Join us in prayer during the Easter season.

    Dear Jesus,

I thank you for the gift of your passion, death, and resurrection, through which you have shown each of us the surest pathway to Eternal Life in our heavenly home.

Grant me the grace to be raised to new life at every moment of each day, especially by prayer and my unreserved YES to your call to care for those in most need. With the victory won by faith, may I advance others’ journey by my surrender, perseverance, and loving service.

Work through me, that I may become the Risen Christ’s love incarnate for all those whom I meet along the way, that they may see and glorify Your Name.

    Amen.

    IHS – JESUITS

    Dear Lawd Gawd,

Please remove ALL unnecessary/unwanted thoughts and nonsense from my current/reincarnated lives and bring peace, joy, and happiness to my loved ones and me.

Help me to be a better Soul and guide me to know You and the Truth.

I ask this through your Son. Amen.

    Sincerely,

    Flynn, the Evil Kitty…

(Author’s note: I was trying to sleep unsuccessfully but lightly napped and felt rejuvenated after praying this request several times!)

During morning mass for “Our Lady of Guadalupe”, we messed up the singing. We tried to follow the invited guitarists but they were NOT really singing too loud for the rest of us to hear. Sister Sara wore a striped black/raspberry “poncho” and she also messed up the following three tunes:

    Las Mananitas

    Que linda esta la manana
    em que vengo a saluarte
    Venimos todos con gusto
    Y placer a felicitarte

El dia en gue to naciste
    Nacieron todas las flores
    En la pila de Baustismo
    Cantaron los ruisenores

    CORO

    Ya viene amaneciendo
Ya la luz del dia nos dio
    Levatate de manana
    Mira que ya amanecio

    Quisiera ser un San Juan
    Quisiera ser un San Pedro
    Pa darte los buenos dias
    Con la musica del cielo

    De las estrellas del cielo
    Tengo gue bajarte dos
    Una para saludarte
    Y otra para decirte adios

    Con jazmines y flores
    te venimos & cantar
Hoy por ser dia de tu fiesta
    Tegueremos felicitar

    Paloma Blanca

Adios, Madre del cielo, Madre del Salvador,
dulce prenda adorada, de mi sincero amor.
De tu divino rostro la belieza al dejar,
permiteme que vuelva tus pantas a besar.

*Off-topic rant: Again, the “cup” ministers didn’t wait until the “host” ministers got their swill. I drank the fruity/juicy wine and felt all dizzy later on. I may wish to serve more often to help relax my nerves.

It’s easier than singing and there’s no “rehearsals”, too. All I have to say is “the Blood of Christ”, which we all know is WINE. The same goes with the BREAD. But symbolically ancient people may have been cannibals, who may have eaten human FLESH and drank human BLOOD.

In my mind, I think the “lady” may have been a holographic image or a djinn or whatever.

[Make the sign of the cross.]

    Loving God,

We thank you for gathering us and for your holy presence. We come before you to offer our gift of music. Help us pray and sing our prayer. Help us lead your assembly in prayer. Please watch over each member of our choir and help us to never forget that you are the center of our worship and our lives.

Above all, enlighten us to understand the depth of your love for us, and to understand and feel the meaning of what we are singing, in that we may truly glorify your name and lovingly sing your praises. We ask this through Christ our Lord. Amen.

Most Sacred Heart of Jesus, have mercy on us.
Immaculate Heart of Mary, pray for us.
    St. Cecilia, pray for us.

[Make the sign of the cross.]

A few days ago, I picked up a copy of this novena/prayer from one of the table near the vestibule. I could have scanned the page but decided to type and pray at the same time.

St Jude | Desperate Situations & Hopeless Cases

    Novena To St. Jude

Most holy Apostle, St. Jude, faithful servant and friend of Jesus, the Church honors and invokes you universally, as the patron of difficult cases, of things almost despaired of, Pray for me, I am so helpless and alone.

Intercede with God for me that He bring visible and speedy help where help is almost despaired of. Come to my assistance in this great need that I may receive the consolation and help of heaven in all my necessities, tribulations, and sufferings, particularly – (make your request here) – and that I may praise God with you and all the saints forever.

I promise, O Blessed St. Jude, to be ever mindful of this great favor granted me by God and to always honor you as my special and powerful patron, and to gratefully encourage devotion to you. Amen.

    PRAYER

May the Most Sacred Heart of Jesus be adored, and loved in all the tabernacles until the end of time. Amen.

May the Most Sacred Heart of Jesus be praised and glorified now and forever. Amen.

St. Jude pray for us and hear our prayers. Amen.

Blessed be the Sacred Heart of Jesus
Blessed be the Immaculate Heart of Mary
Blessed be St. Jude Thaddeus, in all the world and for all Eternity.

(Say this prayer, followed by the Our Fatherd and the Hail Mary).

At 11:44 we left home for to attend the “Celebration of the Lord’s Passion until 1500! God!

Anyway, after each station… we recited: “The Way of the Cross” from 1100 to 1130.

    Where your there when:

    1. the judge condemned my Lord
    2. he carried forth the beam?
    3. he fell beneath its weight?
    4. he saw his Mother weep?
    5. they called for Simon’s help?
    6. Veronica wiped his face?
    7. he fell again in pain?
    8. the women mourned from him?
    9. he fell yet once again?
    10. they stripped him of his clothes?
    11. they nailed him to the cross?
    12. he yielded up his soul?
    13. they took his body down?
    14. they laid him in the tomb?

Then we listened to “The Seven Last Words” by seven lecturers from 1130 to 1215:

    1. “Father forgive them, they know not what they do.” ~Luke 23:33-34.
    2. “Today you will be with me in Paradise.” ~Luke 23:42-43.
    3. “Woman, behold, your son… Behold, your mother.” ~John 19:26-27.
    4. “My God, my God, why have you forsaken me?” ~Mark 15:33-34.
    5. “I thirst.” ~John 19:28-29.
    6. “It is finished.” ~John 19:30.
    7. “Father, into your hands I commend my spirit.” ~Luke 23:44-46

Then from 1230 to 1500, we listened to the “Liturgy of the Word”, participated the “Adoration of the Holy Cross” (of which I touched my forehead to the middle of the plain wooden cross located up front instead of kissing/wearing down the lacquer – Eww!), and received Holy Communion afterwards.

Father Mike, Shawn (who presided over the Station of the Cross), Paul (who helped with the Adoration of the Cross for the disabled) and the Iloco (who Prayer of the Faithful) celebrated. Father Mike was REALLY good/thorough and sang REALLY nice, too.

Here are some fundamental thoughts for all followers of CHRIST (aka “Christians”):

“But for me as a Christian, it also coincides with Jesus’s teaching that “for unto whom much is given, much shall be required.”  It mirrors the Islamic belief that those who’ve been blessed have an obligation to use those blessings to help others, or the Jewish doctrine of moderation and consideration for others.”

“To answer the responsibility we’re given in Proverbs to “Speak up for those who cannot speak for themselves, for the rights of all who are destitute.” And for others, it may reflect the Jewish belief that the highest form of charity is to do our part to help others stand on their own.”
