  • Home improvements…

I really want to improve the yard and repair the house.

    Here are some photos:

~Replace rood due to water stain in my bedroom.
~Removal of acoustic ceiling for health purposes.
~Removal of crack slabs due to weight of patio.
~Removal of patio due to incorrectly placed beams.
~Removal/improvement of cement work on street side of house.
~Replacement of standard and slippery tubs for easier access by senior citizens.

  • Should everything be done in moderation?

Try blogging the whole day while living with your family, friends and/or pets. That would be suspect and down right anti-social! Therefore, a fine balance between blogging and other activities is better for the body (i.e. back and buttock) and soul (i.e. creativity and well-being). Only the INSANELY addicted (drinking, gambling/investing, smoking and blogging/gaming) would get VIOLENT and NOT try doing something different, such as doing NOTHING.

  • No side/bottom bar…

Last night, I had to switch back to the Twenty-Eleven theme. Don’t ask me why I am not satisfied. I would like a hybridization of all the free themes here at WordPress.com (as suggested by John Jr in one of his comments here).

I like a clean and simple appearance for my weblog. As a result, there are no widgets to be seen in either the sidebar or bottom bar! And there are only three menus: Posts, Pages and Archives. Therefore, there are only “internal” pages, which include the blog/post entries.

I’m testing out this “feeling” without the bottom/sidebar and so far it’s one day of idle satisfaction. But for how long will this temporary satisfied feelling last? I’ll give it another day or so. If only there are MORE shortcodes for all the other widgets, then I’ll be good.

  • What I know now…

that I’m wasting my time blogging and reading other blogs.

#1. WHAT I THOUGHT ABOUT THE BLOG’S NAME: Flynn’s Blog evolved to “My Blogging Path”. I like using my pen name. My real nick name is Flynn.

#2. WHAT I THOUGHT ABOUT AUDIENCE: The audience is supposed to be PG13. Those that know my real name would NEVER meet me in person.

#3. WHAT I THOUGHT ABOUT TIME MANAGEMENT: I blog everyday because I’m un/deremployed and have no other outlet to avoid going insane.

#4. WHAT I THOUGHT ABOUT RESPONDING TO COMMENTS: I’ve responded to some comments and failed to response to a “feedback” regarding the customized image headers. I really don’t like using emails or my real name or responding to comments, which reveal my email address.

#5. WHAT KIND OF BLOGGER I THOUGHT I’D BE: I’m a mean and nasty person in real life. Why? Ask TPTB and pals. They too created a monster. And this blog reflects my sentiments and the mess they created on this hellish planet. I’m not going to rest in peace until they MAN UP!

  • Are you participating in NaNoWriMo 2011?

No. I have no more energy in blogging. I need a job, not a blog. I need money, not a prize. I need to move on with my life, not hide behind an anoymous account. Convince me that blogging is worth the effort. Tell me what it is like to write more than necessary. Prove to me that my precious thoughts won’t be “lost, stolen or forgotten” and that it will be part of a “time capsule.” Good luck.

  • 20111002-More Spooks

One thing I learned about blogging, people like censorship and positive affirmations, such as awards from each other. That’s what I don’t like about blogging and social network. Honest criticism won’t be taken lightly, even aruged and later ignored by the offense. I’m not playing this game of “smiley faces”. I’m sick of people denying my reality. But everyone continues living like frogs being boiled slowly to death. Perhaps, you’d be FED up too if you knew your places.

  • Excellent Tools

The Import and Export features of the WordPress.com `Tools` section of the `Dashboard` worked well. The contents from `flynnsblogs` went to my second WordPress.com, which is currently set to private because it was a test site and well a duplicate of my precious puppies, which are primarily located here.

Click here to learn more about how to copy/export the contents from one WordPress.com and to paste/import into another WordPress.com.

  • Copying Contents

To paste/import the contents from one WordPress.com weblog to a second WordPress.com weblog, you’d first have to copy/export from the first weblog:

Go to your first weblog >> Dashboard >> Tools >> Export

    • Select – WordPress

Import posts, pages, comments, custom fields, categories, and tags from a WordPress export file.

    The next page will show:

When you click the button below WordPress will create an XML file for you to save to your computer.

This format, which we call WordPress eXtended RSS or WXR, will contain your posts, pages, comments, custom fields, categories, and tags.

Once you’ve saved the download file, you can use the Import function on another WordPress site to import this site.

    • Start Date
    • End Date
    • Authors
    • Categories
    • Post Tags
    • Content Types
    • Statuses

    [Download Export File]

Go to your second weblog >> Dashboard >> Tools >> Import:

Howdy! Upload your WordPress eXtended RSS (WXR) file and we’ll import the posts, pages, comments, custom fields, categories, and tags into this site.

Choose a WordPress WXR file to upload, then click Upload file and import.

Choose a file from your computer: (Maximum size: 15MB)

    [Browse]

    [Upload file and import]

    The next page will show:

    Assign Authors

To make it easier for you to edit and save the imported posts and drafts, you may want to change the name of the author of the posts. For example, you may want to import all the entries as admins entries.

    1. Import author: [user name here][Map to existing]

    Import Attachments

[ ] Download and import file attachments

    [Submit Query]

    The next page will show:

    Processing…

We’re processing your import now and will send you an email when it’s all done. If you don’t hear from us within 24 hours, please contact support, and we’ll get everything fixed.

I tried a few hours ago but my first weblog file shows over 15MB! So I bet that the original contents will not copy/import over completely!

Addendum: ALL contents imported 100% within the same day!

  • Cool Tools

After posting an entry via the WordPress.com forum `http://en.forums.wordpress.com/`, I’ve lurked around my weblogs again and wanted to convert my tags (found under categories) back to categories.

Because I’m dumb and blind, I never noticed this feature. It appears as the second header called:

    Categories and Tags Converter

[Use this] to convert categories to tags or tags to categories.

Gratefully, this converter tool worked! I’m happy again.

Then I noticed the fourth and last tool called:

    Webmaster Tools Verification (?)

Enter your meta key “content” value to verify your blog with Google Webmaster Tools, Yahoo! Site Explorer, and Bing Webmaster Center

I followed the WordPress.com instructions for this `tool` VERY slowly and CAREFULLY.

I verified `Flynn’s Blogs` successfully but not the other two WordPress.com weblogs, which probably have too little traffic for tracking statistics. As result, I’m able to see how blog traffic looks like for my main WordPress.com weblog. There are four areas for viewing blog traffic:

    • Search queries;
    • Crawl errors;
    • Links to your site; and
    • Keywords.

Finally, I found that over three hundred links from other domains were from: http://digitalangeldonnadj.com/blog/ ! How cool is that? God bless you, Mews! Brouhaha.

But there is only one subscriber to my feed! That’s sucks! Waahh!

Anyway, I’ve yet to try the other two tools:

    Press This

Press This is a bookmarklet: a little app that runs in your browser and lets you grab bits of the web.

Use Press This to clip text, images and videos from any web page. Then edit and add more straight from Press This before you save or publish it in a post on your site.

Drag-and-drop the following link to your bookmarks bar or right click it and add it to your favorites for a posting shortcut.

    [Press This]

    — and —

    Post by Email

You can publish posts using emails with the Post by Email feature. To enable this visit your [My Blogs] page and create a secret address.

I already signed up to post by email but don’t have one of those fancy cellphones to make it work. It’s a weird link but easy to memorize.
