A form of literature that uses aesthetic and often rhythmic qualities of language.
Take Eight, Thirteen at Twenty-two won
Find Nine next to Eleven then One
Where God alive
Within numbered Five
Thirteen before and after Four sun
Seven centered from bottom to top
With number Nine at the second stop
With Three on one side
And Nine right beside
With Five nearby as a godsend prop
Two futile samples at limerick poetry.

Freaking triple trails!
Streaking their white clouds like snails
Crisscrossing assails
Many layers of contrails
Cover light blue skies by bails
Steak burrito males
Flush red cheeks of young lad wails
Smiled at voiceless fails
Flirts nearby while cleaning fails
Laugh at pics — double cross sails
X mark the spot nails
Over three towers — travails
Sticky sight entails
Leaving skies in white wash veils
Sylphs work overtime prevails!
Superstitious sales
‘Friday the 13′ details
Symbolic tall tales
Eagle flag and lizard tails
Justice balancing her scales

An Eden eye left
Garden of den rags bereft
Adam in the cleft
Eve-ning of fish fillet deft
Adonai’s A-B-O theft
Another attempt at tanka poetry in monorhyme.

I don’t freaking care!
About acquisition dare
Worthiness despair
Cubicle holes to compare
Layoffs severances scare
Roll my eyeballs spare
Three meeting of bull on chair
Place of hate: I swear!
Toils and troubles can’t repair
Hard work not answered unfair
New manager air
In my face to me outstare
My dry tears of glare
Talking of past nonsense share
Mock my pulling out their hair
Yawn with utmost flair
Encourage new job affair
Make more money there
Boredom of a millionaire
Happy as a solitaire

Work:
Working very slow
Two hours overtime dough
Credit back cards owe
Nature:
Flowering buds grow
Red berries, small flowers low
Short tree branches bow
Crispy cold winds blow
Long, black hair whispering throw
Frozen without snow
Twinkle star lights show
Diamond crystals aglow
Light years long ago
Late, sleepy thoughts know
Evening skies deep indigo
Deep blue sunset glow
Four more samples of tanka in monorhyme.

Wore HP to bed
Placed zapper on tummy from head
Crown energy spread
Twice jolted from heartfelt shed
More relaxed and pains have fled
Good morning to jolts
Thankful for these blessed bolts
Laziness revolts
A reminder to awake up volt
Kick start day from unknown colts
Two more samples of tanka in monorhyme.

20070410:
Monday evening drawn
Black copter bright headlight on
Car visor down drawn
Peeped while others looked up-on
Post office hover not gone
20070410:
Tuesday morning clear
Second kind NWW steer
Blue front with white rear
Normal day nothing to cheer
Awaiting for a new career
20070411:
Morning of grayness
Northbound 101 no stress
Same NWW press
Paired ducks flying fast express
Away from airport transgress
Evening of coolness
Beyond backyard bless
Winds blowing distress
Two birds playing finesse
Branches alight with success
Four more samples of tanka in monorhyme.

Amoeba thoughts josh!
Puddles sit on hooded slosh
Rainy gray clouds wash
Dust from streets and cars awash
Umbrella purse through the slosh
Gray overtones quash
Fluffy clouds appear and squash
With wispy panache
Cumulous without the mosh
Freezing early spring yet posh
Two more samples of tanka in monorhyme.

‘LeNaval’s clearance
Mine higher though
‘Fancy’s appearance
Eccentric show
Europhile highbrows
Real at stakes
‘Babel’ thumping cows
Baphomist takes
God’s children in jail
Like my granny
For taking the nail
His uncle’s pee
Broken hearted aunt
Dead drummer boy
Bad mouth aunt does haunt.
‘Maw!’ We’ll destroy!
Dead leather offense
Fat ass user
‘I’ll be back’ nonsense
Papered loser
Borrow my hard work
Per chat online
From a lowly clerk
And archive mine
Learn from advices
Conquer, divide
Freedom devices
Slip forget slide

Can’t grow, won’t awake.
SWAT the flies, Sensei to take!
Jokers laughing fake?
If I find out, my mistake!
And unknown JB partake?
Calling out: Lamb’s sake!
Breaking me with a heartache
Bugling sounds shake
How dare you toy with me – snake!
Mad felt mind of lost stress quake
Thoughts of happy break
Take my palm, don’t forsake
Boosts sent to my stake
Reaping rewards with my rake
Standing by for a fair break
Three more samples of tanka in monorhyme.

Evil shape of cube
Siphon love light through dark tube
Spin faster with lube
Love shaped like five stars
Light beings inside time jars
Stop illusion’s scars
Two more samples of tanka in monorhyme.

Morning e-mail:
Former boss to sway
Co-workers pending buffet
Time to pave the way
Start anew with higher pay
Email pending meet one day
Afternoon nail:
Triple ‘Sickos’ say
Informal questions convey
More like spies survey
Who will stay or go away?
I’ll be quitting by justice way
Late evening wail:
Working hard dismay
Updating my resume
Must go out and play
Over six years of delay
Over ten years of slave prey
Three more samples of tanka in monorhyme.
[Yawn to a good morning (4/10) to ‘belated’ humor of head pressure… sheesh — thanks!]
