  • Too busy to care I told y’all

20221118-1535. I wanted to complain about the Jetpack Social NOT connecting to my one and only social media account at Twatter.

This is the response I got from THEM: “Sorry, we missed you! All our Happiness Engineers are currently busy. Please check back later.”

Should paying customers be treated this way. Lemme know if it’s fair!

    I protest! Foul play!

    That’s all. FlynnsPaws.

    Post Visibility – Support – WordPress | https://en.support.wordpress.com/post-visibility/

Once again, I’m tweaking and switching my weblog. One thing I noticed is that the Sticky Posts gets in the way of the most recent blog post entries, which are in reverse chronological order.

If it weren’t for the comment as found on http://atomic-temporary-205524931.wpcomstaging.com/2016/02/05/20160205-1937-aside/#comment-11199, I wouldn’t play around with the sticky post feature.

So per the Support documentations, I found my suggestions! Below are the key items that describes how to handle these ‘sticky posts’:

Generally, the Sticky option is only used for one or two posts on a blog. It should not be used for every post. Be sure to uncheck the Sticky option on that post to move it back to its place in chronological order.

With that said, I’ve removed the extra ‘sticky posts’ and retained only one, which is supposed to be my very first post entry dated 02/14/2006. This post acts as a welcome page and a table of contents. Without a sticky post, my blog seemed ’empty’. I noticed this one sticky post, which has a featured image enabled, makes my most recent posts appealing in some way, at least to me.

So for the past month or so, I’ve been receiving this courtesy reminder on my Dashboard:

Your subscription to Site Redirect has expired or is about to expire.

Weblog by Flynn ‘Site Redirect’ expired on February 10, 2016 Renew now

    Hide for 7 days

And so I’ve been clicking on the ‘Renew now’ link and keep receiving the following message:

User [User ID here] Cannot Access the Dashboard Requested

You are logged in as “[User ID here]” and do not have the necessary privileges to access the dashboard for “Weblog by Flynn“. If you are not “[User ID here]” “, please log out, and log back in with your username. If you are “[User ID here]” and you need access, please ask an administrator of the site to invite you.

If you reached this screen by accident and meant to visit one your own sites, here are some shortcuts to help you find your way.

Originally, I changed the blog site name from ‘flynnsblogs’ to ‘thebloggingpath’ and purchased the ‘Site Redirect’ for $13 per year because I didn’t want to loose my followers. Then I wondered why this product didn’t work. And one time, I contacted a WordPress support, who made this feature work until I got tired of the new blog site name.

So I’m wondering when this ongoing pop-up message will disappear. I wonder what other ‘notice-warning’ is given to other users. I’d like to see those samples listed in the WordPress support documentation. Hmm.

    Portfolios – Support – WordPress

Well, I was hoping to create portfolios as a storage! I already have two paid online storages that I could modify via my smartphone. But since this is a blog, I should keep the posts and pages separate from portfolios.

2244. My thought was compiling some drawings from my family. It’s only a handful. 2245. My other thought was dumping Dad’s diary of 53 years and one month. 2246. My next thought is like a wall of old photos. But those are in the thousands.

I’ve yet to scan the film negatives and probably won’t ever finalize that project. The ‘green room’, my younger brother’s former bedroom, and now my computer room is still cluttered with items pending for scanning, archiving, and discarding.

2250. I’m still glancing at the WordPress support pages for ideas. I’m coming up blank. I was thinking of drawing my dreams or emphasize my thoughts with drawings. Hmm. I wonder what medium/media I could use to express my creativity. I was thinking of an electronic pad stylus versus paper and pen. Hmm.

While tweaking my ‘widgets’ a few minutes ago (from Inactive Widgets | Drag widgets here to remove them from the sidebar but keep their settings to the ‘Opti’ thenme’s five widgets of Sidebar, Left Footer, Left Middle Footer, Right Middle Footer, and Right Footer) , I discovered this new widget called ‘EU Cookie Law Banner’. I don’t know what’s it for but it’s part of my widget.

This new ‘EU Cookie Law Banner’ widget has six (6) sections (in bold text):

    Hide the banner:

    • after the user clicks the dismiss button
    • after the user scrolls the page
    • after this amount of time: […] seconds

    Banner Text

    • Default (which is really the sample text as shown in the ‘Custom’ field below.)
    • Custom: Privacy & Cookies: This site uses cookies from WordPress.com and selected partners.

    Color Scheme

    • Light
    • Dark

    Policy URL

    Policy Link Text

    • [Our Cookie Policy] (which can be overridden and customized)

    Button Text

    • [Close and accept] (which can be overridden and customized}

    http://en.support.wordpress.com/live-chat/

Well, I finished a “Now Chatting” session with a Rachel M at around 0037 my time. This is the first time I tried this new feature. I typed more and faster than necessary but she kept up with my blathering quite well.

    Anyway, I’m seeing a the same little pop-up menu located on the lower-right hand corner of my screen call: “Contact us!” It shows the last three lines of our chatting session and the following message inside a gray box/white font;

“This chat has ended, start typing below if you need anything else!”

Within a few seconds of logging out of the chatting session, I received a transcript via email! That’s useful! Unfortunately, the “Live Chat Support” doesn’t provide support for the “WordPress for Android” app, which is my primary method of blogging. Darn!

Three things to keep in mind: Be nice. Be clear. KISS. Happiness Engineers need your help, too!

So for the first time, I tested the “Writing Helper” feature and saw that “it” was editing a previous post! I panicked and later learned that she just clicked on my long-winded rant about relationships. It didn’t edit anything, thank goodness.

I offered a few suggestions and was happy to provide feedback. Perhaps, if I know my way around WordPress.com 100% of the tinme, I could be some sort of Quality Assurance Creature (or QAC, for short), paid of course. But I’m not that good, even in the forums. Oh, well.

For now, I’m just a free-blogger ranting about empty issues about politics, religion, relationships and controversial issues about the paranormal and conspiracies, too.

Okay, let me try this “Request Feedback” feature for the first time with this blog post entry. It says “Get feedback on this draft before publishing”. I’m hesitant to take “feedback”, which is really a watered-down version of “CRITICISM.” Gasp! there’s Here goes!

    http://en.support.wordpress.com/writing-helper/copy-a-post/

Howdy! I’m trying this old feature called “Writing Helper!”

My goal is to see if the “Aside” post format feature will “carry-over” from an old/sample blog to this new/current blog.

I found out the support document via a WordPress.com engineering chatter called Rachel M.

So here goes with the post! Let’s see what happens.
