Use a custom domain name
I tried using my OLD registered domain via WordPress.com and came across the following annoyance:
This domain’s A-record is not pointing to Tumblr.
You need to change your domain’s A-record to:
66.6.44.4Then I tried typing the same/old Tumblr.com blog address and encountered this other annoyance:This subdomain’s CNAME is not pointing to Tumblr.
Please change the CNAME to:
domains.tumblr.com- It may take up to 72 hours to update. Please return to your Blog Settings after 72 hours and hit “Save.”
- You do not need to update your domain’s nameservers.
