  • Come back, chickens!

A few minutes ago, I just checked the Support. And in honor of the upcoming Harvest season, this is the message I see:

“Support is closed while the company meets up and works together for the next week. We will be back on October 29th.

In the meantime, please use the search box below to find a solution to any problems. Alternatively, head to the WordPress.com Forums if you’re in a pickle, there are some great volunteers who will be able to sort you out, and we’ll also be checking in there regularly.”

Almost every WordPress.com user here has issues and the volunteeers over at the WordPress.com Forums have to keep bumping these newbies off.

I have issues already typed out and now the Contact support won’t get to it until another week! Here are two issues that I wanted to send today but couldn’t because they are “hiding” from the minions:

    • I need a refund for an extra year and I want that domain name deleted. Make it two domain names. I don’t have any use for those domain names. It is such a waste of money. And by the way, I want to make sure the “private domain registration” is still intact until after everything is expired. Actually, I don’t care.
    • I want my Blog Stats fixed/reset for another registered WordPress.com site. I thought the Blog Stats won’t be counted as long as the admin is logged into the account(s). WTF is going on? There has been activities done in Sept 2011 and Oct 2011!

  • 20111016-Tweaking Again

I’ve switched WordPress.com themes after discovering a “Page Style” in the Firefox internet browser. I could toggle selections between “Basic Page Style” to “No Style” to copy/paste data into a downloadable format (i.e. .doc, .txt, .pdf, etc). And this is for archiving purposes of which I have submitted a Support request.

Again, I want a free/paid theme with control over the hardcodes at least to have the date/time stamps for original post and updated version and the author, just like Almost Sprint, Dusk and Quintin. I really don’t care about the category and tags. Those can be “hidden” in the background, just like a theme option found in the iNove theme.

As for the Ratings Setup, I removed those from the Posts, Pages and Comments. There was really at least one blogger using this feature. He gave me “five stars” each time. And recently I’ve gotten two posts with “one star”. It doesn’t tell me much as to WHY such ratings are provided by readers.

As for the Share Settings, only three buttons  are shown only in “Front Page, Archive Pages, and Search Results“: Email, Print and Press This. I wanted the single post view to be free of clutter for archiving purposes.

As for blogging, I want to stop blogging via WordPress for Android. Its features are limited. And I want to discontinue my cellphone service because it is a waste of money. If there is an emergency, that’s okay. No one cares to call and I don’t care to call. So it works both ways.

  • WordPress Value Bundle

Besides the unusal bold fonts via the “content” section of my Visual ad, I see the following message under the “paid-upgrades.php” page of Store:

    “Save $99 USD per year.

    Buy Now

Save up to 40% on our most popular upgrades with this great new bundle.

Get all of these great features to super-charge your blog in one simple purchase.

    • Domain Name & Mapping
    • 5GB Space Upgrade
    • No Ads
    • Custom Design
    • Video Press”

I currently don’t like using this domain name and want my own personalized domain name from another registered WordPress.com account, which is currently set to Private. I am tempted once again to purchase something on impulse without first considering my dire straits financially. But the Contact support is not available:

Support is closed over the weekend whilst we work on improving our level of service. We’ll update with more information on Monday, October 17th.

In the meantime, please use the search box below to find a solution to any problems. Alternatively, head to the WordPress.com Forums if you’re in a pickle, there are some great volunteers who will be able to sort you out, and we’ll also be checking in there regularly.

  • 20111016-Daily Stuff

At 12:37am, I’ve finished 41 more Plinky.com prompts rather quickly. Earlier this evening for about two hours or so, I’ve shared 345 old prompts in my other registered WordPress.com weblog.

Earlier this morning and prior to attending this evening’s mass, I’ve archived old posts. I learned that fifty items per bulk action is a good number to work with when pressed for time.

I figured that blogging too much is not good. It just makes archiving that much harder. So I’ll try to create one BIG post per day. But I don’t think that will work well because a generic post title doesn’t tell the readers much.

The usual three course meals were eaten and hair cuts were done (Maw to Paw, Moi to Maw and Maw to Moi). Parakeets were overfed and sluggish, too. Maw completed her “embroidered” stiches using her Brother’s sewing machinge. Now my two long-sleeve sweat shirt has pretty designs.

The day was filled with wispy clouds, popcorn clouds (like yesterday) and HAARP clouds, too. The sunshine was its usual bright and white self but the winds blew cool with this evenings air being that much colder.

  • Inactive sidebar…

So I’m cleaning up my other registered WordPress.com blog and met the following message:

    Inactive Sidebar (from previous theme)

This is a left over sidebar from an old theme and does not show anywhere on your site

It was a an old RSS Links widget with Large, Orange Texts & Image Links for both Posts & Comments. And after I deleted that widget and refreshed that webpage, this middle section disappeared altogether!

  • Dashboard burping…

What’s going on with my WordPress.com dashboard! It looks funny! For the past few minutes, it jumped around and items were complete expanded horizontally and vertically, too. Can you please design the Dashboard so that it user friendly for SLOWER internet connections AND personal computers?

  • 20111004-Trying Theme

I was switching themes again and got the following message:

“You are not authorized to use that theme.”

That wasn’t the only time I got that message. It must be a sign or something telling me to stop trying different WordPress.com themes. Hmmm.

  • No side/bottom bar…

Last night, I had to switch back to the Twenty-Eleven theme. Don’t ask me why I am not satisfied. I would like a hybridization of all the free themes here at WordPress.com (as suggested by John Jr in one of his comments here).

I like a clean and simple appearance for my weblog. As a result, there are no widgets to be seen in either the sidebar or bottom bar! And there are only three menus: Posts, Pages and Archives. Therefore, there are only “internal” pages, which include the blog/post entries.

I’m testing out this “feeling” without the bottom/sidebar and so far it’s one day of idle satisfaction. But for how long will this temporary satisfied feelling last? I’ll give it another day or so. If only there are MORE shortcodes for all the other widgets, then I’ll be good.

  • Blogger.com

Notice: This page contains post entries compiled from my blogs or online journals originally under both Yahoo! 360° and Blogger. I found that blogging EVERYDAY is tedious work! As a result, I have stopped entering blogs from the Blogger.com account (to comment on my poems from the first Yahoo! 360 account) and more poems from the second 360.yahoo.com account (to keep my journals updated). Later on and after I’ve discovered WordPress.com, I decided to combine all my weblog entries into an organized fashion. And there is no stopping me now!
