  • 20031205-True Nationality

I am browsing my old `readings` folder on my personal computer and came across the following article saved on `Friday, December 05, 2003, 12:18:00 AM` (formerly from selfnetwork.com, now LIVESTRONG.COM – Health, Fitness, Lifestyle:

    What’s your true nationality?

Are you—in your heart of hearts—British, French, Italian or German? Take this quiz and find out which of these four European countries would make you feel most at home.

    Your Analysis:

Say it loud and proud: “Ich bin Deutsch” You would feel most at home in the country of snow-capped Bavarian Alps and the Black Forest, of the Rhine and picturesque Beer gardens.

Your personality makes a good fit in Germany, too. Like many Germans, you have a strong pragmatic mind. You tend to reject fantasy and daydreams and refuse to stray from what is tangible reality. You appreciate order, quality engineering and take pride in your own work; you are efficient, hard working and driven in what you do.

That said, you are also a great pleasure seeker. You have compartmentalized work and play in your life and in your mind: when you are working you are focused only on that, but come play time you are greatly attracted to concrete pleasure. You love nature and robust outdoor activities; cuisine is healthy and hearty; home life is simple and hospitable.

Munich is your soul city, with its picturesque architecture nestled away in the mountains, its warm, hospitable beer gardens and polite, welcoming people who work hard and play hard.

    Shall I say `Ach du Lieber`, too?

  • 20090916-Red Messenger

A few minutes ago, I was researching the words `Angel` and `Flynn` via wikipedia.org and found a striking resemblance to my first name in which `Flynn` is my nickname, followed by `Angellos` (a messenger per Koine Greek) as my would-be last name.

And truly, I am born under a fire sign, astrologically speaking. And fire could be flaming blue or mostly golden white to other colors of `Flynn` – red, orange and yellow! And, no, my cheeks are not ruddy, only when freezing cold as shown in one of my childhood pictures taken during winter.

  • 20090907-Hot Blooded

You better control yourself. It’s better to stay oppressed than to let your emotions get you in trouble!

Both bio-units have been reminding me over and over again to stop giving the bird to drivers who cut me off in traffic, to stop screaming (softly of course) expletives at people who annoy me and to quit thinking bad thoughts about stupid and ugly people who don’t agree with my worldview.

Only I’m too hot-blooded to care what people think of me or how my actions and words would be unacceptable.

    Ng kooloo ang doogoo koo!
(Translated as: A boiling blood of mine!)

For you see, I’m born under a fire sign. This means I tend to burn at both ends. My current hair color is highlighted to shades of fire – orange, red and yellow-blond. It doesn’t look good on an Asian woman who was born with naturally BLACK hair.

If I had a wig for every day of the week, life would be fun, just like Bette Midler who is born on the same month and date as moi but not in year. But with the stupid laws and social morés of a good Christian woman, born and raised, I’m forced to be UN-TRUE to myself.

Someone like moi would love packing a pistol and shooting off at anything that moves or brandishing a sharpened nice. But I’m being facetious here and not being a native Texan, there is only a blogger, moi, who can’t stop telling the whole world her problems.

Solution: As per Obama’s speech this morning at the AFL-CIO Labor Day picnic in Cincinnati, Ohio and with his campaign chant:

FIRE IT UP! READY TO GO!

Oh! He meant let’s eat bar-be-que, right?

  • 20090825-Phone Idiot

I’m a phone idiot; don’t know how to answer properly; and stammer and stumble on my words very well, too!

I intercepted a phone call from an `Unavailable` 760-895-4163 at 1800pm on 8/25/2009 from unknown, who was asking for Paw. I asked what is this regarding and didn’t ask who it was! I promptly said: `Paw was busy`. The Mexicano who pronounced Paw’s full name correctly will call back. I said rather loudly prior to handing up: `Whatever`! That was rude of moi.

Maw asked moi if I asked who it was and said it might have been GE, who successfully repaired the freezer/refrigerator, which had a burned out heater. We saw how the frost accumulated on the metal pieces.

  • 20090822-People Search

Holy crap! I’m nowhere to be found! It appears that I’ve been wiped out from the pages of history. Waaahhh! It’s okay if I’m only a memory. I take a hint that [sob] I’ve been lost, stolen or forgotten. The feeling of being abandoned is loneliness.

  • 20090822-Painter’s Finger

A former co-worker, a South Asian Indian, I believe, pointed to my right index finger and said to moi:

    You should be a painter.

And this is Flynn’s Blog, my canvas where upon which my words are typed, not with one finger but with mostly eight of the ten, the two being my thumbs. Creativity is here. Only I wish people would show me the exit door. I’m getting bored with blogging.

  • 20090821-Preferred Wants

Honestly, not interested in unhealthy fat guys or dark-skin fools or non-‘Christian’ extremists or Asians or large family or slow-minds or addicted, bad habits.

  • 20090804-Not Inspired

Why do you think I refuse to get married? To avoid rearing ungrateful brats, dealing w/ in-laws, fussing over house chores or yardwork. Life’s freedom w/o nags.

  • 20090720-Two Toned

Here is a photo of my two colors: darker, hairy left forearm (Filipino) and lighter, shaved left leg (other Asian). The photo was taken in the downstairs bathroom and on top of a nice, flowery blue toilet cover. That is my sentimental Rolex watch on my left wrist. It’s a classic piece as given by Paw since birth and is the only watch I’ve ever owned that never goes out of fashion.

  • 20090609-Cheap Shoes

That day after morning mass, I noticed my worn-out pair of black-colored flat shoes (or ‘pumps’). The top had what appeared to be scratches but I paid little head; for they were the most comfortable shoes I could find from Payless ShoeSource.

They felt more like slippers than for dress wear, which was why I’d always wear my favorite shoes to work and to mass. And for whatever reason, I find the cheaper stores are more comfortable than the higher end establishments. Plus they were dirt cheap for around $15.00.

As far as I know, I’ve had them for over 5 to 7 years. Now after taking a closer look, I saw the sides were already split. The material was not real leather but soft vinyl. And I love soft shoes. There was an almost spring-like bounce with each step I took. But as the years wore on, the heel portion of the shoes stretched out to the point where my feet would not stay inside.

    My old pair of shoes.

At least I had bought a spare long time ago at the same store but probably for a slightly higher price. So I brough those out and tried them on. I knew they hurt because the material is much tighter around the sides and the soles were not as padded. I didn’t suffer as much now that my feet felt much smaller due to the cold weather and maybe from exercising or whatever, like old age.

    My new pair of shoes.

I’m not too thrilled about this new pair, even though it does sport a couple of golden buckles on top of the shoes. The velor material is already wearing off a bit. But at least it doesn’t have cracks, slips out or look too basic, like my former shoes.

I can’t seem to get rid of my old pair because it had a classic look, perfect for any occasion. The toe area is WIDE enough for my toes to wiggle around and not pointed for entities with sharpened-claws. The length is, however, best at 9.5 inches. And I’m sure I’d leave behind large footprints on the beach sands.

And I couldn’t just throw the old one away because I could donate it to charity and someone else might benefit from this ragged looking piece of prized possession. Right now, it’s hanging with the rest of shoes that aren’t worn as frequently due to heels higher than 2.5 inches and the fact they feel too tight to wear for everyday wear.

    R.I.P old timer!
