20221021-1655. I am now working off and viewing stuff from my WordPress account. I can see my nifty Stats and Insights page where I can “View your site’s performance and learn from trends.” I can also see a notification that reads as:

20221021-1638. Here is another tip on how to create new posts AND share with social media account(s) with one-click of the Publish button!

First, make sure your Jetpack Social Media plugin is install and updated your WordPress.com site to take advantage of the full features galore.

Second, make sure you connect your self-hosted site to your WordPress.com site.

WARNING: Be sure to log outta other WordPress.com site because the Jetpack redirect link when done from the SAME web browser with get angry and keep pointing elsewhere.

Third, make sure you OPEN the WordPress.com site

20221021-1640. Oh, wow! I accidentally clicked on a saved/Favorite WordPress.com link and closed out this particular post page. And when I clicked to the “go back” to the previous page, this blog page was saved up to the latest/last typed character! Alleluia!

*and Add new post via https://wordpress.com/post/[domain name here]. This is where the Marketing and Integrations feature for Jetpack Social media connection allows for sharing your posts with one-click!

For some reason, after I navigated to Add new post, the Site Icon changed from the default letter “W” for WordPress to my paid customized Fiverr.com image. Interesting.

Once again, I can see that my previous posts are being shared on my social media account(s). Hoorah! I’m a happy blogger again!

20221021-1612. This is the second test against my self-hosted site against my WordPress.com site.

When I create new posts, I have two choices:

• From my self-hosted site, the hover-over link shows as: https://[domain name here]/wp-admin/post-new.php.
• From my WordPress.com site, the hover-over link shows as: https://wordpress.com/post/%5Bdomain name here]/

If I want to connect my posts and share to all my social media account(s), then I must make sure to use the WordPress.com site, since Jetpack is already part of WordPress! Duh!

I’ve been creating new posts using my self-hosted links, which does NOT have Jetpack Social Media as a basic/free feature. And so I was NOT able to share my blog posts to all my social media account(s) with one-click! I would have to purchase a separate, stand-alone upgrade if using EXCLUSIVELY my self-hosted web page links!

Another way to distinguish from the two sites are the Site Icons to these web pages!

• The site icon for my Site Icon is a paid customization from Fiverr.com. (I already paid for three nice customized Fiverr.com site icons.)
• The site icon for WordPress.com would be its default/stylized letter “W” in white text against blue background.

This particular set-up is true for when self-hosted sites are connected to its WordPress.com account. This is how I know if I’m blogging from the site that allows for sharing new posts to social media sites: Look for the Site Icon with the letter “W”!

20221021-1558. For the past few days, I’ve been baffled as to why I can’t share my blogs/posts/entries on my social media account(s)!

For creating new posts, I’ve been using my self-hosted site here: https://[domain address here]/wp-admin/post-new.php. But I can post here: https://wordpress.com/posts/%5Bdomain name here].

I noticed there are tags with calypsoify, block-editor, frame-nonce, and other codes in the link PRIOR to blogging. THEN the link changes to: https://[domain name here]/wp-admin/post.php, followed by other codes.

So I’m testing this version against the next post to see if this blog can be shared on my social media account(s).

20221021-1524. I do NOT know what happened but this is what I discovered on my self-hosted site.

irst, I was on the wp-admin/edit.php page when I saw a notification on the top reading as:

Jetpack Write once, post everywhere. Add Jetpack social.

So I clicked the Add Jetpack social button and arrived at the wp-admin/admin.php page when I saw the following page:

So I clicked the “Connect your social media account” link and Jetpack-dot-com redirected me to the login page.

(Mysteriously, I had logged into TWO WordPress.com account at the same time because the redirected link kept bringing up the incorrect login account! Since I’m slow, I had to think slowly and arrived to the conclusion that I had to log outta the incorrect link. So I clicked through the links again and arrived at the correct WordPress.com account.)

I think saw the following page:

I can choose from four social media accounts:

• Facebook – Share posts to your Facebook page.
• Twitter – Sharing posts to your Twitter feed.
• LinkedIn – Share posts to your connections.
• Tumblr – Share posts to your Tumblr blog.

I can manage connections too:

• Google Photos – Access photos stored in your Google Photos libray
• Mailchimp – Allo users to sign up to your Mailchimp mailing list.
• Instagram – Connect to use the Instagram widget.

You can tell if the connection is successful via an email notification, a banner notification or the Connect button say Disconnect and changed colors to red.

20221020-1917. I’m back online and I’m learning that for self-hosted site: first enter/locate/type your site address first AND then connect to the WordPress.com account!

No wonder the Jetpack stuff got angry at me and refused to connect to my WordPress.com account! I’ve been logging in the wrong order! Now I can see that connecting the social media will hopefully work this time!

So here goes nothing! But y’all don’t care! I know y’all don’t! Huh!

20221020-1925. Retract this blog post. I published this one under the wrong account! See? I’m stupid! Duh! Connecting to social media doesn’t work for this account because it’s part of the Jetpack upgrade. Damn!

20221020-1354. Outta too much time and excitement I created yet another mirror site with the domain that’s appropriate for my bible project.

And so after SPLITTING the self-hosted platform from the wpcomstaging site again and again and again and again (giving the team my long-winded reasons why I keep changing my name servers and DNS records), I transferred the domain, publicized the duplicated pages which were in Draft mode, and made the site appearance beautiful again, at least unto moi!

I was trying to export the pages from the wpcomstaging and import into these duplicate pages to the other site which has the Personal paid upgrade plan.

I did this unfortunate export/import because I noticed that the original Jump-Pages links were still under the original domain and I had to re-do everything. But the files were in Draft mode!

So in order to split the two Jump-Page links, I had to change the Published pages into Private pages. But I stopped about the third pages of 500 items! My big brain said this is NOT good and a waste of time, after I redid the CSV uploads to change the stuck Jump-Page domain links into the new domain links!

Whatever. This blog is confusing. To make a long story short. I undid the changes and publicized the site where I purchased the new domain, which I THEN transferred to the wpcomstaging site.

Lo and behold, with the sanctity of the business PRO paid upgrade plan, the reverting of Draft mode pages into Publicized mode pages, happened NOT in two days under cheaper plans, like Starter plan, Personal plan or Premium plan. No No No!

This my friends is the fringe benefit of buying the business PRO or even eCOMMERCE paid upgrade plan! Stuff was sped up tremendously in less than ONE hour!

We’re talking about 31,103 verses, 66 books, 2 landing pages (one for verses and one for books) and two extra pages called Home page and Front page for switching views as the MAIN landing page to my biblical project site.

See? Voila! If y’all wanna get good stuff and KNOW damn well y’all gonna use these nifty plugins which allowed me to change post_id (thusly so by messing up the system generated version), post_date, and especially post_contant), then y’all gotta buy into the Business plan and/or eCommerce plan and NOT the Personal plan or Premium plan if y’all are NOT gonna use plugins!!!!

20221020-0919. Welp, for whatever reason, I was viewing my mirror sites on my iPhone 13 (Red). And I kept seeing this message about claiming a domain for only ONE year – free! So I checked out/paid for a free domain!

Lo and behold I got fifteen views! But I had to tweak my site because it was still under a different domain name AND the privacy protection was turned off – you damned ninnies!

So I had to use my business upgrade PRO plan here to use the plugin so I could import the CSV files because the “jump page” links were all wrong and under the former domain name which I end up moving to another paid plan.

Whatever the case I’m having fun but messing up this project which I’ve been tweaking maybe at least a handful of times to almost a dozen edits!

So while I’m blogging, I’m checking up on the import content status as draft mode AND at the same time the status of editing the published version with the wrong domain into private mode.

So that means I still could keep the private mode versions AND I’ll end up editing the draft versions because each verse needs its landing page or else the handy dandy randomizer feature of WordPress will NOT work!

So that’s gonna take a couple of days because I do NOT know how to use SQL or PHP. None of that! Just the front-end manual editing, which is the LONG way!

20221020-0035. Now that my domain site is “active” from the self-service site to the full-service site, I could make use the plug-ins and Jetpack features, except for whatever reason, the Tools > Marketing > Connections feature in which my Twatter posts are NOT being shared!

But that’s okay because, like I said, the linked posts on Twatter is getting only ONE freaking view and so all I have to do is blog about anything and still see other stuff I could try like monetize or VideoPress, which is still locked under my self-service site as an Upgrade, assuming I could use the VideoPress under the PRO plan:- but NO – it doesn’t work that way!

There is some sort of “lock” that prevents users from using Jetpack from the self-hosted site while connected to the free-service site which has the PRO plan! That’s wrong and really bad for those who paid for so much AND still can’t use the features either way!

Wow! Anyway, I’m pissed off and I might end up reverting back to the self-hosted site after TESTING how far this Jetpack functionality works when I did NOT transfer out my domain completely from a registered provider, such as Gandi.net.

Oh the DNS folks are gonna get pissed off and wonder WTF is this crazy blogger switching between one platform to another? Y’all are the ones crazy! I thought everything could be share between platforms. NOT so, Flynn, NOT so – you idiot!

Welp, I’ll just wait until the full 24-72 hours cycle is completed and then revert back to what I told y’all about: that I would NOT be tempted to Connect my domain and stay put with the registered provider! My bad!

20221020-0006. Welp, I’ve discovered something new!

When using the WordPress mobile app for iOS (in my case) and since I had the WordPress.com login feature via Jetpack > Dashboard > Security toggled off, I could NOT view my site under the login credentials for both my self-hosted site (tied in with a different WordPress.com account) and my full-service site (also tied in with a different WordPress.com account)!

And since my big brain is still smart, I decided to toggle the WordPress.com login feature back on. Lo and behold, I am able to view my beautiful Dark Theme site! Woo! Hoo!

Everything seems to line up for the mobile preview, in which the two columns are responsive: the first/left column containing my query loop > post excerpts and the second/right column column containing my listed customized links, followed by the footer in which the second paragraph is wrapped around to the second line: I’m gonna have to change the typography size default to S for small!

20221019-2342. Okay, this is getting annoying and irritating. I’m wondering if this is a failsafe feature for both self-hosted and full-service sites.

• My self-hosted site has https://[domain name here]/wp-admin/edit.php
• My full-service site has the https://wordpress.com/posts/%5Bdomain name here] which has the Newer view.

The self-hosted site has the Classic view and shows 140 published and one draft.

The full-service site has the newer view and shows 129 published and three drafts.

I can’t figure it out!

So the previous post did NOT go through to my Twatter account and that’s frustrating.

So I’ll test to see if this post hits my Twatter account. But this post is whoing the self-service posting mode and NOT the wordpress.com mode!

I think the 24-72 hours propagation is still burping out the verification thought I still can seem to use both sites.

20221019-2320. In my previous post, I discovered that clicking on Jetpack will redirect my domain under the self-hosted site AND the left sidebar is different with the Domain and Jetpack towards the top and a surprise visit with Gutenberg above the AMP down below.

But for some strange reason, an this is probably due to the 24-72 hours propagation of my domain from the self-hosted site to the full-service site, when I click on the Jetpack, I can now see the left bar as it appears while using the full-service site.

I’ve answered by own question! There is a section under the Jetpack > Dashboard > Security and way down below I had the WordPress.com login turned on, meaning I could see the left sidebar as the full-service site.

But when I turned off the WordPress.com login, I could see the left sidebard as the self-service version!’

Below is what I see to toggle this feature on (for full-service view) or off (for self-service view). I’m gonna have to test my theory!

20221019-2330. Yes, I have successfully tested out my theory or theorem or whatever! When y’all toggle on the WordPress.com login feature, y’all are working/viewing from the full-service/freebie site. But when y’all toggle off the WordPress.com login feature, y’all are working/viewing from the self-service/paid site.

See? Voila! Me smart! This is my lazy way of learning stuff instead of trudging along slowly through long-reads of online support documentations. My bad! But that’s how I learn – reverse engineering hands-on, more or less. Yup! Yay!

When the WordPress.com login feature is turned off, I successfully Connected my site to Share posts on social media, mainly my Twatter account. I will observe if this particular/latest blog post is shared with Twatter. I’ve stopped Following strangers except the EM user account.
