  • The future of DailyPost in 2012: details coming soon

To team Automattic: Can you combine questions from Plinky.com with DailyPosts.wordpress.com and merge both sites into one snowball? Okay! Thanks!

I’m having difficulty accessing the Plinky.com website and “sharing” the Plinky.com with my other wordpress.com weblog via my cellphone. Refreshin the web pages of Plinky.com would give me the following message via my Android smartphone:

    Web page not available

The Web page at http://www.plinky.com/ ight be temporarily down or it may have moved permanently to a new web address.

    Here are some suggestions:

    • Check to make sure your device has a signal and data connection.
    • Reload this web page later.
    • View a chached copy of the web page from Google.

All I want is to do is to log my random thoughts of “mostly rants and other stuff” and realize that a minimal approach is better than smaller posts, which could easily be achieved via Twitter, which I don’t use other than give link backs to my primary weblog.

    Q.6

If you have a system for blogging that wasn’t captured well by the above questions, please describe how you set, review, and try to achieve your goals for blogging. – I’ve set myself to blog everyday. I don’t have time to review my blog or read other blogs. I try to achieve my goals for blogging by entering notes on the “Memo” app of my cellphone. Thank you.

  • Navigating your blog

Wow! Last night, I was thinking about updating my customized Menus modeled after a Premium Theme: Shelf to show: Aside, Gallery, Image and Quote. But this theme and like most WordPress.com themes (including WordPress.org) do NOT seem to include my favorite time stamp in a readable text version. Their version is a hover/mouse over “title” attribute to the date/time stamps.

So last night, I’ve set my primary weblog to “Privacy” many times. I was “retagging” old posts as “Asides” for entries done via my cellphones. I could tell because the “Excerpt” view during the “BULK EDIT” does NOT have prompts for “Continue reading—>” and the “word count” is around 140 characters with spaces.

Further, I made use of the new “Post format” via “BULK EDIT” and (again) “retagged” old blogs to reflect “Gallery” for more than one “Images”. I did general searches of my post with “wpid” attachments, including files for “.jpg”, “.png“, “.jpeg“, “.pdf”, and “.gif“.

“Audio” files of just “.wav” and “.mp3” were also “retagged”. As for the “Video”, that didn’t work.

  • 20111110-Trying Themes

This time I trying a new WordPress.com theme:

    Bouquet by Automattic

Bouquet is an elegant, simple theme inspired by the beauty found in flowers. Notable features include two floral schemes, a responsive layout structure that adapts to smaller devices, a right sidebar, a full-width template, support for post formats, custom background, and custom header. Read more about Bouquet →

Tags: blog, craft, journal, nature, outdoors, photoblogging, photography, clean, curved, earthy, flowery, natural, outdoorsy, simple, sophisticated, blue, pink, white, light, one-column, two-columns, right-sidebar, responsive-width, custom-background, custom-header, custom-menu, full-width-template, post-formats, rtl-language-support, translation-ready

There are two theme options of flowery header images: Pink Dogwood a default in pink and Forget-Me-Not in blue. There is only one sidebar widget, which I won’t use for now because my “Hello Word” page, which is a “Sticky Post” will serve as the “Table of Contents” or a “Sitemap” and provides the “Archives” and “Subscription” links, too. Only five of the most recent posts are displayed. The width of the contents auto-fits for smaller screen resolutions, which reveals a time-stamp from the hover over the date.

  • 20111031-Tweaking Again

I’m addicted to blogging! I now have FOUR (4) registered WordPress.com weblog sites! I realize most of my material are RANTS, which is 89% (or a total of 9134 before exporting/importing the other 11% to the other two new sites)!

So I’ll have to review my mind-set and figure out the direction of my path, love and/or life. So far, I see another four more years of “hidden help”. Hehehe!

One blog is for “My Daily Posts” from Plinky.com and dailyposts.wordpress.com.

One blog is for my “dreams, poems, prayers and more”.

The other blog is dead and has to do with “gifting and healing the environment”.

This primary blog, once again, is mixed up — politics, relationships, religion, conspiracy and paranormal! I’m having a difficult time trying to categorized each blog entry. I realize that the overlapping of thoughts, topics, and issues is not good for blogging.

Oh! And I was trying to tweak my blog via the Full Site and I noticed that the right Scrollbar to the Categories section via the “post.php” edit page doesn’t work!!! So I had to sneak back upstairs and leave Maw for a bit with the trick or treaters. But I can hear if there are people/noises, thanks to my EXPENSIVE 32-channel hearing aide!

After spending time deleting Categories and Tags from my other WordPress.com weblog site for Plinky Prompts and Daily Posts and after eating breakfast, I decided to give the parakeets a bath. Maw was eating her cereal and later joined all of us in the backyard. Paw was eating his breakfast indoors. The two boy parakeets took a liking to the birdbath. The two girl parakeets kept fighting with each other. After washing the bird and drying the bird cage, I noticed the dead mouse head and grub and took a picture to share on my blog.

THEN, after Maw’s suggestion, Paw decided unwillingly to join us in dismantling one of the two open “shed” for Maw’s containers of orchid plants, which have not been giving us flowers. Maw and I worked on the removing the nails and staples from the make-shift, black mesh coverings. Since Maw is totally disabled and out of breath, I ended up removing most of the rusted nails from the HARD oak wood and the green, wavy plastic “roof” pieces. This went on until a late lunch at around 2:30pm. At 3:00pm, Maw helped to chisel th HARD oak wood so as to free the stuck nails. Earlier she was helping to re-wrap the old wires from the old orchid shed.

THEN, Maw had to rest and cook us dinner, including a late suggestion/request for hot soup, which Paw likes after a hard day’s work under a VERY mild weather with crispy clear blue skies of little to gentle winds. It was HOT under the mid-afternoon sun while I tried to remove the rest of the nail and I had to drink my energy drink of potassium and salt to keep from spasming, which did happen on the inside, right section of the rib cage where the sternum ends below.

THEN, I caught Paw struggling with the arrangement of another open shed. I quickly removed/dumped on the cement/slabs below the plastic containers (still in good condition) for Maw’s plants and some left-over wood. He spaced out, walked away and then returned to help me drag the slightly heave make-shift, wooden shed to its new location away from the side fence and to the original location of the old orchid shed. Now he has a nice pathway for walking. The shed is well organized with the LONG pieces of two by four woods on the bottom “shelf” and the plastic plant containers on the top “shelf”.

At 5:30pm, I’ve finished, dumped my clothes to be washed downstairs and hurried upstairs to take my shower. And now I’m done with this blog entry just a little bit after 6:00pm. My back hurted during the ordeal but no real pain could be felt just yet but I suspect later on the endorphine/pain killer will have worn off. So I’ll take something to keep from aching tonight.

Our tools were: one crowbar to yank the old wooden pieces apart, one steel-head hammer to pound back the nails, Paw’s idea of using one small piece of wood to help provide the torque and needed force to remove nail, one dull pruning sheers to cut the old wavy roof, two chisels to split the OAK wood and release the stuck nails, one “fish” knife to free old staples from the bamboo of the mesh covers and one long nose pilers to yank stubborn staples and cut twisted wir twines. The end.

  • 20111030-Tweaking Again

I just set the Site Visiblity to my other WordPress.com weblog site to from “I would like my site to be private, visible only to users I choose” to “Allow search engines to index this site.”

So that means Google and pals would know my identity (partially) because that site is still anonymous, except for the few who commented long ago.

You may do your own research to figure out where my old Plinky Prompts and Daily Posts are now located. Good luck!

Going forward, I will no longer be sharing Plinky answers and postaday2011 here. Hopefully, the import of all posts and its comments are still intact in the new blog site.

Oh! And my thanks goes out to John Jr (again). I borrowed/stole his slideshow idea on his “About Me” page and therefore uploaded three illustrations of moi: Donut Chic, Mad Man and Smirk Gal.

  • 20111026-Tweaking Again

I’ve tweaked and I’ve tweaked and I’ve tweaked so more pages from my “Living with Orgone” site. There are 14 published pages and two private posts. There are no sidebars on this site.

There is definitely something wrong with the Blog Stats: It keeps recording my OWN activities! And there was delay to show 119 views in one day! That was from editing my pages several times! I give up! Something is not right with WordPress.com.

The “Links” page of that orgone site has five of the six links, which can be found in the sidebar widget as “blogroll”, instead of my other Categories, such as “pals” or “links”. It doesn’t make sense to make a long list.

As for my main blog site, the sidebar element almost lines up with the content element (or front/home page). Again, I must strive for keeping my site and entries, short and simple, spic and span, clean and cleaner. Whatever.

  • Publishing site again…

Well, I will re-publish my other registered WordPress.com weblog site at midnight because the Blog Stats is ruined!

For whatever reason, each time I clicked on my OWN pages while signed on my account as administrator, the page view is counted and that’s not right! I wonder if the Support will fix this bug!

My OWN activities appear “live” since last month even though that site has remained on “PRIVATE” mode. I feel blogging has lost meaning because of all these hard coding changes.

The contents will be the old stuff of mostly pages instead of daily post entries, which can be found here in my primary weblog site.

Okay. I changed my mind about the Privacy Settings. I will go ahead and change the Site Visibility from ” I would like my site to be private, visible only to users I choose” to “Allow search engines to index this site.”

    It’s Living with Orgone.

  • After the Deadline message…

A few minutes ago, I was trying to update a “Private” page on my other registered WordPress.com weblog. And I saw the following message pop-up:

“There was a problem communicating with the After the Deadline service. Try again in one minute.”

A black exclamation mark is within a white background and enclosed by a triangle with red perimeter.

  • Fix Site Stats…

Since the WordPress.com Support cannot be contacted until October 29: Can you please fix my site stats?

    • My other registered WordPress.com weblog (Private) has activities done on September and October 2011 while I’m still logged as admin.
    • Why are there 204 View from Today’s “Referrers”: WordPress.com?
    • Will NON-permalinks EVER be captured as part of the Site Stats?
    • Can you capture Site Stats to differentiate/include visits done via WordPress apps, such as Android, etc?
