  • 20090507-Poor Communication

A short poem describing a present-day karma for a past reincarnated life of being outspoken.

    • I am cursed to silence.
      • Nice for being quiet.
    • I don’t talk at work.
      • Invisible, yet hard-working.
    • I carry myself too seriously.
      • Humorless and too aloof to approach.
    • I can’t hear well.
      • Annoyed at repeating last sentence.
    • I can’t think fast.
      • Impatient waiting for an answer.
    • I am like my ‘Paw’.
      • And ‘Maw’ continues to berate.

Now who is blessed: You or me? Why can’t y’all ACCEPT me for who I AM?

  • 20081208-Christmas Card

An image of my first X-mas card for this year 2008.
    Holiday Card 20081208

I love the glitter and scrollworks, too.
A fine thank you card from friends like you.

May your holidays be full of all the season’s delight!
    Merry Christmas

    On red sleigh flight

    My deepest gratitude for all
    you’ve done… Bless you!

    always: You’re awesome, Sun!

Author’s note: This is the first time I used the blockquote feature for the messages contained inside this Christmas card and kept end rhyme as usual for these couplets.

  • 20071031-Rumbling Thoughts

Angered thoughts of death and dying
    Destroy the noisy elder Maw
    Inner struggle, silent crying
    Annoy her patient elder Paw

    I don’t care anymore.
    Nothing matters at all.
    I am nothing to you.
    Nothing is left for hate.
    I am finished with love.
    Nothing is in my way.

Upstairs shower as my last straw
Eyes closed shut through mental sighing
Head held high and thoughts sent flying
    Heartfelt energy in the raw

    Back to the shower head
    Heard low rumbling of dread
    Felt a large truck coming?
    Earth shaking, ground numbing
    The back and forth motion
Up and down waves — ocean

‘Huwag mag galit ang Dios kasi ay mainit ang ulo nya.
Merong araw sa iyong lahat! Ito pag labasin insang lindol…’

Translation of couplet (last two lines of poetry) from Tagalog to English:

‘Don’t anger ‘God’ because her/my hot-headed temper has manifested in anger.
There is one day for everyone! This one manifested as an earthquake…’

Author’s note: First attempt at La’libertas‘ poem of 4-6-4-6-2 form.

Originally created on Sunday, November 04, 2007 8:51:41 PM about an earthquake measuring 5.6 magnitude on 2007-10-31 03:04:54GMT and located 8 kilometers (or 5 miles) NNE of Alum Rock, CA with coordinates of 37.432 -121.7769 9.2 per USGS website.

Of course, I was very angry again at Maw a few minutes prior to taking a shower upstairs when the earthquake occurred.

  • 20070720-Rambling On

To be in solitude is perfectly fine.
I share my daily thoughts through a blogging shrine.
To lead a simple life is on borrowed times.
My blogs, dreams and poems are hidden in rhymes.

There is nothing to hide except my own Truth.
My lonely mind is like an imprisoned youth.

Freedom of expression is a gift with wings.
People are unique and perfect in all things.
    Interconnectedness provides a good link.
Storytellers share how they feel and think.
To be in solitude is perfectly fine.
I share my daily thoughts through a blogging shrine.

To lead a simple life is on borrowed times.
My blogs, dreams and poems are hidden in rhymes.

Living simple differs from simply living —
To laugh, love, forget but always forgiving.
Blogging from the spectacular to mundane
Keep the bored alive and from going insane.
Dreams seem real from the subconscious mind state.
Some foretell good or bad as predictive fate.
Poetry is meant for the creative souls —
Who artfully weave words of rhythmic life’s goals.
To be in solitude is perfectly fine.
I share my daily thoughts through a blogging shrine.

There is nothing to hide except my own Truth.
My lonely mind is like an imprisoned youth.

Some choose a lone path for life placed on the shelf.
Be truly free, not alone, and by yourself
And like a child, fresh, innocence untainted
or your own friend with commonsense acquainted.
Learn to love who you are on the inside, too.
Accept the differences through your worldwide view.
Maybe when you are ready to understand
you will display your strength with a helping hand.
To be in solitude is perfectly fine.
I share my daily thoughts through a blogging shrine.

  • 20070605-Family Three

First comes God, the number one
    Father, Mother and the Son

Then comes you, the number two
Love myself as I love you

Then comes we, the number three
    Loving fully, willful free

Through the door with number four
Back with one for fun some more

A poem of four stanzas with seven syllables in monorhyme.

  • 20070529-Poetic Prose

    Fires brew of screeching swear.
    Cowards hide in earthen lair.
    Water flowing tear drops hair.
Fly girls dancing sylphs in air.
    React to nothing compare.
    Becoming more self aware.
Suddenly with wide eye stare —
    God is love and everywhere.

The poem above describes a natural progression in the form of elementals. From the base emotion of anger, there is the color of red. Anger, when raging out of control, does bring about the fear factor in all of us. This is portrayed as the brown earth providing a means of escape and where critters burrow and bury deep inside to hide from the anger. With the clear water of life, sadness washes away the devastation left behind by anger and fear. And joy is replaced as freedom from anger and fear once and for all by the wispy cloud formations in the blue skies.

The next four emotions describe yet another progression in the mind of imagination. A point in any matter is defined as a singular it.  An anti-matter, which is portrayed with disgust for not being true in the first place, is already defined yet incomparable. By reflecting anti-matter away from itself, there is a curiosity and a consciousness that when given enough data based on the first four emotions would meet with surprise and at that instant knowing and accepting that there is only One.

  • 20070516-Alpha Omega

    Singularity, nothingness
    To oblivion, point regress
    Alpha Unity within us
    To Infinity, our progress

    Serving darkness, Omega stress
    News sensation, hardliner press
    Loving freely, divinely bless
    Fighting battles, defining us

Two poems of two-lined stanzas with eight syllables in internal and monorhyme.

  • 20061125-Prayerful Poem

    Prayerful Poem:

Angel of death and angel of mercy
show unto my kindred folks the angel of fun.

Fighting and fun are not the same.
Finding lost love is not the game.

    There is no blame.
    There is no shame.

Angle of fun is of the sun
that warms the planet with its four golden sons.

  • 20061014-ByeBye BooBoo

    Goodbye BooBoo, color of blue
Send out our love for peace – be true.
May the Temple receive your form
Under the golden sun so warm.

A poem of four lines with eight syllables in monorhyme.

  • 20060926-Altered Cat

Image source: Created on Wednesday, June 20, 2007, 9:48:02 PM by Brat.
A photo showing a black and white cat with a funny face with a funny caption.

Am I a cat of black and white?
With eyes drawn round and wild with fright?

Where are we going in this car?
The back seat smells of smoking tar!

Oh my god! I’m a cat! Meow!
I am hungry. Please feed me now.

  • 20060920-Project Fear

I am fearful of the unknown.
I hated knowing there is fear.

I ran away from my true love.
I ran away from god – my god!

I am too naked to fight wars.
I am naked. This is the truth.

I served fear and stopped to wonder.
I served hatred and found no love.

I served others and loved myself.
I served myself and learned to live.

See no evil. Say no evil.
Hear no evil. Be no evil.

I am. We are. It’s all the same.
He said. She said. There is no blame.

P.S. Here is another poem to fill in my sleepless morning. I’ve read more articles by another teacher and wondered if I passed my tests so far. Silence is golden.

  • 20060906-Ask Nothing

    Ask the deaf.
         They hear nothing.
    Ask the blind.
         They see nothing.
    Ask the meek.
         They want nothing.
    Ask of me.
My answer is [left intentionally blank].

P.S. My apologies go to JB (Florida), MB (Senegal), GJ (OK) and any strangers for not chatting via Yahoo! Messenger. Toodles!
