At around 04:00PM, I’ve modified the pages of ‘my book’ via WordPress.com. Once again, I remembered the faq.wordpress.com weblink and cross-trained myself on ‘how to write a book’. Last year, I managed to ‘create a page’ for ‘front’ and ‘index’ and still didn’t know what to do with the organization of my pages.
Today, I discovered ‘chapters’ and the third essential page to a book. For the longest time, I couldn’t differentiate the concept of ‘contents’ from ‘chapters’. After using my big brain, I created my newest page: ‘Chapters’. And this eliminated the confusion of dividing ‘the meaty part’ of my weblog from the ‘table of contents’.
Then I discovered the function of the < blockquote > tag. In my mind right after lunch and exercise today, I thought to myself that I should use the < blockquote > tag for the purpose of setting the external source for the definition located on the top of each of my pages apart from the rest of the text. This allows for proper ‘credit’ for this type of information.
The ‘Digg 3’ theme makes this particular tag stand out with a yellow colored box with a double ‘quotation mark’ on the upper left hand side of the box. I had to remove some old < blockquote > tag from the pages and set those sentences as ‘center’. But I still have a hard time figuring out how to get these more indented without using the < blockquote > tag feature.
Overall, I am learning how to navigate through the WordPress.com website and utilize the features available. I did notice three more floating icon within the ‘Code’ tab while overhauling the layout of the ‘Pages’. I don’t know what these three do but will find out later on when I have the time. Other than that, it’s back to ‘Posts’ until I come up with other ideas to make my weblog site ‘prettier’ (to me at least).
