Yesterday, I’ve discovered the < textarea > tag and made use of that feature into my ‘Popular Prayers’ widgets, which has nine of those nice little windows. This allows the readers to stay in one place of the page without scrolling up and down to view the rest of the text. I tried programming a < textarea> tag into this post but the < p > tag won’t allow for the extra white spaces in between each line.
I’ve successfully added two non-functional the < button > tag to both the ‘Stats – Poll’ widget and my ‘Help’ page. The only thing I could do with this HTML tag is changing the text and the positioning of the box.
I’ve been viewing the online web tutorials on CSS programming via the w3school.com website for more help but the more advanced options involve java scripts and < iframe >, both of which WordPress.com won’t allow, including flash. I am gaining only the basics so far and perhaps I could pursue the more advanced knowledge base for certification.
But that is only good for those arm chair gurus who like the spend hours in front of the computer and playing around with more artistry that I could do minimally on my own. For the meantime, all I could do is create posts and pages, insert some images and reference links from external sources. I think I’ll stay with my current ‘Digg 3’ theme and am pretty much done messing around with the widgets.
