A literal technique ‘opposite’ to verse (e.g. poetry).

Since the fat one and his cahoots (who are typical like greedy politicians lying through their teeth for seven years) are holding me hostage with the unknown until next week, I have made more modifications to my paid CSS stylesheet to keep me busy in the meantime. I couldn’t stand the blank look on the top of each page and wanted a ‘Custom Header’.

Once again, I remembered the faq.wordpress.com website, clicked on one of the forum threads and learned how to add a ‘background-image’. I found one old photo from online many years ago of a blue rose, which appears on Ryan’s website, by the way. A ‘main representative’ of this movement didn’t like me making contact with these associates at their level.

Anyway, I centered both the image and text, which I had to change from bright blue to basic white because the color of the rose had almost the same color as the text. I tried ‘background-repeat: no repeat’ with ‘text-align: right’ for the header; but the photo stayed to the left while the text was all by itself to the right. I don’t know how to ‘shrink’ the image.

After receiving another stupid call delaying the inevitable from the fat one a few minutes ago, I managed to edit my CSS stylesheet the whole of this morning. The day is clear blue skies and beautiful and the white flowers of our apricot tree is blooming since last week. His weather overseas, however, is rainy and gloomy.

The original ‘Chaos Theory’ was too dark and black. With the paid upgrade, we administrators have the ability to modify the layout to our liking but we cannot do anything with the elements. One reason why people like me get easily bored with one theme is that we cannot seem to personalize the layout the way we want from the color, size, text, etc. There are more features that are lacking in other themes that I cannot find elsewhere with this current one.

The first modification was centering the header, enlarging the font size to 24px and changing the text colors to blue and gray instead of black and white. Second, I expanded the width of the entry content (floating right) from 510 to 580 and reduced the width of the entry meta (floating left) from 250 to 180.

But this meant the entry title had to be reduced from 24px to 20px in order for the posting information from overlapping the content entries to the right. I reviewed some of my older posts and found the sentences with the longest lines to one of my poems are not wrapped around to the next line! I love this version better.

A poem is not simply words but a visual art form that could be compromised by the default themes that have narrow columns. And I don’t like small fonts either! It hard on the eyes for us more myopic individuals and I don’t always remember to zoom into the pages. I would prefer to read what is already presented by the bloggers.

Now that I’ve finished editing most of the areas of my weblog site that I feel needed improvement, I am able to blog once again. This morning’s breakfast of pancakes I made the size of one’s palm and cleaning up thereafter are minor distractions for blogging upstairs in my computer room. I do hope this time current theme is a keeper because, frankly, I grow weary of looking at the same old theme.

Unfortunately there is this annoying drawback: I cannot copy and paste a ‘normal’ sized version for my archives onto a word document in case the WordPress.com server eliminates my hard work. I would have to go back and darken the light text in order to read the small print. But regardless of this small sacrifice of convenience, I am proud to say that I’m happy for the time being.

I’m sorry, folks: But I got bored with the ‘Digg 3’ theme already because it is lacking some of my viewing essentials to make me a happy blogger. As a result, I am currently trying out the ‘Chaos Theory’, which is mostly dark and black. Besides the deeper colors being hard on my eyes, I like the bottom widgets of two equidistant columns.

These columns allow the extra space I needed in order to view each line item within each widget clearly. And unlike the basic two column themes, which have narrower columns, there are no more annoying word wraps to the next lines. Plus, the unordered list items are differentiated by these nice circles, especially for both the RSS widget and Text widget.

For example, my ‘copyright’ widget can now be read in one line. My preferred located is at the bottom most section of the left sidebar. This piece of information appears at anytime in case I forget to publish my ‘copyright’ information for each entry.  Some themes don’t have the bottom widgets, which seem to disappear when only one post is viewed.

When doing general searches within my blogs, I’d like to see the full blog entries as well as the post information. This current theme allows me to see the blog entries in its entirety to the right side of the page and the post information to the left somewhere towards the beginning of each entry. The ‘time’ stamp appears for both ‘Posts’ and ‘Pages’.

Although the font size for the widgets and post information is quite small, the text color of blue against the black background has a cooling effect for reading. The font size, font type and font color for the body of my blogs appears ‘normal’ enough to read. The articles can be read without the distraction of those left and right sidebars getting in the way.

Unfortunately, there are still some drawbacks. I want my ‘Custom Header’ of a white cloud formation against clear blue skies somewhere towards the top. Furthermore, the space in between each < p > tag is too close together to read. Now, I’d have to use the right scrollbar and the offending mouse more often than my keyboard in order scroll down faster.

Anyway, this is my new theme for now and I know this won’t last long either. The point is that no matter what the appearance of any new skin a blog may take on, the contents will pretty much remain the same.

I’ve been playing around with my website for the whole day, which has been nothing but clear blue skies with an armada of sylphs overhead, including those nasty chemtrails along the hillsides. And after a couple of weeks of rain, my website has so far turned out to be a much prettier monster. I’m so addicted that I keep logging in to find what else I could add to make this site more interesting.

Then I decided to add a ‘FAQ’ page numbered as the ‘Page Order’ of 5, with the ‘Site Map’ page bumped to a number 6. I reviewed a few samples of FAQ pages online and created this page with a question and answer format based on one website. That took me about a couple of hours and I got so hooked up completing this one page that I ignored ‘Maw’ hollering downstairs. I refused to exercise for a good thirty minutes to dance to some music from an old cassette tape.

After watching the third and last presidential debate between Hillary and Obama, I added the first paragraph to the ‘Site Map’ page to briefly explain the purpose of this website. I combined the ‘Tagline’ in one sentence and shared a small part of my little biographical information from the ‘Your Profile’ tab into the second sentence. Everything else about this page remained the same except for the insertion of the ‘FAQ’ link underneath the ‘Help’ link.

thought during morning mass: how about if the these aliens function in our reality through symbolism and not spoken language as we know it. so I ‘thought to my self’ of typical symbols – trees, halos, crosses, on gelard uruk

cooked pancakes! fluffy stacks! about twelve big ones instead of buying 3 flap jacks for around $4.50 at Denny’s.

Then I did around two dozen crepe of mostly egg yellow and rubbery texture. Then dad called jr. to come by and pick up the pancake and crepe extra left over. he left around 07:50PM after arriving an hour ago.

I did my widgets and learned at night about the
tag. saw and saved two photos of Shrimpsei, his daughter and granpaw!

  • 20080221-Testing Themes

Well, I’ve been testing all of the default WordPress.com themes and still cannot make up my mind. The defaults are not perfect to my liking but I’ll have to make that work because I’m no expert in editing CSS. I won’t be renewing my ‘annual subscription’ to mess around with CSS anymore. It’s a pain and really only meant for the gurus in this area.

So for most of the day, all I did was clicked, previewed, activated and cycled the free themes all over again until the following morning. The current time is 01:23AM and I’m going to have to make this particular blog quick so I could get some much needed sleep. Sleep is nothing compared to being awake and actually excited in a frustrated way.

The previous theme I’ve had for over two months got boring and the font size was too small. Plus, there were a few other items I wanted but couldn’t find the right combination.

First, I wanted a custom header that would ‘stretch out’ automatically to fit the mostly ‘fixed width’ of the themes and not have to be cropped with the far right hand areas missing. Both the ‘Blog title’ and ‘Tagline’ should be included but found some themes didn’t have the option of including the ‘Tagline’.

Second, I wanted a navigation bar which is mostly located at the top of each screen. Some themes didn’t have this option and my ‘Pages’ looked too cluttered and were to large to manage as a ‘Widget’, which didn’t have an easier way of including ONLY ‘Parent Pages’.

As I clicked on several well known website for examples, I realized I could narrow down my original ‘Tabs’ modeled after a typical book format to something easier for the readers, like ‘About me’, ‘Contact’, ‘Contents’, ‘Help’ and ‘Site Map’. Of course, mine is not the best but at least I got the main stuff consolidated like a credit card under the ‘Contents’ tab.

I went to another website offering free web hosting and web tools in hopes of trying to include everything I want in a weblog. But I went bonkers after realizing how much effort is required to build the site that WordPress has easily provided with those nice ‘Widgets’! I love WordPress! And they are local in the Bay Area, which makes updating my stuff at this weblog much faster and, yeah, safer.

Third, I wanted larger fonts. This was narrowed down to my current theme, ‘Contempt’ and it describes my attitude soon in the court of law if justice is not served now!

Anyway, next I wanted the category and tags filed underneath the title to each of my blog, at least. But for some themes, I had to click on each title to get more information, especially the date and time stamps I published each post entry. And I wanted to make sure that my ‘copyright’ information was located somewhere towards the bottom of each viewable page, too. But the ‘sidebars’ only go as far as not only the number of post viewed per page but the length of each post.

Lastly, I wanted ‘Widgets’! I discovered how versatile these little suckers are before I redid my ‘Pages’ logically to fit the navigation bar (without the last tab page disappearing off the right side or staggering unevenly above and below). Now I have four of the total nine ‘Text Widgets’ remaining to modify, drag into the sidebar and save the changes.

I’ll need to decide what other goodies (or animations) I could program into these widgets. All I’m using right now are those smiling faces and those are fun for now. Unfortunately, I couldn’t program a java scripts or an ‘iframe’ as text because WordPress doesn’t allow nice amenities, like free world clocks, to be updated for our web site.

Woke up around 06:00M to the running water of Maw cleaning out her CPAP accessories. My left nostril was especially congested. I sprayed with medicated nasal spray this time. After peeing and rinsing out my mouth, I greeted her.

Yesterday (02/13/2008) was very clear blue skies as I thought out loud while imaging Chris’ orgone run last year in Mt. Hamilton. Very clear blue skies indeed.

Today 02/14/2008 was also clear blue skies with several high altitude chemtrails in the air, especially over Saratoga, CA when Maw and I went to find matching pink material for her sweat pants repair project at Hancock Fabrics.

Played around with my theme since yesterday night and finalized the same one without touching ‘Edit CSS’ under my flynnsblogs.com site. Yesterday, Pete told me the fools are still negotiating about some ‘deed’ until the end of this week.

Today, GWB wanted the expired bill (since Sat.) to continue the spying on terrorists. Later around 01:30PM, Mitt Romney officially announced his endorsement to John McCain, which means he gets all of Mitt’s delegate votes. Poor Huckabee!

Yesterday, I blogged about the possibility of assassinations on five remaining presidential candidates. This morning, CNN put up a headline ‘Assassination, possible?’
