    Greetings:
Happy Fourth everyone and welcome back to my long-winded attempt at creative writing. My apology is to my readers for not providing feedback of my boring and simple life. The recovery of my flare-ups has been painfully slow and now I am able to sit longer hours in front of the computer.

During my downtime, I find composing poems more enjoyable and challenging than storytelling via my blogs, which may at times be more revealing than necessary to the billions of souls. My recent discovery of different poetry schemes, or types, has allowed me to create better ones by revising my original masterpieces, which are now deleted from this blogging service.

    Future Choice:
So far, this long weekend holiday helped me relax more and sleeping is all I did. I was with my bio-units by walking around the mall and doing various errands. After much chatting with this older guy, I have realized that I cannot live with my bio-units forever. I may have to take a big risk and move, say, over to Florida where better opportunities await me.

There are several reasons why I should choose to decide to leave my home of over three decades and build a new life elsewhere. One is that I’m not happy being single and would like to get married and raise a family. Two is that I have business endeavors that I’d like to pursue with a business minded man that I’ve met via a chatting service.

With my wanderlust attitude and global ideals, my choice would be perfect in this case. Traveling would be nice at least in the early part of the relationship and then I could start popping out those brats to see them through their adult lives. I’d make a great head of the house, which is the default for any ‘normal’ bio-unit.

I’d cook, clean and garden like a good mother and I’d kick, scream and cry like any normal postpartum and menopausal wife. I’d brave the storm of heated arguments with my spouse and relish the calm of romance with my love. As an idealist, I expect my long-term earth mate to behave to my every bidding and conform to my desires.

The fireworks of today were watched at the comfort of my home on televised programming as I made two batches of crepe dough. The dough is best strained to remove those lumps. While Maw and Paw cleaned up the dinner table and did the dishes and trash, I proceeded to make about two dozen wraps for Maw to stuff with her vegetables. A copter buzzed our house at 09:30PM.

    Stupid Letter:
And as I blog, Maw continues to talk long distance with Cling, her sister-in-law, about a letter we received from that uncle Dead from the East Bay. Maw has revealed what a bunch of idiots my relatives are for allowing their lack of motivation to help each other in times of need. It seems that Malnorm needs a driver and Dead, who lives the closest to this sister, expects the rest of his siblings and other relatives to take turns in the responsibilities.

The siblings, of course, have their own lives to live and none is completely close to each other to care for the other; since there is no monetary compensation either to motivate anyone to volunteer their time or effort. The letter was simply unwarranted and shows how unintelligent and selfish some people are, no matter how tiring or altruistic the driving efforts may be to some people.

The point is that the couple, Malnorm and that deceased Allbutt, did not prepare for their old age. Now this is plain dumb and anyone reading this blog better go to their legal or financial representative and discuss their future before death comes knocking at the doors. The ‘loved ones’ will not have to suffer much because the documents drafted would be handled by professionals, by the way.

While sitting at the McDonald’s place this morning with my bio-units and while other ‘watchers’ heard our conversation, my most obvious opinion would be for the old hag to sell her house, which she refuses. This would allow her to spend the money, find a living assistance community to avoid being scared in her now empty house and avoid depending on her siblings for free rides to visit the dead man’s grave and the doctor’s appointments or to attend parties or masses.

The worse case scenario is to stick the old hag into a nursing home just as the three daughters have done to their old mother, whom we visited this Monday evening. This is karma well deserved for the eldest daughter who mistreated the old lady. Now that the old hag has no where else to turn, this is what is coming to her. The siblings may mistreat her just as she has done to her own mother.

    Visiting Granny on 07-02-2006:
We visited old Granny from 06:15PM to 08:00PM. I awoke her with a snapshot of her sleeping form underneath a candy cane striped bed cover of red and white color. She smiled with her nice grin and tufted up white hair, which I later combed after finding it somewhere in the small drawer underneath the television.

She ate our fried chicken, fried fish, steamed rice and watermelon immediately and I took pictures of this event. I gave her my green tea, pear flavored breath mint which she did not seem to like. I took her picture again which shows the mint through her grin. There was another snapshot of her making the L@!n#z trademark ‘fish face’ by puckering up the lips towards the nose.

I am disgusted with my aunties and I know Granny is going to die there soon because nursing homes only watch, feed and assist the residents, unlike the hospitals where there is medical treatment available when necessary. I’ve heard that her kidneys may be failing and may be the cause for her swollen foot.

She has a swollen left foot and, according to the nurse, no one addressed the problem. Granny doesn’t remember how she got it but flinched from pain when Maw touched the inside ankle in front of the nurse, who later gave old Granny two over the counter pain killers.

As a matter of fact, all her toenails have not been trimmed or polished! This is disgusting! Only her fingernails were painted with this fuchsia color so people could see how presentable she looks. I took several pictures of her feet too for my archive.

Furthermore, Granny has edema, which is excessive fluid, around her swollen ankles. Maw pushed in the area beneath the left calf and the imprints of her fingers stayed on the flesh. Also, Granny smelled of urine, especially in the hair. I am not happy about the condition of this woman and wonder if the daughters have time for her anymore.

She is not completely with dementia and does retain some long term memories. For several times, she recalls from long ago in her province that a batoo, or stone, landed on her right index toe, which she tried to explain as being twice its size and that Brat is taking classes in the escuela, or school.

More pictures were taken, including the words I wrote on the Mother’s Day card. This picture has been uploaded to my blog around that time. I am sure the people who taped up that big card on Granny’s wall understood my message of the underlined words of ‘remember.’

As we escorted the old woman out the lobby, we were intercepted by a couple who does prayers and gives communions. They are in league with my other nasty auntie, Mallow. We left old Granny with the couple. The wife is a known chismosa, or gossiper, and we left right away.

The stupid part is the minds of both Granny and another old lady is not there. Both old people are hard of hearing and that is sad because the words of the Lord sure fell on deaf ears on these two that day!

    Summary:
Freedom is always there ringing in my ears during the past month with head pressures being very unbearable and stuffy as I try to live normal life in front of the computer at work as a pod person and at home as a novice poet and writer. I am hopeful for better days ahead.

Freedom is always there for the smart people who know how to live their lives independently without the assistance of others. Being nice is good only up to a certain point before the welcome disappears. There is still a chance for people to prepare for the worse.

Freedom is always for the young at heart and we made old Granny laugh in spite of her sentiment of not being to leave the nursing home and live with her eldest daughter, Malnorm. The chance of being loved by the few is priceless and this is true freedom.

  • 20060520-Friendly Brat

Today has been mostly gray clouds over the whole Bay Area and not a single drop of rain fell. The air is cold and crispy as I looked above to see the Sun with its nice halo. There are some wispy clouds behind and that is enough to convince me that today will be another fine Saturday.

We are frying fish outside the char broiler and the propane tank has enough fuel for many more fun filled days. The first one is catfish and the second one is tilapia, a popular Asian fish. I prefer tilapia because it’s meatier compared to the smelly catfish, which reminds me of old men with whiskers. There are three green chili peppers and a slab of meat being cooked also.

At around 10:29AM, there were two black colored copters that flew from a southwest direction towards a northeast direction into the distance of Mt. Hamilton, CA. I do not know why they would make their presence known DIRECTLY over my home or my parents’ house.

Yesterday and today, there were lots of light planes making their presence known in my airspace also. I never flew inside a light plane before and would assume that it’s too loud inside. Besides, I did mention in my previous blogs that my tummy doesn’t like the feeling of free falling.

I took pictures of both copters; the gray clouds; the Sun’s halo and some birds with my CB in the background. This goes to show that my life as a novice writer and warrior, a dedicated hard worker and slave and a simple person and human, could be described as being none other than a Friendly Brat.

My purpose in this lifetime is to observe the events unfolding in my immediate surroundings and learn all that I could and to take all the trials and errors that I could possibly encounter and make life both fun and enjoyable.

Today should be another example of how there seems to be lots of wool being pulled over everyone’s eyes. The wool, in my opinion, could be fear, which I felt as my hand shook from excitement when I messaged Brat about the two copters flying above.

The increase in police activities on the roads and in the skies and in spectacular headlines that seem to focus on negativity are examples of more wool that should not make us feel cold from fear like ice cold tea or lemonade but should keep us warm like sweaters knitted by loved ones.

I would like to remind everyone that the mundane events have many positive outcomes on a daily basis that do not always make the headlines. This brat wants to make sure that the senses of new and old thinking in each and everyone are being tickled in a friendly manner.

Once again, I would like to subscribe to the great comedy of life and allow everyone to discover that laughter is the best medicine. Besides, if we all want to one day meet our Maker, I would prefer to know that many great smiles have resulted from people who could make a difference in all that is good.

  • 20060309-Not Annoying

Dark heavy rain clouds of gray and black colors started brewing over Mt. Hamilton when I left work tonight at 17:00PM Pacific Time. The rain has not yet fallen as I came home around 17:30PM Pacific Time.

I saw lots of white specks of flying objects against these huge purple masses of puff. These birds are too far away to been seen by me as I drove home in my Mustang. These are birds, perhaps seagulls, and they ride the cold air.

The definite smell of rain was in the air. And later about and hour or so, the rain fell. Here is my take on how anything unusual or out of the ordinary in my reality should not be so annoying. These events are real and are in no particular order. And action!

    Road Warriors-Take One:

Blue station wagon: The only unusual sight tonight was this broken down blue station wagon without at least one hubcap that didn’t belong to my neighborhood. The driver was fat and was driving very slowly past a cul-de-sac. I had to go around to its left to avoid hitting that car because I thought the car was not working properly. Then after two minutes from getting out of my car to stepping indoors to my home, he sped off fast in the opposite direction towards the railway intersection.

Light tan van: Last weekend, I saw a light tan colored van parked at that yellow fire hydrant and with a guy holding up his camera from the driver seat. He was about to take my picture from my second story bedroom window but I smiled to him, closed the blinds and mentally said, ‘No, Thank you.’ He sped off fast towards the railway intersection.

Small white car: This occurred on 11-24-2004 at 08:00AM. There was one small white car with a white man wearing sunglasses and sitting inside while reading a newspaper. Brat and I were about to leave for work in the morning. So I ran upstairs to grab my camera and noticed from my bedroom window upstairs that he tilted his head ever so slightly to his left in a kind of sideways fashion as if listening. I went outdoors to take a closer look but didn’t take a quick picture of his license plate holder with the word Oakland written on top. He sped off fast northbound after Brat opened up the automatic garage door.

Various: Dramas viewed from inside our house occur such as: lovers fighting and brawling loudly at the same intersection; domestic disputes across and next door to us; the big red fire engine sounding off a celebration of someone’s birthday (right after the September event years ago; parked cars with people inside looking at kids play (sickos) or watching other peoples’ houses (weirdos); big trailer rigs being moved every 48 hours along different parts of this stretch of road; numerous cars going in and out of this other cul-de-sac for over ten years now and accidents occurring as we look outside from our windows in amazement.

Noisy ones: Strange vehicles seem to want to make their mark in the world by making circles with their on my road during full moons. I saw one that drove a blue car and he looked Asian. Others are the artistic vehicles, such as cycles, riders and rockets, are museum quality and should be presented at those shiny car shows.

Sitting ducks: People inside their vehicles would park along my normal or other routes to work. They would pull out from their original position immediately leaving dust in their wake or slowly after my passing approximately one block away. They would follow not too far behind me, of course. I change lanes; they change lanes. They tailgate; I brake somewhat hard. It’s like a cat and mouse game. And I still wonder why they do that to me.

Other ducks: Workers on the road provide clear signals as I pass by their location. They’d flash their oranges services lights, blink their intention to move into faster moving traffic or eve put out their orange construction cones on the road. This would be fun to image that I’m popular without having to try. Maybe my Mustang is bugged over and needs a good car wash soon.

    Air Waves-Part Two:

Jet planes: Jet planes are flying over way in the distance somewhere is heard and has been going on for the past fifteen minutes now. The lions roar from these engines is very distinct. These military activities happen when there are dark rain clouds above. I do not know why they would practice at night. And I’m not aware of any air show. They stopped their fly-bys around 07:47PM Pacific Time.

Passenger planes: Passenger planes operate almost directly overhead everyday. The closed windows provide some relief against the noise. SJC currently has noise-based curfew hours from 23:00PM to 07:00PM Pacific Time (for FAR 36 Stage II aircraft). This noise reduction curfew is good for the sake of both sleeping residents indoors and denizens outdoors.

Light Planes: Light planes operate almost everyday. These would fly over rain clouds and the distinct smell of metal would linger in the air. The humming noise of light planes reminds me of the Malathion spraying done by these planes over our neighborhood and other places during that fruit fly epidemic back in the 1980’s. That’s when these mysterious flu-like symptoms started appearing.

Helicopters: Flying black helicopters appear occasionally. The rotary noise is distracting but the new models could switch to silent mode. Sometimes these copters would hover over our house or pause about a block away. Usually these would fly around the neighborhood with their search lights at night looking for whatever or whoever was below the area.

Helicopter lights: Sometimes helicopters would acknowledge my location by flashing their bright light in my direction (without blinding me, of course). But I don’t recall getting their attention by jumping up and down in foolish excitement outdoors or by waving to them from our windows.

    Passing By-Part Three:

Spare change: During our first few years here, we had a person come to our door asking for help and didn’t know what to do. I think he was lost too. It was daylight. My bio-units gave him some change and he was never seen again.

Two thugs: Brat and I were young and playing at night in the living room. Then all of the sudden we heard the doorknob rattle and some knocking. We stopped knowing Maw won’t be home until later past midnight. I looked out the window and to the right saw two white men in beards. I was scared and called Maw at work. Brat stuck his tongue out at them as I made the call. She called the neighbor and they came over. The two men were never seen again.

Smoking guy: Years ago-almost twice, I noticed this one guy walking towards the railway intersection. Each time he would light up his cigarette under this now blinking on and off streetlight next to the house across from us. The second time was at 03:00AM Pacific Time and this time there was a dog walking with him. I stopped to look down from the top of the stairways out the window and he looked up after successfully he lit that cigarette. The lights were off from inside the house because that is the only way I could see clearly outside into the darkness without the three light bulbs from the ceiling reflecting back from the upstairs window. There was no way he could have noticed as I stared from up there. He was never seen again.

Lost lady: A few years ago, there was this brunette-haired lady. It was daylight. My bio-units came home and had the garage door open. Maw came inside to the kitchen after talking to the lady and told me the lady was lost and the bus didn’t arrive. The nearest bus stop that I know at that time was a good fifteen minute walk. Maw said that the lady needed a taxi cab; so I call one and told the operator that this lady walked a quarter mile and ended up asking us for help. We waited for the cab. I “waved” my right hand at her and she seemed to have buckled forward as if she was about to fall. She got in the cab and was never seen again.

    Epilogue:

I feel like a mother hen roosting on her nest of eggs as she watches out for any possible sign of potential danger in and around her neighborhood. Being a neighbor is a responsibility and called the emergency a few times when I could have called the information line instead. I get annoyed at myself for not knowing how to better handle situations that don’t always happen. It’s not so annoying though knowing we as helpers are always watching each other and the neighborhoods we live.
