/mirrored Site Icon image on the left column. Below that image I’ve entered only two words which basically describe this entire website: blogs and rants. On the right column, I pulled and placed the first sentence from this platform’s profile About me into the Header. Then I pulled and placed the Front Page Meta Description for my Website description of one-dozen “tags” from the Jetpack app for iPhone into the paragraph below the Header.

The second group contains two Headers for my two catch-phrases (matching in letters and syllables between the human expressions and the animal parts) and my three MAIN pages of former sites.

The third group contains the latest blogs or recent posts. The “sticky post” sports my darker/mirrored Site Icon image on the right column. Below that image is the post “excerpt” to READ MORE. On the left column, there are four recent posts. To the left of each recent post is yet another unused yet colorful Site Icon.

The next group contains two columns of random posts: one random post from my hand-crafted KJV Bible verses (all 31,103 pages) and one random post from my daily prompts from different sites.

The next group contains the health of my blog: Archives, Calendar, Categories, Tag Cloud and Blog Stats.

The purpose for choosing this latest theme was inspired by my most prolific commenter John Jr, whose weblog site (theme Twenty Twenty by the WordPress team) sported HUGE fonts and wide open spaces, too. I was also mindful of and tried to improve upon his criticism of my weblog.

That’s all. It’s getting late. But I’m still NOT sleepy but excited that finally I could STOP switching and editing my themes! End of status report 0324 PST.

  • Purchased Jetpack Boost

20250111-0119. Yeah, so last night, I saw the ad banner for the Jetpack Boost, which I’ve tried/used in the past. And so I knew that I could benefit from this product and purchased the two-year plan, which should cover beyond my Legacy “business” plan set to expire in one year. I may change my mind between the two different plans.

The main reason for yesterday’s purchased plan was to take advantage of the “Automatically Optimize CSS Loading” feature instead of manually “[generating my] Critical CSS whenever [I] make changes to the HTML or CSS structure of [my] site.”

The other feature was “Critical CSS advanced recommendations”, which identified an “HTTP error 404”! That post was already in the Trash and so I deleted that duplicated post, which was designated as “blog-2” with the usual “dash followed by the number 2” for automatic duplicates.

The useful feature was the Image Guide, in which the Image Size Analysis showed me images that needed my attention. For example, I used two small Site icon images for a larger display and those are “okay”, which is designated in a green colored “dot” over the affected images.

However, I had one image that had a red color dot! I kept trying to find a different image because the image really did display TOO large on both the mobile and desktop version. I found a smaller unused Site Icon (500×500 pixels) and that worked wonderfully! Now the image has a green colored dot!

So far my overall score is rated “A” despite the Mobile score of 86 lags slightly behind to my Desktop score of 96. I would take that as a compliment and assurance that my site is functioning properly for viewers’ experiences.

That’s all. End status report 0155 PST.

  • Testing myBlog Tag

20250110-1110. The reason for duplicating these tasks tags* with categories is to audit/clone/match/mirror the Count. And then I’ll delete the duplicates later on.

I found one tag had a higher Count than the categories and vice versa. I see some tag_id are lower in numerical value meaning those are probably from the legacy accounts before deleting OLD any accounts with its OLD ads, marketing and social connections.

This time a genetic generic* Happiness Engineer replicated my issues. But theirs is fine while I’ll find now if the missing tab is my problem.

End status report 1115 PST. Edited 20250110-2204 PST.

  • Crazy POS push up tree guy

20250110-0623. Yeah, so we have two city-approve trees (Saratoga Laurels) which the adjacent property owner is responsible for maintaining. This area is located north-west from our corner lot.

Almost every week a hooded dark-skinned guy would be walking his two noisy white small toy dogs which are harnessed – one bluish and one reddish/pinkish.

Recently since last year or probably for a long time, the crazy POS would be doing push-ups at the base of our two neighborhood trees! I caught him at least a couple to four times.

For some strange reason, I can’t seem to find the most recent photo of him doing push-ups through our camera. There was a dark jacked-up truck with a red reindeer nose on the front hood grill.

The driver saw my peering to my left too obviously. I do this to alert any passing motorist what I am witnessing. And sure enough the driver probably followed my gaze and my shifted bodily posture, even if I was NOT peering around the corner just yet.

The driver stopped in the middle of MY long stretch of road, inches forward a little bit and then headed southwest bound towards the railroad intersection. The driver’s window was rolled down and I couldn’t see the face or eyes because my vision is bad. I assumed that he saw me do the crazy rolling gesture is my right finger to my right forehead.

The driver probably thought the guy is dead or needed a medical emergency. But because, like I said, this state is full of retards, THEY are allowed to roam freely, pretending to be “normal” like the rest of “normal” functioning members of a “normal” society.

This experiment has failed. I need all these “abnormals” or these damned ALIENS destroyed – once and for all. No. Not rehabilitated. Destroyed. There is NO hope for these empty vessels or stupidity. And I mean it.

That’s all. End of ranting 0633 PST.

  • Crazy POS illegally dumping

20250110-0527. I submitted a report to our 311 dot sanjose dot com customer service portal about an illegal dumping incident that occurred freaking four hours ago before two o’clock in the morning! And I’m still awake trying to figure out WTF these demonic entities are manifesting so badly! On my other social media site, I posted two videos showing different camera angles of these crazy POSs as evidence/proof. But nobody cares.

The crazy POS lives opposite to us or diagonally from us – corner lot to corner lot – or across from us along MY long stretch of road! I don’t know who THEY are or what is THEIR country of origin. But in my books, THEY are my enemies just like the coo-coo NextDoor neighbor. So now I’m surround by two nutballs with probably at least four more in my books. Yeah, you! Y’all know who y’all are!

I did NOT just show up for no reason or make my presence known. I’m observing if MY recruits are doing THEIR jobs or NOT. Obviously, y’all are NOT doing enough. Weak!

The 5 business days deal is stupid because by tomorrow morning the garbage will have been picked-up! That’s the problem with society. Anything stupid and weird could happen to any unsuspecting victim!

That’s all. End of ranting 0539 PST.

  • Reverted back to theme Messenger

20250110-0120. That’s it! I can’t stand it! I didn’t like the different colors and preferred dark and black! So I went back to theme Messenger. I liked my Twatter X layout and I’m keeping it! It has four columns and it’s beautiful, in my opinion.

Anyways, I had more incoming thoughts on how to “fix” my blog. I discovered that the Page list block was TOO long on the mobile version and I thought that I could “collapse” the Page List block. Nope. I could only display the “children” pages, which were the 66 KJV Bible books.

After that discovery, I then had an inspiration to redo my KJBV page to include the Page List block AND display only the 66 “children” pages! That worked out better because I neither had the patience nor the time to create 66 links for a new navigation menu!

But before I updated my KJVB page, I had to remove the Page List block and then add back myPages Navigation block underneath my Site Logo block of the first or leftmost column of four columns. This decision worked out well and that one column appeared less intimidating! But now it looks too empty!

Then I replace the Query Loop block with my favorite Block Posts block and set that block to display only three recent blogs or latest posts.

Then I had to remove the Tag Cloud block to even out the fourth column to the rest of three columns. Voila!

I now have a short and stocky but wide and hefty weblog!

That’s all. End of excitement 0130 PST. Time for bed. Edited 0146 PST.

  • Trying theme Twenty Twenty-Five again

20250110-0019. Welp, I really liked the layout of my Twatter X from theme Messenger, which I am using with theme Twenty Twenty-Five again. But this time, I’m trying an apple-green colored Style. With theme Twenty Twenty-Five, I could always try eight other colors!

I won’t bother changing the Colors or Font sizes because it’s too much work. But I had to change the size from HUGE to SMALL for each of the five Topography Elements one-by-one: Text, Links, Headings, Captions and Buttons.

My prolific commenter shared how he uses themes no later than Twenty Twenty, which I tried and did NOT like; because I needed better controls with blocks instead of the OLD ways. I got VERY impatient “creating menus” from the Twenty Twenty theme and said: SCREW IT!

There’s no going/turning back. I’m too addicted to working with blocks.

That’s all. End status report 0028 PST.

  • Trying theme Messenger

20250109-1859. Lo and behold! For I hath made my own Twatter X site! Dark, black and all that and I can’t go back, too!

Anyways, I’m trying theme Messenger by team Automattic! Aha! As I haz suspected that perhaps most of these companies are using Matt’s stuff!

So that’s what I did: Reset the Blog Home template to Default. And then I proceeded to “back engineer” the blocks to clone/mirror the Twatter Hexed site!

Oh, I love it! But for how long will I keep this current theme? Time will tell, of course!

I made use of two plugins for my Blog Home page. And in order to use these plugins, I (already) signed up for Business plan, though I am NOT really doing ‘business’ per se of selling any products or services.

I just like to test and try-out these fancy DESIGNING features and report any bugs to the Engineers/Developers of team Jetpack and/or team WordPress.

So I guess that’s what I am good at: being a Karen. I wanna talk to/speak with the manager – right now, this instance, NOT a moment too soon!

Of course, my rule of thumb and per the wise words of my elderly father: COMPLEMENT in public. COMPLAIN in private.

But do I listen to anyone or my own gut feelings, hunches, instincts, intuition or any knowledge thus far?

No. It’s fun NOT to comply sometimes. But I digress.

So here is the run-down to my Blog Home page template design:

First Group includes the Header: Site Title, Two navigations using a drop-down plugin.

    Second Group includes Three Columns.

Left column: Site Logo, Page List.

    Middle column: Query Loop

Right column: Search, Two paragraphs using a random plugin and the Footer of one Paragraph.

That’s all. End status report 1915 PST.

  • Testing partial Tag search

20250109-1431. I’m testing to see if the Tag search feature would pull-up my Tag “myBlogs” or NOT!

    End 1432 PST.
