  • 20090819-Small Wounds

It was a good thing I stayed up late last night until 01:30am to clean up my computer room area for today’s installation of wireless modem for faster internet connection AND lower monthly bill for Paw. I didn’t have time to shred more address labels from catalog mailing services.

It appears that whenever I get excited, don’t focus or pay enough attention to the task at hand or if I work myself on full throttle, my nervous energy is expended and something that is manifested, not by smelly sweat of fish oil alone, but by dents and dings: two cardboard cuts to my left hand (i.e. index and pinkie fingers), ragged cuticles (mostly on my right ring finger), dry hands which moisturizers never, well, seem to moisturize, and feet problems from my tingling left toes to bunions, corns, and, yes, gout.

But other wounds are not entirely physical and those don’t seem to heal easily, even with Neosporin or triple antibiotic. These wounds are emotional and mental wounds – the stupid things in life that seem to annoy the most hardened and stubborn person, who still is clueless to realize that some people are designed to be IDIOTS and forever unchanging. Not even a whack on the head would have changed old programmings to awaken to the truth that being bull-headed is not very productive and quite uncooperative when things around the house needs to get done and where support by other bio-units is essential to survival.

But I digress. I’ve yet to tape over my paper-like cut. Earlier this afternoon and while waiting for Maw’s doctor’s appointment, I applied anti-bacterial gel, which stung like heck! So I went to the bathroom to wash it off and that did the trick for temporary relief. Next time I’ll treat my wounds before going off and possibly making the wound worse off than without some tender loving care. People should do the same for each other, too.

  • 20090816-Angel Harvesting

In order to have picked the fruits from the topmost branch of the pear tree, I had to use a stepping stool from the kitchen. I was short in stature of course and had reach higher by standing on my toes.

So to speed up the harvesting, I deftly plucked the pears with my left arm and gingerly dropped the fruits to the Paw’s green grass below.

The motion of harvesting was steady, almost mechanical going from high noon to a six o’clock direction.

But to Maw as she sat exhausted in the maroon-painted, redwood chair under the patio, she said out loud and within my hearing range:

You are an angel plucking fruits from the tree.

    Indeed.

Wonder what’s the feeling of missing spouse so much? How can spouse sleep at nite worrying about starvation & homelessness of loved one and safety of family?

  • 20090815-Death Handlers

Euthanasia for the terminally ill is already part of dealing with `end-of-life planning`. None would want to be the main decision maker for someone’s speedy death. That is where the `end-of-life planning` comes in: To help the unprepared families make decisions on and for behalf of the brain dead, vegetative, or terminally ill person; so as to be able to meet the Creator. Usually the primary care physician (at the request of the loved ones) steps in to make the patients as COMFORTABLE as possible.

For example, the husband of my paternal auntie had a hard time breathing and was already unconscious. For two friggin long hours the fat bastard lied on the hopsital bed while other people waiting inside the room, STINKING UP the place with food and bad breath! I did NOT enter that room packed full of onlookers. It’s a disturbing sight of UNDIGNIFIED bunch of Filipinos!

Instead of prolonging his suffering, the other aunties suggested higher dosage of morphin is to be given. He turned purple, black and ashen gray in color. His mouth was slack open and people didn’t seem to cry because of his mistreatment to my auntie. I didn’t bother looking and was rather impatient at being present, surrounded with too many people.

According to the Filipinos, the person cannot die even while unconscious due to waiting to hear someone’s voice or if there is still some unresolved life mission that has yet to be finished but could not have been fulfilled due to an untimely death. I recall my paternal grandfather holding on to this last breath until his last son Gigolo came in a few minutes later after the old man passed on.

Anyway, other issues surrounding people who ARE vegetative are handled discretely and humanely as possible, sometimes for termination, such as abortions, or for long-term care in an institution. For those who are of higher functioning, they still have a life and joy to share.

As per my previous blog entries, the spirit resides inside useless bio-forms. I know because I heard the most beautifully voice from a retarded man. I know because I’ve seen emotions through facial expressions, like smiling or crying, of patients who are permanently contracted in odd positions of their custom-made, padded bed.

I know death is a difficult issue to handle. For those who really don’t love their fleshy units, there is the option to let go. For those who believe in pro-life, you can see and hear for yourselves if being beautiful on the outside outweighs what people cannot appreciate on the inside — the spirit and will to live.

Maw said her parents looked up to heavens & knew best time to plant & harvest. Like clockwork, they lived by rhythm of nature. Rise upon sunrise, rooster crows.

  • 20090814-Not Invited

    Brat excitedly said to us:

Come on over to my house and look at my hobby!

Maw to Brat in master bedroom:

In Filipino tradition, we cannot go over without the invitation of your wife!

This is true because while the Brat wants to share his joy of a newly built model boat, his wife, a Chinese has not been respectful of our Filipino culture. Hence, DO NOT pigeon hole Filipinos with other ASIANS. Our culture is more Westernized.

He shed a slight tear of this realization that he married the wrong woman. Sorry.

  • 20090809-Real Daddy

[Flynn’s Editorial: The Jacksons MUST allow Mark Lester the right to claim any paternity suit. I truly believe that Paris is the daughter of Mr. Lester, whose daughter Harriet (15) looks similar. When comparing a photo of Paris and Harriet together, Harriet’s right ear, jawline and plaintive smile all give that away. I cannot believe people are using the children as pawns – a business model that I’m all too familiar, much like how Nigeria, Afghanistan, North Korea and all those `kidnappers` hold people hostage as ransom for money!]

Jackson family anger as Oliver! star Lester claims: I’m the daddy

Snippet from external source (visit the link to view the full article):

Claims by Oliver! star Mark Lester that he could be the biological father of Michael Jackson’s children were angrily dismissed by the singer’s family yesterday.

They accused the former child star of a ‘genetic lottery attempt’ to stake a claim on Jackson’s multi-million-pound fortune.

Lester, who made his name in the 1968 film version of the hit musical, had been good friends with Jackson since 1981.
