20250426-1838. Behold! Moments ago, I just refreshed the Jetpack Boost for an Overall Score of “A” and with a perfect 100 for both Mobile (or 96 without the paid upgrade) and Desktop views!

I’ve switched back to theme Blank Canvas, because I really needed the load-time/responsiveness for my weblog site to be PERFECT! Alas, I know this would be temporary probably.

For y’all see, I’ve gotten an error message:

So I do NOT know what is happening!

Anyways, I colored-in the Titles with dried maroon, stone cold and dark-blue again!

For the left Header/sidebar column, I colored-in the background/text in dark-blue/stone cold.

For my KJV audio bible project, I’ve created a new Navigation menu for the 66 KJV audio bible pages and sorted alphabetically for my quick-reference and while listening to that Live show/Video guy whenever he happens to live stream.

I placed that newly-created Navigation block inside the Details block towards the top of the Header; because there is still NO title-attribute for Navigation blocks, I guess.

I set the text sizes to the Site Title block and the Site Tagline block to XXL (double-extra large) and L (large), respectively.

I set the Navigation block of my main six static pages to Always Overlay/hide behind the triple-burger icon instead of the default double-burger icon; because nobody really clicks on anything/the links – anyways.

The whole day was cloudy except during our mid-afternoon/post lunch power nap when the sunshine came out strongly and brightly. I prayed as usual and then busied myself with my weblog again.

We had rain last night! I heard barely something that sounded like rain last night. But because my hearing is NOT great, I brushed/shrugged it off.

But when I opened the backdoor black iron grill this morning, I noticed the wet spot from one of the main rain gutter from the second/two story level. I walked-over to that area and saw that the left-over “puddle” upon our concrete was indeed rain water.

And I was glad that we got rain; because I’m hoping that our wildflower seeds for bees and hummingbirds would sprout/thrive.

I never did plant this sort in my life; and I’m wondering how the spirits would be appeased with this outdoors project.

20250426-1217. Welp, and just like clockwork, I tried theme Twenty-Twenty but my Jetpack Boost scored a letter grade of “C”.

So I tried the latest theme Modernist but something slowed down my weblog site while in side-editor mode.

So I tried theme Reblog and liked the stability of the elements but I just wasn’t feeling it.

So I tried theme Memorphia again and I just wasn’t feeling it.

So I’m trying LowFi again using the Lush/dark green color palette.

The temperatures are cold. The skies are cloudy but I could see the bluish skies behind whitish clouds. The rains came last night. This helps to water my wildflower seeds. Thanks!

20250425-0004. Good midnight, chumps! Behold! I’ve come full circle. Now I’m trying theme Twenty Twenty, just like John Jr, I think; because I have NOT visited his site in a while and maybe liked a recent post of his.

What I like about this OLD theme are the chunks! There are lots of customized chunks!

1. Site Identity. Site Logo and Site Tagline. Retina Logo. Hide Footer Credit.
2. Color. Background from f5efe0 to presidential stone cold E8E6E0. Header and Background color from 000000 to presidential dark blue 151A30. Primary Color is some sort of pinkish color.
3. Theme Options. I like the “Show search in header”. There is a “Show author bio”. On archives pages, posts show Summary.
4. Cover Template. I do NOT know what is the purpose. There is an Overlay Background Color of 10771a. I changed the color to default d61347.
5. Merriweather for Headings font at Regular and Normal Size. Meriweather Sans for Base Font at Normal Size. I like curly fonts and this is the closest font.
6. Background image is my OLD bamboo image.
7. I’ve deleted Menu (old way) and Navigation (new way) to help speed up my site. Desktop Expanded Menu, Mobile Menu. This is the only logical place for my four featured pages/OLD sites! Plus, this is the only way to access the KJV audio bibles/chapters for Desktop and Mobile view. I liked how the Desktop Expanded Menu fly-out from the right to reveal my four pages/OLD sites!
8. Desktop Horizontal Menu. Actually, I’m down to five static pages! So this menu is for my five static pages.
9. Social Menu. This menu displays my Social Media accounts, which I have NOT really updated in a while.
10. Footer Menu. This menu displays a descriptive link to subscribe to my WP reader feeds.
11. I checked all the Content Options for Post Details and Featured Images, which I really do NOT use.
12. Footer Widgets: Footer #1 for Blogroll. Footer #2 for Social Media. I know the Social Media is duplicated but I have nothing else to add here.
13. The home pages settings are my Latest posts.
14. Additional CSS. I have NOT yet used this feature. I used to tweak the CSS stylesheets before the Gutenberg blocks.
15. Related Posts. Now this area is full of extra chunks. Come to think of it, Related Posts seem to function similarly to my WP Random Post Inside plug-in. I think there is a block for Related Posts but I’m NOT sure because I haven’t really used it!

That’s all for now. My weblog site looks normal enough on Desktop web browser view and on the Jetpack app for iPhone/iOS. I especially like how the Search slides-down from the top, too! I think this theme is a keeper because I really can’t design and do NOT like the “plainness” of my versions; whereas theme Twenty Twenty has some curly separators, too.

Unfortunately, the Jetpack Boost for Mobile view is lower at 91 (or 82 without the paid upgrade); while the Desktop view is holding steady at a perfect score of 100.

20250424-1842. Behold! I give up! I’ve been wanting to clutter my weblog with everything. But I was getting stressed-out because I’m NOT happy with the layout (again)!

Firstly, I reduced the size of the “titles” from the presidential 6rem to XXL, (because I did NOT like how the longer titles were wrapping-around to the next line), colored the thick 11px borders with presidential maroon and set the background/text colors to presidential dark blue/stone cold! I liked the red, blue and white color palette!

Then I played around with the left sidebar column/header area and tried a combination of blocks: Details of KJV chapters, Categories List, Search and Page List.

I soon realized that the site-editor template view slowed-down drastically! So I had to remove the HUGE Details of KJV chapters, which included 66 hand-crafted Navigation menu items/links!

After removing the tons of bible chapter links, the site-editor template view behaved much better! Then I stuck-back the Categories List block (which includes my 66 KJV audio bible “pages”, my OLD and new blogs and my four OLD sites, the Search block and the Page List blockj, which is down to six main pages!

I had to force myself to “settle” for six main pages because the other static pages are just links to each other and are being handled by the “categories” posts!

Had I NOT discovered the Categories List block and its versatility of “forcing” my categories to assume the function of my hand-crafted static pages, I would NOT have stream-lined my blog further!

Now I should be happy again but maybe temporarily. I had a difficult but fun time tweaking the templates. I had created separate templates for Categories Archives and Tags Archives, but I soon realized that the Index template, along with the Archives Title block, picked up the functions of the the categories, tags, dates, and whatever else!

But I had to “settle” on this one-for-all template and had NO choice but to set the Query Loop block to display the Excerpt block, which worked out VERY well. The Excerpt block functions almost like a Hero Content.

Unfortunately, I wanted to view an entire bible page after the selection of a Category. But because I didn’t want my blog post exposed in its entirety due to the set-up of the Index template, I had to set the Index template to display only excerpt, which unfortunately forces me to clicki the title block in order to view the entire bible page! I may have to replace the Excerpt block with the Content block!

So now my front home page displays the boring latest normal traditional posts, which is being driven by the Index template, which assumes the role as All Archives template. So now I’m down to five templates. Three are default: Index, Page and Single Post. Two are Error Page 404 and Search Results.

I think my site will be more behaved and probably faster this way.

I just regenerated the Critical CSS and now my Jetpack Boost scores are 94 and 100 for mobile and desktop, respectively.

20250423-2310. Welp, I really do NOT know what I-AM doing! I tried briefly theme Retrospect and applied ALL the theme’s templates to my Blank Canvas templates. Now I have the traditional two-column design! I got tired of scrolling up and down from the Desktop view.

So in order to pull-off this design, I had to shorten my long Page List to just six main pages: ABOUT, CONTACT, FEATURES, FRONT-COVER, BLOG HOME and Projects.

The Footer has been modified and still displays the two other main Static Pages (Privacy Policy and Terms of Use) which I couldn’t squish/shouldn’t place into the modified header/left sidebar column.

For the 66 KJV audio bible Static Pages, these are still viewable AND in conjunction with the Categories List, which is a clone/mirror of these original uploaded Static Pages.

For the 4 OLD sites/project Static Pages, these are accessible through the Projects page.

This is how much of a nightmare my original/plain old Flynn’s Blogs has evolved to include God’s Words. Truly a freaking nightmare.

Now I can’t decide if I want to keep the two-column design. But I have no choice because I can’t squish the Categories List block into the Header. Plus I got tired of the dark blue color and kept at least the presidential feel in the Footer.

20250423-1334. Greetings, chump! The sun is shining. The temperature is in the low 60s.

Earlier this morning, I ate my chicken wraps and SumoCitrus. Later on, I took more supplements. But I feel like I’m not getting enough nutrients; because I could feel the corners of my mouth acting up. I’m trying to stay hydrated as worked on our north-western facing area of maintenance.

I watered the wildflower seeds located at the base of two of our Saratoga Laurel trees, meaning the corner lot/property owner pays for the city-approved trees with permits.

Then I swept-up the ongoing small dried Sycamore tree leaves gathers on the street gutter, which is our responsibility, including the street curb, city planter strip and the city sidewalk.

I then used my angled 56-inch wooden angled weed scraper/how for the smaller plant life forms cropping up in between the cracks and crevices of the our concrete and the city sidewalk.

I did NOT wear my protective gardening mask. Lo and behold! I got allergies and choked and did a few half-sneeze. Then later on, I used my saline solution bottle to flush out my nasal passages. This worked because I saw bits of long hair but NO grayish trails of dirt or bloody or green or yellow boogers, meaning I’m good/clean.

So I saw my cameras and the wind has been blowing since yesterday. Because I saw our OLD Callie lilies swaying strongly from the strong winds. I forgot to water the Callie lilies yesterday after seeing them swaying strongly form the strong winds and forced myself to water these flowers. Then I pulled some old drying non-blooming yellow oxalis ground covering flowers and some VERY small purplish flowers too.

20250423-0044. Well, I guess the dark text/link element against the stone cold background element worked out VERY well, along with just displaying my three latest posts.

The Jetpack Boost Mobile and Desktop scores are the highest ever at 99 (or 96 without the paid upgrade) and 100, respectively!

Even with the Categories List in the Header being rather slow to load from the Site-Editor template views, the scores are impressive.

I guess this system is NOT good enough for low-end user like moi. I can’t squeeze more stuff into the header without triggering a white right-hand column of death, for example.

Only the “millionaires and billionaires” (á la Bernie Sanders) are afforded faster concierge services and other elitist amnesties.

I should be outraged and just go back to the free-loader, err free-bee plans and count my blessings that paying for all these upgrades helped me to at least learn (finally) how to navigate (comfortably) this platform and create/design my still imperfect weblog after all these years!

I’m still disappointed that I really do NOT know what I want or need in anything thus far.

20250423-0021. Okay, fine. I guess the Background Element of dark blue knocked out the links for two “pages”, where I changed the Text to the lighter stone cold color. I try to avoid changing the both background color and text color for the blocks; because I’m still too bored to stick around with one theme and would end up changing/sampling/switching the color palettes anyways!

And for whatever reason, the Link Element would NOT over-ride the Text color for the links that were knocked-out in the first place when the Background Element was set as dark blue!

So I went back into Site-Editor to reset the palette colors style. Now both the Text Element and the Link Element have the color of black and the Background Element has the color of stone cold, which should be good enough for those with eyeball problems but bad enough unto moi because I preferred the dark blue for the Background Element!

I just do NOT understand why resetting the background color and text color for the blocks would NOT inherit the global palette colors style!

A couple of days ago, I wondered to myself if there would be a switch for users to select either lighter/stone cold or darker/presidential blue styles! But for now, I guess WP won’t allow such ideas to manifest for users.

20250422-2210. Okay, fine. I’m trying to go minimalist with theme Loïc. The front home page displays my three latest posts.

This theme has four color palette schemes: Default medium greenish, Blueberry Milk purplish, Cloudy Brunswick light greenish, Jungle dark greenish, Mauve Gray brownish, and Nuit bluish.

I’m trying Mauve Gray which matches closely to the stone cold color of my Site Icon.

Other than that, I’m getting sleepy after eating too much for lunch and supper.

The Jetpack Boost scores are 91 (or 81 without the paid upgrade) for Mobile and 99 (or 98 without the paid grade) for Desktop.

I wonder if there a theme that promotes the Jetpack Boost scores for both Mobile and Desktop as 100!

20250422-1733. Welp, today was weird. After trying theme Observer, I’m trying theme Batch. But I had to go grocery shopping with my elderly father, where I goofed/missed scanning two items at COST. The receipt checker caught two missing items and looked at me, and I told her that the total items are 21.

So she counted it and the supervisor brought us over to check-out the missing items. But en route back to one of the check-out stand, Gloria S saw me and hugged both of us. But we couldn’t talk and I asked her how is Carlos. We took a while to meet up with the supervisor.

I had a little trouble with my smartwatch, which is on my right wrist. And because I’m right-handed and because I wear my smartwatch face on the “bottom” of my wrist, I would have difficulty pivoting my weaker, less dominant left hand to double-click the two side buttons, which are easier to double click had I worn my smartwatch in my left wrist and on the “top” of my wrist.

But because, y’all allowed a gout-like cyst to form on my inner radial left wrist (after three repeated banging upon the bone last November 2024 and while fuming in anger at my elderly father and while unloaded grocery food from COST), I can’t wear normally my smartwatch on left wrist.

Until y’all allow my healing, that would be nice. I do NOT know how to pray.

So my dad thank you in his language to the supervisor and she relied in her language, too. He also said the same thank you to the receipt checker who was really good (and passed my randomized spiritually-tagged/targeted individual “auditing”). But she didn’t reply because I told my dad later on en route to our car that she isn’t our people and probably Thailand.

Anyways, after eating our late lunch and our caramel tres leche flan cake dessert, washing and drying the dishes, cutting my dad’s hair and taking our showers, I’m blogging about theme Batch.

I like the candy colors of theme Batch. There four color palettes: Default pinkish, Blueberry Scone, Butter Biscuit, and Lavender Cake. I plan to three the other three non-default color.

I’m still having trouble with sticking both the Archives and Categories List block in my header. And so I have opted to keep the Categories List block and loose the Archives block.

Strangely, I have to force the Category block to Full-Width because using either the Minimum or Maximum width would cause the white column of death on the right hand side from my iPhone.

So whatever is going on between my account, WP and or my other Apple devices is fucked-up. While using my dark blue presidential style on theme Blank Canvas, I do NOT recall having this much Header trouble.

20250422-0949. Hey, chumps! I like how theme Observer displays the Navigation menu items! The items are displayed closer together! Other default “hard-codes” of handling Navigation menu items seem too far apart. This time I could see the items are compact nicely.

There are six color schemes/styles: Default yellowish; Bacchanalia purplish; Ivorial bluish; Monotonal black and white; Saharian brownish; and TNMT greenish. I’m using the Monotonal to help increase my Jetpack Boost mobile score, which is at 92. The desktop score is at 99, which is probably due to the heavy load of two blocks: Archives and Categories List.

So I’m just leaving most of the theme’s template at default, except for the Blog Home template for my latest posts. I like trying out different layouts because I already got bored with the presidential version.

20250421-2117. Alas, the PURE EVIL empty white space column of death appeared on all three views: Display, Tablet and Phone! This is because I was tweaking my header!

For whatever reason the system got VERY angry unto moi. So I had NO choice but to remove the “to the pit” jump-page link from the Header and its counterpart jump-page link labeled “to the top”!

Now my Header is well-behaved. This time I tried yet another pre-designed Header pattern, which includes the following blocks: Site Logo, Site Title, Archive, Categories List and Navigation.

This time, I placed the Navigation block to the farthest right hand side of the Header. This placement made more sense because the Navigation display closes from the top-right hand corner icon X.

And so to make display more logical, I right-aligned the top navigation menu! So whenever I click/select the triple hamburger menu to open the display of the Search bar and all my Pages List, I could see the menu items nicely aligned to the right and underneath the close X-button, too!
