So, what’s new? After getting lost at the old location and finding my way around one block or so away, I’ve taken a test from 10:15AM to 12:45PM in the Auditorium of the Milpitas Library. I thought that if I signed up first, which I did, that I could take the test and leave. But since that didn’t happened as planned, I kept my cool and tried not to make too many faces and sounds, knowing full well that the FED trolls were sitting everywhere and directly behind me.
How do I know? They asked OBVIOUS questions, like ‘Can I start/leave’? ‘Do I get special treatment?’ That sort of crap. I’m not being paranoid but, hey, beyond a reasonable doubt they need to hire good workers and I’m good to go. But I think I messed up on some of these VERY easy questions. I’m not that smart, I guess.
I wanted to drive Paw to his doctor’s appointment at 1:00PM and buy grocery too. But I was stuck at that place. Then while on the road, the AT&T ‘Line Maintenance’ guy called about a one-mile from my location. I know it’s against the law to talk while driving but I was stopped at a street light. And now that my high-speed internet connection was restored, I am happy, thanks to Maw for talking with Joseph (a Vietnames) for awhile until I got home.
I’ve updated my online profiles for some recruiting agencies to reduce my chances of spamming, applied for jobs online, checked my emails (and answered one rare email from a dedicated blogger) and browse my usual articles on conspiracy and stuff, which includes my signing ‘reactivating’ my Facebook.com account and DELETED everything from videos, photos and my profiles. Then I ‘deactivated’ that again a few minutes ago.
I also changed my AT&T password for both the Yahoo! account and the modem. It’s much faster now! Damn! I love it! I love blogging! I was tempted to change my WordPress.COM theme to something different but I didn’t work hard on this current theme by ‘Rounded by Ghyslain Armand‘. It worked well because the ‘width’ went well with my SLOWER and smaller laptop screen resolution of 800 by 600 pixels for the past two weeks without the faster internet connection.
The afternoon sun is shining in my eyes. Earlier, there were fluffy, puffy clouds of white. It wasn’t too cold. At least this morning’s warm shower did me good. I hope THEY keep their promises. Egads!

We just got back from SpeeDee Oil Change & Tune-Up after paying $822.15 for the 30/60/90 tune-up for a 6-cylinder car. I maxed out that nice credit card. Sheesh!
My front brakes were gone and had to be replaced. Mario, the technician, said: ‘Don’t mess with the brakes’. Of course, I had to get that done even though I was strapped for cash.
The fluids for transmission, rear differential, coolant and oil were flushed and replaced, except for the power steering. The spark plugs were replaced, too.
After depositing my EDD and mailing off the last EDD form, hopefully, I could qualify for my very first extension. I expect to see a letter tomorrow after filing last Friday.
But if I land this job via a temporary agency, I could end up seeing my old co-workers! Wow! I remember their names, too. They are older than me and family of their own. Their manager is cool, too.
So there is no one to impress in the collections department except my getting back to work and paying my taxes. This is one area of A/R that will help improve my communications skills and add to my resume.
Seriously, staying at home is not healthy! It means lack of socializing with my peers. But I’ve learned the old-timers are slower and do need my assistance from time to time.
Once again, in the upcoming two weeks, if nothing materializes from either ‘Arnie’ or ‘Barry’ or both, I’ll have to switch to the next level. It’s because the ‘bros’ weren’t being 100% square with me.

Oh, wee! I’ve got a yellow-colored, smiley face from the ‘Matt Meister’ in response to my post done via m.wordpress.com: 20090131-Mblog Update. I replied with a quick reply to his response as ‘Thanks, Matt!’
Since my outdated cellphone could only transmit 160 characters, I couldn’t be specific as to why I wanted ‘credit’ for my FYI regarding the label. What I wanted was say ’30 credits’ to apply towards my next, say, ‘No-ads’ upgrade.
But y’all know, we aren’t entitled to much except appreciation, which is fine because is not about moi, the blogger extraordinaire. It’s about supporting WordPress.COM. And the best way is to provide general comments, concerns or feedbacks by selecting ‘Help’ via the WordPress.com Support located on the top of the Dashboard.
Of course, this brings me to why I’m blogging early in the morning. I couldn’t sleep after using the toilet, had a lot of inner dialogue as to what other modifications I could do to my weblog site here at WordPress.com while lying in bed and had to log online.
As y’all can see, I streamlined the ‘bottom bar’ widgets to ‘Search’, ‘Blog Stats’, ‘Akismet: Spam Blocked’, and two ‘Text’ — one for ‘Signed books by DB’ and the other for moi – ‘Behold!’ It’s because none uses the extra features (like ‘Archives’, ‘Calendar’, ‘Categories’, and ‘Tag Cloud’) except moi.
The next stuff may be to add a couple of stain glass images to either side of my weblog site. I could only find some cartoon-like clip arts from Microsoft via the Word document program and will probably spell out ‘Flynns Blogs’ with Flynn on the left panel and Blogs on the right panel.

20090124-Editing Weblog
1. I’ve decided to keep the Rounded theme by Ghyslain Armand because it has all the features I wanted:
- time/date stamp for both pages and posts
- category/tag fields to describe my posts
- navigation bar to draw attention to my five main pages
- graphics of rounded, flowers and muted colors of blue and brown
2. I’ve decided to make this theme from two columns into one column for the sake of people with screen resolutions of 800 by 600 pixels. My current screen resolution is 1024 by 768 pixels. Based on other one-column themes, do the following:
- Set the width to 750px to the `body`, `content` and `menu`.
- Set the width to 100% for `sideitem`.
But I had a tough time with the `masthead` and `footer`. The `header` and `masthead` sticks out a bit on either side; while the sides to the `footer` didn’t line up with my bottom bar.
3. I’ve decided to add an scroll bar `overflow:scroll` to the `content` with a height of 625px. I wanted to add another scroll bar to the `menu` but that would take away visibility to the widgets below.
4. By making this current theme one column, I’ve accomplished the following:
- Retain visibility of a `Sticky post` entitled `Recent posts` to the front page with one scroll bar.
- Allow cellphone users quick access to five menu and recent posts below.
- Allow users better viewing with lower screen resolution of 800 by 600 pixels.
But I had to set`’Blog pages show at most three posts` via `Reading Settings` under the `Dashboard`. This reduces the time scrolling and allows the reader the opportunity to click the `Next Page >>` selection located on the bottom left corner of the post entry `content`.
So there you have my temporary satisfaction. I’m trying to find a `permanent job` to get myself of THEIR hole until next month and this would allow me some distraction away from blogging and altering the appearance to my favorite weblog site: WordPress.COM.

20090121-Editing Weblog
I’ve edited two Microsoft Office PowerPoint 2003 slideshow presentations from my personal computer and am now uploading the second of two into my SlideShare.net accout. The first one uploaded faster than the second because there is little to no photos. The status reads: `Sending request to upload.slideshare.net`. It’s so slow!
As for my WordPress.COM weblog site and its current theme of `Rounded by Ghyslain Armand`, I’ve made the fonts larger for the `ul` (unlisted) and `li` (listed) styles. The only `list – style` that seems to work is ‘disc’ and not `circle`, `square`, `decimal`, etc. Each time I changed the `list – style` the rest of the `content post` appeared larger.
So I found out why the `font – size` differed for the: `body`, `content` and `sideitem`. I played around with my paid CSS stylesheet and had to click the `Preview` button each time, just to view what changes I wanted, and before clicking the `Save the changes` button.
I think I still have some awake time to edit at least Flynn`s Books. Then again, I think I better re-work Flynn`s Orgone instead and remove any reference to the small Trademark word — ORGONITE!

20090118-Editing Weblog
I’m temporarily satisfied with the ‘Rounded’ theme via WordPress.COM. I’ve edited the CSS stylesheet to my likings:
- uploaded all the gif, jpg, png images via Media Library
- larger fonts for content and side items
- narrower masthead
- darker font color for text widget
The important part to this project was finding a theme that had:
- time/date stamp (for both page and post)
- navigation bar
- side/menu/item bar located to the right of content/post/entry section
- some color of blue, brown and green
- some graphics showing pretty flowers
- rounded corners for a softer effect
But I was more concerned for any cellphone users who would view my ‘Recent posts’. If they had internet access, they didn’t have to navigate (or scroll down) too far to read whatever crosses my mind at the moment.
I too recently discovered the ease of using my cellphone to enter my blogs via `m.wordpress.com`. No one really calls my damn cellphone, no employers (due to the stupid recessions), no family (since I’m with them 24/7) and no friends (who took my livelihood and sanity for over eight slong years).
So this newest theme selection is what will stay for awhile, I hope.
