  • Accept Sacrifice

While listening to the priest during this morning’s mass, my mind wandered again! I didn’t like how “God” would accept the sacrifices of FLESH and BLOOD. Then an imagery of White Wolf came into my mind’s vision. White Wolf came and offered its bloodied meat as an offering to me. It stood looking at me after dropping its kill on the white snow.

In yet another imaginary “vision” during morning mass last week or so, I heard how the prayers asked for mercy. I felt those words were not so empty as the voices of the parishioners (i.e. the rough-voiced Vietnamese “reptilian” guy directly behind me) saddened me deeply.

Despite their ardent sacrifices, which seem to be the OLD WAYS of asking for mercy, I cannot and could not foresaken those who continue the most despicable and heinous act of sacrifices. I hope they remember the true convenant wasn’t always that violent.

Well, it’s foggy, just like yesterday. If it’s foggy today, will the weather be hot later on, just like yesterday? (Last edited by FLYNN on 20110117 at 15:17:50 PM UTC)

Well, it’s still foggy and the three reports still didn’t come out! I tried three time and so far nothing! I may take an early lunch, cover my nose and head on out into the smelly outdoor air! (Last edited by FLYNN on 20110117 at 19:53:22 PM UTC)

Well, I just came back from my mid-afternoon walk around the block at my “temp job from hell”. The sunshine decided to come out after all! The skies are crispy, clear and blue with some brown muck in the distant horizon. The air was warm and still, meaning the breeze was not freezing. Thanks to my maroon-colored, acrylic sweater, my brown-color, hand-knitted matching hat and scarf by Maw and a brown-colored turtle-neck sweater, I kept warm! Now, I’m hot!

So during lunchtime, Theresa and I walked to get Starbucks drinks. It was my idea because the weather was beautiful! Anyway, her stories were weird. Mostly it was about her personal problems with her family.

One story was about how her brother insisted many times that she make Vietnamese spring rolls during New Year’s because noone would cook that day even though she was sick. One of her three daughter stood up for her and told her stupid uncle don’t let her cook. Of course, the brother got mad and made a big deal and/or scene.

She even told how her in-laws would dress up “wealthy”; how her daughters got on her case to dress up modern, too; how her own mother would claim to be VERY beautiful and smart in front of everyone; and how her husband doesn’t do much to help. I think the poor girl is going through a melt-down or something and she’d question “God” why she was being put through “hell”.

Next time I hear her complain about “going to hell” or “needing help”; I’ll throw it back into her face and tell her: “It’s your problem. You need to sever ties with those people who give your problems: Once you are married your family is your priority. If you can’t stand up against your own relatives, no one else could help you. You may need professional help in that case.”

She even went far as stating that she’d like to be reincarnated as a Native American princess and live in the forest and hope that I would incarnate in the next life to see her. She even inquired if I wanted to come back as a woman. In both instances, I didn’t give a clear answer but felt uncomfortable with this intelligent nutter.

With that said, I wonder why my Vedic astrology report is eerily reflective of my purpose: To encounter these nutballs and rebuff their problems!

At around 11:29pm last night, I heard twelve successive sounds coming from the next door neighbor. I thought that each single sound where gun shots. But they were steady until the 13th one of at leave five rapid fire works going off. This was during the few minutes of laying in bed.

Earlier and prior to retiring for the night, I had read an EY online article about Haiti; an earthquake machine and how the people have “special gifts”. I was thinking about the beautiful people and the children and saw in a news video long ago how they celebrated in the streets despite the aftermath of an “unnatural” disaster.

And that’s what give me hope in Haiti, the people and their ways, even if their “voo-doo” magicians do what is best — by holding their grounds and sending love to the planet and its inhabitants.

Day 17: Someone with whom you shared a friendship/relationship that simply drifted out of your life.

Let’s see. There is no particular “someone” that I’ve befriended or established a long-term relationships that simply drifted out of my life. Many such people are strangers, if not acquaintances at best, that know my name and where I live. So far I don’t really care to mention anyone because that’s how my life has been with people — mostly temporary and nothing dramatic to say the least.

Topic 18: What gives you hope? And what, if anything, makes you question hope? And what makes you question your questions of hope? And…

My “blind faith” in humanity gives me hope that one day people would wake up and realize how they have been duped into believing anything and everything thrown their way — aliens, gods, extremists, etc.

Since most people refuse to believe the answers from personal experiences or wise words from their elders or other testimonies of other people’s stories and continue their “blind fath” into new belief systems or popular trends, then my hope in humanity as a free-willed, independent creature is dimmed to nothingness — an emptiness of feeling and being alone.

Then again, I see that people pick up after themselves after a downfall. And that’s what give me hope in humanity as a whole. And just like nature going through periods of forest fires and new sprouts, I’m hopeful that the cycle of illusion will have been conquered and that people will learn to “just be there” for each other in times of need.

Sure, some act strange after their personal revelations while most rationalize that’s how life is and continue their daily routine as if nothing happened — “business as usual”, if you will. But I see that concept as another failure — humanity living in denial that everything and everyone is fine and dandy where pain and suffering exist on this planet.

So why is hope is good as being dead? Because while people continue to pray to an invisible god; while businesses continue to pledge their wealth to unknown recipients; while governments continue to corrupt their people and environment, I hope everyone dies a peaceful death and hope for nothing more than the release of their physical carbon-based forms.

  • Give Credit

    “Give me/us some credit!”

    ~Boy many times…

This morning Maw said something profound:

“You don’t need credit if you do something right.”

Day 16: A book you’ve read that changed your views on something.

Most of the books I’ve read has to be easy-to-read and no more than a couple of hundred of pages and in normal to large fonts. My impatient nature requires that I find how the book ends and hopefully the understand the whole book without looking up complicated words in the dictionary for their meanings.

A New Age book called “Common Sense and the Ageless Wisdom” by Don Bradley changed my views on something. In my previous blog entry, I briefly explained why everything happens for a reason, which is mostly for the better good, not that it is supposed to be a collective stream of consciousness of synchronous events but for individual lessons to be learned and taught to others who might benefit by sharing personal experiences through and by examples.

I learned that “just being there” for each other out of empathy, though in hindsight seems also to serve self (or one’s ego), is necessary for the whole as the very nature of sharing (not necessarily spreading the wealth) of knowledge, if not financially supporting a relationship to show one cares, is in the face of reality serving the “Lord”, our “God”, Allah, Buddha, Rama, etc.

There were many clues in this book that pointed out the golden rule: do good to others and in return others will (hopefully in some way, shape and form) will do good to you. It’s in the knowing and not the expecting that this rule does apply on this planet, a temporary ride full of ups and downs and meant to turn everyone all around in the hopes of getting people to wake up, be happy and enjoy each others’ company and life’s challenges until death do us part for another round or not in the afterlife. Cheers!

Topic 17: Do you believe everything happens for a reason? Why or why not?

Everything does happen for a reason. For example, I had to take a nap this morning. I didn’t feel good. And after five hours, I awoke a few minutes ago and felt refreshed. This morning the weather for the Bay Area was mostly foggy. When I awoke, I saw that the sunshine had come out! The skies are crispy, clear and blue and the sunshine is very warm against my skin while blogging indoors. Of course, the air outdoors is quite refreshing too!

So while some things do NOT happen exactly the ways in which we desire, there is always some good reason. You know the saying: “Good things happen to those who wait!” And while I would like to agree that patients is a “good virtue”, that goes without saying that it’s meant to really be “for your own good”. For example, I want to buy a certain article of clothing. I really like how it looks on the hanger. But when Paw told me to try it on, it didn’t feel right: It was ill fitted!

That’s illustration is how everything happens. When its not meant to be, count your blessings that something better might come along. When it does happen, count your blessings that it’s the best you have right now. And while you are here reading this article, I wish you blessings in whatever you decided to do or not. Either way, it’s an experience meant to be taught to yourself and others and lessons learned for all.

I awoke from five hours of sleep at around 2:30pm. This was after eating breakfast with Maw, whom I left downstairs to watch television. This morning was foggy and she had wanted to go shopping at the commissary store. I wasn’t feeling energetic and knew that I needed to replenish my batteries again. So off I went to sleep for the rest of the day.

Now the sunshine is out and bright against my right side of my face, just like it was after I had my hair done. The direction of the sunshine would be almost perpendicular to the left side of my bedroom window upstairs but at a higher angle.

Earlier this morning, Binky the parakeet was upstairs. She had flown there all by herself since Maw removed the lace material partially blocking the upper entrance of the stairwell. I had place my finger underneath the tummy of the parakeet and she stepped up but I was too slow to bring her downstairs and she flew off back into my computer bedroom. For the second time, she stepped up on my right index finger and I was able to steadily but hurriedly bring her partially downstairs, upon which she heard the parakeets and then flew off into the direction of their sounds.
