    Powerful typhoon slams into Japan

TOKYO – A powerful typhoon slammed into Japan on Thursday, damaging buildings and roads, halting train service and canceling hundreds of flights as it swept across the country. One man died and dozens were reported injured.

Typhoon Melor hit the country’s main island early Thursday with strong winds. The storm flooded roads and homes, toppled trees and power lines and heavily damaged some buildings.

TPTB continue to mess up people’s lives. How much more will be gone for your misdeeds?

Death toll in Indonesia earthquake rises to 777

PADANG, Indonesia – Rescue workers pulled victims, some screaming in pain, from the heavy rubble of buildings felled by a powerful earthquake that killed at least 777 people. The death toll was still expected to rise.

The brunt of Wednesday’s 7.6-magnitude earthquake, which originated in the sea off Sumatra island, appeared to have been borne by the city of Padang, where a government official said most the dead came from.

The region was jolted by another powerful earthquake Thursday morning, causing damage but no reported fatalities.

More than 500 buildings including hotels, schools, hospitals and a mall were destroyed or damaged in Padang. Thousands of people were still believed to be trapped in the rubble, said Rustam Pakaya, head of the Health Ministry’s crisis center. Workers used backhoes to shift debris.

It appears my anger at TPTB and pals (for delaying REPAYMENT of my faith) has manifested once again. This time it is Samoa – both Western Samoa and American Samoa.

    First, there was a:

7.9 earthquake in the Samoa Island Region

    Date: Tue, 29 Sep 2009 17:48:11 UTC
    Lat/Lon: -15.5577/-172.073
    Depth: 18

Next and as a result of that earthquake:

Pacific tsunami hits Samoa islands, people killed
    1 hr 2 mins ago

WASHINGTON/WELLINGTON (Reuters) – A powerful 8.0 magnitude earthquake generated Pacific tsunami on Wednesday, killing an unknown number of people in American and Western Samoa and sending others fleeing for higher ground, officials said.

An official of the U.S. National Park Service said there had been deaths in American Samoa, but there was no word on how many. Similarly, a local police spokeswoman in nearby Western Samoa said the tsunami had killed an unknown number of people there.

A father of a finder used to live in Apia, Western Samoa. That family resides in Santa Clara, CA. As per a New Zealander (via a brief report on CNN), a hotel (in Pago Pago, American Samoa) was completely demolished.

After nine slong years and while steaming un-restfully at church for the past few days, I’ve been getting more than frustrated, nay,  angry at TPTB. My anger has once again manifested as `Philippine death toll rises, as new storms brew`. A particular bank happens to be headquartered in Metro Manila. I was thinking about Makati instead but a particular city does start with the letter `M`.

I recalled the struggle of my Filipino people, who work as apple pickers here in America and were housed in little houses. But since the Filipinos are already used to living in such horrid conditions, they worked hard like any ILLEGAL IMMIGRANTS, who have successfully put their children to college.

Now on the recent news about Obama’s health care insurance reform bill, I take offense at other ILLEGAL IMMIGRANTS get better treatment and possibly free health care in the form of socialized, government-controlled system. While watching a cable news, an advocate for IMMIGRANTS include the ability to buy into affordable capitalistic heath care, which makes more sense.

What makes the difference between ILLEGAL IMMIGRANTS from Mexico and the Philippines is that the Mexicans are violent, killers with gang-like mentality. So I would advocate NOT to give the American’s taxes in the form of government subsidies, such as health care, which is already implemented through the emergency room.

Anyway, my other story comes from a conversation with a couple of older Filipino parishioners a few weeks ago. It is with disappointment to learn that Filipinos working overseas have built a naughty reputation for stealing everything in hotels, from picture frames to towels and down to the bars of soap and toilet paper, too!

In another related story, I see the same struggle from one of my cousin, who showed one of her many provocative photos (which I once posted via my Flickr.com account) and her story of doing business with a foreigner, a German man, who was married and whose wife called one day, only to be intercepted by my cousin, who had to let the man go. In return she got jewelry. For me, that was a sad trade-off.

And all this for survival. And like my cousin’s poor plight, it was all for naught: my goodness to help those people from that `similar` international bank will NOT go FORGOTTEN!

During my last and final vacation in the Philippines back in 1996, I recall seeing one of my cousin’s plastic cards with the numbers towards the top. On the lower left hand corner of that card, I see her married name and below that line read: FOUNDER. The card is issued by CITIGROUP, another entity of my PERSONAL INTEREST, only in another Muslim nation westward of the Philippines.

So all the pieces will fall in place – in due time.

[Flynn’s editorial: While briefly watching the cable news that day, I felt peace when mostly Muslim men (of course) were praying outside the US Capitol. I saw unity here, except I would have preferred to see the WOMEN and CHILDREN present!

There was something familiar about white-washed walls of Mosque, no images of God (or their Allah) and long robes (or clothing) as wore by people of Muslim faith. It pleases me to see simplicity in monotone colors. But colors, texture and various designs are always a refreshing welcome (as part of CHANGE)!

I too give them my blessings.]

Muslims hold prayers outside US Capitol
Fri Sep 25, 4:30 pm ET

WASHINGTON (AFP) – More than a thousand Muslim men and women gathered Friday outside the US Capitol to hold a prayer meeting and demonstrate against prejudice against Islam.

With men on one side, and women on the other, the crowd prayed on lawns outside the building in an event organized by the Dar-ul-Islam Elisabeth mosque, in northeastern New Jersey.

On a side note, I recall listening to an author of Muslim faith on our local radio station 560am one early morning en route to attend morning mass at 08:00am. She called in and spoke to Lee Rogers at that time. She explained VERY clearly and very intellectually that the Muslims believe that their faith is the only one.

I believe this is why there will always a war between the Jews and Muslims. It’s sadden me to know that religious organizations continue to divide the human spirits from truly uniting.

On another side note, I have been thinking and blessing Mecca (with my right hand) for the past few days. For, you see, my computer workstation upstairs faces the general direction to the Pacific Ocean, which is westward. This was after viewing a show a few days ago on History Channel of how the direction of Muslim pilgrims walking around and around Mecca affected the ‘positive flow’ of earth and heaven connection (as directed by Allah).

This is by no means coincidental between my thoughts and prayers for the Muslim’s peace of mind and their public appearance in Washington D.C. that day! But it’s an eerily synchronous event nonetheless.

  • 20090922-Ban Plastics

[Flynn’s editorial: I am in support with Mayor Chuck Reed of San Jose to ban plastic bags. Why? There are lots of Asian restaurants. Most people in San Jose, CA are too busy (or lazy for that matter) to cook anyway!

And so with the increase of hungry people ordering take-outs to feed their families and themselves, that means more plastic bags to hold foods, which should be prepared at home by women and with tender loving care, too!

I’m surprised that more uncaring people can NOT feed their family healthy food and at the same time control the ingredients by removing excess fats and oil and avoiding unnatural ingredients, like additives, food color and food enhancers.

I can envision an increase in businesses producing recyclable bags and in employers offering jobs for more graphic designers, too! We already have a Longs Drug store bag and a DeCA commissary bags, by the way.]

San Jose votes to ban plastic bags

Silicon Valley / San Jose Business Journal – by David Goll

The familiar retail store question — paper or plastic — will soon become obsolete in the Bay Area’s largest city.

By a vote of 9-1, San Jose City Council members approved an ordinance Tuesday that would ban single-use plastic and paper carryout bags from the city’s retail establishments by Jan. 1, 2011.

Council member Pete Constant cast the lone dissenting vote. Colleague Rose Herrera missed the meeting due of illness.

[Flynn’s editorial: While listening to CoastToCoastAM.com with George Noory, I came across its article: Nessie Proof? Now, I’m no expert. • 20090826-Borrowing Retirements

[Flynn’s editorial: While waiting this morning in the car for the completion of Paw’s appointment with the doctor, I email this news article to myself from my cellphone around Wednesday, August 26, 2009 5:51 PM. I see that more corruption exists in and around Muslim-related investment schemes. Even the finders are scalping retiree’s money. I guess TPTB cannot seem to find suckers to raise capital nowadays.]

You’d think that with all the high-priced advice they’ve received — investment seminars in Singapore and Dubai, consultants earning half-million-dollar finders’ fees for linking eager borrowers with retirees’ money — Detroit’s employee pension funds would be setting the world on fire with their investment returns.
