  • 20070821-Correcting Credit

Foreclosure of houses includes ‘default notices, auction sale notices and bank repossession’. This means buyers failed to make payments due to losing jobs, being disabled or other life changing events such as death and divorces – both of which are range high on the list of stress. I feel sorry for these kinds of people who have to deal with the collection agencies.

I could be one of these people who will go into collection. Once in collection, we are no longer consumers but slaves. So far I am able to keep up with the minimum payments of my open balance on my credit cards and while jobless for two months. I could have paid off the balances had the credit card companies stop the practice of usury by charging interest rates as high as twenty-five percent (25%)!

After reading the fine print of disclosure by credit card companies, I find that my payments are not being applied to the principal balance because the minimum payment barely covers the finance charges only. After missing one month’s payment, the minimum balance to be paid each month is THREE times higher and is almost half of a paycheck!

I could file for bankruptcy and never get credit (or buy a house) for ten (10) years if I fail to make payments. Bankruptcy is also another way to lead the poor into the jailhouse because the prevailing laws make payment on bankruptcy harder to avoid. There is no way to avoid foreclosure of the house with this scenario of mortgage payments and other expenses.

There is no way of keeping consumers in there homes no matter how hard they work, if ever. Those that are hiding from the collection agencies and the courts already have no homes or other means to pay back the entities that cannot seem to forgive a debt. I know personally that a debt could never be forgiven, especially when the debtor could never pay back in the first place.

Consumers of any type of credit are borrowers. Most of the borrowers happen to be strapped for much needed cash. Cash could be obtained by home equity and (in my case) cash advances on credit cards. Cold hard cash obtained by these same borrowers (herewith known as debtor) is never enough. The tendency is for more cash, which furthers the cycle of debt.

As mentioned by Senator Chris Dodd in this morning’s speech via CNBC news on cable, there are tools that should keep the market working and credit flowing. A broker, for example, is one tool to help raise money from willing investors, whom I describe as nothing more than gamblers in my previous blog. A broker, as the word implies, is like a pied piper that leads the unwary to ‘go broke’ or penniless. A broker is like a bookie and both types gamble, which is like trading on the floors of the markets.

The best correction is stopping any fees, charges and usury on interest altogether! By eliminating any extra cost for lending, a temporary tourniquet (easing portfolio caps for Fannie Mae and Freddie Mae or yesterday’s miniscule attempt by the Feds to lower the discount rate of lending by half a point) on any hard working member of its borrowing body (herewith known as debtor) does not have to choke off its own blood supply – die and drop off.

  • 20070820-Fading Memory

I look at you and your full face.
Trying to read your moving lips
    Silent words form blindingly fast:
Much too fast for my eyes to see.

    I cannot understand your words
    Straining to hear misty sounds
What? Hello! An echo from the past?
Alas, the moment is gone for good.

Author’s note: Eeek! Tried to evolve from quatrains but couldn’t! For those who wish to merge those extra wide, open spaces between each verse (or a line), try <Shift+Enter> instead of a hard <Enter> after each line or sentence.

  • 20070820-Merging Opportunities

The recent news has shown Elvira Arellano returning from Mexico after illegally hiding in a Chicago church for one year. The current law of the land does not allow criminals to stay and some are deported back to where they originated. Her story happens to have made headlines regarding reformation of immigration.

My understanding is that the indigenous people had lost their lands to the current corporate entity of the British. I do not understand that why coming back to the original homeland of their ancestors would be deemed illegal or a violation of a law on ‘God’s’ land. ‘God’s land is for everyone and there should be no law to work honestly on the land of plenty.

And yet I see countless sacrifices made by those people crossing the desserts to find jobs that noone else with legal status as citizens of the United States would like to do for a living and earn money at minimum wage, which is currently $5.85 per hour. Some – young and old – do not make the trip over the high fence or border line due to death by dehydration from lack of water and other health-related condition.

My ideal would be to open the borders to both Canada and Mexico, whereby people could work across the borders and visit their families freely. This movement is supposed to unify everyone while retaining individual attributes to sex, age, race, religion, family status, national origin, military status, and disability. This means job opportunities could be shared for all under U.S. sovereignty, which is still an offshoot of the U.K. monarchy.

Perhaps the opportunity to create the ‘Amero’ currency could compete well and compliment with the European Union. The dollar seems to be losing value: China may sells off the hungry Treasury bonds if the U.S. imposes trade sanctions partially due to recent newsworthy incidences of lead paint found on toy products (from Mattel) and of tainted food from recycled animal waste products. The collapse of the dollar may be eminent.

Another opportunity is the improving the infrastructure by building a super highway, such as the latest technology in magnetic levitation for monorails. I see potential investment endeavors for the construction industry of this super highway connecting Canada and Mexico through the heartland of United States. The travelers who are afraid of flying would greatly benefit. I am sure tourists from other countries would flock to try out this mode of transportation.

For example, the current BART system in the Bay Area could be a good place to discover the advantages and disadvantages of completing a half dome pattern to a full circle with magnetic levitation technology. I personally do not like the noise from the rails and the wobbly effects make me dizzy. But traveling by BART is faster than by car and reduces emission to the environment, potential for vehicular accidents and stress of driving behind the wheels in the first place.

So the lifeline of any country happens to be its most important resource – people. Those who are willing to work should be given the opportunity to make a difference in the now emerging globalization of financial and economic endeavors. We as a sovereign nation should set a good example for others to follow. For starters, let’s try rewriting the U.S. constitution to accommodate multiple ideals – a hybrid between communism and capitalism. (Wow! Where did I get that thought? Hehehe!)

  • 20070820-Random Thoughts

Author’s note: Still working on rhythm and meters effectively but still sticking strictly to syllables for the sake of composing ‘poetry’ during my sleepless nights. Tummy hurts!

    20070820-2:10:28 AM (always present)
From far and wide, I cannot hide.
My thoughts are theirs — blood, sweat and tears
While wide awake or fast asleep,
They know me well – this smallest peep.

    20070818-1:20:46 AM (all interrelated)
His sister moon, her brother sun
An endless war, thy will be done
To come in peace, division end
    Lovers only, eternal friend

    20070817-12:11:47 AM (only One)
I am your God and so are you.
I’ll let you know if this is true.
Please don’t deny what I have said.
Feel with your heart. Think with your head.

    20070816-11:53:43 PM (marriage yuck)
More precious than ruby or gold
My tears of love to you unfold
Upon your face a sunny smile
As we walk down a blessed aisle

    20070814-8:40:31 AM (more philosophy)
Buying more should make you happy —
    Not crappy or sometimes snappy.
Giving more should make you humble —
    Not crumble or sometimes stumble.

    20070813-12:41:39 AM
    (mining sacrifices)
Strike one, strike two, strike three, they’re dead
Rescuers tried as trees limbs bled
    Holding onto hopeless drillings
    Utah mining, bumping chillings

    20070813-12:14:00 AM (agitated state)
When I can’t sleep; I forget to pray.
Restless toss and turns — a bother
When I relax; I begin to say:
The ‘I believe’ and ‘Our Father’.

    20070812-1:34:31 AM (unknown situation)
You saw a ghost: what would you do?
Tell their lawyers that you would sue!
Then again, it’s all in your mind.
Would you rather be deaf and blind?

    20070811-12:55:44 AM (former pet)
    Persimmon, our little green friend
No hampas stick to you extend
Now that you’re gone, never to return
Forgive us for we’ve much to learn

    20070807-10:26:53 AM (past ‘kind’)
Turned around: ‘Don’t let them get you!’
    Light brown alien, dark-eyed Jew
His hollow kiss of endless depth
Awaken from my old world death

    20070729-6:45:35 PM (humorous side)
Here is my wish list short but sweet
How to love you without deceit
Behind my mask of garlic breath
Eternal bliss — no fresh mint death

    20070721-2:46:56 PM (many kinds)
Someone to trust a crazy man
Tells the whole world his lonely plan
To choose his path – straight and narrow
Into our hearts – sharpened arrow

    20070714-7:48:19 AM (rare ‘kinds’)
    Inquisitive minds want to know
What is above or down below
Always seeking to how and why
    Psy-chicks don’t need to tell a fly.

    20070711-11:36:53 PM (life’s perspective)
You are now whom I could have been —
The same old person, different spin
You are who you are: deep inside
I’m always here – could never hide.

  • 20070819-Sinking Censorship

    RE: [http://wordpress.com/blog/2007/08/19/why-were-blocked-in-turkey/]

Let’s see. I am opposed to censorship because when the ‘oppositions’ start to complain about anyone’s expressed opinions and views about any subject matter (especially via blogs powered by WordPress.com) this tells me that some sort of nerve has hit its target(s). Censorship means everyone should not look and keep quiet, deny the truth that censorship is bad for everyone, eliminate everyone with a voice to express their dark sides and kill freedom of speech once and for all.

How do we know that this blockage in Turkey is yet another spam or intimidation by this possible hacker (or cracker) to scare fellow bloggers from the WordPress.com community into keeping their ‘eyes wide open’ for these the internet ‘spooks’ (I meant, watchdogs)? I know I get lots of spam that looks ‘legitimate’ via my newest email account. How do we know that our Americanized legal system is on our side to protect freedom of speech and freedom of expression? I know that these monitors are gauging my reaction to this latest WordPress.com query from Mr. Matt Mullenweg regarding any alleged violation of domestic and international law by this blogger in Turkey.

For example, while is prefer to blog under a pen name and try not to drag the names of any annoying ‘self-governing’ entities that may happen to cross my path in this lifetime into my blogs, I too would be hurt if someone were to spell out the full name of my ‘alter ego’ across the internet worldwide. Slander and libel are legal words regarding defamation of character. Needless to say, I too am a great offender of name calling and labeling ‘entities’ with all the creativity originating from my deepest thoughts of my small mind. This is one of my weaknesses that I must learn to overcome while functioning as a bio-unit in the form of a human female.

I would say that noone should be ‘under lawful and/or moral obligation’ to the ‘jurisdiction or authority’ of any ‘entity’ except unto oneself. In other words, what may be ‘bad’ to one may be ‘good’ to another and vice versa. This means that anyone who doesn’t agree with me, for example, has already been condemned as being wrong forever. So by this logic, this means everyone is either right or wrong.

I wouldn’t bother censoring the ‘truth’ presented by this blogger for slandering another. Maybe this is justified karma in a nutshell for both sides – insults tit for a tat.  This means every microscopic detail of offense made by any writer, journalist and bloggers would be censored. What happened to forgive and forget, huh? We should respect everyone’s version of reality no matter how real or imaged. I am opposed to legalizing creativity, for heaven’s sake! I love people and their minds.

By the way, I happen to love the juicy, dark meat of turkey, especially on Thanksgiving Day. And like WordPress.com being blocked in Turkey, this symbolically means chopping off the heads of turkey to get at the delicious meat. I hope my eating habits would not be taken as offensive to the vegan folks or the bird community, whose countless comrades have fallen to grace the dinner plates as a time honored foodstuff of tradition in the United States. My apology goes to the ancient dinosaurs and my beloved parakeets, too.

Like the escape of gas by farting or burping from overeating too much of a good thing, the noise (and in this case) the smell of truth seemed to have upset the recipient(s). The enemy within (said gas) is no longer a threat once the ulterior motive, if any, has aired out its secrecy (via blogging). The abuse, however, may take on many forms, including defamation blogs. Maybe since I said too much already and hope this particular blog of mine does not get be deleted or blocked, either.

P.S. What may be criminal to one group may be truth to another. Who shall pick up the first stone, eh? Think well, all.

  • 20070819-Celebrate Milpitas

We just came back from ‘Celebrate Milpitas’ [http://www.artsopolis.com/event/detail/23317], which is a festival of Art, Wine, Culture & Entertainment (August 18-August 19, 2007). The event went well too. We walked around from 10:30AM to 11:15AM.

Our original destination was the Farmer’s Market located in the Milpitas Town Center near Mervyn’s store per a magazine dated from this year. But I guess that already closed since last year. We used to buy fresh produce here and now have to pay a bit higher at the local grocery stores instead.

We bought three CD at $35.00 from Hugo Wainzinger, who signed all three purchases (except Al who had to pick up his wife from Japan.) The CD has the distinct romantic songs of Italia spread out among all three CD’s. (Yes, Flynn does listen to these favorite sounds of old).

The instrumental arrangement is guitar and mandolin and could be found on their website via [http://heartstringsmusic.com/]. Their next CD, according to Hugo, will include the Filipino song, ‘Sampagita’ — which is the national flower and very fragrant too.

I wanted to visit all booths and talk to the vendors and at least buy something from each one. They all deserve our patronage for displaying their wares. There were hand painted light bulbs, magnetic and stone jewelries, soaps, clothes and other two booths of interest, like landscape design and Baja peninsula.

The Milpitas Fire Department, Lions Club and the Rotary Club were there. I wanted to ride in the fire truck. The Milpitas Police Department had their usual trailer for processing any citizens nearby too.

There were other performers like ‘The Sundance Kids’ and children dancers of ‘Polynesian’ descendent. I took pictures of them with my stupid cellphone camera and these photos are not worth uploading. I had my good camera in my other bag unfortunately because I didn’t want to get loaded down while enjoying the very cool but clear, sunny day.

There were lots of food too — beer, lumpia (deep, fried Filipino eggroll), snow cones, bar-be-que (mostly chicken, of course) on a stick and other food items we didn’t bother eating because ‘Kali-Maw’ couldn’t not walk too long on her bum knees and under the hot sun (despite the black umbrella) that did offer some relief for her.

I feel better knowing that I have a few more moments to spend while on this earth and to share my experiences with those who are willing to put up with me. I’ve missed so much with the outdoors but will have to make the effort to drive myself and others to these places of interest. Blogging while indoors shall continue, though.

  • 20070818-Daily Diary

    20070818-Daily Thoughts

Saw raccoon going inside sewer system across from front doors of ours; while four people were talking about house up for sale across from us. 07:20PM. I hollered ‘Coon!’ through the front door. Was dancing after dinner at the time too.

  • 20070817-Small Hoedown

Tonight’s hoedown for current and old staff at a multipurpose room located with Agnews Developmental Center at 3500 Zanker Road, San Jose, CA 95134-2299 went well. I have sustained a tummy ache from eating dinner and dancing too much. I loved the band of four, especially the tall brunette bass player. (I am fantasizing, here!)

The band was good and I think they heard me holler a request for ‘Hound Dog’ by Elvis. Some of us did the line dance to the usual beat of the ‘Achy Breaky’ song followed by three more long songs. They played the ‘Eagles’ and others that I forgot.

I wore a green and white checker board, half sleeve shirt with dirty, dark blue jeans and my ugly black flat shoes for the ‘cowboy’ theme of tonight’s event. Everyone else (mostly Filipinos) had the proper attire of cowboy outfits.

I especially liked Cheryl’s red outfit. She performed for Gene Autry and Roy Rogers among the few names I could remember. She did ropes tricks, whipped balloons and a button off of someone’s tongue, twirled pistols and gave participants first place, blue ribbons.

My tummy ache was also due to consuming not just the Armadillo Willy’s BBQ of half chicken breast, one rib, one slice of steak, one cornbread, one glob of potato salad, one scoop of sweet red beans, rice pilaf and vinegar salad but a few mouthful of dark chocolate ice cream and some watermelon, followed by more lemon iced tea. [Muurp!]

We arrived in error at Unit 81, where ‘Kali-Maw’ used to work and was directed by a Filipino man back to the multipurpose room located near Zanker-Northpointe Residential around 05:15PM. We parked at the disabled section and found a little trouble getting into the place.

A nice ginger-short haired, wide-bodied, white lady gave us three tickets at $10.00 dollars each last minute because ‘Liar Lunatic’ had failed to inform us that we could have gotten in free or at least had to have tickets for the catered meal. I gave that nutball woman a dirty look later on after getting my grub. And the three of us ignored that Filipina the whole evening.

We enjoyed ourselves, had our pictures taken and left the area around 09:00PM. I’ll miss the entertainers, especially the band. They are from San Jose, CA, by the way. (Hehehe! Awww. Shucks!)

Here are some more pictures showing a shiny ball in the ceiling and some balloons of cowboy boots. This is what happens when there is nothing more to blog on a daily basis. Each mundane event is made spectacular in my small world
