  • 20080308-Dream Journal

I awoke around 06:39AM to a congested left nostril. Below are three dreams I could remember in some detail.

    First dream:

I was wandering outdoors. This place seems to remind me of an amusement park – Paramount’s Great America. I seem people walking around this place with big machines. There were two guys who came out of this side door to my right. I wanted to exit somewhere and decided to try this door after the second batch of three people opened the door from the inside. This door was already unlocked but another inner door was locked.

So I went through the park in search of another side door. I went to my left and saw another person walking somewhere and turned around to see a very large chain hanging from the top to my right side of my dream. The chain was very shiny and silvery in color. I went through the door, I think, later on.

    Second dream:

I was walking with my family and relatives inside this dimly lit area. Everyone took an escalator to the lower levels, except me. I took the middle stairways and I was barefooted. I felt each smooth slab on the bottom of my feet. Each step seemed too far forward to take a step and a few very too deep for me that I managed to climb all the way down to the next step and to the next level below. At the bottom and in front of the escalators, I saw a photo of me.

The photo was colored in brown and white. I was wearing a thick over jacket and had a grown and some sort of apron in front. The apron had a long word staring with the letter ‘P’. I wore a fan shaped ruffle located lower on the front of my chest and it stuck out nicely through the opening of the V-shaped collar of the jacket. A note from the photographer was read later stated in his hand writing that I should wear my gown longer but I forgot.

There was another photo hanging to the left side of this photo on the other side of the wall or column. The photo showed me on the bottom but off center to the left. I was sitting down and looking the right side of the photo. There were people elsewhere on the photo and more to my left. I believe there was a guy to my immediate left looking at the photographer. There was some sort of centralized vertical image and a horizontal section taking up in the middle of the photo from left to right.

The first photo showed I was standing up against a white backdrop. The same photo showed I was reclining on some bushes.

    Third dream:

Later, the relatives set up table at the lower levels but I didn’t know about this event. I saw cousin ‘Spill-Low’ who didn’t say much to ‘Maw’ or me. I walked across the table and rolled on top of it for some odd reason. Then we all sat down with auntie ‘Maw’ to my right, ‘Mal-Form’ to her right and ‘Mal-Low’ across from ‘Mal-Form’. Something was said and switched sitting arrangements with ‘Maw’.

I angrily told auntie ‘Mal-Low’ she was nasty. The face of ‘Mal-Low’ looked sad after I told her the truth about her attitude and bad mouth. I told auntie ‘Mal-Form’ the same. I then stood up from my sitting position, pointed to my right at aunt-in-law ‘Conceiving’ (who sitting on another long table placed perpendicular to our table at my right) and said loudly she was nasty too.

  • 20080307-Next Page

After reviewing the both the ‘faq.wordpress.com’ and ‘en.forums.wordpress.com’ supports regarding ‘Nextpage’ tags, I learned how this finally work. So there were five pages that were very long and I proceeded to place (by copying and pasting) the < !…nextpage… > tag after each ‘day’ of my post, which I combined. So this means my jump page labeled ‘Back to Top’ appears on the very last page.

I am slowly but surely learning how all the other features of WordPress.com. I noticed some members are so clueless and continue to post inquiries meant for their WordPress.org account. I reviewed the ‘Important Notices’ located on the top of the ‘en.forum.wordpress.com’ and those sticky posts are useful.

  • 20080306-Think Pink

Earlier this week, I’ve been seeing lots of people wearing pink — from pink sweaters to pink shirts and accessories — at my local church in the morning. Yesterday, a news personality on MSNBC wore a light pink tie. Today, another news person on CNN wore a dark purple tie from one of my theme colors and others wearing strips of purple and pink for their ties as well.

I think my bluish violet to light pink color theme of ‘Chaos Theory’ will definitely stay. I’m not getting bored with the layout either. However, I tried creating another page for my ‘Chapters’ section because I wanted to ‘promote’ this grassroots movement ever since my blogroll has been moved from the right sidebar at the top of an old WordPress theme to the bottom right sidebar where noone looks at all.

The only thing lacking is more ‘hits’ to my website. But that will soon change when I have better distractions to attend to besides blogging all day and night. Tonight, I got one response to my ‘Running Mate’ article I wrote a few minutes ago. It was about selecting someone to represent that Latino community — Bill Richardson (Governor of New Mexico). He looked so FINE with that full beard, really.

Anyway, we could all wear pink, not that people are gay or that homosexuals only wear this soft, pastel color as part of their wardrobe. Smiles forming pink blushes, makeup of pink and flowers blooming everywhere in pink tones should relax (psychologically) even the hardest of hard-knock souls. The color pink looks prettier than red, especially for heart-shaped images — like my banner on the top my WordPress page.

  • 20080306-Running Mates

With the recent negative campaigning between Obama and Hillary, there is no dream team with these two! If Hillary wins as nominee for the Democratic party, she should choose Bill Richardson (Governor for New Mexico) as her running mate.

Bill Richardson does have foreign relations experience and his background with the Latino community would promote a dialogue on issues concerning immigration and freetrade, more importantly the connection of two bordering countries with NAFTSA.

I don’t see Obama winning the nominee for the Democratic Party because I simply don’t trust him. I personally believe more representation is required for the hard working Mexicans who have struggled across the imaginary line of opportunity into the United States. And Obama will only take care of his own kinds first, I believe.

Anyway, as for John McCain being the nominee for the Republican Party, I have no idea who would be his running mate. Because, frankly, I don’t think McCain will be the next president of the United States. He is simply too old and might die in office (as per the ‘Little Jerk’ from high school once asked of McCain).

So there you have it. Install whoever you want as your new president who will inherit our economic recession and the illegal wars. Further, I don’t see how we should be scared of any recent bomb going off in New York by a suspicious bicyclist, angry at a Palestinian gunman shooting inside a Jewish religious or continue to believe in terrorist infiltrating in the Middle East (and the whole world, basically) by those Muslim extremists.

We should be more concerned about our home base where our health, for example, is in jeopardy by the the medical community poisoning us with vaccination containing thimerosal mercury. Tonight’s interview by Larry King on CNN with a couple (who has a child injured by vaccination leading to autism) is another wake up call for the American people to get busy with this particular CHANGE!

Too many have taken the fall (like the little red-haired girl, Hannah with autism) for and by the likes of those in the positions of power mostly run by the outdated status quo in the Senate, Congress and President, nay, all levels of govenment and most especially the greedy businesses that don’t care about CHANGE!

  • 20080305-More Learning

Well, besides listening to the electrical version of Pachabel (again) on YouTube by ‘guitar90′, I learned a little bit more about how to ‘Split a tag with the ‘More’ tag: < ! -more- >. The faq.wordpress.com said that the RSS feed won’t be included if these are used in for the ‘Write Post’. But it makes the post entry look ‘shorter’ and one would have to click ‘more’ to read the rest of the article.

It doesn’t work for the ‘Write Page’, which is a bummer because I have several long pages of weblog archives from my old Blogger accounts. The ‘More’ tag (Alt+t) is useful for anything above this line and everything else below are not seen by the reader. I don’t think I’ll be using this feature because I like to read everything upon clicking on the link.

Later, I tried to figure out what purpose the ‘Option Excerpt’ section serves. It is located between the ‘Upload’ section ‘Trackbacks’. I tried testing this ‘Option Excerpt’ and read nothing that shows this ‘excerpt’ on the post itself. The faq.wordpress.com said that this is for other people searching by ‘categories’ and the area is left blank by default.

I still don’t know what this means but I thought this section would have appeared somewhere on the post or page as a separate line. ‘Trackbacks’ is another feature I have yet to test. It allow the blogger to give credit to another author’s work. It alerts the other author through a link of some sort. I’ll have to learn to properly notify those who give me inspirations to my blogs.

  • 20080305-Jump Pages

After one hour of cross training my slow brain on how to program ‘jump pages’ as per the helpful link via faq.wordpress.com, I completed five (very long) pages at around 01:27AM. Once again, the instructions were limited and I had to interpret was < a name > meant. This took me a good thirty minutes to figure out. This doesn’t work on the widget, though.

After lots of trial and error, I discovered that < a name > needed to be programmed somewhere at the top of the page with the < a href > somewhere at the bottom of the page. I created a link of ‘Back to top’ at the bottom and another link of ‘Jump to bottom’ at the top. This mean both < a name > and < a href > had to appear with the respective ‘label’ and ‘link’ for each other.

Archiving takes a long time as I copy and past each page to a word document. Now my tummy hurts and probably from all the excitement of exercising while watching CNN projecting Hillary as the winner for the states of Texas, Ohio, Rhode Island and Obama as the winner for Vermont. Obama glared and looked angry during his speech. Hillary seemed ‘normal’ enough with her red suit.

I personally don’t care who wins the next presidential seat because I already ‘voted’ since last year. As long as both ‘Paw’ and ‘Maw’ win, I’m happy. ‘Paw’ seems to always choose the underdogs during other sports and he would always lose. I’d hate to see him disappointed for this ‘Ballot Bowl 08’ this time around. ‘Paw’ was smiling wide and making happy sounds. It was rather refreshing.

My parental units are the only reason why I drove the three of us to downtown San Jose, CA on February 1, 2008 to see Hillary. I usually don’t travel to unknown places but I knew my way around that part of town. Other than that, all the remaining three presidential candidates (now that Mike dropped out tonight) are part of the status quo, which is not really change.

‘Maw’ awoke around 01:45AM and used the toilet. She told me to go to sleep. But I cannot until I finish this blog entry. When I put my energies into something ‘creative’ there is no stopping me and sleep seems unnecessary as the excitement keeps me going like the ‘Energizer’ bunny rabbit, which is pink in color, by the way, like my new color for this theme as well as two CNN black guys wearing either pink shirts and pink ties and one CNN black gal wearing a nice pink suit. Pink is in the air! Jump!

  • 20080304-Daily Diary

Evening weather cold 05:54AM and saw seagulls flying northbound. orange sunset seeing. otherwise clear blue skies the whole day. I was upstairs after coming home from lunch at Kentucky fried chicken.

  • 20080304-Archiving Pages

I’ve been archiving my pages by copying and pasting the permalinks, visual and codes to a word document. This is for my backup because I really worked hard to make these pages pretty for my convenience. Although our WordPress account is saved on several servers, at least I’ll have the peace of mind knowing that most of these will be retrievable for future hosted websites.

  • 20080304-Editing Weblog

Once again, after the discovery and successful implementation of my ‘Static pages’, I am indeed a happy camper here at WordPress. I’ve modified the ‘Site Map’ page for a particular incoming ‘Referrer’ via DB’s website. This page is made easier to navigate with the ‘Recent Posts’ link and the titles to describe the web links when a reader hovers the mouse over the web links.

I’ve modified the ‘Home’ page, too. Here, I’ve used the image of a pink heart logo created for WordPress (instead of my black and white photo which made me look like an ‘agent’) and programmed yet another link within this logo directed back to the ‘Site map’ for those coming in to the main website under < flynnsblogs.wordpress.com >.

Without the faq and forum sections of WordPress, I would not have learned how to program CSS and html via my account with WordPress. And this is because ‘nerds’ like me have the passion for some creativity during our spare time and while out of work (partially thanks to TPTB). There is nothing more fun than being alone upstairs and making my website more functionahl than before the CSS upgrade.

The paid CSS upgrade was worth the cost for prettier purple and pink colors in my website. I wouldn’t mind paying for more amenities to make my blogging experience better, by the way, such as organizing our tags and categories in batches.

  • 20080304-Static Page

This entry was originally under my most recent ‘Write Page’ as < thebloggingpath.wordpress.com/posts > but I decided to copy and paste my thoughts to this ‘Write Post’ instead. I have created this new ‘Posts’ page because my goal was to have a ‘Home’ page as the welcome (or static) page with a link to my ‘recent posts’. But I couldn’t figure this one out for the past two days.

So after reviewing the helpful links via faq.wordpress.com regarding a ‘static page’, which could be set by the administrator via Options>Reading Options>Front page displays>A static page (select below), I came across a WordPress.com article entitled ‘Having a static page at the front of the blog’ via [http://faq.wordpress.com/2007/02/20/having-a-static-page-at-the-front-of-the-blog/]. The instructions were very straightforward and clear; yet several times in the past year since May 2007, I still couldn’t understand the concept.

So I created the ‘Home’ page on Fri., 29-Feb-2008 – 19:22 PM and today I created the ‘Posts’ page. I already changed the ‘Front page displays’ from ‘Your latest posts’ to ‘A static page (see below)’ with ‘Front page:’ set to ‘Home’. But I couldn’t find the purpose of the ‘Posts page:’ set to ‘-Select-‘. There was no success with both the faq or forum sections of WordPress and I had to figure out what ‘Posts page’ meant on my own (again).

I found out that when the newly created ‘Posts’ page is originally set as ‘Main page (no parent)’ my newly created ‘Posts’ page appears as part of the navigation bar for certain WordPress themes. So I decided to set my new ‘Posts’ page as a child page under my ‘Home’ page, which is the parent in order to see what would happen. Then with this being the important step, I navigated back to the ‘Reading’ tab under ‘Options’ section and instead of ‘-Select-‘ for the ‘Posts page’ I entered the ‘Post’ page.

My goal was completed successfully around 02:06PM. This was after I tested my new ‘Front page displays’. The ‘Static’ page’ works! I love WordPress and this is definitely my second home. Here is the biggest logo to express how fun and easy using the free service WordPress is to me:

  • 20080304-Editing Weblog

Yippie! I’ve outdone myself again. Besides the stupid phone call from the fat one again around 03:31PM today about more stupid delays by the kinky-hairy ones, I managed to modify my WordPress pages once again.

This time I’ve added one WordPress badge in between my customized purple arrow button. The three-piece image appears on the bottom of each page of ‘my book’, starting with the ‘Front’ page.

And when a reader hovers the mouse over the buttons, the title shows the ‘instructions’ on what link or page is ‘next’ to view. Below is a snapshot of what the buttons looks like when ‘turning the pages’ to ‘my book’.

For the ‘Home’ page, I ‘lost’ (or accidentally deleted) the code to a WordPress logo and change that image to the nice heart shaped one, which appears also on the ‘Front’ page. By clicking on this same image for both pages, the readers are directed to another link, which means they would have to read whatever juicy material I may have creatively entered. This is what the image looks like:

My next project is probably the pages appearing under the ‘Back Matter’ section of ‘my book’. So far these are pretty much definition only and nothing else. The ‘Front Matter’ section of my book is completed to my liking. I may have to do more ‘testing’ to make sure I have not overlooked any detail, like copyright date, spelling, grammar, language usages, etc…

The real pain is figuring out how to make my pages prettier without the constant copying and pasting of the codes to make sure my ‘Go to’ arrows work
