Quintain is the general term, or category, applied to a poetic form containing 5 lines. Various subsets of the quintain category, each containing its own rules/guidelines, include tanka, cinquains, and limericks.

  • 20070106-Plain Express

    The tortured minds explain.
    They claim to be insane
    and exist within pain
    or with the ball and chain
    by dark makeup in vain.

    The curious complain.
    They can’t deny their brain
    and the unrelenting strain
    of bloody colored rain
    poured on daily mundane.

    The lonely entertain.
    They utilize champagne
    the Mary Jane, cocaine,
    the arcane through the vein
    and aboard the soul train.

    A poem about EMO people of three stanzas with six syllables in monorhyme pattern.

  • 20061212-Raging Thought

    It’s not ‘just a thought’
    over my distraught
    of having been bought
    by those who have sought
    from losing a lot.

    My ‘ragging’ the wrought
    has led me to naught
    of silicon snots
    who rightly fought
    and have not been caught.

    Sun:
    sunlight,
    golden angels:
    return the Moon’s flower,
    as below and the same as God.
    solar.

    Moon:
    moonlight,
    silver mirror:
    reflects the Sun’s power,
    as above and the same as man.
    lunar.
