  • 20070820-Fading Memory

I look at you and your full face.
Trying to read your moving lips
    Silent words form blindingly fast:
Much too fast for my eyes to see.

    I cannot understand your words
    Straining to hear misty sounds
What? Hello! An echo from the past?
Alas, the moment is gone for good.

Author’s note: Eeek! Tried to evolve from quatrains but couldn’t! For those who wish to merge those extra wide, open spaces between each verse (or a line), try <Shift+Enter> instead of a hard <Enter> after each line or sentence.

  • 20070820-Funny Honeys

    Operation Fluffy Bunny
    Funny Stewart, laughing Daily
Rob the Riggle, gives me ‘giggles’
    Shown on cable, Comic Central

Right through the heart of the Green Zone
Falling Bombings — The First Battles
    of  Fallujah — Two-Thousand-Four
    Via Baghdad — Two-Thousand-Three

Author’s note: A short poem (of two, four-lined stanzas with eight syllables in free-verse) about combining a little history of the Iraq war and a segment called ‘Operation Fluffy Bunny’ ‘in which the correspondent Rob Riggles gives a report from Iraq’ on the ‘The Daily Show with Jon Stewart’ [http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Daily_Show] via the cable channel called ‘Comedy Central’ via [http://www.comedycentral.com/]. I didn’t know you folks cared about making F. B. laugh! Do I get royalty for my ‘adjective-noun combinations’, eh?

  • 20070820-Merging Opportunities

The recent news has shown Elvira Arellano returning from Mexico after illegally hiding in a Chicago church for one year. The current law of the land does not allow criminals to stay and some are deported back to where they originated. Her story happens to have made headlines regarding reformation of immigration.

My understanding is that the indigenous people had lost their lands to the current corporate entity of the British. I do not understand that why coming back to the original homeland of their ancestors would be deemed illegal or a violation of a law on ‘God’s’ land. ‘God’s land is for everyone and there should be no law to work honestly on the land of plenty.

And yet I see countless sacrifices made by those people crossing the desserts to find jobs that noone else with legal status as citizens of the United States would like to do for a living and earn money at minimum wage, which is currently $5.85 per hour. Some – young and old – do not make the trip over the high fence or border line due to death by dehydration from lack of water and other health-related condition.

My ideal would be to open the borders to both Canada and Mexico, whereby people could work across the borders and visit their families freely. This movement is supposed to unify everyone while retaining individual attributes to sex, age, race, religion, family status, national origin, military status, and disability. This means job opportunities could be shared for all under U.S. sovereignty, which is still an offshoot of the U.K. monarchy.

Perhaps the opportunity to create the ‘Amero’ currency could compete well and compliment with the European Union. The dollar seems to be losing value: China may sells off the hungry Treasury bonds if the U.S. imposes trade sanctions partially due to recent newsworthy incidences of lead paint found on toy products (from Mattel) and of tainted food from recycled animal waste products. The collapse of the dollar may be eminent.

Another opportunity is the improving the infrastructure by building a super highway, such as the latest technology in magnetic levitation for monorails. I see potential investment endeavors for the construction industry of this super highway connecting Canada and Mexico through the heartland of United States. The travelers who are afraid of flying would greatly benefit. I am sure tourists from other countries would flock to try out this mode of transportation.

For example, the current BART system in the Bay Area could be a good place to discover the advantages and disadvantages of completing a half dome pattern to a full circle with magnetic levitation technology. I personally do not like the noise from the rails and the wobbly effects make me dizzy. But traveling by BART is faster than by car and reduces emission to the environment, potential for vehicular accidents and stress of driving behind the wheels in the first place.

So the lifeline of any country happens to be its most important resource – people. Those who are willing to work should be given the opportunity to make a difference in the now emerging globalization of financial and economic endeavors. We as a sovereign nation should set a good example for others to follow. For starters, let’s try rewriting the U.S. constitution to accommodate multiple ideals – a hybrid between communism and capitalism. (Wow! Where did I get that thought? Hehehe!)

  • 20070820-Random Thoughts

Author’s note: Still working on rhythm and meters effectively but still sticking strictly to syllables for the sake of composing ‘poetry’ during my sleepless nights. Tummy hurts!

    20070820-2:10:28 AM (always present)
From far and wide, I cannot hide.
My thoughts are theirs — blood, sweat and tears
While wide awake or fast asleep,
They know me well – this smallest peep.

    20070818-1:20:46 AM (all interrelated)
His sister moon, her brother sun
An endless war, thy will be done
To come in peace, division end
    Lovers only, eternal friend

    20070817-12:11:47 AM (only One)
I am your God and so are you.
I’ll let you know if this is true.
Please don’t deny what I have said.
Feel with your heart. Think with your head.

    20070816-11:53:43 PM (marriage yuck)
More precious than ruby or gold
My tears of love to you unfold
Upon your face a sunny smile
As we walk down a blessed aisle

    20070814-8:40:31 AM (more philosophy)
Buying more should make you happy —
    Not crappy or sometimes snappy.
Giving more should make you humble —
    Not crumble or sometimes stumble.

    20070813-12:41:39 AM
    (mining sacrifices)
Strike one, strike two, strike three, they’re dead
Rescuers tried as trees limbs bled
    Holding onto hopeless drillings
    Utah mining, bumping chillings

    20070813-12:14:00 AM (agitated state)
When I can’t sleep; I forget to pray.
Restless toss and turns — a bother
When I relax; I begin to say:
The ‘I believe’ and ‘Our Father’.

    20070812-1:34:31 AM (unknown situation)
You saw a ghost: what would you do?
Tell their lawyers that you would sue!
Then again, it’s all in your mind.
Would you rather be deaf and blind?

    20070811-12:55:44 AM (former pet)
    Persimmon, our little green friend
No hampas stick to you extend
Now that you’re gone, never to return
Forgive us for we’ve much to learn

    20070807-10:26:53 AM (past ‘kind’)
Turned around: ‘Don’t let them get you!’
    Light brown alien, dark-eyed Jew
His hollow kiss of endless depth
Awaken from my old world death

    20070729-6:45:35 PM (humorous side)
Here is my wish list short but sweet
How to love you without deceit
Behind my mask of garlic breath
Eternal bliss — no fresh mint death

    20070721-2:46:56 PM (many kinds)
Someone to trust a crazy man
Tells the whole world his lonely plan
To choose his path – straight and narrow
Into our hearts – sharpened arrow

    20070714-7:48:19 AM (rare ‘kinds’)
    Inquisitive minds want to know
What is above or down below
Always seeking to how and why
    Psy-chicks don’t need to tell a fly.

    20070711-11:36:53 PM (life’s perspective)
You are now whom I could have been —
The same old person, different spin
You are who you are: deep inside
I’m always here – could never hide.
